    Chapter 219: Hornet Beast

Wen Ying looked in the direction where Beros had left, estimating the time based on his intuition. Beros should currently be at the location of the newly emerged fluctuation point.

After hearing Wen Xinxin's words, Lu Qingyuan whispered, "It depends on the strength of the magical beast and whether it's injured. Judging from the magical fluctuations of everyone, the main group hasn't distanced themselves much from the beast."

He was quite inexperienced. Only if the magical beast was severely injured and the classmates chasing it were some distance away could he strike the decisive blow and snatch the beast's head before they caught up. Otherwise, he wouldn't even get a taste of the spoils.

Wen Xinxin gestured to Lu Qingyuan with her eyes, reminding him that they had a Demon Mirror on their side. Mu City, who was a giant snake, was chopped off by the Demon Mirror in just a few strikes. This beast in the Paradise wouldn't even last one slash from the Demon Mirror.

Lu Qingyuan realized this belatedly. He had never been at the forefront of such practical combat assignments before. Looking expectantly at Wen Ying, he felt a sense of anticipation.

Being looked at with trust and anticipation by two people, Wen Ying, who felt like a big shot, immediately promised earnestly, "Don't worry, I'll definitely snatch the beast's head."

Wen Ying had done his fair share of snatching heads halfway through battles in the Demon Realm.

He didn't need to worry about the human students. What he needed to guard against were his demonic classmates. He didn't know how many of them were among the main group chasing after the magical beast.

Wu Shaluo's magical reaction was the strongest. It seemed like he was active on the front line.

Wen Ying was perplexed. Wu Shaluo had already made a move, so why was that magical beast still able to flee? Was Wu Shaluo weakening, or did the beast possess an absurd evasion ability?

The platinum tail ring flickered, and a few magic cards hovered around Wen Ying. To ensure absolute success, he even brought out his enchanted triform weapon, with its silver-white blade extending from the staff.

Lu Qingyuan was thrilled. Could he finally score high in this practical combat class? He was so excited that his limbs trembled, his eyes fixed on the direction of the commotion.

The magical beast was incredibly swift. In the blink of an eye, they caught sight of it. A spot in the distance rapidly approached them at an astonishing speed.

It was a bee-like magical beast, predominantly yellow in color with black circular patterns across its body. It had a pair of enormous cone-shaped stingers on both its hands and tail, giving off an intimidating visual impact.

Its red compound eyes occupied half of its face, an arrangement distinctly unfriendly to those with trypophobia.

"The appearance...," Wen Xinxin shuddered as she caught sight of the magical beast's face, goosebumps racing across her skin in a frenzied rush.

As it drew closer, Wen Ying's sharp demonic vision allowed him to notice that it was covered in a layer of fur.

In the past, Wen Ying would have had the same reaction as Wen Xinxin. However, Aluda had trained him well; not even an eyelid flickered, and his heartbeat remained steady as usual.

Wen Ying narrowed his eyes slightly, gazing past the magic beast to where the main force could be seen. It was a grand and fervent sight, with a crowd relentlessly pursuing them. Amongst those pursuers, Wen Ying searched for the figure of the demon.

The demons didn't make a move, flying in the sky as they followed them like spectators watching a live broadcast.

"Here it comes!" Lu Qingyuan's heart pounded rapidly, almost leaping out of his throat.

Wen Ying gripped the staff tightly. His bat-like wings spread behind him, and with a gentle tap on the ground, he dashed forward.

Someone let out a blood-curdling scream, "That Demon Mirror is going for the kill!"

    "F*ck, that's not fair!"

"Why aren't the demons attacking? Why did the Demon Mirror take action?"

Wen Ying's movements were swift and elegant as he leaped over the Swarm Beast. Blood gushed from its neck, and it writhed on the ground, twitching.

The students who arrived a step too late, especially those at the forefront, wore expressions of despair, panting heavily.

"One of you...weren't you guys not supposed to attack?" someone gasped, sounding extremely dejected.

Wen Ying was using water magic to clean his blade. Hearing this, he responded with a puzzled "Huh?" "When did we say that? I wasn't aware."

When did demons make such an agreement?

Seeing Wen Ying's genuine confusion, the other party lowered their head in despair, emitting a sigh as if they had lost all desire to live.

Wen Ying was about to ask Muershi, who was nearby, what was happening when a sudden loud noise erupted from behind them. The vibrations they had sensed earlier had now intensified significantly.

It had only appeared for a couple of seconds before, and Wen Ying hadn't noticed it. But now, with the continuous vibrations, Wen Ying realized that it resembled the sound of a heartbeat.

The ground trembled as an ominously powerful aura burst forth, stirring up a fierce gale.

    "What's going on?!"

    "A magical beast?!"

"Are you kidding me? They're expecting us to deal with a magical beast that exudes such terrifying energy?!"

    Many faces turned pale.

Without anyone noticing, a blood mist had spread throughout the area. The overwhelming presence of a powerful creature brought the sensation of impending death, leaving people's minds blank with sheer terror.

Beneath the roller coaster tracks, a sharp red spike pierced through the earth, splitting the ground open. A creature ascended slowly from the soil as a bolt of white light slashed through the dark clouds, followed by a thunderous boom that echoed throughout the sky, pounding in everyone's hearts.

The ascending monster resembled a bee, but it lacked fur, its skin appeared dry and unpolished.

Its limbs were two massive, blood-red spikes, not just one pair, but three pairs in total, six sharp points in all, resembling the tips of blades.

It had three pairs of wings, translucent red with patterns resembling veins, through which a crimson glow flowed.

The creature was gray, with an arachnid-like body covered in an intricate web of unknown runes. Upon its face, there were three pairs of red, glowing compound eyes connected by red lines. It floated motionless in mid-air, exuding an eerie sense of sanctity.

This magical beast seemed incredibly malevolent.

Wen Ying stared blankly at the sudden appearance of this magical beast. He hadn't learned about such a creature in the Demon Realm; could it be from a high-ranking, powerful race?

Turning to the man beside him, whose forehead was drenched in cold sweat, Wen Ying asked, "Do you know what kind of magical beast this is?"

The man stammered, "N-No... I don't know... Never seen anything like it."

Wen Ying intended to fly towards Muershi. As soon as he moved, the motionless magical beast, which had been hovering like a stone sculpture, stirred. Its six red spike-like arms lifted up, aiming at Wen Ying, and a barrage of crimson blades shot out.

Wen Ying initially had no idea that the creature was targeting him specifically; he thought it was attacking everyone in the area. However, when he dodged, one of the monster's compound eyes shot a beam directly at him.

    Wen Ying: "???"

He quickly glanced back at the fallen bee-like magical beast on the ground. Could it be because he had defeated that bee-like magical beast that this demonic creature, resembling an evil deity, now had its sights set on him?

As the barrage of red blades approached, everyone panicked and scattered to the sides. The initial terror of the crowd lessened slightly as they realized this ominous and malevolent magical beast was now chasing after the Devil Mirror Demon.

"Everyone, disperse! That magical beast is a group attacker."

"I've already contacted the teachers! They'll be here soon!"

"The teachers should already be on their way. With such a fierce burst of aura from that magical beast, they definitely sensed it."

With a plan in place, the students calmed down a bit.

Noticing the somewhat composed academy students, Wen Ying's lips twitched. He turned his head and threw out a magic card.

The magic card transformed into several one-meter-sized lightning orbs, which took agile paths to collide with the magical beast.

Wen Ying fixed his gaze intently on its reaction.

It had emerged from the earth, possibly with some resistance to lightning-based magic.

Sure enough, when the lightning spell struck the beast, it only elicited a slight snarl from it.

The creature's snarl echoed, ethereal yet sinister, creating an odd sense of disharmony.

Once more, the monster emitted red beams from its eyes, this time all six pairs firing simultaneously, launching three in total. Wen Ying planted his foot firmly and twisted his body to dodge the first beam. Using that momentum, he leaned backward, allowing the other two beams to graze past his abdomen and lower back.

Without a direct hit, he could still feel the heat around him. Wen Ying inwardly cursed, likening the monster's eyes to laser beams.

The creature remained stationary, continuously firing red beams from its eyes and throwing red blades with its six hands. Wen Ying nimbly evaded, but the beams missed him, instead wreaking havoc on the surroundings. The carefully arranged environment became ruins as roller coaster tracks crashed down, kicking up a cloud of dust. A house not far away, struck by the red light, collapsed, and nearby trees either snapped or were sheared off.

Everyone around was dodging, and so far, no one had been injured.

Wen Ying had thrown quite a few spells at the monster, discovering that its magical resistance was ridiculously high. Despite his probing, the creature seemed completely unbothered, not even interrupting his attacks.

Though it was just a test, it was still absurd that it could take a direct hit without any issue! Wen Ying's eyes widened in astonishment. What kind of monstrous creature was this? Had the laws now allowed such a powerful beast to exist?

Wen Ying, after testing the waters, was ready to get serious. He glanced around and noticed that the demonic classmates were merely watching the spectacle, causing him to feel a sudden sense of imbalance.

He randomly chose Muershi and flew towards him.

Muershi, who had been enjoying the show, was taken aback by Wen Ying's approach and waved frantically, "Don't come here!"

Wen Ying accelerated, with the magical beast's attacks still chasing him. Muershi then ran towards Wu Shaluo.

A bemused Wu Shaluo, who had been spectating, exclaimed, "?!“ A red light narrowly missed his hair, leaving behind a burnt smell.

Damn it, even his body's reaction speed was restricted in the human realm!

Frustrated and embarrassed, Wu Shaluo charged forward, passing both Muershi and Wen Ying. Dodging the continuous barrage of red blades and lights, he channeled his magic into his hand, causing it to glow red as flames burst forth, fiercely slamming into the magical beast.

Seeing Wu Shaluo's inability to dodge just now, Wen Ying pondered.

In the human realm, his own physical strength hadn't been significantly reduced, but Wu Shaluo's seemed to have been greatly diminished. He should try testing Wu Fei, another mixed-blood demon, someday. If Wu Fei's physical strength wasn't much weaker either, it would prove that mixed-blood demons suffered less from the barriers and laws in the human realm.

As Wen Ying was lost in thought, a transparent barrier suddenly expanded, accompanied by a fierce gale, bursting outward.

Wen Ying's eyes were nearly blown shut by the fierce wind, and he raised his hand to shield them. Amidst the intermittent cries of shock around him, he vaguely perceived the situation.

In just a few seconds, Wen Ying regained control of his vision. Glancing sideways, he froze. Originally, there had been quite a crowd, but now they were scattered like garbage, collectively swept away in a curved arc.

Some instinctively tried to move forward, only to grimace in pain. One hand covered their noses while the other reached out uncertainly.

A miraculous sight unfolded. Those who reached out seemed to genuinely touch something, their hands pressing against an invisible, transparent wall.

Within this transparent barrier, besides the magical beasts, Wen Ying turned his head to see Wu Shaluo, looking around in bewilderment – he too was inside the wall.

That night, the masked figure had asked Wu Shaluo for a favor. If he agreed, he would witness the Mirror Demon in a vulnerable state.
