    Chapter 26: Drenched

    The kiss was downright predatory.

Guan Yingtang was caught off guard, a choked whimper escaping her throat. Meng Qinghuai plundered her mouth with silent intensity, leaving little room for resistance as he devoured every reachable surface.

Yet even that wasn’t enough. Meng Qinghuai cupped her jaw, tilting her face upward to deepen the kiss, his movements bruisingly demanding.

At first, Guan Yingtang panicked, but as the slick heat of his tongue tangled with hers, as his fire-hot breath melded with her own, her body quivered with liquid heat. Her hands pressed against his chest, her entire frame shivering visibly.

She had imagined what kissing him might feel like—but nothing could have prepared her for this.

She couldn’t describe the sensation. His lips moved against hers without restraint, in a way that was both tender and fierce. Her pulse raced, her mind drowning in a haze of pleasure, the only sound in her ears the filthy wet sounds of their mouths.

Their breathing turned savage, the air charged with electricity.

Guan Yingtang felt herself dissolving, her legs turning to jelly—until Meng Qinghuai gripped her hips and lifted her onto the desk. She arched backward under the force of his kiss, her hands instinctively bracing against the freshly written xuan paper beneath her. With each relentless press of his lips, the tingling heat spread from her mouth to her entire body. The delicate paper crumpled in her grasp, reduced to ruined creases.

It felt like an eternity before Meng Qinghuai finally relinquished her mouth.

Both of them were breathing heavily. Guan Yingtang’s cheeks burned, her lips kiss-swollen and slick. When she lifted her gaze, the fevered hunger in Meng Qinghuai’s eyes sent her heart pounding wildly.

She couldn’t bear to hold his stare—as if even a glance would send that molten ache seeping into her bones, consuming her entirely.

Meng Qinghuai swiped his thumb possessively over the dampness on her lips.

A jolt of electricity surged from his fingertip, coursing along her lips and straight to her brain.

Her lashes fluttered as he growled, voice gravel-rough, “There’s something we’ve been avoiding.”

His voice was like smoke-rough against her ear, sending shivers down her spine.

She knew exactly what he meant.

As a legally married couple, they had shared nearly every intimacy—except one.

His gaze burned into her, a wordless demand.

Her pulse thundered. She knew she wouldn’t refuse. Somewhere deep inside, her body had already answered.

Before she could steady her breathing, Guan Yingtang met his eyes—then surged up to claim his mouth.

    That was her reply.

The moment their lips met again, the inferno roared back to life. Meng Qinghuai sat back in the chair behind the desk, pulling her onto his lap. They devoured each other, his hands deft as he reached into a drawer and retrieved a condom box. Then, with one arm supporting her, he lifted her and carried her out.

The short distance to the bedroom was marked by desperate, clinging kisses, never fully breaking contact.

Guan Yingtang clung to him as he laid her on the bed, barely giving her a moment to breathe before his lips sealed over hers again.

She was dizzy with want, yet she loved every second of it. She had always despised predictability—even in kisses, she craved intensity, suffocation.

    And Meng Qinghuai delivered perfectly.

The bedroom filled with sweltering heat, waves of pleasure rising and falling.

His kisses trailed from her lips downward, his touch deliberate as he branded every inch of her skin. When his hands slid to her back, the alarming expertise with which he undid her made her wonder if he was far more experienced than he let on.

Otherwise, how could his fingers glide so effortlessly along her spine, unhurried, maddeningly controlled?

Guan Yingtang shuddered under his touch, her body growing slick with arousal.

She had imagined this before. From the day they registered their marriage, she had realistically steeled herself for this moment. She had envisioned herself being polite, feigning shyness, wondering if a proper lady should even let out a few soft, scripted moans.

But she never expected to be this unraveled.

When Meng Qinghuai tossed aside the proof of her arousal, she couldn’t bring herself to look. She thought that was the limit—until those usually restrained hands ventured lower. Biting her lip, Guan Yingtang realized with startling clarity:

Some things didn’t need acting. The body spoke for itself.

“So much,” Meng Qinghuai murmured against her ear, his voice rough. “Who’s responsible for this?”

Her mind was already hazy. Dazed and teary-eyed, she didn’t understand why he’d ask something so blatant.

There was no one else here.

Her cheeks burning as she panted, “…I don’t know what you mean.”

She thought feigning ignorance might spare her, but Meng Qinghuai wasn’t letting her off so easily. In the dim light, every place his fingers traced burned. His hand, glistening with her, interlaced with hers—

Fire licked where their palms met.

“Who?” he repeated, voice low and insistent.

Her vision blurred as she turned her face away, muttering, “You already know.”

But Meng Qinghuai gripped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. His eyes were sharp, unwavering. “Say it.”

The powerful frame caging her made her tremble. Just locking eyes with him sent tremors through her body—

    A desperate, all-consuming hunger.

Those few seconds under his gaze only made the molten ache between her legs worse.

Frustrated, she tried to twist free. “Meng Qinghuai, do you think you’re that impressive?”

“I haven’t even started,” he replied calmly. “Save your judgment for later.”

    “…”

How could he sound so composed?

Annoyed, Guan Yingtang suddenly noticed the small mole beneath his collarbone. On impulse, she arched up and bit it.

But with her wrists pinned, she collapsed back almost immediately. Meng Qinghuai took advantage, lowering his mouth to the most sensitive part of her.

…! Her vision nearly whited out.

The slow, wet drag of his lips unraveled Guan Yingtang completely. Her back arched, her body pressing toward him, craving more.

Shadows and light intertwined in the dim room.

“Guan Yingtang.” His voice at her ear was like liquid fire.

    She froze.

As far as she could remember, Meng Qinghuai had always addressed her as “Miss Guan”—even after their relationship changed, he had never called her anything else.

So distant—not the slightest bit intimate.

When they were already doing the most intimate thing in the world.

Guan Yingtang looked at him with eyes red-rimmed, "Don't call me that."

Meng Qinghuai gave a quiet 'mm', lowering his gaze. "Then what do you want me to call you?"

Guan Yingtang swallowed, feeling his voice, roughened by desire, devastatingly sexy. "My family calls me Yingtang, or A Tang."

Meng Qinghuai said nothing, instead tracing feather-light kisses along her body.

After a long while, he finally said, "I don’t want to be like them."

    Guan Yingtang shivered uncontrollably.

"Tang Tang." Meng Qinghuai brushed his lips against the corner of her mouth, as if considering for a moment before tenderly and firmly calling her again, "My Tang Tang."

The way he said it felt like whispering some dirty whisper into her ear, sending an unexpected shiver through her.

"Tang Tang." Meng Qinghuai gazed into her eyes. "I want to enter now. Okay?"

He asked so politely, as if he needed to perform some formal request before doing such a thing.

Yet his actions were anything but gentlemanly—everything about him could only be described as raw and primal.

Guan Yingtang: "If I said no, would you stop?"

"No." Meng Qinghuai bore down, claiming her with raw dominance.

    ...

She could feel him distinctly, her heart hammering, her scalp tingling.

He had already gripped her ankles, spreading them apart.

Guan Yingtang felt her entire body ablaze, the heat radiating from Meng Qinghuai. The body she had often fantasized about touching was now right before her, pressed tightly against her, yet she couldn't bear to look.

"Then don’t ask." Consumed by aching need, Guan Yingtang arched up, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him closer. "Do whatever you want."

    ...

When they fully joined, both gasped in unison.

From body to soul, they wordlessly became partners in this, each profoundly filling the other.

Guan Yingtang later deeply regretted saying those words.

    —*Do whatever you want.*

And Meng Qinghuai held her to it, truly doing as he pleased.

At first, he was gentle—until he heard moans escaping Guan Yingtang’s lips, and then everything turned wild.

His burning hands slid over her abdomen, the bedroom filled with the sounds of their frantic rhythm, like tidal waves crashing against the shore, unyielding and intense.

Guan Yingtang was like a trembling blossom, every inch of her body hypersensitive. No matter where Meng Qinghuai kissed her, she arched and quivered, tears glistening.

Before tonight, she had always thought Meng Qinghuai was cool and collected, seemingly above such base desires.

But after tonight, she knew he wasn’t.

The passion beneath the surface only burned fiercer, more insatiable.

    Again. And again. Without end.

More than once, Guan Yingtang wondered how something could feel this exquisite—every time they joined completely, the pleasure resonated through every fiber of her being, intoxicating and overwhelming.

She trembled, too far gone to speak.

"...Meng Qinghuai." In her daze, she dug her teeth into his shoulder and called his name.

He slowed his movements. "You didn’t call me that during the day."

The haze of pleasure cleared momentarily. Blinking through tear-filled eyes, Guan Yingtang looked at him, murmured weakly, "I... was just teasing you."

    "I never tease."

    "..."

During the day, she had only wanted to see his helpless expression when provoked—who knew she’d end up getting burned?

In this moment, she couldn’t bring herself to say it so easily.

Her lips pressed tight, she opened her mouth several times but still couldn’t utter it. Meng Qinghuai saw her hesitation, remembered those forty minutes he’d spent alone in the study, remembered her laughter with Jiang Peiming next door, and suddenly lost patience, plunging deep unannounced.

Guan Yingtang, the cry torn from her—

    "...*Husband*!"

    She was nearly sobbing.

    "Who’s your husband?"

    "You are! Meng Qinghuai!"

He leaned down, claiming her lips in a searing kiss. "That's right. Don't forget it."
