Chapter344
Long Qian and Zhuo Hao, both badly injured, sat to the side tending to their wounds. They then picked up their weapons and joined Miao Miao. They might not be fit for a fight, but if humans approached, their guns would still do the killing.

Chapter 174: You are My True Treasure
Zhou You and Bai Hu didn't rush to leave. They hid in nearby snow, watching the distant dust and rubble rising and settling. They also saw several figures scrambling out from the debris.
Though surviving a building collapse is tough, these warriors aren't easily crushed. In the end, more than a dozen managed to escape.
Those who escaped didn't even have time to rest or heal. They immediately found cover, waiting for a counterattack.
"Did Liang Ge make it out?" a bearded, burly man asked his companion.
"He did. I caught a glimpse of him running towards the back door."
"Damn, we really bit off more than we could chew this time. They counterattacked so quickly and even located our hideout so fast. I wonder if our mole has been captured." If their informant was tortured for information, it wouldn't be surprising that their location was known.
"Wu Ge…"
The bearded man, hearing the fearful tone of his companion, followed his pointing hand and took a sharp intake of breath. "What... what’s going on? Why is there a mutated tiger here?"
Not far from their hiding place, a white tiger stood up from the snow, shook off its coat, and started walking gracefully towards them.
Everyone held their breath, watching the fierce beast approach as if it was strolling in its own garden. Their terror surpassed that of the collapsing building. The building fell in an instant, but now they watched, helplessly, as their lives hung in the balance.
Can we escape? Everyone calculated their chances. The first to bolt was still a distance away. If he stayed hidden, it would mean certain death. Might as well run before the beast got too close.
Seeing one man break cover, the bearded man also made a run for it with his companion in the direction the tiger came from, hoping luck was on their side. They scattered in different directions, hoping at least some could escape the tiger’s grasp.
A series of screams echoed. Without looking back, the bearded man shouted to his companion, "Split up!"
They parted ways outside the gate. If the tiger caught up, they hoped at least to drag their enemies down with them.
But before he could make the turn, a figure emerged from the snow, aiming a strike at Wu Ge's head.
Feeling the gust from the approaching palm, the burly man thought, "This is it. I'm going to be tiger food." As he felt the pain, he made a laborious turn to see a handsome young man behind him, with one hand still outstretched.
"You..." He collapsed. Zhou You dragged him away, leaving the fate of the rest to the playful white tiger, suspecting none would escape.
Those trapped in the ruins had all been retrieved. Two were dead, one severely injured, and several more had minor injuries. The mood was somber. Bonds forged in life-threatening situations develop quickly. Seeing a comrade who was joking around moments ago now lifeless was unbearable.
When Zhou You returned dragging someone, the others were busy with the aftermath. They couldn’t carry their fallen comrades, so they burnt their bodies on the spot, intending to take the ashes home.
Once everything was in order, the group gathered around the unconscious man, asking Zhou You, "Who is this?"
Zhou You recounted the situation, omitting the part about the white tiger aiding him. He simply said he discovered some individuals hiding in the municipal building, learned the truth from their conversations, and retaliated by blowing up their hideout. This man had escaped from the wreckage.
"Wake him up for questioning," Shao Qi ordered, handing the man over to Miao Miao. She dragged him aside with a sinister grin, and shortly after, intermittent screams could be heard by all.
Many whispered questions to Zhuo Hao, "Has Ms. Miao always been this ruthless?"
Having rested for a bit, Zhuo Hao was much better. He glanced towards Miao Miao and replied, "I haven't experienced it, so I can't say. But if any of you are curious, why not try firsthand?"
"Oh, no, we'd rather not," they replied. They were just curious. The fact that Miao Miao was by Captain Shao's side all along and his close aide meant her abilities were beyond doubt. But they hadn't realized she was an interrogation expert – a skill not many possessed.
The women in the team were formidable, no wonder many men were hesitant about marrying female warriors. But for superior genetics, many put up with it, understanding you can't have it all.
Miao Miao returned swiftly, wiping her hands. "I didn't extract much valuable information. They arrived here two days ago, knowing we would pass through. They set up an ambush and coordinated with Chen Shu on the assault location. As for how they communicated with Chen Shu, he didn’t know. Their leader handled it."
"Where's their leader?"
Raising an eyebrow, Miao Miao concealed any mention of the white tiger and answered, "After the building collapsed, only a few escaped. In their rush, they scattered in all directions. He might have died inside, or perhaps he fled."
"We should go and check."
In a deep voice, Shao Qi posed another question, "When did Chen Shu flee? If he was afraid of dying, he wouldn't have been an insider. Since he's not scared, where could he have gone?"
