Chapter 88: Exotic Invasion (Part Five)
by 吱吱复吱吱Chapter 88: Exotic Invasion (Part Five)
Fully transformed, Cang Ye withdrew his claws and repeatedly stabbed Cang Mu's body.
After several strikes, he finally retracted his claws.
The beastly claws retracted, and Cang Ye's dark eyes revealed an evil aura.
Cang Mu staggered back, clutching his mangled chest.
His eyes were filled with shock and disbelief. "You didn't die?"
Cang Ye walked forward and viciously grabbed Cang Mu's chin with his sharp claws, leaving deep marks on the other's chin.
"I did die back then, or so I thought. You stabbed me in the back, piercing my heart with a knife. I lost consciousness on the spot.
But... after that, you sent me to the modified humans lab. Thanks to you, I was brought back to life."
"You killed second brother, and probably third brother as well. Now you've set your sights on Cang Cheng. I never understood why you wanted to kill us all, but now it makes sense."
As Cang Ye spoke, he used his nail to slice open Cang Mu's carotid artery.
Bright yellow blood flowed freely.
"You're a half-breed from the Light Dog Clan. You were born weak, and the only way for you to gain strength was by killing your siblings. No wonder you had to kill so many."
With that, Cang Ye slapped Cang Mu hard.
The mask fell, revealing a face that was familiar across the entire Canglan Star Region. It was the face of the crown prince, Cang Mu, who had a good reputation in the star region and was most likely to become the next ruler.
Cang Mu's golden hair was disheveled, and his expression was dark.
He clearly hadn't expected to encounter the fourth prince, whom he thought he had killed, on Sunset Star, nor had he expected to be unmasked and seen by so many.
But no matter.
Since he had been seen, he would just have to ensure that all the Sunset Star natives died.
As long as he killed Cang Ye and Cang Cheng, his power would increase dramatically, and he could conquer the Canglan Star Region.
"I didn't expect that my dear brother wasn't quite dead. No wonder I always felt like my strength was lacking."
Cang Mu laughed, his former gentle expression gone, replaced by an arrogance that viewed everything as insignificant.
"I was planning to kill Cang Cheng and obtain the final bit of strength before conquering the Canglan Star Region. But now... since an extra bit of strength has been handed to me, I'll take it."
The bright yellow blood that flowed from him solidified, instantly turning into a flash of light that enveloped the surrounding area in blinding radiance.
Cang Ye instinctively closed his eyes and stepped back.
But his speed couldn't match that of the light. A beam of bright light easily broke through his defense from behind and pierced through his body.
It was too fast...
The Cang Mu who had been subdued by Cang Ye had already disappeared into light particles, and in the next instant, Cang Mu, having reshaped his body with the light, appeared behind Cang Ye. His fingertips gathered several beams of light, piercing Cang Ye's body like ten thousand arrows.
With ease, Cang Mu smiled. "The Light Dog Clan controls light, Cang Ye. You were too careless."
Cang Ye's body swayed unsteadily, cold sweat streaming down him as he convulsed in pain, but his expression remained sharp.
"Of course, I know the characteristics of the Light Dog Clan. So tell me, why would I attack you at close range? Do you really think I'm someone who can be blinded by hatred?"
Cang Mu frowned, feeling a sudden sharp pain in his chest, his energy flow becoming sluggish.
"Poison?"
"That's right, a special poison designed for modified aliens who can elementalize their bodies. It's a special gift from your little brother—hope you enjoy it, Big Brother."
Ever since regaining his composure, Cang Ye had been plotting his revenge.
He found Ming Bai and hacked into the Crown Prince's files, discovering that the Crown Prince had one-eighth Light Dog Clan heritage. He then approached Mù Xīng, offering his body for a month of unrestricted experimentation in exchange for Mù Xīng developing a special poison to deal with elemental humans.
Cang Ye had originally planned to take revenge on his own; he didn't want to drag Cang Cheng or the people of Setting Sun Star into this. But today, with Cang Mu arriving at Setting Sun Star, such a good opportunity was too good to pass up.
While Cang Mu hadn't reacted yet, Cang Ye endured the pain and retreated to Cang Cheng's side.
A twisted sense of satisfaction washed over him.
He put the isolating metal back on, the black skin of the modified human receding to half his body, revealing a pitiful and pale half of his face.
Cang Ye, like a boneless being, rested his chin on Cang Cheng's shoulder, entrusting himself to Cang Cheng.
In a pleading voice, he whispered, "Brother, please get revenge for me."
Cang Cheng glanced at Cang Ye's heart, pierced like a sieve, with blood gushing out like a waterfall.
If not for Cang Ye's modified body, with his heart transplanted elsewhere, that strike would have been fatal.
Cang Cheng handed Cang Ye a vial of healing potion and summoned a mud golem to support him.
Then, he faced Cang Mu, scrutinizing his blood-related brother once more.
In his memory, the First Prince Cang Mu was a master of balance, offending no one and flattering no one. Others praised him for being modest and elegant, and the people of the Canglan Star Region believed he was worthy of being the next ruler, a guaranteed successor to the power.
Yet, this very First Prince was actually a hybrid of the Light Dog Clan from another star system. Taking advantage of his high likelihood of succession, he secretly eliminated many of his brothers.
No one would have expected the First Prince to betray his own family, especially since he seemed to have no reason to do so.
Cang Cheng thought of something. "Were you behind the weapon leak?"
Cang Mu shrugged. "Hilmeth's reputation and tenacity were too much. I didn't want any formidable opponents in my Canglan Star Region."
"Did you kill Third Brother Cang Junting?"
"Naturally."
Cang Mu admitted, "He was my pawn, a tool I used to manipulate events. I planned for him to eliminate you during the Exchange Competition, hoping to reap the benefits without lifting a finger. But who knew he'd fail so miserably."
"No..." Cang Mu's tone shifted, giving Cang Cheng a sinister smile. "You're a wild card, Cang Cheng. Cang Junting is far inferior to you."
Who would have thought that the quiet and infamous Fifth Prince was actually ANKEN, the mastermind behind the Spirit Rune revolution on the Star Net?
Who would have thought that the defenses of the border Setting Sun Star would rival those of the main planet?
Cang Cheng is the biggest wildcard in Cang Mu's plan.
"Has the Weapon Institute not developed any new weapons in 10 years because of you?"
"That’s none of my doing."
Cang Mu shook his head. "Those old fools feared being replaced, so they purged anyone talented from the institute. Some were openly accused of fabricated crimes and expelled from the main planet, while others mysteriously died in accidents. I simply looked the other way and helped them clean up."
"After all, the Canglan Star Region values harmony, and my way of handling things isn't strange."
"But speaking of the weapons on your planet..."
Cang Mu noticed that the weapons used by the Sunset Star natives were custom-made, not only more powerful than those circulating in the star region but also featuring the first Spirit Rune weapons to appear in the Canglan Star Region.
It clicked for Cang Mu.
"You saved weapon designer M."
Cang Cheng didn't hide it. "Just lucky."
Cang Mu then realized that Sunset Star had the once-genius weapon designer M, individuals who could create potions to inhibit the elemental transformation of exotic races, and even now... Hilmeth, the strongest warrior in the star region, had close ties with Sunset Star.
How did this small planet become so powerful?
If allowed to develop further, it might become the second core planet of the Canglan Star Region.
He had to crush Sunset Star before it became a threat!
"Catching up with family is enough, Cang Cheng. I admire you, but how unfortunate that you are my brother?"
Cang Mu gathered energy, and all the light particles around him converged.
Layer upon layer, like massive mountains rising from the ground.
Behind him, a towering figure emerged, shrouded in a golden aura. An armored Light Dog Clan giant, wielding weapons, loomed over the city.
The giant Light Dog Clan member was towering, almost as high as the sky.
It exuded a majestic and powerful aura, causing the surrounding star beasts to tremble and whimper in fear.
When the Light Dog Clan members saw the giant, they knelt, worshipping it with utmost sincerity and fear.
As the pressure intensified, standing before the giant Light Dog Clan member, Cang Cheng felt a suffocating pressure.
Strong, incredibly strong, as powerful as a forbidden spell mage.
But Cang Cheng wasn’t afraid—only excited. This was the challenge he had been waiting for. His pure black eyes gleamed.
His demeanor changed abruptly, from a hidden night to a sharp, exposed blade.
He held a Cang Stone in his hand, absorbing its energy to replenish his magic.
Just another big dog-headed giant.
He intended to reduce the Light Dog giant to rubble before him, ensuring that these invaders who dared to attack would never again dare to wage war on Luori Star.
Golden sparks flickered in Cang Cheng's eyes as he began drawing Spirit Runes with both hands at once.
His left hand drew ice, while his right hand summoned fire. The clash of ice and fire unfolded into a surreal scene behind Cang Cheng.
On the left was an icy tundra, with howling winds and snow-covered plains.
On the right was a fiery magma field, with flames erupting and ash floating in the air.
The snow and magma continued to gather, as if they stretched endlessly toward the heavens.
Then, with a strong energy fluctuation, the snow and magma took on physical form.
With antlers, a serpent's body, fish-like scales, and eagle talons, a dragon over a hundred meters long emerged within the icy and fiery spectacle.
The ice dragon and fire dragon spiraled upward, soaring into the sky.
They then rapidly descended, forming two beams of light that gathered around Cang Cheng.
The two dragons bowed their heads to Cang Cheng, signaling their absolute submission.
After gently touching their horns, Cang Cheng faced the giant Light Dog behind Cang Mu, not backing down in the slightest.
"Let's see whether your Light Dog is stronger, or my dragons."
The two dragons roared and charged towards the giant Light Dog behind Cang Mu.
The ice dragon wrapped around the Light Dog's arm, its frost spreading rapidly.
The fire dragon breathed flames at the Light Dog, causing numerous explosions on its body.
The three creatures became entangled in a fierce battle.
Harnessing multiple elemental forces, the Dragon Element Domain shaped elemental dragons, dealing devastating damage to the enemy.
This rune also altered the elemental composition of the surrounding area.
Given Cang Cheng's current magic power, using this spell while maintaining Earth Guard was extremely taxing.
Summing two dragons was already his limit.
His magic power was rapidly draining, but the Cang Stones quickly replenished it, a sensation that was somewhat uncomfortable for Cang Cheng.
However, he dared not show any sign of this discomfort.
The threat the giant Light Dog posed to Luori Star was catastrophic; Cang Cheng had no doubt that it could destroy half the planet with a single strike.
He had to eliminate it here, once and for all.
The ice dragon froze half of the giant Light Dog's body, while the fire dragon demolished the other half.
Seizing the opportunity, Cang Cheng called out, "Ming Bai, now!"
The two dragons swiftly retreated.
The long-range space cannon above the planet rotated 180 degrees, aiming at Sunset Star and the giant Light Dog Clan member.
To prevent the space cannon from obliterating Sunset Star, Ming Bai regulated the energy output.
The Cang Stones in the energy ring were consumed and destroyed, completing the energy injection in an instant.
Boom! A massive amount of energy entered the black hole space.
At the same time, a black hole appeared above the giant Light Dog Clan member. The space cannon's attack passed through the black hole and instantly reached its target.
The target was struck amidst the deafening roar.
The giant Light Dog Clan member instantly shattered into light fragments, filling the entire sky with glowing points.
An attack combining Spirit Runes and high technology.
This was the most powerful weapon Sunset Star could deploy at this stage.
The ice and fire dragons returned behind Cang Cheng, nudging him affectionately with their horns.
However, Cang Cheng found them too extreme and turned his head away without touching them.
Cang Cheng kept his focus on Cang Mu without any slack. Naturally, he hoped that the previous attack would have been a fatal blow to Cang Mu.
But unfortunately… Cang Mu's strength was not that weak.
From the huge crater created by the bombardment, a voice full of arrogance echoed.
“Hahahaha! You really surprise me, Cang Cheng!”
As the smoke cleared, Cang Cheng was seen hovering in the air, and Cang Mu, who was previously in human form, had transformed into a Light Dog Clan member, with a pair of dog ears on his head and a lightning-shaped light tail hanging in the air.
There were many small wounds on his body, oozing yellowish blood.
He looked beaten up, but Cang Mu had only suffered minor injuries.
An S-class physique was not easily broken, and the giant Light Dog Clan member had just protected him with all its strength.
Cang Cheng used a space cannon to defeat the giant Light Dog Clan member.
But this was not the end.
“The giant Light Dog Clan member is not just about looking formidable.”
Cang Mu mobilized his mental energy.
The light fragments of the giant Light Dog Clan member floated in the air, turning the sky into a golden translucent hue, which looked very beautiful from afar.
However, within this golden glow was murderous intent.
“Light Burst!”
The light particles accelerated in all directions, causing anything they touched to explode.
A fragment no bigger than a thumbnail caused explosions equivalent to an A+ grade weapon.
The mud figures Cang Cheng had formed exploded, as did Ming Bai's small robots, and even the Light Dog Clan members and star beasts were consumed by the explosions.
Cang Cheng: "You won't even spare your own people?"
Cang Mu said matter-of-factly, "These are the necessary sacrifices on the road to victory."
"Dessert time's over; the main event begins."
The light fragments gathered together and attacked Cang Cheng.
Cang Mu thought, there's no way so many shards of light can't take down a physically frail Spirit Rune Master.
He would kill Cang Cheng, take his power, and then slaughter the entire Sunset Star.
Cang Cheng's fingers deftly commanded, and a pair of transparent wings formed behind him.
As the wings flapped, Cang Cheng flew into the air, dodging the shards of light.
Wherever Cang Cheng went, the light fragments followed. If Cang Cheng went up, the light fragments went up. If Cang Cheng turned, the light fragments turned as well.
The elemental dragons followed closely behind Cang Cheng, their mouths opening to either freeze or devour the light shards.
The explosions formed by the light bursts destroyed the bodies of the dragons.
But they quickly reshaped themselves using the elements. As long as Cang Cheng's magic supply didn't stop, the elemental dragons were immortal.
The sky seemed to split open, with a massive explosion stretching for miles.
The anomaly caught the attention of the Sunset Star natives, who turned their eyes to the sky.
They saw Cang Cheng speeding through the air, leaving a glowing trail in his wake. Bright light, translucent ice, and searing flames intertwined, creating a stunning display of lethal power.
The Sunset Star natives were incredibly shocked. They thought the mud figure legion was Cang Cheng's ultimate move, but there was something even bigger coming.
They were speechless, unable to utter a word.
Is the leader of the Light Dog Clan the eldest prince?
How come our guard captain looks a bit like the late fourth prince?
What is the leader of the Light Dog Clan summoning?!
Can Sunset Star really hold on?
Oh my! How did Governor Cang Cheng summon dragons?!
Those are dragons—mysterious, revered, and powerful creatures!!!
The people inside the city defenses felt their fear and panic melt away as they watched the elemental dragons.
This was their Sunset Star's ruling governor, mysterious and powerful.
When danger struck, the ruling governor always stood at the forefront, shielding everyone from harm.
Cang Cheng had already created too many miracles, and he was currently writing another one before the eyes of the Sunset Star people.
