    Chapter 251 - Informing

    "Only once?!"

    Everyone was stunned.

Wen Ying casually divulged some information, "The angel said he doesn't wish for anyone to disturb his slumber." Technically speaking, he didn't want his corpse to be used for any nefarious purposes.

Half an hour after he came out, the angel's soul would vanish.

This was something completely unforeseen. Regardless of whether they had ill intentions or not, everyone was now very surprised. This wasn't what they had expected.

Beyond the bright lights, veiled gazes gradually fell on the Devil Mirror. Only he had entered and knew the situation inside.

Xiao Fengkan walked in front of Wen Ying and asked, "Could you please give us a detailed account of what happened inside? Also, when you said 'the angel said', did you meet him in person?"

Everyone around them pricked up their ears. For the time being, no one paid attention to the exorcist that Wen Ying had knocked out. They put aside any schemes he might have had, as their current greatest curiosity was if Wen Ying had truly met the angel in person.

This was already thousands of years later! Even an angel couldn't have lived this long in the human world, right?

Feeling the urgency around him, with everyone's gazes fixated like children eyeing candies, Wen Ying scanned his surroundings, observing people's expressions. As he did so, he slowly spoke, "The angel's remnant image I saw was there to convey something to its descendants."

Seeing that Wen Ying didn't seem intent on continuing, Xiao Fengkan couldn't help but ask, "What did it convey?"

"It's a private matter," Wen Ying replied, heading outside, "but you'll know in due time."

Xiao Fengkan froze, his lips pursed as he watched the Demon Mirror depart with such decisiveness, secretly resenting the situation.

He turned to look at Lou Wangmiao, "The angel might have mentioned something important. Aren't you concerned? A demon now knows what the angel specifically left behind for its descendants."

Guo Desheng frowned, "I do feel somewhat uneasy about this."

But Lou Wangmiao maintained his composed demeanor, calmly stating, "Didn't Wen Ying just say that we'll know eventually?"

    "But..."

Lou Wangmiao continued, "Can you really tell if he's telling the truth or not? Instead of wasting time on that, it would be more productive to investigate if we can really no longer enter this room."

Xiao Fengkan was taken aback, realizing the negative impact this could have on the association. He kept his feelings hidden and didn't argue further with Lou Wangmiao. Instead, he turned to instruct his subordinates to examine the walls.

The door was made of an indestructible material, unlike the surrounding walls which were more susceptible to breaches.

Wen Ying stepped out of the underground chamber with a composed gait, yet his body was tense, prepared for any potential ambush. Though the likelihood of an attack was virtually nil – with the Vice President of the Association inside and several demonic classmates outside, who were well aware that the Law Suppression technique had proven ineffective against him in their previous encounter – only a fool would attempt to ambush him directly.

Exiting the chamber, Wen Ying scanned his surroundings. Upon spotting the clearly magically constructed square structure, a corner of his mouth twitched; they certainly knew how to indulge themselves.

    "He's out."

Perceiving Wen Ying's approaching aura, Beros opened the door and emerged.

Seeing Beros, Wen Ying strode forward, his pace quickening into a light jog as he threw himself onto Beros, wrapping his arms around the demon's neck.

For a few seconds, Beros was taken aback by Wen Ying's embrace, which even entwined his legs around Beros' waist. As the surrounding gazes shifted towards them, Beros felt a bit embarrassed and hurriedly retreated back into the room, shutting the door behind him.

Upon turning around after closing the door, he was greeted by Muershi and Essence's exaggerated teasing. Beros' expression darkened, and he shot them a fierce warning glance.

Lan Jiaying rolled his eyes discreetly when no demons were looking, his expression a mix of disgust and bewilderment. He couldn't fathom how Beros could have become infatuated with Wen Ying.

Koroy hovered above his magical array, moving closer to circle around Belos with curiosity. He asked Wen Ying, whose affection was still clinging onto Belos, "What's wrong with you? It's as if we've been apart for decades, yet it's only been a day."

If not for the numerous demons present, Belos would have enjoyed Wen Ying's proximity. But there were too many demons here!

Resting his head on Belos' shoulder, Wen Ying glanced at Koroy nonchalantly and said lazily, "Something happened, um... but I can't talk about it just yet."

Koroy pulled out his crystal ball.

Wen Ying scoffed softly, speaking with confidence, "It involves the laws, do you want to spit blood?"

Koroy was taken aback, his smug expression turning gloomy as his tone lost its vigor, "You're cheating."

Wen Ying immediately retorted, "Your crystal ball is the real cheat!"

Wu Shaluo, who had just been threatened by Koroy, nodded vigorously in agreement.

Lan Jiaying gently tapped the table to gather everyone's attention towards him. As Wen Ying looked over, Lan Jiaying asked, "Is there anything that affects our overall plan?"

As he spoke, he opened an enchantment to shield their voices from spreading. The surrounding demons, to varying degrees, restrained their jesting, and the atmosphere turned solemn.

Wen Ying dismounted from Bellos, who instinctively reached out to draw him back, his hand pausing mid-air before changing course.

    Damn it! Bellos cursed inwardly.

Wen Ying's demeanor turned serious as he replied, "Yes."

That single word intensified the gravity of the situation. The room fell silent, the air seemingly frozen in time.

Lan Jiaying tapped her fingers on the table, "It seems the impact is significant."

Since leaving the room, Wen Ying had been formulating a coherent explanation in his mind, careful not to divulge too much, such as the fact that he had inherited angelic power to become a Second Generation Angel.

He was not yet fully a Second Generation Angel; the fragments of the Law had not been entirely absorbed by him.

In a concise but startling revelation, Wen Ying spoke, "The true mastermind behind the Church is an angel."

    The demons were astonished.

    Bellos: "...An angel?"

"Weren't those angels no longer in the human realm?" Muershi's tone was rapid and anxious. "If they're still here, then we..."

Lan Jiaying immediately stood up. "Explain this right now!" His excitement was so intense that scales started to appear on his face, and his eyes transformed into vertical slits.

For if the angels were still in the human realm, the Demon King's plan would have crumbled before it could succeed.

His father should have been the Demon King who successfully invaded the human realm!

Wen Ying raised his hands halfway. "Calm down first, don't get too agitated. It's not as serious as you think."

Within a few breaths, Lan Jiaying managed to suppress the scales on his face.

"An angel in the human realm – isn't that a serious matter?"

There was an unusual absence of Muershi's usual casualness in his tone. The carefree demeanor innate to the Wicked Bird was gone, making the solemn Wicked Bird appear even more menacing and inscrutable.

"Listen to me first," Wen Ying said with a headache. "The angels aren't in the human realm. The angel pulling the strings is still outside, but he has a means to communicate with the Church."

"What's crucial now is that the angel began planning years before his human vessel died. Over thousands of years, he used the Church to cultivate a vessel for his descent. With the barrier weakened and that vessel in place, he can forcefully break through at any moment to descend into the human realm."

"Wait before you ask, let me finish in one breath," Wen Ying promptly interrupted Wu Shaluo, who was about to speak.

Then, Wen Ying recounted the angel's scheme to the demons in its entirety, omitting the part about the angel transmitting all of his law fragments to him. He simply said that he obtained something from the angel that allowed him to borrow the power of the law at any time.
