Chapter 25: The Mermaid is Furious
byChapter 25: The Little Merman's Great Fury
Wen Yanzhou found no answers on the forum. For days, he had been practicing activating the mech alone in the cockpit, failing every single time.
His gland felt off, probably from over-expending pheromones in his relentless attempts to activate the mech. When Wen Yanzhou woke up this morning, his gland was slightly feverish, as if something had suddenly departed, leaving him feeling hollow.
"Come on, today I *must* activate the mech!" Wen Yanzhou secretly encouraged himself.
These past few days, the Alphas continued to mock him relentlessly for his inability to activate the mech and his stubborn refusal to leave. The instructor, after witnessing Wen Yanzhou's repeated failures, had completely ignored him, turning a blind eye as the Alphas engaged in extreme harassment.
Arriving at the camp, sure enough, the textbook he had left on the desk yesterday was gone. Wen Yanzhou, with a sigh of resignation, walked over to the trash can. Since the trash was emptied daily, there was no foul odor. Wen Yanzhou bent down and saw his textbook right in the middle of the can.
"Sigh." Wen Yanzhou let out a soft breath and plunged his head into the trash can to retrieve it.
Fortunately, there was nothing else inside.
"Well, well, if it isn't Wen Yanzhou, who can't even activate a mech," the Alphas jeered, erupting in laughter. "Can't activate a mech but still hangs around. How utterly shameless."
Just as Wen Yanzhou was about to stand up, a powerful force shoved him down, pinning him firmly over the trash can, rendering him immobile.
"You! Let go of me!"
No one paid attention to Wen Yanzhou’s struggles. The lead Alpha crossed his arms, leaned close to Wen Yanzhou’s side, and took in his humiliated state.
"Truly shameless, even rummaging through the classroom trash can." The Alpha’s voice was cold and mocking. He signaled to the others, and the pressure on Wen Yanzhou’s back intensified, forcing his face almost against the side of the trash can.
Being so close, the mixed stench inevitably assaulted his nostrils, even irritating his eyes. His mucous membranes stung as if pricked by needles, bringing forth two involuntary tears.
"Let go of me!"
From childhood, Wen Yanzhou had never suffered such humiliation. The Alpha pinning him down was overpoweringly strong. Despite Wen Yanzhou’s fierce resistance, it only resulted in more bruises, his body remaining utterly still.
"Look, look at him," the lead Alpha pointed at Wen Yanzhou’s face from the side—his lips red, teeth white, eyes red from irritation, strangely captivating. "Truly an Omega, still able to seduce even at a time like this."
"Too bad Qu Zhuo, the one who’d be swayed by it, isn’t here today~" The Alpha’s voice turned sinister. "Guess if anyone will stand up for you today?"
The Alpha rubbed his arm. Ever since Qu Zhuo kicked him last time, his arm had been injured, and even now it hadn’t fully healed. But Qu Zhuo was a rare A-grade Alpha, and everyone had their eyes on him. He didn’t dare retaliate against Qu Zhuo, so he directed all his hatred toward Wen Yanzhou.
"I said, let go of me!" Wen Yanzhou gritted his teeth, his eyes narrowed. The tip of his nose already touched the trash can’s wall, the pungent smell flooding his nostrils. But Wen Yanzhou didn’t find it foul—only rage surged through him.
"Hahahaha, why should I?" The Alpha dismissed it. "Do you know how long I’ve waited for Qu Zhuo to be absent? How could I possibly…"
Ha—Boom—
Crack—
The Alpha’s words cut off abruptly. He stood dumbfounded, touched his nose, and two streams of blood gushed out. And that sound just now—his nose was broken.
An overwhelming scent of seawater filled the air, making everyone feel as if they were deep under the ocean.
The Alpha hardly processed what happened. One moment, the person pinned over the trash can suddenly burst into action, broke free in an instant, delivered a flying kick to the person behind him, and stood before him. Then, before anyone could see clearly, the Omega’s fist had already connected with his nose.
"I said, let go of me." Wen Yanzhou rubbed his knuckles. The air around him was thick with pheromones, and everyone else felt as if they had suddenly plunged into the depths of the ocean, unable to breathe.
And at the center of it all, Wen Yanzhou stood like a god of war.
The Alpha shrank back belatedly, an emotion called fear seeming to seize him for a moment, but he quickly shook it off.
"You dare release your pheromones!" The Alpha wiped the blood from his nose, finally catching his breath. "Releasing Omega pheromones in public!"
What was even more terrifying was that they were being suppressed by an Omega’s pheromones.
Alphas and Omegas usually had to wear suppressant patches or neck rings strictly to prevent pheromones from leaking in public. The reason was simple—pheromones had too great an impact on both sides.
An Alpha’s pheromones during their sensitive period could quickly induce an Omega’s heat, even if the Omega wasn’t in heat at the time. Conversely, an Omega releasing pheromones could trigger uncontrollable urges from Alphas.
Releasing Omega pheromones in public was undoubtedly like telling all the Alphas present—you can come and *take* me.
But no one moved. No one thought Wen Yanzhou meant that, and moreover, they seemed unable to move.
—Pheromone suppression.
"How is this possible! How can he suppress us?" An Alpha in the corner finally realized what was happening—he was experiencing pheromone suppression.
Generally, pheromone suppression existed between Alphas. A higher-grade Alpha could release pheromones to suppress a lower-grade Alpha, making it nearly impossible for the suppressed Alpha to resist. If the grade difference was large enough, the suppressed Alpha might not even be able to stand.
But how could they be suppressed by an Omega’s pheromones? Especially a D-grade Omega.
"How is this possible? I… I can’t move." Another Alpha tried to stand but failed.
"He’s just an Omega. How can he suppress us? It must be something else." The Alpha with the bleeding nose struggled to his feet.
In theory, it wasn’t entirely impossible for an Omega to suppress others, but Omegas were naturally non-confrontational. Suppressing another Omega held no meaning for them, and as for Alphas—the moment an Omega’s pheromones leaked, the Alphas would likely pounce first.
So no one believed an Omega could suppress Alphas.
"He must have used some underhanded trick." The Alpha gestured for his lackeys to stand. "Listen to me, let’s all release our pheromones together."
"Boss, this… this isn’t right." One of them felt it was inappropriate. After all, once Alphas released pheromones toward an Omega, the Omega would immediately go into heat. And with so many Alphas releasing at once, the consequences were unimaginable.
"What do you know? I said release, so release." The Alpha sneered. "I’ll make him understand the consequences of crossing me."
Instantly, dozens of pheromones, clashing with the seawater scent, burst forth simultaneously, crowding into the foul corners of the room enveloped by the ocean’s aroma.
Nauseating scents of gasoline, gunpowder, and other indescribably pungent odors rushed into the seawater’s embrace. Though not strong, they polluted the pure seawater.
So foul, so… disgusting.
The repulsive gasoline scent tainted the periphery of the seawater, not aiming to suppress but merely to make the entire body of water stink.
Wen Yanzhou frowned. Their pheromones weren’t strong enough to threaten him, but the smell was truly disgusting. The pungent pheromones mixed with smoke wafted restlessly, making Wen Yanzhou feel as if ants were crawling all over his body, desperately wanting to rid himself of these vile, clinging odors.
Wen Yanzhou suddenly thought of the General. The General’s scent wasn’t like this—his wormwood aroma, now that he thought about it, was rich and bitter, sinking into the seawater without being irritating.
"Hey, he’s scared. Brothers, intensify it!"
The Alpha seemed to think the seawater was retreating and grew excited, ordering the Alphas to release more of their pheromones.
Instantly, thicker gasoline scent invaded the seawater, expanding its territory continuously. Wen Yanzhou could hardly conceal the revulsion in his body. His muscles convulsed violently, his hands and feet nearly numb, his stomach churning violently, wanting to expel it all.
But he couldn’t. The greatest characteristic of seawater was its capacity to absorb.
"Gag." Wen Yanzhou began to dry heave. The blue veins under his fair skin throbbed wildly. His stomach spasmed, compressing the air inside fiercely. The gasoline scent grew stronger, mixed with unknown foul smells.
Indescribable disgust.
Just as Wen Yanzhou thought he would merge entirely with these foul odors, the next moment, an overpowering scent swept through, instantly filling the entire room. The Alphas collapsed to the ground, and all the stench vanished without a trace.
—It was the scent of wormwood.
Wen Yanzhou turned to look and saw Lu Feng dressed in a white military uniform, his shoulders broad and imposing. The silver insignia on his sleeve gleamed against a cold, severe countenance with sharp, striking features. His low voice held a subtle, icy edge as he spoke.
"Is this part of the training?"
"General? General, what is your purpose here?" The lead Alpha, clearly sharper than the others, recognized Lu Feng.
"General? The General himself?"
"Why would the General come here!"
"My god, now that's our General—such presence, such charisma!"
The Alpha tried to step forward to greet Lu Feng but collapsed back to the ground the moment he exerted force.
—Pheromone suppression.
A more thorough kind—Alpha suppressing Alpha.
"G-General..." The lead Alpha mustered all his strength, frantically kicking his legs as he dragged himself toward Lu Feng. "We... we were just joking."
Lu Feng finally seemed to notice the man sprawled before him like a beaten dog. He bent down slightly and looked at him. "Zhang Bao, B-level Alpha, son of Colonel Zhang Zhiqing."
"Yes, yes! General!"
"You know me—you know my name!"
Delight flooded the Alpha's mind; he didn’t even notice the coldness in Lu Feng's eyes.
The Alpha smugly shot a glance at Wen Yanzhou—See? The General knows me. The General is on my side. This is the General!
"Good. You, and your father, can leave now."
The next moment, an icy decree came from above, like a verdict.
"Your dismissal notices will reach you by this afternoon."
Before the Alpha could process it, still sitting on the ground dumbfounded, stunned by the General's words...
Lu Feng walked to the corner, coming to a halt before Wen Yanzhou.
Wen Yanzhou saw the General reach out a hand to him—a hand with prominent knuckles, every inch of skin flawless.
"Did they bully you?"
