Insect Queen

In the year 7000 of the star calendar, the Insect race remains the most formidable presence in the galaxy.

Unfortunately, their entire existence hinges on pilfering the residual glory of their Queen.

Without the Queen, the Insects turn increasingly frenzied and brutal, akin to desperate tightrope walkers at their wit’s end, suspended high above the ground.

They also endure cycles of decline. During these times, even the higher Insects become as vulnerable as lambs, subject to the trampling and torment of other races, enduring the painful cycle.

Hoping in their fantasies for just a glimmer of solace and hope.

The true Insect Queens are not, as humans imagine, always sheltered flowers in a greenhouse.

Their lifespans are extensive, usually requiring protection and guidance only during their fragile birth phase. Then they enter a slow-developing juvenile phase, followed by a period of maturation where both their psychic and combat abilities peak, before finally reaching the end of their life.

However, Rei, the only new Queen born in three thousand years, opened her eyes to a world filled with uncontrollable and ruthless slaughter.

She was too weak, a single misstep away from being devoured by her near-collapsing race.

Her only desperate cries for help vanished in the wind, as if the whole world was deaf to her voice.

“No… I will survive,” she whispered resolutely, her tone stubborn, her eyes calm and undisturbed, like a tranquil, eternally resting galaxy.
