    Chapter 13: Giving Medicine

Qiao Zhimian absolutely refused to go to the hospital, so Lian Yi had no choice but to call a doctor for a home visit.

The base of his tailbone was bruised—he had delicate skin, and being so slender with a thin layer of subcutaneous fat, even minor bumps easily left bruises. Fortunately, there was no serious bone injury, but it was painful.

On his fair, slender lower back, just above the soft and firm curve of his buttocks, the bruise looked as if someone had punched him hard, which looked quite pitiful.

When asked how it happened, he was initially evasive and unwilling to say.

Only when the alpha pressed him did he finally confess.

That morning, while washing up in the bathroom, he felt lightheaded from low blood sugar, stumbled, and fell.

He probably hit it again when he was thrown onto the bed earlier, intensifying the pain.

Lian Yi frowned, looking down at the small figure nestled against his shoulder; a sour, uneasy feeling stirred in his heart.

He hadn’t known any of this—perhaps because of their minor disagreement, Qiao Zhimian hadn’t told him about it that morning.

Normally, if they weren’t in a rush, Lian Yi would carry him to the bathroom, and they would brush their teeth together.

The doctor recommended applying an ice pack first, followed by a topical medication to promote blood circulation and reduce bruising.

Before the doctor left, Lian Yi asked for additional care instructions and carefully followed each step.

The omega lay obediently in the alpha’s arms, very aware of the gentle, soothing touch of his palm on his lower back, filled with tenderness.

Whether it was from the pain or some other emotion, Lian Yi could feel the boy’s breathing grow moist and shaky, his soft, shallow breaths warming the side of his neck as if he were holding back sorrow.

“If you want to cry, then cry, Qiao Zhimian. Let it all out,” Lian Yi sighed softly.

He would rather see him cry than watch him suppress his emotions like this.

Several seconds passed after the alpha spoke before Qiao Zhimian took a deep breath and buried his face in Lian Yi’s neck, letting out fragmented sobs.

By the time the treatment was finished, Qiao Zhimian’s heat had fully taken hold.

His body burned with fever, glistening with fragrant sweat, and his gaze grew increasingly unfocused and dazed.

Lian Yi released calming pheromones, cradled the back of his head, and carefully laid him on the bed, even adding a softer blanket beneath him to avoid aggravating his injury.

The omega’s eyes were glistening with moisture, the corners tinged with a flush of pink. The discomfort brought on by his heat grew increasingly intense.

His rounded shoulders and delicate collarbones glowed with a soft pink hue beneath fair skin, exuding the subtle fragrance of white roses—enticing and seductive.

Lian Yi’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he leaned in, gently covering Qiao Zhimian’s body, kissing his cheeks, his sharp jawline, and finally his lips with tenderness.

Every inch of skin touched by the man tingled as if electrified. Qiao Zhimian trembled, tears welling in his eyes, and let out a soft moan.

For some reason, the memory of being treated roughly earlier resurfaced, bringing back a wave of hurt.

As the alpha leaned in to kiss him again, Qiao Zhimian weakly raised a hand, placing it lightly over Lian Yi’s lips.

Pursing his lips, the omega met the man’s deep gaze and murmured unconvincingly, “I don’t want you…”

Lian Yi paused, his eyes softening yet burning with possessiveness.

Teasingly, he took Qiao Zhimian’s slender fingers into his mouth, gently licking the tips.

He was careful not to hurt him, avoiding using his teeth entirely.

“Don’t want me?” He pressed his forehead against Qiao Zhimian’s, his voice deep and pleasing, intimate in tone. “Then who do you want?”

Qiao Zhimian’s nose tingled with emotion. His dazed, soft eyes locked with the alpha’s as if he were about to drown in his gaze.

He wanted to resist a little longer, but he was Lian Yi’s omega—they were bonded.

For him in the throes of heat, the alpha’s bamboo-scented pheromones, so full of comfort and protection, were utterly irresistible. The attraction made it impossible for him to voice any further refusal.

Just then, Qiao Zhimian felt a firm squeeze on his buttocks, startling a short gasp from him.

“Really don’t want it? Hmm?” Lian Yi said wickedly.

The omega bit his lip, the tips of his ears turned bright red. He became slightly more aware, and he tried to pull his finger back from the man’s mouth, but it was held fast.

Lian Yi smirked and released him, then continued to kiss and soothe him.

Qiao Zhimian arched his neck in pleasure, moaning incoherently as he clung to the alpha’s head, lost in bliss.

“You have to apologize to me…” he mumbled hurtly. “You were rough with me earlier… and you threw me…”

Lian Yi’s breathing grew heavier; the mingling of their pheromones made him restless and thirsty with desire.

Between fervent kisses, he whispered tenderly, “That wasn’t throwing you. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” He added earnestly, “It won’t happen again.”

Somewhat appeased, Qiao Zhimian arched his back and pressed his small chest against the man’s firm torso, rubbing against the fabric of his clothes.

His legs were too weak to move or wrap around Lian Yi’s waist, and the unrelenting heat left him on the verge of tears again.

    “Senior… Senior…” he sobbed.

Lian Yi answered him, kissing his lips and enveloping his body, his broad hand cupping Qiao Zhimian’s beautiful face to reassure him.

“Lian Yi…” he trembled, whispering his name.

“I’m here. I’ll always be here.”

The omega panted softly, nuzzling his flushed face against the alpha’s large hand before closing his eyes and burying into his palm with dependence.

Lian Yi cradled his head, his thumb stroking his soft cheek tenderly.

Sweat glistened on the alpha’s muscular frame; he was afraid of hurting this fragile, slender figure bearing his weight—so delicate and easily broken.

In the quiet of the night, the spacious bedroom was filled with the lingering intimacy of their lovemaking.

    .

Their intertwined pheromones hung thick in the air, almost visible in their intensity.

Lian Yi, now wearing a pair of casual pants, tidied up the mess on the floor before quietly fetching a basin of warm water. He gently wiped the sleeping omega’s stomach clean.

Once finished, he couldn’t help but gaze a while longer.

The boy’s slender waist had no excess flesh, his hip bones prominent, and the curves at his sides dipped inward delicately. His pale, tender skin was marked with fingerprints and kisses, rising and falling softly with each breath.

As if guided by some impulse, Lian Yi spread his hand beside Qiao Zhimian’s waist—his thumb and fingers stretching wide nearly spanned its width.

Such a slender waist, such a small frame.

    How could he possibly eat...

Lian Yi swallowed hard, pulling back from his reverie, afraid he might lose control and do something again.

His gaze fell on the boy's peaceful, serene face—his eyes and lips were severely swollen.

A strange, full feeling welled up in his chest.

This was his omega wife, and also his junior schoolmate.

Now he finally understood why those alpha classmates back in college never focused on their studies, instead becoming completely infatuated with omegas.

In his delirium, he naturally depended entirely on his alpha.

It made it impossible not to feel protective of him.

That impulse to give him anything he wanted.

The omega's entire body was pinkish and pale; even as he lay exhausted and passed out, his smooth, bare arms still clung dependently to Lian Yi's arm, his face pressed against his palm, soft cheeks squished, lips slightly pouted.

    So adorable...

He used to be able to work nonstop, even finding reciting legal clauses and reviewing cases as ways to relax.

Now he just felt like he had missed out on so many other interesting moments.

As Qiao Zhimian's wave of passion passed, his mind cleared up a lot.

    .

Still holding a grudge, he hadn't forgotten the alpha's fierce expression.

His nipples were swollen and painful, and the man had applied a dressing, the same kind he used last time for his scraped knuckles.

The cartoon pattern looked utterly ridiculous, and since he had bought it himself, he couldn’t bring himself to get angry.

He lay weakly on the bed, feeling wronged, his nose and eyes red, buried in the pillow.

Lian Yi took advantage of the omega being awake now, before the second wave of passion hit, went downstairs to the living room to get a bottle of nutritional drink, then returned shirtless, lifted him from the bed, and tried to feed it to him to replenish some energy for the upcoming "battle."

But this ungrateful one, after being well taken care of, started sulking and throwing a tantrum, pushing his hand away and refusing to drink no matter what.

He frowned helplessly, his tone tinged with a stern, warning tone: "Qiao Zhimian?"

After saying this, he met the wet, almond-shaped eyes of the person in his arms for two seconds, then withdrew the pushed-away hand and continued feeding him.

The omega leaned in the alpha's arms, staring stubbornly at him, not afraid at all, and continued disobediently pushing him away.

Lian Yi raised an eyebrow, out of patience, a playful, mischievous smile suddenly appearing in his eyes.

Watching his furious expression, he parted his thin lips and drank the nutritional drink himself right in front of him.

Then he tossed the bottle aside, gripped the omega's slender chin, and kissed him forcefully on his swollen lips.

Qiao Zhimian's eyes widened in shock, and he began to struggle with muffled protests. He felt the man's tongue skillfully and easily pry open his teeth.

The nutritional drink mixed with saliva was pushed into his small mouth.

The man gently licked his palate, the sensitive touch making him shiver, tears welling in the corners of his eyes. His small throat bobbed as he obediently swallowed it down with a gulp.

Noticing the omega's swallow, Lian Yi smiled in satisfaction. He didn't let go immediately, instead sucking his tongue a bit more, only withdrawing after he'd had his fill of kisses.

Qiao Zhimian gasped for air, coughing lightly from choking, his fingers instinctively gripping the alpha's shirt.

Lian Yi tightened his embrace, gently patting his back to help him calm down.

    "Want more?" he asked deliberately.

The omega's face and ears flushed bright red, his heart pounding loudly.

Whether from embarrassment or coughing, he evasively buried his face in the man's shoulder, turning away and biting his lip, not letting him see his expression.

    "Scoundrel... shameless..." he muttered.

After staying silent for a few seconds, the more he thought about it, the angrier he got. He growled and sank his teeth hard into the man's broad shoulder.

After the second wave of passion passed, Lian Yi tidied the room and found that the condoms stored in the bedside drawer were all used up.

    .

He went to the other drawer to check if there were any left.

When he pulled it open, he paused slightly—inside were two bottles of white-packaged medicine.

He glanced at Qiao Zhimian on the bed, thoughtfully took out the medicine, and examined it.

It was medication primarily used for personality disorders.

Lian Yi quietly closed the drawer, holding the bottle as he walked out of the room, and carefully reviewed the case file Qiao Baichen had sent him.

He noticed that most of the information focused on leg injuries and external wounds, with only brief notes on psychological aspects.

He asked for Qiao Zhimian's psychologist's phone number and, after a brief hesitation, dialed it.

"Alright, Mr. Lian," after a long conversation, the psychologist's calm, professional voice came through the phone: "From your description, it seems Mr. Qiao may be experiencing mild separation anxiety regarding you."

"I suggest that before you leave home, clearly explain where you're going and when you'll return. Avoid sudden departures. You can let him keep an item you frequently use, maintain regular contact, and reassure him."

"Additionally, please be sure to show him more patience and understanding, and avoid criticizing his behavior."

Lian Yi took a deep breath, his heart aching painfully. After agreeing with the psychologist, he hung up the phone.

The past trauma had been too great, leading to some degree of personality disorder.

They had been married for so long, yet he hadn't realized he had been taking medication all this time.

And he had even had such heated conflicts and arguments with him before.

He gripped his phone tightly for a moment to compose himself before returning to the room.

The omega on the bed fretted uneasily in his sleep, only relaxing when Lian Yi approached and released a controlled amount of pheromones.
