    Chapter 85: Familiarity

Boros was too late to stop Wen Ying; everyone's gaze had already shifted towards them. As a "dog", he couldn't show any abnormal behavior, so he could only squat there helplessly, watching Wen Ying walk towards the stage.

If he had known what the grand prize was, he would have definitely told Wen Ying not to go, for fear that the exorcist would discover him.

Boros, a dog, squatting in the corner radiating resentment, didn't attract much attention. Everyone was focused on the lucky winner.

This fortunate person was almost fully geared up, likely someone with social anxiety who rarely interacted with others. However, they seemed quite well-behaved, with fair skin visible on their face, giving off an introverted first impression.

Wen Ying walked onto the stage and shyly handed the ticket to the Hell Orange in front of him.

Hell Orange was quite tall, probably around six feet three inches, with solid muscles beneath his clothes. Though not bulky, his explosiveness and strength were undoubtedly comparable to those with bulging muscles.

His demeanor wasn't intimidating. Apart from the expression he wore to fit the role of the three-headed hellhound, he appeared to be a rather friendly person with a somewhat carefree and unrestrained attitude. He looked to be no more than thirty, still young.

"My ticket number is this one," Wen Ying avoided eye contact, handing over the ticket.

Hell Orange didn't inquire about Wen Ying's personal situation or engage in any interaction. He simply smiled and said, "You're really lucky."

Wen Ying smiled bashfully, his lips concealed by the mask, but the glint in his eyes behind the sunglasses revealed his joy. Up close, Hell Orange could see the introverted boy laughing.

"Which character do you like the most?"

"The Cerberus from Hell," Wen Ying's soft voice rose slightly, "I like the Cerberus from Hell the most."

"Oh?" Hell Orange raised an eyebrow, "Does that make me your favorite COSplayer?"

    Wen Ying nodded several times.

Beros suddenly found the COSplayer portraying the exorcist who resembled him rather unappealing.

Hell Orange chuckled lightly, and laughter also echoed from the audience. He took a large gift box from a man beside him and handed it to Wen Ying, saying, "I'm so happy to be liked by you."

Wen Ying took the big gift box, feeling its weight. Concerned about Wen Ying's small stature, Hell Orange whispered softly in his ear, "Is it too heavy for you?"

Wen Ying's heartbeat quickened at Hell Orange's sudden proximity, but after confirming that the other party hadn't noticed anything amiss, he nodded vigorously. With just this weight, his excitement was soaring, and if not for his efforts to suppress it, his wings of joy might have burst out.

He was overjoyed. The complete set of official souvenirs from this memorial exhibition, without needing to spend extra on rare items, plus some vintage dolls – after pouring so much money into that frustrating mobile game, he had finally struck gold. His happiness was tinged with a hint of bitterness.

"Very well, please face the camera, let's take a photo together."

Wen Ying posed with an honest 'V' sign.

The photographer asked for Wen Ying's phone number to send him the picture. However, Wen Ying shook his head like a rattle-drum. "No need, it'll be posted on the official blog, right? I can just save it from there."

With that said, he dashed away with the large gift box in his arms.

Hell Orange was slightly surprised. The guy didn't look strong at all, yet he could run so swiftly with that big gift box.

Wen Ying returned to the corner where he was before and, as expected, met Beros' seemingly calm but actually furious gaze. He chuckled awkwardly. "I took the chance to check him out."

Beros sat up straight, looking a bit like a cat puffing out its chest. His eyes conveyed only one message – keep spinning your tale, I'm listening.

Suddenly, a chaotic scream erupted from the side. Wen Ying's expression turned grim as he turned around. In the crowd below the stage of the concert, something had caused a commotion.

Beros hopped onto Wen Ying's shoulder, leading the way with one front paw. "Let's go."

"Who the hell stepped on my foot?!"

    "Who hit me just now?"

Wen Ying noticed that amidst the chaos, a few intermediate demons were taking advantage of the situation to pretend to help those who had fallen and were discreetly leading them away from the commotion.

Wen Ying understood their tactic – fishing in troubled waters, hunting. The exorcists had also discovered this. While ordinary people were oblivious, demons and exorcists were engaging in a battle of wits, strength, and strategy, all while a large group of civilians were caught in the middle, resulting in utter chaos.

"There's nothing worth seeing here. Let's go," Beros said, not wanting to stay. Firstly, he disliked the exhibition, and secondly, the intense battle ahead was stirring his warrior instincts, making him restless.

Feeling the growing aggression from Beros, Wen Ying patted his head and, carrying a gift box roughly one cubic meter in size, calmly left through a side passage. As he departed, chaos still reigned behind him, with pandemonium everywhere.

A few exorcists also entered through the same passage, dashing past Wen Ying at high speed. One exorcist, as he passed by, glanced back at him. It was Wei Ranfeng, the one who had kicked down Wen Ying's door previously.

He was dressed similarly to that day, wearing a simple work vest, with an idle expression on his face and a rebellious glint in his eyes.

    "What's up, Senior?"

Wei Ranfeng shook his head and continued running forward. The aura of the person he had just encountered felt strangely familiar, but he couldn't place where he had seen him before.
