    Chapter 20

Two seconds later, she was eating her words.

With a bang, her mind went blank. The voices of Suguru Geto and Li Xin faded into the background, as if coming from far away.

A warm current poured into her navel, spreading from her lower abdomen throughout her body through that small opening, making her unable to suppress a shiver.

"Xiyin, are you cold?" Li Xin's voice pulled her back to reality, asking with concern, "It did rain today, and the temperature is much lower than usual."

Out of a mix of pride and embarrassment, she grabbed a blanket from beside her and whipped it over herself with a swish. Whether it blocked the wind or kept her warm didn't matter; the real point was to remind that guy not to push his luck.

Xia Xiyin reached under the blanket and cupped the man's face with one hand. However, her hand was too slender and small to even cover half of Gojo Satoru's face, just barely covering one side.

Her goal wasn't achieved, but Gojo Satoru wasn't annoyed at all. After all, a good hunter knows how to wait until the catch is made.

The citrusy scent of body wash hit his nose, and he took a deep breath, drawing the sweet scent deep into his lungs.

A sultry atmosphere filled the cramped space, dizzying and seductive.

He couldn't stop himself from leaning in, his lips landing on her soft fingertips, gently kissing them. His high nose bridge pressed against her palm as he breathed in the scent. Her hand, now teased, was slick with moisture.

She seemed unable to stand it any longer and silently withdrew, but not before pinching his cheek.

The victor, Gojo Satoru, couldn't help but swing his legs with a smug grin.

His naturally rosy lips gently touched her, and his sharp teeth even mischievously rubbed against her skin, making Xia Xiyin let out a tiny, breathy sound.

Although Gojo Satoru pulled away almost instantly, Xia Xiyin's whole body trembled, half of it numb.

"Cough, cough!" She covered half of her face with her hand, pretending to cough twice.

It was both a warning and a way to hide her excessively fast heartbeat from being noticed.

"Xiyin, I feel like you might have caught a cold," Li Xin watched the woman on screen, whose eyes were cast down and gradually losing focus, and couldn't help urging her, "Yin Yin, maybe you should rest for a while."

No matter how capable a person is, there are times when they misjudge.

In the past, Li Xin would have definitely noticed what a flushed face and slight panting meant.

Having had countless boyfriends, how could someone who loves thrills not notice?

It wasn't because of the weather, nor entirely because she was deceived by Suguru Geto's warm and gentle demeanor.

Rather, Li Xin would never imagine that Xia Xiyin, a stick-in-the-mud who guarded her chastity and never even stepped foot in a karaoke bar, would do such a thing.

Even if Xia Xiyin wouldn't do it, wouldn't Suguru Geto, who appeared "gentle" by her side, do it?

Li Xin had also noticed that her boyfriend wasn't exactly a proper person either.

But what she didn't expect was that aside from Suguru Geto, there was another person.

This guy had a rotten personality, doing whatever he pleased with zero sense of decorum or discretion.

"Li Xin, I think I might be coming down with a cold. Let's talk next time!"

With that, Xia Xiyin hung up, lifted the blanket in one swift move.

She suddenly lowered her head and met Gojo Satoru's eyes. Normally, she'd fall for those azure blue eyes, but not this time!

    This rotten high school brat!

"Satoru~" Xia Xiyin gritted her teeth and called his name, "I love you~"

Her voice simmered with anger, shame, and helplessness, but more than anything, it held the recklessness of someone who had nothing left to lose.

Her throat tightened, making the name come out sticky and syrupy. Xia Xiyin said it with a twist, as if dipped in syrup, her voice trailing up in a seductive lilt.

But this time, the sugar wasn't sweet candy; it was sugar laced with poison.

Xia Xiyin was like the queen in Snow White, jealous of the princess, personally pressing the poisoned apple against Gojo Satoru's lips, tempting him.

    To swallow it was death.

Without waiting for Gojo Satoru to apologize, Xia Xiyin cupped his white, soft head, her hand rubbing his reddened lips.

Before, she might have wondered if kissing him would feel like jelly.

At this very moment, the thought still crossed her mind, but more than that, she wanted to silence it for good.

She murmured softly, "Satoru, do you know who I am? What I have to do this month?"

"Ah, you don't know, since you're just a high schooler. Are you sure you can definitely go back in a month? What if there's another month? Who's cooking for you guys? What will you do if you go hungry? Ah, I have to go to the mall this afternoon to buy you clothes and new toiletries."

"Satoru, you seem like some spoiled rich kid. Can you cook? Can you do housework? What if you get sick, and what if you're allergic to the medicine here? What about the food—what if you can't eat certain things? Oh, and your identity? Useless here. You're basically an illegal alien. What if the police find out and take you away?"

Xia Xiyin kept rambling without pausing, nearly choking on her own words, panting heavily.

Until a cup of hot water appeared in front of her. She turned slightly, held the cup, and took a sip.

Once she caught her breath, she broke into a smile and said in a lilting voice, "Of course, Suguru, you're a little better than Satoru."

As she finished speaking, she lifted Gojo Satoru's head, letting it rest in the crook of her arm, and pressed the cup of water to his lips.

    "Ah, drink some water."

Gojo Satoru's mind churned slowly like a rusty gear, allowing himself to be manipulated mechanically, drinking the water.

Because of the angle and her impatient feeding, some droplets of water dripped from the corner of his mouth, flowed down his chiseled jaw, and landed on his pale clavicle, pooling into a tiny puddle.

    "What a mess you made."

Xia Xiyin grabbed a tissue from the table and, as if soothing a child, roughly wiped the water from him in circles.

She balled up the wet tissue and tossed it into the bin.

    "Clang."

Her aim was off, the trash can tipped over, and the sound jolted Gojo Satoru back to reality.

His gaze landed on her long black hair swayed as if dancing.

Xia Xiyin raised her head and chugged a big mouthful of cola, but she didn't swallow it.

How did Gojo Satoru know that?

The moment their lips met, the sugary cola flooded his mouth, and he instinctively swallowed it. But in his throat, besides the cola, there was another sweet flavor.

Her nimble tongue swept through his mouth without any hindrance, claiming his mouth thoroughly and forcefully. Until she had completely stolen his breath, Xia Xiyin finally pulled away from his lips.

Gojo Satoru's pupils constricted, dizzy from the mischievous adult's kiss, his consciousness dragged into a fog.

"Satoru, I thought you didn't like water, so I gave you cola. You really are still a high schooler, look, you have cola at the corner of your mouth."

Then the mischievous adult gently lifted his chin and used her thumb to wipe away the sweet liquid hanging at the corner of his mouth, about to drip.

She held her thumb to his lips and licked it clean, not leaving a single drop.

"Good kids don't waste food, okay?" Xia Xiyin tilted her head, looking down at him, and coaxed in a gentle tone.

    "I'm sorry..."

Gojo Satoru said slowly, his blue eyes unblinking, tracing her dark eyebrows and red lips.

"Mm, in someone else's home, you have to listen to the adults, got it?"

The warning rang in his ears. If it had been the old Gojo Satoru, it would have gone in one ear and out the other, or even been met with a sneer.

But the voice whispering in his ear was too melodious and compelling, carrying an undeniable force that forced him to remember it, silently reciting it in his mind.

"That's great, Satoru." Xia Xiyin clapped her hands and said lightly. "If you had refused, you'd be eating bitter melon today!"

After saying this, Xia Xiyin wrapped her arms around his waist, lifted him, and pressed him onto the sofa.

Seeing the usually rebellious person so obedient, she couldn't help but make another request.

"You can't do this in front of others." This was a statement, a command, and a demand.

When dealing with a clueless high school student, she had to strike decisively and cut through the mess quickly. She couldn't give him or herself a chance to negotiate, or else he'd push his luck.

She locked her gaze on his face, observing his reaction.

Gojo Satoru clutched his chest, his eyes lowered, emotions churning and intensifying. Faced with the unknown, he wilted like a flower and quickly lost his edge.

Finally he gave in, his voice no longer bright, but low and husky.

    "Oh." He was completely subdued.

Xia Xiyin turned sideways. In her line of sight, the other high schooler was in shock, his pupils constricted, his mouth twitching uncontrollably, clearly shaken by what had just happened.

    Well, she'd forgotten about him.

Her gaze grew somber. She made a meaningful sound and drawled, "Suguru, do you have any objections?"

Having witnessed the horrifying scene, Suguru Geto shuddered. To save his own skin, he nodded obediently. His lips pressed into a straight line, words caught in his throat, only a nasal 'Mm' escaping.

Actually, it wasn't that he deliberately didn't answer; he was just too stunned by the scene to know how to respond.

    "Huh?"

Xia Xiyin interlaced her fingers, resting her chin on them, her gaze as sharp as icicles: "Suguru, you don't seem to like cola. I'll go get some soba noodles from the kitchen then."

Intimidation and threats—Xia Xiyin was serious.

A wise man knows when to adapt. Suguru Geto gave a bitter smile, raised his hands, and surrendered to the wicked woman.

"No objections at all. In this house, Xia Xiyin is in charge."

Having regained control of the household, Xia Xiyin stood up and stretched.

She bent slightly, hands behind her back, straightened her spine, lifted her chin slightly, and gave a wink.
