Chapter 38
byChapter 38
Pei Siyue was not resting; he was still in his room handling official business, on a video conference with an overseas company. Hearing Ruan Shuyang’s frantic voice outside the door, he first turned off his camera and microphone, then walked to the door, opened it, and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I—”
Ruan Shuyang was about to speak when he noticed Pei Siyue’s formal attire and the open laptop on the desk. He could vaguely see the video conference interface on the screen, and the voices of others speaking came through the microphone.
He had second thoughts, thinking he could just go to the hospital himself, but then he heard Pei Siyue ask again, “What’s wrong?”
Ruan Shuyang lowered his head, biting his lip. Whether out of fear of disturbing Pei Siyue’s video conference or instinctive shyness, his voice was very soft: “I—I feel something’s not right back there. It’s a little itchy inside.”
Pei Siyue looked at him thoughtfully, then pulled him inside. “Lie down on the bed. I’ll check for you.”
Ruan Shuyang didn’t want to interrupt his work and kept his voice low: “You’re still busy. I shouldn’t bother you. I can go to the hospital myself.”
Pei Siyue noticed Ruan Shuyang speaking softly and understood, but offered no explanation. He simply said, “Close the door.”
Ruan Shuyang obeyed Pei Siyue, closed the door, walked in, and sat on the bed as quietly as possible.
Pei Siyue took out disposable medical gloves and alcohol. As he put on the gloves, he told Ruan Shuyang, “Lie on your stomach.”
Ruan Shuyang looked at him in surprise, silently pointing at the laptop that was still emitting voices. The people in the video conference were speaking English very quickly. Ruan Shuyang could roughly gather they were discussing the development of a new drug—clearly work-related. He was afraid of disturbing them and even more afraid others might hear Pei Siyue speaking.
Pei Siyue offered no further explanation. After putting on the gloves and disinfecting, he stood by the bed, looking down at Ruan Shuyang. His gaze and presence were not aggressive, yet they made Ruan Shuyang feel pressured—not the pressure of a superior, but the inherent pressure of an Enigma over an Omega.
Ruan Shuyang had no choice but to lie face down on the bed as gently as possible. Then Pei Siyue used his ungloved hand to tap behind Ruan Shuyang’s knees. “Pull your pants down to here.”
As he pulled down his pants, Ruan Shuyang looked around the bedroom, which had no medical equipment, and couldn’t help but ask softly, “Brother, how will you examine me?”
His tone was meek and gentle, as if he had no idea what kind of examination was about to happen.
Pei Siyue stood beside Ruan Shuyang. Seeing the two pale, rounded curves of his buttocks revealed as the pants were pulled down to the knees, his voice lowered slightly.
“The anus and rectum are usually examined with a digital exam.”
Ruan Shuyang’s eyes widened. A digital exam?
Did that mean what he thought—inserting a finger?
No, that’s too embarrassing. He didn’t want Pei Siyue to examine him. He’d rather go to the hospital.
He wanted to pull up his pants and get up.
“Brother, I’ll just go to the hospital.”
Let a doctor do it.
But Pei Siyue pressed a hand against his back with some force, his voice deep and cold as he asked, “Who do you want to examine you?”
Ruan Shuyang was momentarily speechless. If he went to the hospital, it would probably be the same kind of examination. The doctor would do the same thing to him.
Well, then…
Between a stranger and Pei Siyue, he really should choose Pei Siyue.
He went quiet, burying his head in Pei Siyue’s pillow. Breathing in the other’s scent, he was too embarrassed to speak.
Seeing he wasn’t speaking, Pei Siyue didn’t push it. He just gently patted his butt and said, “Open your legs wider.”
Ruan Shuyang’s face turned bright red, all the way to the tips of his ears. He slowly spread his legs a little wider, too shy to lift his head.
Pei Siyue pressed a hand against his hip and said in a low voice, “Just bear with it.”
As soon as he finished speaking, his finger slowly entered him. Ruan Shuyang’s eyes widened, and he let out a soft, uncomfortable “Mmm.”
So embarrassing. He had never even touched that place himself, and now Pei Siyue was…
Just as he was thinking this, he suddenly heard Pei Siyue ask, “Where does it itch?”
Ruan Shuyang quickly composed himself and said, “A little further inside.”
“Okay.”
Pei Siyue’s finger went in a bit deeper.
By the time Ruan Shuyang realized what he had said, his face was burning.
“Is it here?”
“Y-yes.” Ruan Shuyang forced himself to endure the shame and the unfamiliar sensation. “Just below your finger…”
His voice grew softer as he buried his head in the pillow.
Pei Siyue gently rotated his finger, touching somewhere that made Ruan Shuyang feel like an electric current ran through his body, sapping all his strength. He couldn’t help but let out a strange sound.
It was incredibly sweet and sensual—so much that he blushed and his heart raced just hearing it himself.
Pei Siyue pressed that spot again and asked, “Is it here?”
After being pressed, Ruan Shuyang had no strength left. Lying face down in the pillow, he said in a faint voice, “Yes.”
Then, he felt Pei Siyue’s finger apply a bit more pressure, slowly rubbing over that spot.
Ruan Shuyang let out another “Mmm,” feeling all the blood in his body rush downward.
He realized with despair it was even itchier now.
However, Pei Siyue withdrew his finger, tossed the glove away, and said, “The digital examination didn’t reveal any problems.”
Ruan Shuyang remained buried in the pillow, feeling like the biggest problem right now was his lower body. He didn’t dare lie flat or face anyone.
“It’s probably your secondary sex characteristics developing. The skin cells are stretching, and the capillaries are engorged with blood, causing the itch.”
As a humanities student who hadn’t taken biology, he didn’t quite follow Pei Siyue’s explanation. But after thinking about it roughly, he asked, “Is it like the growing pains from the reproductive cavity before?”
“Yes.” Pei Siyue explained, “It’s a normal physiological phenomenon. There’s no way to avoid it.”
Ruan Shuyang couldn’t keep lying there anymore. Holding the blanket to cover himself, he managed to turn to look at Pei Siyue and asked helplessly, “Then, is there any way to relieve it?”
Perhaps because Pei Siyue had touched him, he felt even itchier and more uncomfortable. He fidgeted uncomfortably on the bed, wanting to rub against the bedding to ease the discomfort.
But by the time he remembered this was Pei Siyue’s bed, he had already unconsciously rubbed against it a couple of times.
He went rigid, not daring to look at Pei Siyue’s expression.
Pei Siyue, however, seemed to pick up on something. Looking down at him, he asked, “Are you uncomfortable?”
Ruan Shuyang wanted to say it was fine, that he could bear it, but for some reason, he found himself unable to lie in front of Pei Siyue. Holding onto the blanket, he nodded pitifully and said, “Uncomfortable.”
After a moment, he added in a small voice, “It’s so itchy.”
Pei Siyue put his gloves back on and sanitized his hands, saying calmly, “Let me rub it for you.”
Ruan Shuyang’s eyes widened abruptly.
Rub?
Did he mean what he thought?
This time, Pei Siyue didn’t ask him to lie face down, only to turn over and lie on his side. With gloved fingers, he reached in and applied some pressure as he rubbed.
Ruan Shuyang had never experienced anything like this before. He didn’t know there was such a strange spot inside his body that, when touched, made him go limp all over. Lying on the bed, his body turned to jelly, and he asked Pei Siyue in an extra soft, gentle voice, “Is that spot the reproductive cavity?”
“No.”
Ruan Shuyang covered his mouth, not daring to ask what it was anymore.
Gradually, the massage felt so good that he began to pant softly and unconsciously rubbed against the sheets.
Pei Siyue reached out and patted the sheet, asking in a low voice, “Is this sensitive too?”
Ruan Shuyang couldn’t speak. His eyes were flushed with heat, glistening with unshed tears.
His body felt strange—it wasn’t like the heat of his cycle, where he desperately craved pheromones. Instead, he longed more for Pei Siyue’s touch.
Pei Siyue made a “shh” gesture with his other hand, then pulled the covers back.
Stimulated from both sides, Ruan Shuyang’s mind went blank. Instinctively, he clutched the sheets and bit down, afraid to make any sound, burying his soft whimpers in the bedding.
He trembled uncontrollably, going completely limp. When he came to his senses, all he saw was Pei Siyue’s handsome face looming close before his eyes, the impact overwhelming, leaving him dizzy.
Seeing that Ruan Shuyang had regained awareness, Pei Siyue gently covered his lips in a tender kiss, soothing yet demanding.
Just then, someone called from the computer, “Dr. Pei? Dr. Pei?”
Pei Siyue straightened up and turned the microphone back on. His voice was a bit huskier than usual, though it wasn’t very clear over the internet.
Ruan Shuyang only heard Pei Siyue speaking fluently in English, interspersed with a bunch of professional jargon he couldn’t understand, but he could roughly tell it was about drug development.
…Wait.
He remembered Pei Siyue had told him to be quiet earlier.
And he clearly saw that Pei Siyue only turned the microphone on just before he started speaking.
So telling him to be quiet was…
Ruan Shuyang’s chest swelled with anger.
So bad, so wicked.
Picking on him again.
Furious, he sat up from the bed. Only when his skin touched the chilled, damp sheet did he realize he hadn’t put his pants back on, and the sheet was wet because of him.
By the time Pei Siyue finished speaking and turned off the microphone again, he saw the little Omega, who'd just found his pleasure, gathering the stained bedsheet and comforter, ready to leave. He was already at the door, determined, as if ready to toss him aside after use.
Pei Siyue didn’t stop him, only reminded him, “Don’t forget we’re going to the amusement park tomorrow morning.”
Ruan Shuyang opened the door and left, but before going, he couldn’t help turning back to glare at Pei Siyue. The look was full of reproach, but to Pei Siyue, it seemed glistening with emotion, soft and loving.
Like a delicate Lily of the Valley, beautiful and alluring.
The little Omega was blossoming nicely.
**
On Saturday morning, Ruan Shuyang took his time coming downstairs and, as expected, saw Pei Siyue in the living room. He didn’t dare look directly at him, still feeling a mix of shame and irritation about what happened the night before.
How could Pei Siyue be so mean? He’d already turned off the microphone but didn’t tell him, still telling him to be quiet.
It made him too scared to even take a deep breath, biting down on the sheets to keep himself from making a sound.
Pei Siyue watched, amused, as Ruan Shuyang ignored him. He thought Ruan Shuyang was being spoiled because he felt pampered, and he allowed it, since he himself had been misbehaved the night before and made him angry.
Seeing that Ruan Shuyang had come down, he picked up the car keys from the table and said, “Let’s go. I’ll take you out for breakfast, then we’ll play.”
Ruan Shuyang replied moodily, “Okay.”
Distractedly, he followed Pei Siyue to the garage and stood by the car. Because he wasn’t paying attention, the Pagani Zonda’s dihedral door opened and grazed his stomach.
Pei Siyue helplessly pulled him into his arms, gently pinching Ruan Shuyang’s cheek. His voice was a mix of fond and exasperated. “Such a child, always so distracted.”
As Pei Siyue pinched his cheek, Ruan Shuyang’s pale skin flushed visibly. His gaze drifted away, not daring to look at Pei Siyue.
The dihedral door opened, and Pei Siyue helped Ruan Shuyang into the car. They had breakfast together, then drove to the amusement park.
When Jiang Wu found out Pei Siyue was taking Ruan Shuyang to the amusement park, he immediately got excited and asked if he wanted to rent out the entire park or stage a dramatic flower confession like in the dramas. Pei Siyue was speechless.
He really didn’t like crowded places, but he also disliked extravagance and hadn’t considered booking the entire park.
Besides, he thought Ruan Shuyang would prefer a livelier amusement park with a more festive vibe.
The only one disappointed in the whole story was Jiang Wu, who couldn’t experience the drama of a CEO booking an entire venue for a confession.
When they arrived at the amusement park, Ruan Shuyang saw the place he’d longed to visit for so long. All the awkwardness from that morning completely disappeared. He pulled Pei Siyue toward the roller coaster, saying he wanted to ride it.
Pei Siyue asked, “This ride is very intense. Are you sure you want to try it?”
Ruan Shuyang nodded.
It looked so fun—the way people spun around on it seemed thrilling and exciting.
Pei Siyue didn’t try to dissuade him further and took Ruan Shuyang through the VIP line.
He hadn’t booked the whole park, but he did buy VIP fast passes. He didn’t want to waste the whole day waiting in lines.
They quickly reached the front of the line via the VIP line, and Ruan Shuyang happily took his seat on the roller coaster.
As a child, he’d always envied others who got to ride roller coasters. Now it was finally his turn.
But once the roller coaster started, his excitement vanished.
The intense zero-g sensation overwhelmed him. He closed his eyes, too afraid to look down, and couldn’t help screaming, clutching Pei Siyue’s hand in terror.
A minute later, the roller coaster came to a stop. The moment Ruan Shuyang’s feet touched the ground, his knees nearly buckled. Pei Siyue supported him, both amused and helpless, and ended up simply scooping the little Omega up.
Held like a child in Pei Siyue’s arms, Ruan Shuyang hid his face in Pei Siyue’s chest in embarrassment, too timid to suggest going on any more rides.
Whimpering, it was too intense. He couldn’t handle it.
After a while, when Pei Siyue gently set him down on a bench, he noticed a carousel across from them and a Ferris wheel not far away.
Pei Siyue asked calmly, “Do you want to ride these two?”
Ruan Shuyang covered his face, the tips of his ears turned red.
Though he felt quite embarrassed, it seemed these two rides were more his speed.
He replied in a small voice, “Yes, I want to.”
Pei Siyue took him on the carousel and the Ferris wheel, feeling more and more like a parent taking a child to the amusement park.
As it approached lunchtime and they had tried most of the gentle rides, Pei Siyue took Ruan Shuyang out to eat. Afterward, they drove near T University.
Ruan Shuyang had been to T University several times and naturally recognized the scenery. He asked curiously, “Brother, what are we doing here?”
Pei Siyue parked the car in the residential complex and said very naturally, “Taking you to see your new home.”
New home?
Ruan Shuyang followed Pei Siyue into the elevator, totally confused.
He remembered this was a famous high-end apartment complex near T University. On the forums, many upperclassmen had expressed a desire to live here.
The elevator stopped on the 30th floor—the top floor, which was a two-story duplex. Ruan Shuyang followed Pei Siyue inside and was amazed by how spacious it was. Combined, the two floors were probably over 400 square meters.
Then he noticed the interior design. The style seemed very similar to Pei Siyue’s own home—Morandi color palette, simple furnishings and decorations, subtle luxury.
Realizing something, he asked Pei Siyue in surprise, “Brother, did you buy this place?”
“Mhm,” Pei Siyue nodded, looking at Ruan Shuyang. “Do you like it?”
Ruan Shuyang admitted, “I like it very much.”
No one could dislike a big house.
Pei Siyue then said, “You’ll live here then after the semester starts.”
“Live here?” Ruan Shuyang was totally unprepared. “But after the semester starts, I should be living in the school dormitory.”
Pei Siyue said calmly, “T University doesn’t require students to live on campus. You can definitely move out.”
Ruan Shuyang hesitated. Actually, he was excited about college life and wanted the dorm experience—he had wanted to stay in the dorms to integrate into the group environment.
But Pei Siyue gave him a reason he couldn’t refuse.
“You’re undergoing pheromone therapy and might have flare-ups at night. It would be hard to deal with in a shared environment,” Pei Siyue told him. “This place is very close to T University—only a five-minute walk. It won’t affect your classes or interactions with classmates.”
Ruan Shuyang remembered the incident from the previous night and was persuaded.
He couldn’t imagine what he would do if something like that happened in the dormitory.
It’d bother his roommates, and he wouldn’t know how to face them.
Compared to roommates, he found it easier to accept Pei Siyue knowing about those embarrassing things.
Maybe it was because Pei Siyue had already seen everything and even… helped him.
He lowered his head and said obediently, “Okay, alright. I’ll live here.”
Pei Siyue took him upstairs to see the master bedroom and asked, “Is there anything else you want?”
Ruan Shuyang looked at the master bedroom in surprise, his tone puzzled. “This is my room?”
Pei Siyue nodded.
“But this is the master bedroom. If it’s your house, I should take the guest room.”
Since this was Pei Siyue’s house, even if he stayed, he should be in the guest room.
Pei Siyue stroked Ruan Shuyang’s hair and said casually, “This is your house.”
Just as expected, Ruan Shuyang’s eyes widened. “My house?”
How could he have a place this big? When did this happen?
If the Ruan family found out he had such a large property, wouldn't they try to take it? Would they leave it for him?
Then he understood.
He asked Pei Siyue in a knowing tone, “Did you buy it?”
Pei Siyue nodded. “It’s in your name.”
Ruan Shuyang was speechless for what felt like ages.
Lately, it seemed Pei Siyue had gotten him a lot of things—a Maybach and now a house.
He couldn’t guess the exact price of the house, but he felt it must be in the eight figures. In such a great location and upscale complex, he had once thought he might never afford it in his lifetime.
But now, one had suddenly fallen into his lap, handed to him.
It was Pei Siyue who had dropped it.
Tears welled up in his eyes without warning. He hugged Pei Siyue, crying quietly. Pei Siyue held him, gently rubbing his back.
Ruan Shuyang sobbed and asked again, “Brother, why are you so good to me?”
Pei Siyue gave the same answer as before: “You figure it out.”
It took a while before Ruan Shuyang wiped his tears away. Still sniffling, he whispered, “I thought before that you saw me as a little brother, that you wanted to take care of me like one… but that didn’t seem right either.”
After all, Pei Siyue wasn't exactly brotherly with Pei Siming.
Pei Siyue used his thumb to gently wipe Ruan Shuyang’s soft cheek, gazing into his almond eyes, still damp with tears. His fingers moved to the nape of Ruan Shuyang’s neck and removed his gland patch.
Before Ruan Shuyang could react, Pei Siyue pulled him close, and lowered his head to bite into Ruan Shuyang’s gland.
It was a brief mark, but a storm of pheromones flooded through him. Ruan Shuyang instinctively clutched Pei Siyue’s clothes, his fingertips trembling.
The fresh, elegant scent of Lily of the Valley began to fill the air.
The sudden rush of pheromones overwhelmed him. Ruan Shuyang felt as if the petals of the Lily of the Valley were drenched with dew.
He felt so comfortable, as if all his pores were open, lost in the sensation and unable to come back to himself for a long time.
Until he was held by Pei Siyue and sat down, nestling in his embrace.
Pei Siyue reached out and touched his delicate throat, asking only, “Would an older brother do this to a younger brother?”
Ruan Shuyang’s mind was still a foggy mess, unable to collect his thoughts, but he vaguely realized that an older brother probably wouldn’t treat a younger brother this way, let alone mark him.
Pei Siyue didn’t push him to figure it out immediately. After a while, he asked, “School starts next week. Is there anything else you need to prepare?”
Ruan Shuyang replied, “No.”
He had a new phone, a new computer, and a new backpack. Later, Pei Siyue had also asked Ji Huai to help prepare bedding and other essentials for his dorm. As for books, he could buy them together with his classmates after school started.
He was really looking forward to his new life.
**
On Monday, after wrapping up business with Jiang Wu, Pei Siyue suddenly instructed him, “Contact our partner manufacturers and order a custom pair of handcuffs and shackles made of tungsten steel, with both fingerprint and key mechanisms for unlocking.”
Jiang Wu was stunned.
Tungsten steel?
Was it necessary to use such a hard material?
He tactfully suggested, “President Pei, Omegas are generally delicate. Regular handcuffs would suffice.”
They might even need a soft layer of memory foam inside; otherwise, the wrists would definitely get chafed.
He could understand an Enigma and an Omega engaging in some playful fun, but tungsten steel? That was too extreme—too hard, too heavy, bordering on imprisonment and abuse.
He didn't want to see his boss featured on a true crime show.
Pei Siyue rubbed his temples. He hadn't planned to explain, but the misunderstanding was too outrageous. He finally said, “They’re for me.”
This time, Jiang Wu was shocked.
So Enigmas had such specific tastes?
Jiang Wu couldn't even wrap his head around it—such a contrast?
Outwardly tall, strong, and imposing, with an exceptionally robust and muscular build, yet secretly enjoyed being restrained, bound by handcuffs?
Just as he was thinking that not even the most dramatic gossip shows or kink videos would dare to portray such a scenario, Pei Siyue added, “And a muzzle.”
Jiang Wu snapped out of his wild thoughts and cautiously asked, “President Pei, are you worried about your rut?”
Pei Siyue didn’t deny it.
Back when he was still an Alpha, before differentiating into an Enigma, he had experienced ruts. He still remembered the overwhelming aggression and the urge to inflict cruelty during those times.
He was afraid that one day, during his rut as an Enigma, he might lose control. He didn't know what he might do if his pheromones went into a frenzy.
There had been cases of Enigmas losing control during their ruts—it took three squads of police officers and more than ten bullets to bring one down.
Before Ruan Shuyang came along, he believed he could calmly handle anything the world threw at him.
But now, he wasn't so sure.
Just learning about what the Ruan family had done to Ruan Shuyang had already made his pheromones go haywire. If something else were to happen in the future, he couldn't guarantee he would stay in control.
After hearing this, Jiang Wu went ahead and contacted the manufacturers to custom-make the items Pei Siyue requested, stressing they needed them as soon as possible. After all, he was also afraid that his boss might lose control during a rut and end up hurting someone—or himself—under the influence of his pheromones.
Better to have him restrained ahead of time.
