    Chapter 42: So Hot

Chi Xingcun saw it, pursed his lips, and typed back: "I chose it."

Because of the way Qin Liyi was acting, the atmosphere was a bit awkward. Chi Xingcun also felt a bit sorry for the class monitor, having to deal with Qin Liyi's sour expression.

Qin Liyi: "This place is nice."

Seeing the message, Chi Xingcun was speechless.

    So two-faced, you idiot.

The menus were brought over, one for each of them. Qin Liyi flipped through his menu, asking Chi Xingcun what he wanted to eat with a strong sense of ownership, then added his own choices and told the waiter all at once.

His whole demeanor screamed that Xue Tianye was the outsider.

Xue Tianye gave his order to the waiter separately.

Seeing Qin Liyi treat Xue Tianye like he didn't exist, Chi Xingcun got a bit angry. He texted Qin Liyi again: "If you keep this up, I won't bring you next time I hang out with my classmates."

Qin Liyi saw it and drew in a sharp breath. He immediately picked up his teacup, smiled at Xue Tianye across the table, and said, "Sorry, class monitor, I was in a bit of a bad mood earlier. Today's on me—order whatever you want to eat or do."

Chi Xingcun sighed in relief. At least Qin Liyi could read the room.

Xue Tianye smiled slightly, raised his cup, and clinked it with his: "No worries. Then I won't hold back."

"Of course, don't." Qin Liyi's smile took a lot of the edge off.

After finishing their meal, they walked out of the mall and unexpectedly ran into some classmates of Chi Xingcun and Xue Tianye.

Three hot guys just standing there—how could anyone miss them?

"Class monitor, what's the deal? Hanging out without inviting us?" A few of them laughed as they approached, feigning annoyance.

A bubbly girl from class walked up to Chi Xingcun: "What a coincidence, first time running into you on a Saturday. Wanna come with? We're gonna hit up a KTV."

Chi Xingcun didn't really want to go, but his classmates were so hyped they were practically begging him.

They were nothing like him—loud, outgoing, and full of energy. Chi Xingcun was a little drawn to them.

He couldn't say no to their enthusiasm, so Chi Xingcun got dragged along.

They'd seen Qin Liyi before—he'd come to class with Chi Xingcun—but they didn't really know him. Now they were walking next to him, making small talk.

"What's your relationship with Chi Xingcun?"

Qin Liyi's eyes were glued to the back of Chi Xingcun's head.

He stared at the two people holding onto Chi Xingcun's arms, his face darkening.

"We've known each other since we were kids." He answered the classmate beside him.

"Whoa, childhood friends." They didn't expect the two handsome guys to be childhood friends. They also knew Fu Chenzhan and Chi Xingcun were childhood friends too, so they lowered their voices and asked, "So do you know Fu Chenzhan?"

Qin Liyi turned and shot him a look, his eyes dark and cold: "I know him, but I don't wanna talk about him right now."

"Alright, alright, won't bring it up." The people around him could feel how intense Qin Liyi was.

How did Chi Xingcun end up with two such scary guys around him?

They all headed to the KTV together.

Qin Liyi had booked the KTV himself—the best VIP room in the city.

He was also the one who took charge of buying all the snacks and drinks.

The KTV was poppin'. Chi Xingcun and Qin Liyi were squeezed into a corner together, munching on snacks and watching everyone sing and play games.

Then a girl from class came over and pulled Chi Xingcun up: "Come on, sing with us! Don't just sit there—get in the action!"

Another classmate called out to Qin Liyi: "Young Master Qin, come sing! You dropped so much cash—nobody's gonna fight you for the mic."

The two of them were honestly terrible at singing.

But since their classmates basically shoved mics into their hands, they had no choice but to give it a go.

Chi Xingcun said to him, "Pick one."

Qin Liyi said, "I've never sung a single song at a place like this."

So Chi Xingcun picked the song they'd sung in the school-wide choir competition back in high school.

"The Name Engraved in My Heart."

Their version had been rearranged for the competition, but they'd also had to listen to the original for class, so they knew at least some of it.

Back then, during PE on the playground, Chi Xingcun remembered hearing Qin Liyi hum it.

The two of them held the mics, perched on tall spinning stools, singing their hearts out.

When they finished, everyone burst into applause and cheers.

    "Hell yeah! That was awesome!"

Chi Xingcun turned red, covering his face as he sank back into the couch.

He'd been way off-key, and Qin Liyi had straight-up forgotten the lyrics, just humming the whole time.

What a disaster of a performance.

"I'm gonna step out for a sec."

Qin Liyi suddenly said, then left the room. After closing the door, he headed straight to the front desk, paid up, and asked for the security footage.

The footage quality here was top-notch—just as good as a phone camera.

Once the video was sent over, he opened it on his phone and hit play.

The music was beautiful, but the two of them were totally out of sync.

But he thought the young master's voice was gorgeous—so gorgeous it was driving him crazy. Warm and soft, like whispering sweet nothings in his ear... no, wait, like saying goodnight to him.

    Like coaxing him to sleep.

He was in love with it.

As Qin Liyi listened, his cheeks burned hot. Then, to his shock, he realized he was *aroused*.

After a bunch of flustered, awkward fumbling, he finally made it back to the room.

The young master is sitting on the sofa, swaying his head to the music, ridiculously cute.

He sidled up and hugged the young master.

He was burning up with need right now, barely able to contain himself, itching to do something.

He really wanted to ask the young master if they should head back, but then he thought—the young master was always cooped up at home, so it was good for him to get out and blow off some steam.

Plus, the young master looked pretty happy.

"Um, Chi Xingcun, can I add you on WeChat? Everyone else has it, but I've never added you."

A grating voice cut in. He looked up to see a guy who looked beyond nervous standing in front of Chi Xingcun.

Qin Liyi was about to tell him to fuck off when Chi Xingcun said, "Yeah, sure."

After adding the contact, the guy ran off all happy.

Qin Liyi, pissed off, bit Chi Xingcun's ear.

Chi Xingcun jumped, covering his ear (it didn't really hurt), and asked, "What are you doing?"

Qin Liyi didn't answer. Instead, he threw himself into Chi Xingcun's arms and muttered, "I'm so pissed..."

It was midnight by the time the group finally left the KTV, and they waved goodbye by the roadside: "See you in a couple days!"

Chi Xingcun went out of his way to say goodnight to the class monitor, hoping tonight's awkward moment wouldn't affect his mood.

Xue Tianye seemed to see right through him and said with a smile, "Had a great time today. See you in class the day after tomorrow."

Hearing that, Chi Xingcun brightened, a smile tugging at his lips. "Mm!"

Qin Liyi wasted no time dragging Chi Xingcun into the car.

The moment the door shut, he climbed all over Chi Xingcun.

"A little drunk..." he said in a husky voice.

Chi Xingcun steadied him. "Just sleep when we get home."

Qin Liyi closed his eyes, savoring Chi Xingcun's uniquely soft warmth.

Once home, Qin Liyi was the first to dive into the bathroom.

Cold water poured from head to toe, yet it couldn't douse the sudden fire flaring up inside him.

The sound of the water masked his ragged breaths, his stifled groans, and muffled grunts.

He got off once, took a breather, but it still wasn't enough.

Why the hell was he so hot tonight?
