Chapter 14: Blue Mountain Psychiatric Hospital (Part 14)
byChapter 14: Lan Shan Psychiatric Hospital (Fourteen)
Second Floor Outpatient Department.
The initially closed door was forcibly slammed open, Qi Chanyang was violently coughing up blood, collapsing onto the floor.
Both of his legs were gone; Liu Hanyue stood at the doorway with a foot imprint on her face.
This had occurred moments ago, when Qi Chanyang sprinted past her, Liu Hanyue leisurely extended her hand again, attempting to utilize her old trick once more.
Qi Chanyang had recognized that this creature was not slow, but seemed to be toying with him as if taking a dog for a walk, treating him like a jest.
One should never underestimate a player who has cleared a horror game six times!
Summoning the last vestiges of his strength, Qi Chanyang accelerated drastically, landing a kick squarely on Liu Hanyue's face.
But that kick would also be the last.
Liu Hanyue's sharp claws gripped his ankle ferociously, swinging him around like a flail in a fit of rage, pounding him relentlessly onto the ground before hurling him violently against the door of the second-floor outpatient clinic.
This won't do...
Qi Chanyang could no longer perceive any pain.
He gazed at the unfamiliar ceiling of the outpatient clinic, his remaining eye darting around, almost reflexively gathering clues from his surroundings.
But it was futile now.
Qi Chanyang wanted to sigh, but his body felt like a deflating balloon.
Let it be... he had struggled for a long time already, he had been formidable.
The monster's face drew closer and closer, as Liu Hanyue shrieked in a piercing tone beside his ear.
"How dare you kick me! How dare you kick me!!"
What the hell was there to be afraid of doing?
If not for his lack of strength, Qi Chanyang even contemplated flipping her the bird.
Seeing his lack of reaction, Liu Hanyue, infuriated, extended her hand and viciously plunged it into his abdomen.
Even the body that couldn't feel pain couldn't help but convulse at this moment, as Qi Chanyang spurted out a mouthful of blood, splattering it directly onto Liu Hanyue's face.
"Aaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!"
Perhaps it was a fleeting resurgence of vitality, but at that moment, Qi Chanyang even managed to muster a smile.
"What are you smiling at?!"
Liu Hanyue raised her hand high.
Qi Chanyang relaxed his body and closed his eyes.
He thought to himself with a hint of self-mockery, he had told his friends before entering this mission that it was just a level one, meant to be relaxing, not difficult.
But unexpectedly, he, who had cleared a level two mission, would die at the hands of a level one NPC.
As expected, this game required teamwork; going solo just wouldn't cut it.
He hoped that the remaining eight newcomers would be able to unite and make good use of the items he had left behind—
"Huh?"
A familiar voice resonated at the doorway.
Everything before Qi Chanyang's eyes turned black.
He opened his eyes.
The player he had held high hopes for, the peculiar Jie Fangcheng, was standing at the doorway, tiptoeing to peek inside.
After making eye contact with Qi Chanyang, he expressed his astonishment, "Just a few minutes apart, and you're on the brink of death?"
Damn it!!!
Qi Chanyang suddenly spat out a large mouthful of blood.
Liu Hanyue slowly turned her head, her eyes fixed intently on the person behind her.
Qi Chanyang extended his trembling hand, grasping the NPC in front of him.
"Run..."
His voice was faint.
Liu Hanyue scoffed coldly, "No one is escaping!!"
With that, she swiftly extended her hand, her sharp nails glinting ominously in the cold light—
"Crash"!!!!!
Following the immense noise, Liu Hanyue was propelled like a baseball against the wall by a forceful swing of a stick.
Qi Chanyang hadn't even had the time to react, being held by Liu Hanyue's right hand, he too was dragged along, colliding softly but distinctly with the wall in a "clink" sound.
Qi Chanyang was hit so hard that he "spurted" out another mouthful of blood, before falling to the ground.
Seeing stars, he lay there in a daze, trying to make sense of the unfolding scene before him.
After Jie Fangcheng had swung that strike, the stick seemed to bend slightly.
It was only then that Qi Chanyang noticed the stick appeared to be constructed from six slightly thinner iron rods twisted together into one.
The craftsmanship was quite exceptional; it even seemed to have been polished to a shine, presenting a seamless unity.
Because the rod had bent from the strike, Xie Fangcheng extended his hand.
The solid rod obediently yielded in his grip, easily straightening out like a piece of rope.
"Aaaahhhhh!!!!!" Liu Hanyue screamed, lunging forward again.
Xie Fangcheng exclaimed in surprise: "She's not running away!!"
He lifted the rod and swung it down once more.
Another thunderous "clang" echoed.
Now, Qi Chanyang understood why he could feel the building shaking every now and then.
With this strike, Liu Hanyue was truly sent flying like a baseball, smashing directly into the wall and causing it to collapse with a loud crash.
Even the dumbest NPC would realize that victory was impossible against someone wielding a rod with such terrifying force!
Liu Hanyue crashed through the adjacent door and vanished out of sight, moving at a speed that seemed even faster than Qi Chanyang’s.
Xie Fangcheng hesitated for a moment before moving to Qi Chanyang's side first.
Qi Chanyang looked at him, tears welling up in his eyes.
Salvation! Who would want to die if they could live!
Xie Fangcheng squatted down, assessing his injuries first: "Looking at this, I'm not a professional, but it's clear you are beyond saving. Rest easy, huh. Don't worry, just mention my name down there, you'll be taken care of."
Having said that, Xie Fangcheng covered Qi Chanyang’s eyes gently, as if attending to someone who could not find peace in death.
But when he removed his hand, Qi Chanyang was still staring at him, his lips quivering as if trying to say something.
Xie Fangcheng leaned closer: "What did you say?"
A weak voice from Qi Chanyang reached him: "Room number nine..."
Xie Fangcheng immediately understood: "Oh, there's something in room number nine, isn't there?"
Qi Chanyang nodded, looking at him with hopeful eyes.
Xie Fangcheng once again placed his hand over Qi Chanyang's eyes, as if placating a child.
"Alright, I got it. I will head to the room after I send you off. You can rest now."
Yet, upon removing his hand once more, Qi Chanyang was still staring at him... no, this seemed more like glaring, his eyes filled with silent curses.
Xie Fangcheng frowned, leaning in again: "Do you have any last words?"
Qi Chanyang's lips trembled: "There's... medicine..."
"What do you need?" Xie Fangcheng asked.
"Medicine..."
"?? What?"
"Medicine!"
Xie Fangcheng said with resignation, "Can we not start rapping at a time like this?"
With a "puh", Qi Chanyang spat out another mouthful of blood.
Seeing Qi Chanyang's face, which seemed ready to explode in frustration, Xie Fangcheng finally exclaimed, "Oh!! There’s medicine in room nine? Why didn't you say so sooner?"
Qi Chanyang shut his eyes, refusing to even glance at him again, feeling as if half of his current injuries were from being beaten, and the other half from being infuriated.
"Hang in there." Saying this, Xie Fangcheng hurried to room number nine.
Clearly, there was a handbag placed on the bed by the door.
When Qi Chanyang had thrown the items inside, he had also considered Ge Juan who always had to clean the floor.
Xie Fangcheng grabbed the bag and sprinted towards the clinic, mumbling to himself as he ran.
"This kid, as sturdy as he looks, has quite a girlish heart, huh!"
"The bag is even pink!"
Once he reached Qi Chanyang, Xie Fangcheng started taking items out of the bag: "Which one is it? Hey??"
For Qi Chanyang to have held on for this long was already a testament to his willpower; by now, he had long since passed out.
He faintly felt a few slaps on his face, but his eyelids felt heavy, and it seemed like someone was grumbling beside him.
"…How am I supposed to administer the medicine with him unconscious? Is there a funnel or something…"
But finally, a familiar fluid filled with life force was poured into his mouth.
The medicine produced by the system eradicated the ailments.
Qi Chanyang's legs began to regenerate like sprouting seedlings, new flesh twisting and forming into new limbs.
His blinded eyes gradually repaired themselves, and the hole in his chest was plugged by newly grown flesh.
Slowly, Qi Chanyang opened his eyes.
In front of him, Xie Fangcheng was holding a bottle in one hand and a syringe in the other, staring at him as if he was witnessing a magical creature.
Seeing him awake, the man even flashed a smile.
"Hi~"
Qi Chanyang looked at him, roaring with utmost sincerity and genuine frustration, "You son of a—!!"
Aggro master no. 1 😂
Most unintentionally infuriating but funniest mc I’ve ever read. Qi Chanyang’s gonna die from high blood pressure than being killed by an NPC
