Chapter 159: Game Starts
by 一大颗青提Chapter 159 The Game Begins
Someone: "Close your eyes. You don’t actually think you have special privileges here, do you?"
Song Yuqing ignored Hakimi’s provocation, paying no mind to his furious outburst.
Yet Song Yuqing’s silence once again caused his opponent to falter.
Someone: "Wait, I’ll come retrieve you."
Song Yuqing closed his eyes. Drifting snowflakes landed on his long, dark lashes, lending him an almost ethereal detachment.
His cold, indifferent attitude made Su Quan realize how ridiculous his own loss of control had been.
But… how could he not lose control? After all these years, Song Yuqing, the architect of his suffering, had stepped onto his turf.
Su Quan steadied his raging emotions, trying hard to appear as calm and collected as Song Yuqing, refusing to be at a disadvantage.
Since Song Yuqing dared to come, he would never let him leave. He would make everything Song Yuqing cherished crumble, make him understand that the hounds he'd trained wouldn’t always side with him, make him realize their loyalty could never outweigh their own desires.
He wanted Song Yuqing to suffer worse than death.
A hand brushed against Song Yuqing’s cheek, then wrapped a two-finger-wide black silk ribbon around his gently shut eyes.
His vision plunged into pure darkness. The cold silk pressed tightly against the contours of his eyelids, bringing a subtle yet oppressive sensation.
Snowflakes landed on the silk with faint, almost imperceptible sounds, making the surrounding silence feel even more terrifying.
The alpha’s scorching breath swept past Song Yuqing’s ear as he inhaled his cold fragrance, his fingertips trembling uncontrollably with excitement.
He should hate Song Yuqing to the core.
But… seeing Song Yuqing like this, utterly at his mercy, he couldn’t suppress his excited tremor.
Su Quan raised his hand, wanting to touch Song Yuqing’s cheek again, but Song Yuqing caught his wrist. "Are these boring games fun?"
His voice was calm, without a ripple of emotion.
Su Quan badly wanted to tell him, yes, very much so.
In the vast, snow-covered wilderness, only the two of them remained. Su Quan looked down at Song Yuqing, his eyes blindfolded with silk.
That always cold and distant face now showed a rare vulnerability due to the deprivation of sight.
But his tightly pressed lips maintained a hint of arrogant pride.
Su Quan’s fingertips finally descended, slowly tracing down the young man’s icy, smooth cheek.
Su Quan’s voice was low, blending with the howling wind and snow, carrying a gritty texture.
"Game?" The alpha’s fingers brushed over Song Yuqing’s lips, then moved close to his ear.
Scorching heat clashed with icy cold. Su Quan sneered, "Song Yuqing, do you think this is just a game?"
His other hand abruptly tightened around Song Yuqing’s waist, pulling him closer, allowing no retreat.
"When you pushed me into the abyss back then, did you ever consider it wasn’t a game?" His voice was saturated with years of suppressed pain and a madness on the verge of breaking free. "Do you have any idea how I clawed my way out?"
"You didn’t actually think telling me to die was just a joke I’d find amusing, did you?"
Song Yuqing, trapped in his embrace, his eyelashes lightly trembled under the black silk, but his breathing remained steady. He didn’t even attempt to push Su Quan away, remaining silent as if disdaining to answer.
This silence undoubtedly poured fuel onto the burning hatred in Su Quan’s heart.
Su Quan let out a low laugh, devoid of any joy.
"It’s fine," Su Quan released the slightly reddened lips he had been tormenting, instead touching the black silk over Song Yuqing’s eyes with his fingers, like a twisted kiss. "We have plenty of time… I’ll make you experience it slowly, Song Yuqing."
Su Quan reached out his hand to Song Yuqing, but Song Yuqing didn’t take it.
Su Quan gripped Song Yuqing’s excessively pale wrist and sneered, "Do you think I’m filthy?"
He tightened his grip, as if telling Song Yuqing that even if he found him filthy, "You’ll have to bear it. Do you think you’re clean?"
Su Quan glanced at Song Yuqing again. He did look clean.
"Later, I’ll change you into ragged clothes and throw you in the coal dust. Then we'll see who despises whom more."
Song Yuqing: "..."
88: "..."
Honestly, he suspected Su Quan would surreptitiously sniff his own hand that had touched Song Yuqing.
Or maybe never wash that hand until the day he died.
The winding path, with its continuous turns, was easy to get lost in even with eyes open, let alone with Song Yuqing’s eyes covered by black silk.
The wind lifted the ends of the silk along with his hair, making the young man resemble an elegant, lingering ink painting.
Su Quan instinctively reached out, but his fingertips stopped abruptly upon touching the end of the silk.
Song Yuqing still didn’t speak, sensing the direction, calculating the distance, mapping the route in his mind.
To Su Quan, this behavior felt like cold violence. Song Yuqing could call others fools or little dogs.
But with him, Song Yuqing didn’t say a word.
Was he really that unworthy?
"Don’t you have anything to say to me?" Su Quan restrained himself again and again but couldn’t hold back.
Song Yuqing frowned slightly but remained silent, finding Su Quan noisy.
He was noisy when hiding somewhere sending messages, and now he was still noisy in person.
Song Yuqing suspected Su Quan was trying to distract him from memorizing the escape route, so he broke his silence.
"Release Pei Huai, and I’ll stay."
Song Yuqing’s tone was cold, his thin lips uttering these words.
Su Quan nearly choked on anger. "Impossible. Dream on."
"Debts have owners, grudges have causes. I’m the one who wants you dead. If you want revenge, kill me."
Su Quan’s voice deepened. "Death is too merciful for you."
After saying this, Song Yuqing felt a wave of warmth—not the freezing cold of the outdoors. The next moment, the black silk was pulled away, yet blurry and near-total darkness remained.
But this time, the darkness wasn't from having his eyes covered—it was because the environment itself was pitch black.
He could only see a blurry figure opposite him.
Almost the instant Song Yuqing caught sight of that blurry silhouette, he slapped the alpha's face.
He didn’t hold back at all; the force of it made the alpha’s head snap to the side.
Yet Su Quan laughed. "You owe me another slap."
Song Yuqing’s elegant brows lightly wrinkled. "If you want revenge, just hit me back."
Let’s see who kills whom.
But in the world, many matters aren't solved by who kills whom. Besides, if Su Quan were so easy to kill, he would have ended up as fish food five years ago.
As if exactly reading Song Yuqing’s thoughts, Su Quan said, "Don’t think about killing me now."
"You know you can’t kill me now."
Song Yuqing’s eyelashes lightly lowered.
After speaking, Su Quan took Song Yuqing’s phone. "Given how familiar we are, perhaps you still don’t know my name. I should introduce myself."
Su Quan: "Su Quan, an alpha from the slums of District Five."
Song Yuqing lifted his eyelids slowly, his tone languid. "I remember you were called Hakimi."
After Su Quan finished his introduction, the iron door slammed shut. Through the glass pane in the door, Su Quan watched the blurry yet still slim and straight figure inside.
Su Quan hefted Song Yuqing’s phone in his hand, the faint light from the screen momentarily illuminating the alpha’s face.
"Hakimi?" Su Quan repeated the clearly derogatory and mocking nickname.
Instead of getting angry, he gave a low laugh, the sound chilling in the enclosed space. "Alright, Song Yuqing, keep calling me that."
"Remember this current hatred you feel for me right now," his fingertips scraped across the cold doorframe, producing a faint sound. "You’d better not yield."
His voice dropped even lower, carrying a thick and uncomfortable anticipation.
"The game has only just begun."
"Rest now, young lady. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to see your lover."
The word "young lady" was drawn out so slowly by Su Quan, laced with an undefinable mockery—a clear payback for Song Yuqing not even remembering his fake name.
How could Song Yuqing’s memory be so poor he can't remember a person’s name? Unless he completely didn't care.
If he had really died, perhaps Song Yuqing wouldn’t even remember someone like him.
Luckily…
He didn’t die. He crawled out of that nearly suffocating, numbing cold.
He crawled out to get revenge on Song Yuqing. Even if he had to die, he would drag Song Yuqing down with him, into the abyss.
Song Yuqing turned around. In the limited space, there was only a bed.
The darkness made Song Yuqing’s heart go numb for a moment, but he showed no expression—not even a furrowed brow.
In their current situation, whoever exposed their weakness first would die without a burial place first.
Wait. Be patient.
Song Yuqing’s slender fingers gripped the hem of his clothes.
His long eyelashes lowered, and he lightly closed his eyes.
Su Quan returned to his territory. In the dark room, every screen showed footage of Song Yuqing—each from a different angle.
Su Quan stared at these images with near greed, his eyes repeatedly falling on Song Yuqing’s lips, his waist, his collarbone…
As if his gaze alone could tear away the young man’s clothes, revealing his balanced and beautiful body.
As if his stare could solidify, entering Song Yuqing’s body, embedding deeply into his core, stirring up something pink and white, sweet and cloying.
The listening device could even pick up Song Yuqing’s faint breathing.
Song Yuqing seemed to sense something. His eyelashes lifted slightly, and his amber eyes turned toward a hidden camera, cold and tinged with faint disgust.
Su Quan’s breath hitched. A thrill that made his scalp tingle instantly exploded.
So…
Song Yuqing could look at him like this too.
But the gaze didn’t last long. Soon, Song Yuqing removed all the equipment in the room.
Cutting off these peeping sights.
"How pretty could he really be?"
"You haven’t seen him."
"Su Quan brought him in holding his hand, eyes covered, skin pale as snow. Su Quan wouldn’t even let us look."
"He looks thrilling. I’d heard that the current authority in Xinzhou lies in the hands of a beautiful beta. I didn’t believe it before, but now I do. He really makes people willing to die for him—dying in his bed would probably be euphoric."
"Su Quan says he wants to kill him, but he’s actually so careful, afraid he might fall."
"If we weren’t on opposite sides, I’d want to die by his side too."
"Why can’t we dream? He’s in our territory now—he’s our captive. Maybe once Su Quan gets tired of him, we can have a taste."
Pain and blood loss made Pei Huai’s consciousness hazy. The guards’ words, one after another, reached his ears, gradually sharpening his muddled awareness.
Dizziness and agony pulled at his consciousness like tidal waves, but those filthy words were like a bucket of ice water dumped over his head, jolting Pei Huai awake.
Die… in his bed?
Have a taste?
How dare they speak of Song Yuqing like that? How dare they covet him like that? How could that wretched dog Su Quan allow so many people to lay eyes on Song Yuqing?
A surge of fury made Pei Huai struggle against the chains piercing through his shoulder blades.
He fought desperately to break free, even if it meant ruining his arms—he would kill those outside.
"What was that noise?" As soon as the words were spoken, an alpha was grabbed by the neck. The next second, his head tilted at an unnatural angle.
His eyes were wide with terror, still frozen in disbelief, but his body had already gone limp and collapsed to the ground with a dull thud.
The others turned and saw Pei Huai, who had dragged himself in chains to the bars. His eyes were bloodshot, burning with cruel bloodlust.
Blood poured from the alpha’s shoulders, pooling into a bright red puddle on the floor.
“He’s gone mad—completely mad,” another guard finally found his voice, staggering back, his weapon trembling in his hands.
The prison cell was saturated with the alpha’s frenzied, chaotic pheromones—thick with the metallic tang of blood and slaughter, making it hard to breathe.
He had to find Song Yuqing. He could die here—but Song Yuqing could not remain in this place. Even if it cost him his life, he would fight to get Song Yuqing out.
In the surveillance room, Su Quan watched the scene with boredom, observing how the Sri Lankan alphas panicked at Pei Huai’s outburst.
He thought maliciously, *Can’t even handle a little gossip? If something were to happen to Song Yuqing… wouldn’t Pei Huai drop dead on the spot?*
Worthless alpha—he deserved to die.
Pei Huai deserved to die—and so did every alpha surrounding Song Yuqing.

When he himself was locked up, Pei the dog: *Wifey, wifey, wifey…*
When wifey showed up, Pei the dog: *WIFEY!!!*
Qingqing: *You didn’t seem all that pleased when I actually showed up.*
