Chapter Fourteen: This is My Wife
byChapter Fourteen: This is My Wife
A tall man with long legs, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, stood behind Yun Zi'an. He had shoulder-length hair cut evenly, shining like flowing gold, and his eyes were emerald green, reminiscent of the finest jade. He wore a carved, openwork monocle on his nose and frowned deeply, "What's wrong?"
"Yan Si?" Yun Zi'an's eyes were filled with shock, clearly not expecting to see the man in such a situation, "What are you doing here?"
The man addressed as Yan Si chuckled softly, flicking the designer label on his suit's chest, "See? I'm a doctor."
His personality was a bit reckless and he always liked to act alone. It was only now that his bodyguard and assistant hurriedly caught up, "President Yan, President Yan..."
Yan Si's emerald eyes casually swept over the situation at hand, and understanding it immediately, he lit a cigarette with a click and commanded, "Seal off the scene, don't let anyone out."
The bodyguards immediately responded, "Yes!"
.
Amidst disgruntled cursing and the screams of actresses, the well-trained bodyguards quickly sealed all exits. With extendable batons in hand, they were ready to resort to force if anyone dared to break through.
Yan Si's slender fingers held a cigarette as he strode towards Ran Shan, examining her from head to toe as if she were an imperfectly crafted human specimen. "This lady..."
The girlfriends beside Ran Shan frantically shook her, almost out of breath, "This is President Yan... is... is..."
Anyone paying even a little attention to the world of wealth could discern a hint of opulence and luxury from the mere mention of the name "Yan."
Under the focused and exclusive gaze of Yan Si, Ran Shan almost saw the next Golden Horse Award beckoning her. She quickly adjusted her hair by her temples and revealed a gentle and graceful smile, "President Yan..."
"Your foot..." Yan Si knelt on one knee in front of her, observing her swollen ankle for a few minutes, "It seems to be dislocated."
"Yes... yes..." Mentioning the injury on her ankle, Ran Shan's smile seemed a bit less confident, "I'll call a doctor right now..."
"I am a doctor." Yan Si flicked the gold-embossed badge on his chest reading "Private Doctor," "Dr. from Johns Hopkins Medicine."
Ran Shan's eyes widened involuntarily, never having imagined she would receive such "personal" attention from Yan Si. Overwhelmed with joy, she struggled to control her expression, but the thick foundation made her smile seem unnaturally etched on her face.
"Then..." Ran Shan covered her chest with her hands, looking shyly at Yan Si, "I'll be in your care, President Yan."
"It's nothing." Yan Si smiled, then put on medical gloves handed to him by his assistant, spraying disinfectant alcohol on his palms. The way he disinfected made Ran Shan seem like some kind of super pathogen.
This made Ran Shan's smile on her face stiffen and turn awkward.
.
"Aren't you here for the news?" Yan Si looked towards the media reporters with their cameras, "Make sure to capture this well."
The media hesitated for a few seconds, but immediately a bodyguard turned on the camera and ordered, "Shoot!"
It wasn't until then that Ran Shan realized something was amiss and tried to pull away. "Well... President Yan... I don't want to bother you with such a minor injury..."
Unexpectedly, Yan Si grabbed her swollen, painful ankle with a cold laugh, the thin light reflecting off his glasses, "It's too late."
The grip on her injured spot made Ran Shan want to scream out in pain, but considering the public setting with cameras rolling, especially in front of Yan Si, she had to endure, even if it felt like a piece of flesh was being gouged out.
Yan Si held her ankle, leisurely rotating it several times. With each turn, the joint made a grinding sound. Ran Shan's body shook violently, her lower lip bitten hard enough to wound, tears of immense pain swirling in her eyes, but she had to suppress them from falling.
After tormenting her for a long stretch of ten minutes, Yan Si finally showed some mercy to the ignorant little actress. With a snap, he briskly and efficiently reset her dislocated ankle.
Ran Shan collapsed as if drained of strength, her forehead covered in cold sweat from pain, gasping frantically.
.
"All done." Yan Si stood up, removing his medical gloves, and pulled a silk handkerchief from his chest to wipe his hands and fingers. "Avoid water, don't walk on it, rest for a few days, and it's best to apply heat before using a cold compress."
He smiled at Ran Shan, "How about it? I've helped you so much, aren't you going to thank me?"
In front of Yan Si, Ran Shan's arrogance had completely extinguished, trembling like a handful of cold ashes about to be scattered, "Thank... Thank you, President Yan."
"You're welcome." Yan Si's eyes squinted like a fox when he smiled, looking quite cunning, "I'm always happy to help."
The drama finally ended with Ran Shan's embarrassing departure. The onlookers seemed to understand something, their glances at Yun Zi'an complex and indescribable, as if the fact that this third-rate beauty had a wealthy backer had become an unspoken truth.
Leaving the corridor where the incident occurred, Yun Zi'an finally found the chance to question Yan Si, "Why did you..."
"I missed you, baby." Yan Si's tone was still teasing and irreverent, rubbing the bloodstain on Yun Zi'an's mouth corner with his cigarette-holding fingers, "What happened here?"
Yun Zi'an pulled his right hand from his trouser pocket, the nail of his index finger, white as jade, broken in the middle, the wound still bleeding profusely, "The blood on my finger, I secretly wiped it on my lips."
"You're really hurt?" Yan Si was momentarily stunned, swiftly grabbing Yun Zi'an's right wrist, "Don't move, let me handle..."
Before he could finish saying "handle," a flurry of footsteps approached rapidly, like urgent war drums. The next second, someone grabbed Yan Si's wrist from behind, yanking it hard—
A cool, deep voice interjected, "Sorry, but it seems that's my spouse."
.
Behind Yan Si stood Rong Xiao, towering at 1.92 meters, his robust physique imposing. His face was dark, and his grey-black eyes were like swirling storm clouds, brewing unknown emotions.
"Oh?" Yan Si, upon seeing Rong Xiao, not only showed no fear but also smirked with amusement, "Your spouse?"
He turned and gave Yun Zi'an a deep look, took a puff of his cigarette, and blew the thick white smoke into Rong Xiao's face. Despite his aristocratic demeanor, he was as provocative as a street thug, his mouth curling slightly, "Then you know..."
"...how sweetly he moans in bed?"
