Chapter 75: A Couple
by 云水迷踪Chapter 75: A Couple
Steam rose, gradually fogging up the glass of the shower stall. The girl stood under the showerhead, rinsing the foam from her hair and body. The warm water carried the fresh scent of the bath gel, gently caressing her skin. Ming Can had never used such a cool-scented product before, finding it too plain and lacking in warmth, but she was not unfamiliar with this fragrance. As the aroma grew more intense in the confined space, she felt as if every pore on her body was filled with a scent similar to someone else’s, almost as if she were being marinated.
The light filtered through the mist, and Ming Can hesitated to look down. She slowly scrubbed her skin with a disposable sponge and a loofah. The loofah was soft, and even when she pressed a little too hard, it still made her spine tingle. She hastily rubbed a few times, knowing that the sweat from the afternoon’s PE class had already been licked clean by the dog.
The temperature in the shower stall continued to rise, and her wandering thoughts inevitably drifted back to what had happened not long ago.
At first, Chi Xiao had taken the lead, pulling her closer and lifting her higher to kiss her passionately. Ming Can tilted her head back, feeling her heart grow hotter and her body colder the higher he lifted her. With her personality, she couldn’t just let him have his way, so she reversed their positions and kissed him. Chi Xiao was straightforward, and at the moment of her hesitation, he pinched the spot she had nearly bitten earlier, almost provocatively.
It was then that Ming Can confirmed Chi Xiao had taken a shower tonight. The taste in his mouth matched the scent of the bath gel she was using now.
Chi Xiao was tall and broad-shouldered, with a beautifully sculpted frame covered in lean, well-defined muscles. His chest was particularly well-developed, feeling great when she didn’t press too hard, but mostly quite bony tonight, as if he couldn’t control himself.
Both of their skin tones were very fair. Ming Can had always thought Chi Xiao’s skin was thick, like it was carved from an eternal glacier, impervious to any change. But today, she discovered he blushed more easily than she did, each kiss leaving a mark like a strawberry, making her want to keep going.
Thinking about this, Ming Can couldn’t help but smile, feeling a bit dizzy from the long shower. She quickly rinsed off the foam and brought in the underwear she had worn that day to wash.
Finally done, she stepped out of the shower and dried herself with a towel, glancing at the neatly folded clean clothes on the marble countertop.
There were no clothes for her here. In her hurry to shower, she hadn’t had time to buy anything, so she had to make do with Chi Xiao’s clothes.
Ming Can put on the oversized clothes, standing in front of the mirror and applying some basic skincare products from the countertop, barely moisturizing her skin.
Then she blow-dried her hair, feeling as if she had spent an eternity in the bathroom, before slowly walking out with the towel.
Miaomiao was sleeping soundly on the bed. Ming Can tiptoed to the master bedroom door, walked into the living room, and saw Chi Xiao sitting on the sofa watching TV, still wearing the same clothes.
Chi Xiao looked up at her, noticing her flushed face, her almond eyes sparkling, and her long, soft hair cascading over her shoulders. She wore his white T-shirt, which was long enough to cover her thighs, and his cotton pants, which she had rolled up to expose a small segment of her pale ankle. She clutched a towel, her curves subtly revealed under the slightly damp T-shirt, clearly wearing nothing underneath.
Ming Can, holding the towel with her freshly washed underwear inside, felt a bit uncomfortable and said softly, “I’m done.”
“Mm-hmm,” Chi Xiao replied. “I’ll go next.”
He got up from the sofa and headed toward the master bedroom.
“Wait, you’re going to wash again?” Ming Can called out, “I just finished…”
Chi Xiao nodded, seemingly unconcerned about the steam, scent, and wet floor left behind, calmly passing by her.
Ming Can stood there for a moment, patting her warm cheeks, thinking it might be good for him to wash again, giving her a chance to dry her underwear.
She went to the laundry room, threw the underwear into the dryer, and sat nearby with her phone.
Twenty minutes later, she slipped into the guest bathroom to put on her dried underwear, then returned to the master bedroom, where Chi Xiao was still in the shower.
She usually took a long time to shower and wasn’t sure how long men typically took. Twenty minutes should be more than enough, right?
The room was well-insulated, and she could hardly hear any sounds from the bathroom while sitting at the head of the bed, keeping Miaomiao company.
After some time, when Ming Can felt her eyelids getting heavy, she heard a faint door opening from the bathroom.
She immediately perked up, leaning against the headboard without moving. Moments later, Chi Xiao walked over, drying his hair with a towel, wearing the same style of clothes as her. His lashes were still damp, and his amber eyes seemed washed clean, clear and striking. His gaze, when it met hers, felt almost tangible, tightening her chest and quickening her breath.
“You’ll sleep here tonight,” Chi Xiao said, “with Miaomiao.”
“Okay,” Ming Can nodded, asking instinctively, “What about you?”
“I’ll find another room,” he glanced at her, suddenly smiling with an ambiguous expression, “Actually, this bed is big enough.”
Ming Can: “I don’t think it’s big enough.”
“That’s not the point,” Chi Xiao said lightly, “The point is, I don’t want to disturb the child if we sleep together.”
Ming Can: “…”
She couldn’t help but recall how just holding and kissing each other had filled the room with heavy breathing and sucking sounds, making her feel hot and flustered.
Moreover, Chi Xiao didn’t seem to use much force, yet she found herself moaning uncontrollably.
It was better not to bring it up, but mentioning it made Ming Can suddenly angry: “Get out… now.”
Before she finished speaking, Chi Xiao suddenly tossed the towel over his shoulder, leaned down, and captured her chin, kissing her.
Their lips clashed, and his tongue forcefully entered, stealing a hint of sweetness.
He quickly straightened up, pinching her red, soft cheek, and whispered, “Goodnight.”
Ming Can leaned against the headboard, panting, watching Chi Xiao leave. She felt that the brief kiss was too intimate, and the sticky sensation she had just washed away was starting to return.
Thankfully, he hadn’t suggested they sleep in the same room; otherwise, she might have thrown a pillow at him.
After leaving the master bedroom, Chi Xiao casually chose a spare room and walked in.
Apart from the master bedroom, the rest of the rooms in the house were decorated randomly during the renovation, with bed linens and other items bought haphazardly. They were fine for accommodating friends and brothers, but Ming Can and Miaomiao couldn’t sleep in such places.
It was late, and Chi Xiao checked his phone messages; the model problem was almost resolved.
He pulled back the covers and lay down, staring at the ceiling for a while before raising his hand to pinch his brow.
That goodnight kiss had been a bit too intense.
Maybe he should take another shower.
The next day.
-
In his dream, Miaomiao felt himself tightly wrapped in soft vines. He instinctively thought it was his mother hugging him, but the scent was a bit like his father’s.
When she woke up, she was alone in the bed.
Miaomiao rubbed his eyes and climbed out of bed. Hearing the sound, Ming Can poked her head out from the bathroom: "Baby’s awake."
"Mommy." Miaomiao called out in a babyish voice, walking over to Ming Can and leaning against her leg while yawning, "You’re wearing something really strange today."
Ming Can cleared her throat: "This is the latest trend... wide and loose..."
Miaomiao: "It looks like Daddy’s clothes."
Ming Can: …
She couldn’t come up with any more excuses.
After helping Miaomiao finish his morning routine, they went to the dining room. Several thermal food containers were laid out on the table. Ming Can opened them one by one, revealing a variety of exquisite breakfast dishes inside.
Chi Xiao walked out of the kitchen with a bowl and chopsticks in hand. Ming Can teased him, "Why did you buy breakfast outside? I was looking forward to trying your cooking."
"I overslept today," Chi Xiao yawned lazily. "Just make do with this."
He seemed quite confident, calling takeout a makeshift solution.
Miaomiao climbed onto his chair, his eyes darting back and forth between his parents. He asked in surprise, "Why are both of your clothes the same?"
The air grew silent for a moment.
Chi Xiao glanced at Ming Can, raised an eyebrow, and smiled faintly, "This is called a couple’s outfit."
Ming Can also sat down, holding a cup of hot soy milk with both hands, sipping it slowly through a straw without contradicting him.
Miaomiao’s eyes widened, "What’s a couple’s outfit?"
"A couple’s outfit is..." Chi Xiao tapped the table lightly with his fingers, "clothes that couples wear."
Isn’t that obvious?
Ming Can’s lips twitched. She put down her soy milk cup, reached up to pinch her earlobe, and looked into Miaomiao’s eyes, feeling a bit nervous but very serious as she said, "Miaomiao, there’s something I need to tell you."
She took a deep breath and continued, "Daddy and Mommy are dating now."
Miaomiao was stunned.
Daddy.
Mommy.
Dating?!
"Dating..." Miaomiao’s little brain was working hard, "Does dating mean that Daddy likes Mommy, and Mommy likes Daddy? Is that what it means?"
"Y-Yeah, something like that," Ming Can stammered, finding the scene strangely surreal.
A child’s biological parents actually had to formally inform their child about their relationship.
Miaomiao’s eyes sparkled even more. Suddenly, he propped himself up on the table with both hands, standing excitedly on his chair, and looked at Ming Can, asking, "Does Mommy like Daddy?"
Ming Can was taken aback, not understanding why he was asking her this question again.
"Uh... yeah," Ming Can pressed her lips together, forcing out a single syllable of agreement, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
Miaomiao, who clearly heard that his mother’s heart and mouth were in sync, still seemed a bit incredulous and asked again, "Really? Mommy really likes Daddy?"
"Why are you asking so much..." Ming Can felt a bit helpless.
Miaomiao remembered that his mother had once told him that she would never like his father.
Mommy was just the mother of the child, and Daddy was just the father of the child. They would love Miaomiao together, but they didn’t need to have feelings for each other.
So now, Miaomiao had to confirm this clearly!
"Mommy, I think your answer wasn’t sincere enough," Miaomiao pointed out. "You should look into Daddy’s eyes and say loudly that you like him!"
Ming Can: …
Wow, amazing story💕🙏🏻😭
