    Chapter 80: I Didn't See Anything

    "Don't, don't, don't—I beg you, beg you..."

    "Beg me for what?"

"Lan He! Don't go too far! I already begged you, what more do you want?!" Pei Yuhuai's face was flushed red—whether from anger or from holding it in, it was hard to say.

Lan He pulled back at just the right moment, stepping back and pressing his palms together: "Amitabha. The Buddha probably wouldn't approve of us carrying on like this. Maybe we should just sit and meditate."

    "You—"

Pei Yuhuai was so mad he wanted to curse out his own mother, through gritted teeth: "Fine then! I can handle it myself, no problem. You're useless—what do I even need you for? You're not even as dependable as a little toy."

    "Oh?"

"Get out, just get out. Tonight you're sleeping on the floor outside."

Pei Yuhuai covered himself with one hand while shoving Lan He toward the door with the other. He pushed him all the way to the threshold, but Lan He suddenly spun around and pinned him against the doorframe.

His gaze traveled downward inch by inch, landing on a certain spot, and he chuckled lowly: "Looks like someone's having a pretty strong reaction."

    "Scram."

"If I scram, who's going to put out your fire? Who's going to make you feel good?"

    "..."

Even Pei Yuhuai's ears were burning hot.

    Nobody understands this.

This lewd monk was getting kinkier by the day.

He'd originally planned to handle it himself, but with those words stirring him up, the little worm inside him instantly stirred awake, like it had a built-in GPS—no matter how it twisted and turned, it always made a beeline for its target.

    Itchy.

His heart was itching, and so was his body.

Pei Yuhuai snatched up his umpteenth string of prayer beads in irritation and hurled them to the ground: "Quit chanting, quit chanting! What Buddha could possibly matter more than me? Get over here and plant a few kisses on me."

He grabbed Lan He by the collar and hauled him in.

Lan He glanced sideways at the prayer beads that had rolled a few circles on the floor, now covered in dust—just like being stained by worldly desires, the marks on them impossible to wash away.

"Pei Hang, if you were a monk, you'd definitely be the most wanton one."

Lan He deliberately murmured lowly into his ear.

Pei Yuhuai was lost in a haze of desire, barely registering what he was even saying, just nodding along like a bobblehead: "Mm, you're right. Good, faster—go faster."

    "You saying I'm too slow?"

With that, Lan He pursed his lips, one hand digging into his waist, his voice low and husky: "Then you'd better be able to handle it. Even if you're begging for mercy later, I'm not letting up."

The door slammed violently, the impacts coming fast and furious like a disaster, the wooden frame creaking and groaning—loud and tantalizing in the silent night.

Pei Yi had just arrived with a pot of tea to serve his master when he heard the unusual sounds. Through the dimness, he could vaguely make out two figures, practically fused together.

From inside the room, Pei Yuhuai's blood-curdling shrieks and curses rang out intermittently, like he was being bullied and beaten.

    Pei Yi freaked out immediately.

"Oh no—the young master's in trouble! I've gotta save him!"

Forgetting the tea entirely, Pei Yi chucked the pot aside with a loud crash, then sprinted toward the door. The sounds got clearer with every step.

Pei Yuhuai was facing the door directly. Though he couldn't make out who it was, he could clearly see the approaching figure and hear the footsteps.

Instead of feeling scared, a surge of warmth rushed through him, his whole body clenching involuntarily.

Lan He winced at the sudden squeeze, pinching him hard and growling under his breath: "You like the thrill that much? Want me to open the door?"

Pei Yuhuai bit his lip, not daring to make a sound—completely unable to speak. All he could do was glare at him.

    Glaring did nothing.

Lan He had also noticed the figure outside. With a wicked grin, he yanked Pei Yuhuai up, hooked an arm around his neck and pinned his arms, leaving him nothing to lean on except Lan He's body.

Then he gave it to him good.

Pei Yi pushed on the door, but it wouldn't budge. Panicking, he called out: "Young master! Young master, are you in there? Are you alright? Young master, open the door!"

Open the damn door, my ass.

Pei Yuhuai cursed in his head, praying Pei Yi would just leave. But his body was inexplicably loving the thrill.

Maybe it was Lan He's influence—he actually found this kind of situation even hotter, unconsciously matching Lan He's rhythm, making the man behind him go red-eyed with raw hunger.

The commotion grew louder, but the door remained shut.

Pei Yi was truly worried. He pushed a few more times, still no luck. Finally, he wet his finger with saliva and poked a hole through the paper window of the door.

He pressed his eye to it.

Through the small opening, he came face to face with Pei Yuhuai's flushed, glazed eyes—cheeks stained red, sweat rolling down, hair plastered wetly to his shoulders.

His gaze drifted just a little lower.

A discarded belt. Disheveled robes. An open collar. Prominent collarbones. A neck dotted with ambiguous marks—all exposed without warning to Pei Yi's eyes.

Especially the way his young master was rocking forward again and again, like riding a horse.

Except he wasn't the one riding. Behind him stood another man, long pale fingers gripping his chin, toying with him in delight.

Any fool could see what was happening.

Pei Yi's face went white as a sheet. He stumbled backward, missed a step, and tumbled down the stairs, not even daring to look back as he scrambled to his feet and fled.

Whether anyone else had seen it, he didn't know—but he was red as an eggplant from head to toe.

He'd always known his young master and the National Preceptor had something going on, even sleeping together at night. But knowing and seeing it with his own eyes were two completely different things.

    This live show...

It was a severe shock to Pei Yi, a straight man through and through.

Through that small hole, Pei Yuhuai had watched the entire sequence of Pei Yi's shock unfold. At first, he hadn't thought much of it.

Seeing Pei Yi flee in panic, a wave of shame belatedly rushed to Pei Yuhuai's head, almost going soft.

    -

By the time they finished, it was well past midnight.

Pei Yi didn't show his face for the rest of the night. Even when hot water was requested, it was sent by other servants. Apparently he wasn't feeling well and had gone to bed early.

Since the damage was done, Pei Yuhuai couldn't be bothered to dwell on it. He just let it go and went about his business.

Lan He couldn't have cared less.

    The next day came.

When Pei Yi came in to wait on him, he kept his head lowered, not daring to look Pei Yuhuai in the eye. Pei Yuhuai also pretended nothing had happened.

    It was awkward.

Pei Yuhuai and Lan He sat under the pavilion drinking tea, while Pei Yi stood nearby, looking up at the sky, taking in the scenery.

Every now and then, he'd sneak a peek.

No one paid him any mind.

Lan He lifted his gaze, swept a look over Pei Yi, and said lightly, "Pei Yi's not getting any younger, is he? Shouldn't we arrange a marriage for him?"

At that, Pei Yi hit his knees with a thud. "No, no, no, Master, I—I didn't see anything. Really, I swear I didn't see anything. Don't send me away! I don't want to marry. I just want to serve the young master."

    Pei Yuhuai: "..."

    Look at you, all spineless.

    Hard to watch.

"Young master, don't send me off. I truly didn't see anything. I was just passing by last night. I—I got tired on the way and went back to bed. Young master."

    "..."

    Enough.
