    Chapter 87: Scouting the Area

Wen Ying was startled for a moment. Facing away from the surveillance camera, he skillfully covered his eyes with a mental spell and half-removed his sunglasses to look at the security guard by the door. He chuckled softly and said, "It's a toy dog. Am I allowed in, right?"

The security guard was momentarily dazed. Wen Ying put his sunglasses back on, and after the guard returned his gaze, he seemed to suddenly recall something, scratching his head as he apologized, "I'm really sorry, I don't know how I mistook it just now. You can go in quickly."

Wen Ying nodded slightly and stepped inside. Berlos lay motionless on his shoulder, like a real doll.

On the surface, Berlos seemed to be cooperating with Wen Ying, but only he knew what he was truly thinking. Wen Ying could probably guess some of it. He wasn't a weakling anymore, and with Aruda's support, he had nothing to fear. Besides, he wasn't an idiot; if he couldn't win, he could always run.

As Wen Ying entered the building, the corners of his lips beneath the mask curled up slightly, a hint of pleasure flashing through his eyes.

The Six An Building appeared to be a business complex, and everyone inside was dressed in formal attire, wearing suits and ties. Wen Ying, with his sunglasses, mask, and cap, stood out like a sore thumb. Many eyes were cast upon him.

Wen Ying thought to himself that he had been in the demon realm for too long and had forgotten the need for appropriate clothing in such situations. He stood by the elevator, waiting for it, while people nearby kept glancing at him.

Fortunately, he had a normal physique, appearing slender and weak. He didn't seem suspicious or like someone who would cause trouble, so the reactions around him were minimal.

The elevator arrived promptly, and Wen Ying stepped in. He went to the sixth floor, where the lingering magical aura was the strongest.

At the end of the short elevator corridor on the right, behind the glass doors, the aura of the low-ranking demon was the densest, mixed with a faint trace of human magical energy. However, it was so faint that no information about its owner could be deduced from the remaining magical residue.

Wen Ying approached the glass wall and peered inside. The office was quite full of staff, and on the walls were photos, one of which caught Wen Ying's attention - the boss's picture. The name matched, and it was indeed Wu Fei, the unscrupulous boss.

As someone walked out, Wen Ying intercepted them. The person looked at Wen Ying, their dark circles profound, and they seemed lacking in vitality.

"What do you want?" the person asked irritably.

"Won't your boss be working overtime tonight?" Wen Ying asked politely. Upon hearing this tone, the person reluctantly tolerated and replied, "I think he will." Then, they left.

Knowing that he would be there tonight brought a hint of pleasure to Wen Ying's eyes. He turned around and retraced his steps.

"That's it?" said Beros as they exited the building. "Your reconnaissance was rather simple."

Wen Ying's hand reached for Beros' head again, stroking his ear a few extra times. He imagined how different it would feel if Beros were in human form and commented, "My appearance stands out in there. If I were to enter and then be caught on camera, I'd be the first suspect. Knowing the time is enough."

After being petted a few times, Beros dodged Wen Ying's hand and bit down on his wrist. Despite being a weakened Cerberus, Beros didn't use excessive force, leaving only an indentation on Wen Ying's skin.

Feeling some pain, Wen Ying pulled his hand back, staring at the mark on his palm. He smiled, his tone becoming alluring as he said, "A bite mark from a human form might look even better."

Boros's hair stood on end, a chill running down his spine from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.

"Wen Ying is just joking," he shrugged. "You're really not good at taking teasing."

Boros: "..." This guy had screamed in pain at the slightest touch before.

"Speaking of which, your hair seems a bit long now."

    Boros became alert. "Mm."

"What if you let it grow out?" Wen Ying held up his index finger. "Tie a small braid at the back or a strand at the temple."

Boros simply ignored Wen Ying and closed his eyes, waiting to return to the Realm of Magic.

They had picked up some random food outside. To Wen Ying, ordinary food was now tasteless junk, devoid of magic and unable to provide sustenance.

Boros took a few bites and stopped; he was only tasting the local flavor.

The mention of local specialties reminded Wen Ying of Aluda's request. He needed some exorcist's blood.

The time passed quickly as Wen Ying strolled around the streets, looking for any solitary exorcist. After about an hour, he found one and followed him, only to discover that the man entered the Lu'an Building.

Wen Ying muttered to himself, "Why did he come back here... Weren't all the low-level demons in the Lu'an Building taken care of?"

He walked into an alley, transformed his appearance, and emerged as a suited office worker with a slightly taller build and an ordinary face that could easily blend into a crowd. Carrying a briefcase, he stepped into the Lu'an Building.

He left Bellerophon in the alley and didn't bring the demon along.

Once inside, the exorcist, similarly dressed as an office worker, stood by the elevator. Wen Ying approached from two meters away, and they both got on when it arrived.

The exorcist exited at the sixth floor. Wen Ying followed him out, but paused with a puzzled look. The man had entered the office area of Wu Fei's ruthless boss but didn't go in. Instead, he inquired at the front desk.

Wen Ying noticed the man take out an unassuming black bead from his pocket. With a cabinet blocking the view at the front desk, he couldn't see what happened next, but the man seemed to have hidden the black bead among some clutter. He then turned and went down in the elevator.

As they brushed past each other, Wen Ying memorized the man's aura and secretly marked him.

Wen Ying took the stairs down.

Something told Wen Ying that this exorcist wasn't aligned with Wei Ranfeng. The extremist group from the amusement park flashed through his mind – it seemed like he had stumbled upon something valuable without even looking for it. Perhaps tonight, he might not just spill blood, but also bag an extremist exorcist as well.

Boros's ears twitched as he noticed Wen Ying approaching, his expression contemplative.

    "When are you leaving?"

"Worry not," Wen Ying replied. "I know you're eager to go back and beat me up, but forget it. Aruda gave me a bunch of toxic potions. I'm not bragging, but with your current state, before you reach the age of transformation, you might not be able to withstand these dozens of bottles."

"..." Boros's canine face wore an unpleasant and frustrated look, as if he had lost all interest in the world.

Wen Ying ate at a fast-food restaurant directly across the Liu'an Building, sitting there until evening. He kept an eye on the people entering and exiting the door. By 10 o'clock at night, neither Wu Fei, the unscrupulous boss, nor the exorcist from that afternoon had shown up.
