Cao Kun and Ming Jing also heard the alarm blaring. The three of them grabbed their weapons, locked the door, and just as they stepped out, they encountered a zombie tearing into someone less than two hundred meters away.

A fire ignited on the zombie's body. Shenchi’s face was grim; a Level Two zombie had already infiltrated the safety zone's third ring, indicating that the situation ahead was far from ideal.

As Shenchi and his companions headed toward the city gate, they slashed through the high-level zombies flying towards them along the way.

The aerial firepower was being drawn away by the high-level zombies, while the zombies below formed a ball. The rockets only managed to explode the outermost layer of zombies.

Outside the city gate, hundreds of thousands of zombies densely surrounded the safety zone. Level Three zombies, protected by lower-level zombies, were ramming the city walls, with the deafening sound of artillery echoing.

On the other side, a dozen psychics were struggling to deal with a rapidly dodging Level Four zombie!

Despite its stiff limbs and slower reactions compared to humans, it moved incredibly fast, disappearing from one spot and reappearing behind its target, instantly tearing the person in half with a swipe!

A psychic with earth abilities shouted, causing the ground beneath the Level Four zombie to collapse. As it tried to flee, an ice wall blocked its path. Flames, water dragons, bullets, and sharp objects closed in from all directions.

The highest level present was merely Level Three. Even with a dozen people working together, they couldn’t defeat it easily.

Elsewhere, a man covered in armor held onto a much larger Level Three zombie with one hand and twisted off its head with the other.

The zombie ceased struggling, and the armored man used his finger to pierce its forehead, extracting the crystal core and tossing it to a nearby man who was killing zombies. Then, he sprinted towards the Level Four zombie.

Before he could reach it, a sudden cry from Xiao Wang echoed, followed by the thunderous sound of collapse.

The armored man turned to see a ten-meter-tall zombie, its muscles bulging and its face marked by a deep scar, smashing through the city wall. It stepped on a tank firing at it, crushing it to pieces!

Xiao Wang and others immediately redirected their gunfire at the giant, but it dodged, causing the artillery to blast holes in the wall. The horde of zombies surged into the city, quickly engulfing the nearest team.

The armored man roared and charged at the giant. His metal armor, which had perfectly protected him, began to crack and break under the strain of his expanding muscles. In moments, he transformed from a normal 1.8-meter-tall man into a twelve-meter-tall giant!

Seeing their leader charge forward, Xiao Wang ordered a halt to the attack on the scar-faced giant, redirecting efforts to the other zombies flooding into the city. He also assigned several snipers to assist their leader.

A transport vehicle slowly lifted a massive axe, which the giant grabbed as it passed.

The giant, now free of armor, revealed its true identity. If Ming Jing were here, he would recognize this as the old man who loved teasing children to tears.

The old man, with his half-gray hair and wearing only boxers, displayed a muscular physique.

The axe struck the scar-faced giant’s hand, producing a sound vastly different from cutting flesh.

Yueyang Red then kicked the giant, causing it to take a step back before reaching out to grab his leg. Yueyang Red pulled his leg back and side-kicked, but the giant reacted swiftly, pursuing him.

After a few exchanges, Yueyang Red realized he was no match for the giant.

Distracted by the chaos around him, Yueyang Red saw zombies breaking into civilian homes. An elderly woman wielding a kitchen knife rushed in, her screams drowning out the sounds of gunfire.

All the warriors within the safety zone were fighting, but the number of high-level zombies was overwhelming. They had only a dozen Level Three psychics, many of whom were occupied with the Level Four zombies. Many lay fallen, and those remaining were nearly depleted of their powers.

With nearly eight hundred thousand zombies, outnumbering the safety zone’s population by more than double, this wave had escalated to Level Five. Their defeat was inevitable!

Yueyang Red was kicked away, crashing through several power poles before hitting the ground hard.

Xiao Wang, always watching his leader, immediately ran over upon seeing him injured!

"Xiao Wang!"

Yueyang Red shouted, wiping his mouth and standing up, "Pass the order: initiate the emergency plan and evacuate all residents of the safety zone!"

Xiao Wang’s eyes hardened, "Yes!"

As the order was given, garage doors opened, and hundreds of vehicles ready for action set out. Military personnel organized the urgent evacuation. The side gate built into the mountain opened, with tanks and armored vehicles leading the way. Buses, passenger cars, and trucks filed in, while the main gate slowly opened, allowing the horde outside to flood in!

Yueyang Red led the scar-faced giant towards the side gate, while Xiao Wang stood on an armored vehicle, urging his leader to transform back and leave with the troops. However, Yueyang Red ignored him.

Meanwhile, a massive explosion erupted near the Level Four zombie, sending several figures flying. Yueyang Red skidded to a stop, catching someone flying straight towards the giant’s mouth. With his left hand, he grabbed the person, dodging the zombie’s grasp, and looked down, his expression changing, "You’re about to give birth! Why are you still here?!"

Shenchi, clutching his stomach, bit his lower lip hard, unable to hear what was being said.

Cao Kun, clinging to Yueyang Red’s fingers, saw Shenchi’s pained expression and his face turned pale, "Shenchi!"

Yueyang Red placed both of them in Xiao Wang’s vehicle. Cao Kun quickly embraced Shenchi, laying him on his chest. Shenchi trembled in pain, moaning softly.

Cao Kun, heartbroken, kept talking to distract Shenchi, gently massaging his abdomen, "Come on, breathe with me..."

Yueyang Red: "Xiao Wang, find a doctor for the pregnant person. I’ll handle this. Go!"

Xiao Wang pleaded, "Commander!"

"This is an order!"

Turning away, the tank squad blocked the side gate, with Yueyang Red standing in front like a statue.

The dense horde of zombies surged forward, with tanks defending Yueyang Red’s feet. Amidst the deafening artillery, Yueyang Red faced the Level Five zombie.

As Shenchi’s pain subsided slightly, he looked up to see the horde of zombies gradually engulfing the tanks like ants devouring an elephant, forming mounds that eventually covered the giant’s body. He even heard the giant’s cries!

Shenchi’s skin crawled, but he couldn’t look away from the giant blocking the gate.

The vehicle drove into the dark mountains. Xiao Wang wiped his face and started using the radio to locate a doctor. Cao Kun took over, saying, "Doctor Qiu Xianxian, we have a pregnant person in labor. Where are you? I’ll come get you!"

After a moment, someone replied, "Doctor Qiu has been killed."

Cao Kun’s face darkened, "What about the other doctors!?"

"Here, here!" The man's words were cut off as someone else took the radio, "How is the mother doing? Has her water broken? How often is she having contractions?"

Cao Kun: "Her water hasn't broken yet. She's having contractions every five minutes."

Before the doctor could respond, there was a sudden rustling sound from behind them. Everyone immediately turned on their thermal imagers and saw hundreds of distorted figures rushing towards them!

Xiao Wang immediately ordered to open fire and instructed someone to warn the vehicles ahead to stay alert.

They dared not use weapons with devastating power, only using machine guns for rapid fire.

Cao Kun had them open the hood, then stood up, a fiery dragon winding its way out, igniting everything in its path. Within moments, it had taken out a large portion of the pursuing zombies.

Just as everyone was breathing a sigh of relief, dust began falling from above the tunnel, followed by a massive rock crashing down. The vehicle swerved sharply, narrowly avoiding the boulder, scraping past it.

Dust filled the air, and more boulders continued to fall, the area where they were dropping expanding. The zombies behind them caught up again, but fortunately, many were blocked by the boulders.

The tunnel wasn't long, and as light started to filter through, they saw the collapsed earth about to engulf the last few vehicles. Shenchi pushed his hands outward, causing ice to spread along the walls, freezing the collapsing earth in mid-air. The vehicles passed through safely, and Shenchi let his arms drop, exhausted.

The car suddenly stopped.

Shenchi turned around and saw a giant, dozens of meters tall, stepping out from behind the mountain, turning its head towards them.

Shenchi had never seen a Level 5 zombie before, but he had heard the doctor describe their characteristics. They could grow to ten to fifteen meters tall when advancing to Level 5, gaining immense strength and weight, capable of easily breaking through city walls and leaving deep footprints in concrete. Their crystal cores also moved from the pineal gland to the heart, and they developed regenerative abilities.

Given enough time, even severed heads could regrow.

At that moment, Shenchi looked at the Level 5 zombie giant standing just a hundred meters away, noticing the bloody hole in its forehead and the scar running across its face. He realized the doctor's descriptions were true and confirmed that this Level 5 zombie was indeed the Level 3 zombie from Wanqian City!

The others in the car were equally shocked when they saw the bloodied hole, unable to understand how it could still be alive despite such a fatal wound!

The scar-faced giant moved, lunging forward swiftly. The artillery immediately targeted it and began firing. The car swerved left and right, dodging the giant's attacks.

A horde of zombies swarmed over the hill, with higher-level zombies leading the charge, including the Level 4 zombie!

The scar-faced giant swung its arm, sending massive rocks tumbling down. Just as they were about to hit the car, a fiery dragon swooped in and incinerated the rocks into ash.

Shenchi erected one ice shield after another behind the car, slowing the giant's advance. Unexpectedly, it leaped straight towards the armored vehicle!

Everyone immediately stopped and got out of the car. Two slower soldiers were instantly crushed into pulp!

The scar-faced zombie then chased after Shenchi!

As Cao Kun was about to rush over, a Level 4 zombie intervened. Despite being severely injured and missing limbs, Cao Kun couldn't deal with it quickly.

Without Cao Kun, the falling rocks from the mountainside continued to smash into the vehicles below, crushing one of them halfway.

Ming Jing, covered in dirt, dragged a person out from under a car. The person wore a white lab coat, with their lower body mangled and both legs crushed.

Ming Jing quickly removed his scarf to stop the bleeding. Looking around, he saw Cao Kun and Shenchi fighting for their lives, the ground littered with corpses, and people still trying to rescue those trapped under the boulders.

Ming Jing handed the injured person to someone else, then climbed into the car, grabbing the radio. "Run west! As long as you get far enough, these zombies are migrating north and won't go that way."

After saying this, Ming Jing got out of the car, grabbed a knife, and ran to the nearby zombie, extracting the crystal core from its forehead.

He looked at the transparent crystal core, closed his eyes, sat cross-legged, and soon the core disappeared.

Ming Jing opened his eyes, and the approaching zombie froze. He slashed its neck with the knife, then extracted another Level 2 crystal core and absorbed it in the same manner.
