Shao Qi, placing a hand on Zhou You's shoulder, said, "Stay here and watch. They might have more coming. I'm going after that mutant Fire Rhino. Every part of it is valuable."

Zhou You nodded, "Alright, make it quick."

As Shao Qi ran off, Zhou You kept watch. He saw some nocturnal creatures, hunted a few for the next day's meal, and placed a large rock at the entrance to remain inconspicuous.

Soon, the sound of chaotic footsteps approached. Zhou You hid in the shadows, watching as seven or eight people, many injured, rushed over.

"We can't continue like this. Mutant beasts are sensitive to the scent of blood. They can track us down," remarked a middle-aged man.

An impatient young voice responded, "Then what are we waiting for? Those injured should split up and divert those beasts. The rest of us can hide."

Upon hearing those words, Zhou You frowned. Glancing at the injured, their expressions looked grim. The plan was sound, but it was akin to sending them to their deaths.

"Young Master, half of us are injured. If Ah Chong and the rest leave, it would be near impossible for the three of us to protect you."

"What a bunch of incompetents! Before we set out, what did you promise my father? You claimed that most mutated creatures hibernate this season and that this area, being under base control, would be safe. Yet here we are, on day one, with most of our group compromised."

"Please calm down, Young Master. Raising your voice could attract more mutated creatures."

"Decide quickly. If something happens to me, none of you will live to tell the tale."

Someone couldn't help but complain, "If you hadn't provoked that mutated snake, how could we have gotten injured? How could we have attracted such a large horde of creatures?"

Young Master Wang spat in disdain, "You all act so high and mighty when taking my family's money. I thought you were capable. Just a two-headed cobra, and you couldn’t even handle it. How embarrassing!"

"Young Master, do you realize that was a high-tier mutated creature? Had it been just us, dealing with such a creature wouldn’t have been a problem. But you’re only at the level of an advanced martial artist. Any mishap and we’d fail in our duty to the head of the house."

"All this talk, and it boils down to your incompetence! If we return without bagging even one high-tier mutant, I'll be the laughing stock back home."

Zhou You snorted silently. A reckless and incompetent young master was truly a menace.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash. Not far away, a building collapsed, revealing two massive heads of a cobra. It quickly spotted them and slithered over, crushing anything in its path.

Zhou You realized the dire situation. Given the snake's size, even their supermarket hideout wouldn't hold. They needed a change of plan, fast.

Alerting his companions would waste precious time. Zhou You put on his mask and goggles and shouted, "Follow me!"

A figure appeared out of the darkness. Instead of feeling relieved, the group eyed him warily, "Who are you?"

"No time for questions! If you want to live, follow me!" Zhou You took the initiative, grabbed Young Master Wang’s hand, and started running. The rest, though hesitant, quickly followed.

"Friend or foe? Release him now, or we won’t hold back!"

Annoyed, Zhou You retorted, "Worry about that giant snake behind you first!" His agility and speed, reaching several hundred yards in a blink, made it clear he was a master. The group immediately ceased their hostility.

Zhou You was unfamiliar with the area. But with the snake bulldozing its way, taking detours was a waste of time. So, he dashed towards an open area in the city.

After Shao Qi took down the fire rhinoceros, those who had fled returned, their eyes filled with greed. Although the creature was mid-tier, its value was immense. Claiming it would secure their livelihood for years.

"Who are you? That rhino was ours! Why did you interfere? If you know what’s good for you, leave now, and we'll forget this ever happened." Chen Ge, judging by Shao Qi's youthful appearance, assumed he was no match.

Without a word, Shao Qi drew his gun and shot at Chen Ge's thigh. Dodging the first shot, Chen Ge couldn't evade the second. Coldly, Shao Qi remarked, "Leave if you wish to live, or tonight marks your end."

Clutching his leg, Chen Ge fired back at Shao Qi and yelled, "Aren’t you going to help?!"

Effortlessly dodging the bullets, Shao Qi hurled the massive rhino's corpse at them. Most fled in terror, but Chen Ge, immobilized, was crushed beneath its weight.

Seeing how easily Shao Qi lifted the rhino, the others lost the will to resist. They even abandoned their leader’s body, disappearing into the night.

Zhou You arrived with his group, finding Shao Qi standing atop the rhino's corpse, knife in hand, deciding where to make a cut. Running over, he asked, "There's a two-headed cobra following us. Want to take it down?"

Shao Qi caught sight of the enormous creature approaching, drawing a sharp intake of breath, "How did we provoke this thing? It won't be an easy fight."

Zhou You pushed the dazed person in his grip out of the way and rolled up his sleeves, declaring, "Together, there's no mutant beast we can't handle."
