    Chapter 206

Early the next morning, Norton went to wake Ye Mo. Ye Mo yawned as he finished washing up, then Norton led him to the medical center upstairs.

The medical center was originally tucked away in a corner of the Granthum Palace, but since Ye Mo arrived, it had been moved nearby. Ye Mo went there every few days, and recently, since he was growing so fast and needed close monitoring, he went every day.

A group of doctors in white coats gathered around and began their routine checkup on Ye Mo.

Ye Mo skillfully spread his arms, cooperating with the exam, and asked worriedly if he'd need another nutrient shot today.

Norton whispered to the head doctor, "His food intake went up again last night. Isn't this rate a little too fast?"

The head doctor looked down at the data flashing on the screen. "About two more weeks before the cocooning period ends completely. During these two weeks, the little prince's body will grow faster than ever, enough to keep his psychic power growing."

"His body can handle it. The demand is based on his body's digestion and absorption capacity and the speed at which he needs to grow. The little prince's current physical fitness might even be better than the average Granthum kid his age."

He paused, rechecked Ye Mo's initial and current height, noticing the big difference. Ye Mo's growth rate was still accelerating, and unless he went back to his original age, he'd have to make up that height difference fast, and it wouldn't be easy.

Moreover, the energy Ye Mo needed during his cocooning period was much greater than what a normal cocooning period needs.

The doctor wasn't too concerned about Ye Mo's oddly high energy intake, and neither was the rest of the medical team; instead, they were quite expectant, since it meant Ye Mo would end up way fitter than before.

"The little prince is indeed growing very fast. In this final period, it's best to put the little prince in a medical pod for some time each day to supplement the nutrients his body needs. This will take a lot of pressure off his eating."

"Although the medical pod's primary function was repair and treatment, the liquid inside was a mix of medicine and nutrients, which could efficiently provide the energy the human body needed."

"The time should go up a bit each day, matching how much energy the little prince needs. In the last few days of the cocooning period, the little prince might have to stay in the pod round the clock."

"For now, he can just sleep in the pod at night, which can also ease the little prince's growing pains."

Norton carefully noted all of this, asked about various precautions one by one, and then left with Ye Mo.

After the examination, Norton added "install a medical pod in Ye Mo's room" to his to-do list.

Ye Mo cheerfully took the bag of cookies and soft candies the doctor gave him, eating as he followed Norton out of the medical center and into the study.

Secretary-General Lin was already in the study, waiting.

When Norton got there, Baide and the others were looking at something.

Arnold and Secretary-General Lin had been hanging around the planet they first landed on, waiting for them to come to us.

"I used my psychic power to jam their internal and public channels. Their leader was friendly but nervous; he probably didn't tell everyone why they came. I overheard someone on a private channel saying this place is called 'the Abandoned Land' and we're 'the Remnants.'"

    "That fits Granthum perfectly."

Granthum's old territory was the Abandoned Land—they were a nation that crawled out of that man-made hell, ghouls from a place everyone thought had no future.

Baide looked up, "Tell them we can represent the entire fallen civilization and give them the method for making psychic weapons, but all we want is their mecha manufacturing tech. Then we'll share it with other countries too. Of course, we'll allow them to give the psychic weapon manufacturing method to other countries too."

Baide smirked mischievously as he spoke. Giving them a technology that was almost semi-public in various countries was much better than what the Spider had initially demanded. This keeps the trade equal.

Moreover, this trade was between two civilizations. It was predictable that once the technology was disclosed, it'll put the Spider and his buddies in a tight spot.

Secretary-General Lin subconsciously looked at Norton, who had been standing to the side after coming in.

Norton listened to the whole thing, then nodded briefly, "Do as he says."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Secretary-General Lin bowed and hurriedly left.

"Mecha manufacturing technology…" The Major General looked up at the others. "What are your opinions?"

"Once these two civilizations start contacting each other, they'll figure out mecha manufacturing sooner or later. It's an open secret across the Federal Empire."

"We could even throw in some mecha blueprints."

"This was a technique used by every mecha pilot. There was nothing special about it. Mecha pilots built various mechas based on this technical foundation."

"I say it's worth the trade. It'll take some heat off us too."

After some discussion, almost everyone present okayed the proposal.

The Major General looked at his adjutant. "We can reply. We agree to the tech swap." His tone was cautious and serious.

After the meeting, the Major General relaxed a bit and joked half-seriously, "We don't have much time to babysit those energetic kids lately. Keep your students in check, give 'em busywork, and don't let 'em get bored."

Apart from providing aid and preventing the Empire from jumping ahead, another reason for their visit was that the military academy had set its internship location here. This was the most important internship before graduation and would be the first actual combat for those young people.

Recently, they had been focused on other matters—finding a decent spot to set up base, negotiating unfamiliar technology trades—and had somewhat neglected these students. Since recalling the young people, they hadn't paid much attention to them.

These young people had indeed been idle since being recalled, but most of them remained in an excited state. Breaking away from their usual courses, coming to a new place, and meeting a new human civilization—anyone would be pumped about that, especially these young people.

Among this group, Ye Qingsheng really stood out. He seemed way too calm. While his peers were curiously exploring the mothership and sharing what they'd seen,

Ye Qingsheng followed his training plan in the gym, then ate and slept—like a robot.

But only he knew that every day, even every time he started a training session, he couldn't help thinking: if it were that kid, that man, what level would they reach?

If they got in a mecha, what kind of power would they let loose?

Without realizing it, Ye Qingsheng had long stopped caring about those so-called elites from his school.

    "I knew they'd agree."

Baide said smugly, "They also want to invite us for exchange visits. From my experience, they probably want to give us some mechas as samples."

He had reason to be proud. They had just conducted an equal trade with a high-level civilization and foiled the Spider's scheme.

The others ignored Baide and continued with their work. They knew Baide—paying attention only made him more arrogant and overbearing.

Only Ye Mo ran over, eagerly listening to Baide talk. Every time, he would let out an emotional "Wow!" and look at Baide with eyes clearly saying, "Baide is amazing."

    This made Baide very pleased.

Baide became a bit more serious and turned to Norton, "There definitely won't be any head of state among the people they send. In that case, you shouldn't go yourself. Leave it to me."

In diplomatic relations between nations, there should be more formalities.

After Ye Mo's "Wow," he still stood next to Baide. When Baide finished speaking, he immediately said, "Then can I go with you, Baide? I want to see it too."

Baide turned his head and immediately looked at Norton beside him, redirecting the blame.

Ye Mo immediately understood and ran to Norton, looking at him expectantly. "Dad, I want to go see too."

Norton put down the documents and looked at Deenlie, who was engrossed in his paperwork. "If Deenlie can go watch over you."

Beside them, Baide snorted, claiming he could watch Ye Mo too, but Norton didn't trust him. Then he instantly shut up when Herli brought up the incident of his first meeting with Ye Mo.

Ye Mo turned to look at Deenlie, then turned back after a few seconds, his expression conflicted for a while, and finally whispered, "Then I'll stay home with Dad."

Deenlie came over at some point, gently pinching Ye Mo's nape as a punishment, like a big cat disciplining a disobedient cub.

Ye Mo ducked his head, then heard Deenlie grunt in acknowledgment to Norton.

Arnold quickly said, "Then I'll go too."

Norton looked at Arnold and nodded slightly.

Ye Mo immediately became happy again, following behind Deenlie and pouring out a stream of sweet talk.

This made Arnold unable to resist stopping him mid-stride. "Little liar, just earlier you were saying I'm the best uncle."

Ye Mo was picked up but still responded enthusiastically, "Uncle Arnold is also the best uncle!"

Arnold felt like he was holding a very affectionate puppy—even while being held, it kept wagging its tail and turning its head to enthusiastically lick your hand with its warm tongue.

Herli raised her hand beside them. "Then I want to go too."

Adrian said casually, "I'm available too."

Norton looked up at them, cutting off the others who were eager. "Take turns. I need manpower. Only three can go."

Herli looked at Adrian. Adrian tsked and looked away reluctantly.

Ye Mo turned back to Norton's side, habitually resting his head on Norton's knee. He used to do this when he was little, but now that he was taller, it was a bit awkward. Yet he still tried to squeeze himself into Norton's arms, then confidently comforted Norton, "When I grow up, I'll help Dad work too."

Ye Mo emphasized, "Sylvia praised me for being the best at chores."

Norton grunted, his gaze lingered on Ye Mo for a moment before returning to the documents in front of him.
