Chapter 97: Digital Cruise (Part 10)

    Three million points.

It was a delicate number; for the majority of the players capable of venturing into a level-five instance, possessing an item worth three million points was certainly feasible.

Like Ning Suisui, she could effortlessly pull out an item worth four million points from her backpack, a feat not at all uncommon among most veteran players.

However, handing over an item worth three million points isn't something to be done lightly and easily.

Especially before the universal dungeon event, this is an item they are reluctant to part with.

After Jie Fangcheng finished speaking, the bearded man paused momentarily, his initial thought being "this is a person from Ronghua."

People from Ronghua, a few flattering words should soften them up, right?

Particularly seeing how relaxed this person before him was, managing to drive the NPC away with such ease, why did he insist on taking his points? Wasn't this too far removed from Ronghua's original principles?

The bearded man hastily spoke up: "Big brother, I have always admired Ronghua. I even went on raids with our guild's Sister Shuangshuang. You see..."

"Not giving?" Jie Fangcheng cut him off.

The bearded man wanted to add something, mumbling nervously.

Call the NPC back? Not to mention not knowing where the NPC had flown off to, people from Ronghua couldn't be this heartless.

Jie Fangcheng already discerned his response, thus he gestured with a wave.

    "Bring him in."

At a distance, the NPC who had been smacked with a stick was now tied up, a cloth stuffed in its mouth, writhing frantically.

Nie Shuangshuang and Wei Yuan, one on each side, escorted the individual up like they were bringing in a criminal.

Though their strengths had severely diminished, handling a regular NPC, who had been struck by Jie Fangcheng, was more than manageable.

Especially with this much backup, the substantial augmentation to everyone's strength from the inheritance of Gu Zailai, the player ranked fourteenth on the leaderboard, combined with the NPC's sole focus on escaping, resulted in an overwhelming advantage.

While escorting, Nie Shuangshuang asked, "Is this one enough? You've beaten him to the point where even I can hardly defeat him now."

Jie Fangcheng waved dismissively, "No worries, if this isn't enough, we'll just catch another one."

    The bearded man: "..."

Seeing Jie Fangcheng, the NPC's struggles intensified.

Jie Fangcheng snapped his fingers in a cool manner, "Come on!"

The rope binding the NPC was also an item looted from Gu Zailai. Now, as Nie Shuangshuang released it, the NPC's first reaction wasn't to attack the bearded man but to turn and flee, only to be caught again by Nie Shuangshuang instantly.

She wore a frustrated expression: "Look at the state you've beaten him into!"

Jie Fangcheng pondered, "Next time I won't hit as hard, at least not until after the debt is collected."

The NPC's struggles became even more violent.

Jie Fangcheng tip-toed to get a better view, "This one isn't cooperating, huh. Should I go catch another?"

From the moment Wei Yuan and the others appeared, the bearded man had been in a daze. Now, observing their actions and then looking back at Jie Fangcheng...

Jie Fangcheng's eyes brightened, having spotted the target.

"Hmm? That one looks pretty good."

The bearded man turned his head, just as an NPC, who looked like a supervisor, was passing by in the corridor. The NPC paused upon seeing the scene, first noticing his subordinate who had been abducted.

He took two steps forward, but upon meeting Jie Fangcheng's expectant gaze, he instantly retreated two steps, consumed by a wave of fear.

Jie Fangcheng had already tucked away the stick he held, preparing to charge over with bare hands, clearly not jesting.

When it came to the priority between an item worth three million points and his own life, the bearded man had a clear understanding.

He hurriedly stopped the charging Jie Fangcheng: "An item worth three million points, right? I'll give it, I'll give it!"

Jie Fangcheng glanced at him: "The price has gone up, four million."

    Damn it!

    The bearded man was startled.

    "Thi... this..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Nie Shuangshuang from the side already started yelling: "Why are you so stingy? Only adding a hundred thousand? You should at least double it!"

    "Oh, right!" Jie Fangcheng realized.

The bearded man was truly scared now, immediately changing his offer: "Four million, right? I'll give it, I'll give it!"

Without further ado, he pulled a hairpin from his bag, intending to hand it over to Jie Fangcheng.

Just as he was about to hand it over, "Yan Xiaotong", who had been watching the drama unfold, suddenly seized the bearded man's wrist.

    "Wait a moment."

She turned to Jie Fangcheng: "Did you come here to retrieve items? Will you also assist at twelve o'clock?"

    Jie Fangcheng nodded: "Yes."

"Yan Xiaotong" gazed at him, then suddenly broke into a graceful smile: "Then, is there a possibility of us collaborating?"

    "Huh?"

"Look, if we collaborate, with Mr. Jie's combat power, we can search for clues on this ship without any worries and clear the dungeon. In return, we are willing to offer a suitable compensation, saving you the hassle of tying up NPCs and negotiating." As she spoke, "Yan Xiaotong" directly pulled out a bracelet emitting a soft white glow from her backpack.

Someone recognized the bracelet and exclaimed in shock.

    "The Archangel's Blessing?!"

"Yan Xiaotong" smiled as she placed the bracelet into Jie Fangcheng's hand: "Consider this a token of my sincerity."

Jie Fangcheng cast a downward glance.

    [Item: Archangel's Blessing - Rare]

[Description: O omnipotent Lord, as your most faithful devotee, are you willing to heed my prayers and bestow upon me your blessings?]

[Hint: The Archangel's blessing, perhaps it might win the Lord's compassion when offered with sufficient sincerity?]

[Effect: Increases all basic attributes by 50.]

[Unique Property: Takes effect immediately upon wearing.]

If the [Poseidon's Trident] that Ning Suisui had given away was a famous item on the leaderboard several years ago, its value has diminished considerably by now. In contrast, the [Archangel's Blessing] has consistently secured a spot within the top thirty of the item charts since its debut.

A fifty-point increase in all attributes might sound trivial at first.

The real power lies in its "Takes effect immediately upon wearing" feature.

The majority of items require activation to take effect, and although the game doesn't specify, players have long figured out that no more than three items can be used at a time.

Just like Nie Shuangshuang, if she wished, she could wield the [Fire Control Fan] in her left hand, hold the [Phoenix Feather] in her right, and even clench her large cleaver in her mouth, achieving a three-sword style feat.

Whether or not these items could fully manifest their powers, however, was another matter.

Yet, the [Archangel's Blessing] does not require activation; it takes effect upon wearing, making it a rarity among rarities, suitable for everyone to use.

If placed in an auction, the starting bid would be at least one billion.

After examining it, Jie Fangcheng couldn't help but exclaim, "What a treasure!"

He might not grasp the extent of its worth, but he understood the significance of the "+50."

With an additional fifty points to speed, he felt he could at least catch up to some slower NPCs!

All eyes were greedily fixed on the luminous bracelet, yet under their watchful gazes, Jie Fangcheng returned the item to "Yan Xiaotong's" hand.

"Yan Xiaotong" was taken aback, "What do you mean?"

Jie Fangcheng shook his head, "I think we should pass on this collaboration."

"Yan Xiaotong's" brows furrowed, but quickly relaxed again, "You might not fully appreciate the value of this bracelet."

Saying this, she lifted her gaze towards the space behind Jie Fangcheng.

Among the Ronghua members standing not far away, Wei Yuan and Nie Shuangshuang were at the forefront, yet they clearly were not the core of the team.

"Yan Xiaotong" graced Zhang Dao'an with another captivating smile.

"I believe we can still negotiate, right? If it is because you were offended by Ning Suisui's previous schemes, I am here to offer apologies on behalf of everyone. That was not our intention, it was truly a last resort."

Zhang Dao'an eyed her, "Is your target the ocean treasure?"

    "Yes."

"That is our goal as well."

"Yan Xiaotong" smiled, "There's nothing to it. I simply want to ensure the safety of our people while we search for clues. When it comes to the ownership of the treasure, we can each take what we need when the time comes to compete, sounds good, doesn't it?"

    Zhang Dao'an also smiled.

    "Sounds quite tempting, doesn't it?"

"It's not just about sounding tempting! If we can collaborate, I believe, given our combined strengths, we can sweep through this entire instance effortlessly, securing the treasure for ourselves. Even when it comes to splitting the treasure later, we can negotiate amicably, can't we?"

"Hmm, you present a very reasonable argument," Zhang Dao'an observed her, "but there's one issue."

    "What?"

"Considering Mr. Jie, standing before you, already possesses the power to sweep through the instance alone, why would he need to negotiate with you guys when it's time to divide the spoils?"

The smile on "Yan Xiaotong's" face froze, "You mean, there's absolutely no chance for collaboration?"

This time, without waiting for Zhang Dao'an's response, Jie Fangcheng directly shook his head in denial, "No chance."

He looked at the young lady in front of him, "I don't like collaborating with people who scheme against me."

Having said that, he turned his head towards the bearded man, "Hand over the item. It's inappropriate to have the NPC bound for so long, isn't it?"

The bearded man hesitated, casting a glance at "Yan Xiaotong". Seeing her calm expression and no reaction, he reluctantly pulled out the hairpin from his bag.

Upon receiving the hairpin, Jie Fangcheng's eyes lit up.

    "What a wonderful item!"

This caused the bearded man to take another look, confirming that what he had handed over was an item worth around four million, not forty million.

    [Item: Little Mushroom Picker's Hairpin]

[Description: The little mushroom picker, carrying a large bamboo basket, roams the forests and hills barefooted early in the morning.]①

[Hint: Since it's the Little Mushroom Picker's Hairpin, it exerts its greatest effect when the user is barefooted, you know!]

    [Effect: Increases speed by 30~60.]

Jie Fangcheng promptly clipped it onto his head.

His current attire was rather peculiar, wearing a magical robe, shouldering a stick, donning a white rabbit-carrot headband, and now affixing a mushroom-shaped plastic child's hairpin to his hair; a bizarre blend of cosplay, violence, girlishness, and childishness all in one.

Nie Shuangshuang stared, her eyes going wide: "What on earth have you adorned yourself with now?"

Jie Fangcheng approached with a delighted demeanor. Having already collected the score item, he swung his stick upon arriving, ruthlessly sending the NPC flying into the sea. The smooth yet violent action caused a few members of the Ronghua guild who were close to him to involuntarily take a step back.

"Look!" Jie Fangcheng removed the hairpin to show her.

Nie Shuangshuang took it and glanced at it, her expression somewhat hard to describe with words.

"You can bear to wear something this ugly?"

"Ugly?" Jie Fangcheng was puzzled, "The color is quite vibrant though."

Scarlet red! How could it not be vibrant?

During their conversation, Jie Fangcheng retrieved the hairpin and with a “snap”, secured it back onto his head.

He then tried running a bit after putting it on.

"Huh? Why do I feel like it didn't increase my speed by much?"

"Read the hint! It only works if you take off your shoes."

After saying this, Nie Shuangshuang paused for a moment, then frowned at the thought of having to remove her shoes every time before a battle, while others grandiosely draw their weapons, like the "Poseidon's Trident", "Giant's Floral Wreath", or "Judgement Battleaxe".

On her end, she'd be the first one to remove her shoes.

Jie Fangcheng actually lowered his head to inspect his shoes.

He was still wearing the sneakers he had on when he arrived, a pair of lace-up athletic shoes.

"These aren't easy to remove either," he muttered.

With that, Jie Fangcheng looked at Nie Shuangshuang.

Nie Shuangshuang was stunned for a moment but quickly caught onto his intentions, subsequently flying into a rage.

"Come on! What now? You plan to snatch another pair of shoes from me???"

Despite her words, Nie Shuangshuang's hand skillfully moved to her wrist, searching for any shoes that would be easy to take off.

At this moment, Zhang Dao'an handed a pair of flip-flops to Jie Fangcheng who was standing before him.

Jie Fangcheng was taken aback, but quickly accepted them.

    "Oh wow, nice!"

Surprisingly, the flip-flops Zhang Dao'an handed over were actually a system-produced item, "The Landlord's Flip-Flops", whose unique property was "Seems Easy to Clean When Worn".

Jie Fangcheng immediately wanted to put them on.

Just then, the clock struck twelve.

    Dong——Dong——

In the dark and damp pool, two octopuses that were initially closing their eyes gradually opened them.

They slithered up from the water, rising to their feet and ascending to the first deck via the stairs.

As they moved upward, the tentacles on their bodies retracted inward. Gradually, the two initially grotesque and nauseating marine creatures transformed into two "bodyguards" dressed in suits and wearing sunglasses.

One of the "bodyguards" let out a loud burp, which was quickly silenced by the other.

"Be careful! Don't let anyone discover us!"

    "I know, I know."

Saying this, they opened the door to a storeroom, through numerous rooms, their gaze firmly fixed on a group of people in the distance.

    The bearded man paused momentarily.

"I received a system notification! It informed me... that because I failed to pay the ship fare, I will be expelled from the ship! Countdown... 12 hours."

After saying that, he turned his attention directly to Jie Fangcheng.

Jie Fangcheng nodded, very succinctly: "Three million."

"..." The bearded man was truly on the verge of tears, "Bro, I'm really poor and I don't have many items now. To give three million points worth of items daily, I don't have that exact amount!"

"Then get a package deal, just pay twenty-seven million at once." Jie Fangcheng said generously.

Twenty-seven million! Rounded up, that's practically thirty million!

While he hesitated, someone else quickly responded, "I don't have a single point now, no food, no drink, and I don't know where I'll sleep tonight. Can I purchase such a package deal?"

Initially intending to ensure that these players could survive, Jie Fangcheng agreed readily.

    "Twenty million."

The one who asked this question clearly had some savings, hastily pulling out three or four items.

After receiving and glancing at them, noticing none were speed-boosting items, Jie Fangcheng directly tossed them to Nie Shuangshuang at his side.

The player who paid for the package gleefully attempted to join the group of wealthy individuals, receiving a glance from Zhang Dao'an.

"We only guarantee your safety for this round of expulsions from the ship, along with your meals and accommodation. We're not responsible for other times."

The approaching player paused for a moment, then dutifully produced two more items.

"Can I also purchase a follower spot? I'm very sensible, won't ask or say what I shouldn't, I'll assist in fights, withdraw during your conversations, but if I encounter danger, I hope Brother Jie can help me. I'll give items after being rescued."

His attitude was so good that even Zhang Dao'an didn't have any objections.

Instead, Jie Fangcheng turned to glance at Zhang Dao'an.

Hence, when the next cooperative player came to pay with items, without saying a word, Jie Fangcheng directly handed them to Zhang Dao'an.

Zhang Dao'an took the items, his expression indifferent: "What others have, I have too. Quite nice."

It was hard to pinpoint the exact tone; it wasn't exactly sarcastic, just a bit odd.

Jie Fangcheng couldn't help but cast another glance at him.

But those who boldly paid for the package on the spot were the minority. For most people, seeing the affluent group triggered the first response, "We're saved".

But why were these affluent folks collecting money this time?

"Old Wei!" Someone couldn't help but call out to Wei Yuan, "It's me! We teamed up for a dungeon run before, remember? We even added each other as friends afterward. Look, could you perhaps make an exception for me?"

This player trying to appeal to acquaintances immediately sparked inspiration among the others. In an instant, the seven players surrounding "Yan Xiaotong" began frantically searching to see if they had any friends on the opposite side.

Back when the affluent group was powerful, they were all considered close friends and confidants, frequently visiting the affluent group's building to chat and have tea with their close buddies.

But since the members of the affluent group had a significant drop in power, countless people surreptitiously cleared their friend lists, fearing being bothered by these “lower-level players”.

At this moment, quite a number of people were straining to recognize if there were any former "friends" on the opposite side.

"Xiao Yuan, do you remember when we teamed up for a level-three dungeon? I even helped you back then!"

"Shuangshuang sister! Don't you remember we had dinner together at the restaurant?"

"President Wei, we almost collaborated on a level-five dungeon before. Back when President Zhang was around, I was even friends with him!"

Not knowing who it was, but probably after looking around and finding no acquaintances, someone shamelessly shouted, "Brother Jie, I've long admired your reputation!" trying to bluff their way through.

Jie Fangcheng remained unmoved, simply raising both hands to gesture a stop.

"Alright, enough with the name-dropping, it's useless."

Seeing that there seemed to be some doubters, Jie Fangcheng got straight to the point: "Shuangshuang, are you close to that girl opposite?"

"Ah..." Nie Shuangshuang hesitated for a moment, but eventually nodded, "Yes."

Jie Fangcheng pointed directly with his stick: "Then I'll kill her right now to demonstrate my resolve."

Everyone on both sides instantly fell silent, even "Yan Xiaotong" turned pale: "Bro, you wouldn't really do that, would you?"

Jie Fangcheng calmly stated, "What's the big deal? It's just a minor effort."

    A minor effort!!!

As expected, "Yan Xiaotong" had a good relationship with Nie Shuangshuang, exhibiting the same fiery temper, immediately grabbing her weapon.

    Her companions immediately restrained her.

"Don't stop me! I'm going to fight him!!!"

"Alright, alright, stop making a scene, you won't win anyway." Her companions tried to persuade her.

Jie Fangcheng gave her a single glance: "Dare to step forward, and I will kill you."

His statement was delivered in a remarkably calm tone, not at all jesting. Even Nie Shuangshuang felt that he was genuinely ready to act.

His tone also subdued the individuals on the opposite side.

Shortly after, three more people stood up, swiftly handing over their items.

Jie Fangcheng couldn't even be bothered to collect them himself, delegating the task to Zhang Dao'an directly.

Zhang Dao'an didn't refuse, accepting the items without even looking at them, and promptly passed them to Nie Shuangshuang.

    Only four individuals remained.

Among them was Han Yan, who had tried to connect with Wei Yuan earlier. The Vice-President of the Rainforest Guild, ranked forty-fifth on the points leaderboard, was initially the leader of this gaming expedition.

However, despite his calculations, he hadn't expected that intending to sacrifice a mere pawn from his team would provoke a revolt from his previously obedient subordinates.

    "You've always only considered yourself!"

Accused in this manner, those individuals boldly united to overpower him, forcing him to surrender his points.

Left with no choice, Han Yan relinquished all his points, transforming into a "solo player".

After expelling him from the team, his former subordinates didn't pursue to annihilate him, yet Han Yan had already resolved that once he exited the instance, he would swiftly exact his revenge upon these bastards.

Although he mistreated his subordinates, he exhibited considerable humility towards stronger players.

Indeed, he had joined Wei Yuan for dungeon runs before, back when Wei Yuan was ranked fifty-seventh on the leaderboard as "Giant Rock" Wei Yuan.

Despite the subsequent downfall of the affluent group and Wei Yuan's decrease in power rank, Han Yan knew how to maintain relationships, having invited Wei Yuan at least twice, offering to guide him through dungeons.

He had decided that a standard member of the affluent class like Wei Yuan would not be willing to be a burden.

Of course, even if he did come, it wouldn't matter; they could simply ignore him once inside the instance.

Wei Yuan remembered people well, but at this moment, he could only shake his head helplessly.

"This isn't something I can decide."

Han Yan asked anxiously, "You're the president, can't you make the decision?"

To outsiders, Wei Yuan might seem like the "President of the Affluent Group", but those within the group understood that the president role seemed more like a nominal position to them.

Everyone knew that the "President" hadn't changed, it was still Zhang Daowu. The person who inherited the title was merely clinging to his memory, reminiscing about the former glory of the group.

    Wei Yuan remained silent.

But deep inside, Han Yan still harbored a flicker of hope.

He was well aware that the people in Ronghua were a group easily exploited due to their tender hearts. Even if Xie Fangcheng was ruthless and cold-blooded, now that he had joined Ronghua, he wouldn't completely disregard the feelings of the other players, would he?

At this moment, at the end of the corridor, two NPCs dressed in suits and wearing sunglasses steadily approached.

They first noticed Xie Fangcheng, and without hesitation, both NPCs stepped back in sync.

Xie Fangcheng hastily waved at them, "No worries, no worries. You're here on a mission, aren't you? Come, come."

The NPCs exchanged glances, cautiously advancing towards him.

With a swift motion of his hand, Xie Fangcheng directed, "Don't touch these few, but feel free to deal with those others."

The NPCs were practically indistinguishable from real hired thugs under his control. Following his orders to the letter, they slithered along the wall, first turning their attention to the four players beside "Yan Xiaotong".

These players could have afforded to hand over the item, yet everyone harbors a glimmer of hope.

What if these eviction-enforcing NPCs were not that strong? What if they could be defeated? What if the Golden Leopard Squad's Yan Xiaotong and their group decided to lend a hand? What if... the people of Ronghua hadn't changed and were still the naïve helpers they once were?

The moment these two NPCs appeared, some people immediately turned to face Xie Fangcheng.

"I'll give the item! I'll give the item!"

These were the same two NPCs that appeared in the hall this morning. Though Xie Fangcheng had easily handled them then, their reappearance now sent a shock of alarm through many players with early-warning skills.

They were clearly on the level of mini-bosses, utterly unbeatable!

Even "Yan Xiaotong" wore a heavy expression, leading her squad aside, clearly having no intention of assisting them anymore.

The player willing to hand over the item was the first to face these two NPCs, and without waiting for Xie Fangcheng to say anything more, he quickly quoted a substantial offer: "I have a package worth thirty million!"

    "Alright then."

The two NPCs couldn't grasp their conversation but were already rushing towards the player to seize him. The player quickly retreated to Xie Fangcheng's side, adeptly taking an item from his bag and thrusting it into Nie Shuangshuang's hand.

He had clearly noticed that passing the item directly to Nie Shuangshuang was more efficient than giving it to the bespectacled one first, skipping an unnecessary step.

The bespectacled person merely glanced at him without a word.

The NPCs halted, no longer daring to pursue. They cast longing glances at the tempting live targets behind Xie Fangcheng, before turning back around.

"Damn it! You people from Ronghua are just going to stand there and watch us die??" Among the remaining three players, one couldn't help but burst out in curse, "You talk about a 'community of shared future for mankind'? You could clearly save us but just watch us die? And take advantage of our plight by demanding such expensive items? Don't you feel any shame at all?"

As he spoke, an NPC extended its hand.

This player had some skills, dodging at an impressively quick pace, trying to "awaken" the Ronghua group as he evaded.

"You weren't like this when your president was around! He worked tirelessly to make Ronghua the moon in so many players' hearts. Are you going to let Ronghua fall into ruin like this? President Wei, can you face your past president, Zhang Dawu? Can you face the members of Ronghua who sacrificed so much in the past?"

    No one responded.

    "President Wei!! Ahhh!!!"

The NPC's hand pierced directly through the player's chest, firmly gripping him in place.

"Guest, one ought to voluntarily disembark if they refuse to pay the ship fare, shouldn't they?"

The player pinned down by the NPC was pale as death. At this moment, his resentment was not directed at the one who thrust their hand through his chest, but fixed intently on Wei Yuan and the others standing before him.

"You are truly a bunch of hypocrites! How mistaken I was to place my trust in Ronghua!"

Han Yan, who was behind him, suddenly made a move, cleaving the man in two with a single stroke.

"Damn it, Ronghua doesn't owe you anything! Why should they help someone they have no relation with?!"

The two NPCs, each grabbing half of the corpse, first focused on the fresh flesh and blood in their hands, then shifted their gaze to Han Yan.

In haste, Han Yan rushed towards the side of Ronghua.

"Brother Wei, what is our relationship? If you need any items, we can negotiate, you see the current situation..."

    His stride abruptly halted.

Xie Fangcheng was standing at the corridor side, extending the staff in his hand to block Han Yan's path.

"Fifty million package," Xie Fangcheng stated succinctly.

    Damn! Fifty million!

Han Yan turned his attention back to Wei Yuan: "Brother Wei, you surely won't just watch me die, right? What history do we have?"

A flicker of hesitation crossed Wei Yuan's face.

The NPCs were nearing, yet hesitated due to Xie Fangcheng standing at the side, stopping two steps away and observing them.

Seeing Wei Yuan's expression, Han Yan's confidence surged back.

But before he could say anything, Zhang Daoan gave him a sidelong glance: "Your 'Brother Wei' is currently short of fifty million worth of items, don't just pay lip service."

    Han Yan was momentarily stunned.

Xie Fangcheng looked at him, then suddenly shook his head.

    "Let's forget about this one."

Having said that, he retracted his staff, signaling to the NPCs behind Han Yan.

    "Take him away."

The NPCs hesitated for a moment, then swiftly closed in.

Han Yan hurled abusive language vehemently as he faced his impending death.

"What kind of 'Ronghua' is this? Are you people even worthy of bearing the name of Ronghua? Colluding disgracefully with NPCs, aren't you?"

    Silence.

No one ever thought that Ronghua would turn into this, not even the members of Ronghua who followed to the next chapter could have foreseen this.

The corridor was stained with two large pools of fresh blood, remnants of two once living players.

On the other side, the NPCs had vanished, pursuing the lone remaining player who had fled.

"Yan Xiaotong" and the others stood behind the two large pools of blood, gazing at about twenty people on the opposite side, their expressions filled with sorrow.

    Ronghua... truly is no more.

At this moment, Zhang Daoan turned his head, looking at the Ronghua members who had finally come to a realization.

"Is there anyone who wishes to leave?" he asked.

It’s sad but I get why.
Ronghua guild members are now treated with a “Damned if you do, damned if you don’t” attitude and are taken for granted. They keep giving till their last breath and are still mocked at the end.
Better to take this path for all of the member’s sake

They helped when they were strong but when they really needed help in turn, what happened to all the people they helped? They just treated them like trash

    Note
