    Chapter 70

Chen Mo felt the hand pressed against his waist, its palm abnormally hot.

Compared to the subtle flirtation in Huanshang's office a few days ago, this time he clearly sensed the other person's emotions—intense, possessive, unmasked and no longer bothering to hide.

Chen Mo had a slender waist.

Due to his leg injury, he rarely engaged in running or similar exercises over the years. Occasionally, when Old K dragged him to the gym, he would mostly do crunches and pull-ups.

That thin layer of muscle tightened instantly at the touch of skin on skin.

After Xi Siyan leaned in to whisper those words against his lips, he did not let go.

Instead, he boldly moved his hand to Chen Mo’s lower back, holding him firmly while slowly caressing him and pulling him closer, then swiftly leaning in for another kiss.

From initial shock, to tension from being touched, to losing his last line of defense, Chen Mo thought about the person kissing him—it was Xi Siyan.

The one who, upon waking up again, asked, "Where's the guy in our class who's too sick to walk?"

The one whom Chen Mo never imagined having any connection with, until they gradually grew closer, even saying just before their first kiss that he would have nothing to do with him in this life, the next, or the one after.

For five years, since their reunion, Chen Mo had maintained a peaceful coexistence.

But now, everything was thrown into chaos.

    Their breathing grew heavier.

The pressure on his skin intensified, his tongue tingling with pain.

What used to be fleeting kisses in their youth now escalated uncontrollably.

Chen Mo never knew that when Xi Siyan didn't hold back his desire, it could be so consuming, making the air thick and suffocating, leaving Chen Mo feeling dazed. Trapped in Xi Siyan's embrace, his ears, neck, and collarbone flushed red. His half-opened suit revealed the skin beneath where Xi Siyan's hand had roamed, stained with sweat and an air of intimacy. The only sound was a muffled groan, echoing in the small lounge like fuel added to a raging fire.

Until a series of footsteps approached from the corridor outside.

The voices sounded as if they were heading towards the lounge.

    Casual chatter laced with schadenfreude:

"Did you hear what happened earlier? That rumored blacklisted actress caused a scene and got kicked out by security."

"I heard about it. Could it be that CM's CEO, Xi Siyan, is the one who blacklisted her?"

"It's possible. Think about it; she dared to cause trouble at such an event, clearly desperate and willing to take risks. Who knows if she wanted to leverage the situation or had some leverage over Chairman Xi? They couldn’t let her make the first move."

"I think it's more complicated than that. I heard it might be related to business competition."

"Conspiracy theory, indeed. Just now, I noticed the security seemed to be beefed up. Maybe there really are competitors causing trouble."

    ...

    The voices drew closer.

Chen Mo regained a sliver of clarity amidst the chaos, tilting his head away and whispering urgently, "Xi Siyan, someone's coming."

Xi Siyan continued to peck kisses along his neck.

Chen Mo tensed up, grabbing his hair and speaking hurriedly, "Are you listening to me? Let go."

"Don't panic." Xi Siyan spoke calmly, his voice low and hoarse, adding a hint of sexiness he usually lacked. He lifted his head, smoothed Chen Mo's disheveled hair, and said, "This is a VIP lounge; not everyone can come in here."

As he spoke, the footsteps that had approached the door suddenly veered off to the adjacent room.

    Silence returned outside.

Chen Mo pushed away slightly, realizing his clothes were disarrayed, half-opened.

Realizing how absurd the scene looked, he glared at Xi Siyan and hastily began buttoning up his shirt.

Xi Siyan chuckled softly, moving Chen Mo's hands aside and taking over the task.

As he buttoned up, his eyes swept over Chen Mo's face, chin, and throat, as if undressing him rather than dressing him.

Feeling frustrated with himself for losing control, Chen Mo snapped, "Stop looking at me like that!"

"Mr. Chen," Xi Siyan finished buttoning the last button and adjusted his collar to cover the marks, smiling slightly. "Are you angry?"

Chen Mo wasn't a child, despite his lack of experience in such matters. He quickly regained his composure, hooking his index finger around Xi Siyan's top button and pulling it closer.

"How could I be?" Chen Mo forced a smile. "It was quite exciting. I wonder what people would think if they found out the famous Mr. Xi was fooling around with his ex-boyfriend in the lounge before the ceremony ended."

Xi Siyan leaned in, "If I don't want anyone to know, they won't. Besides, the rest of the event doesn't need me much."

"So what?" Chen Mo raised an eyebrow.

"Going home with me now would be a good choice," Xi Siyan suggested.

Chen Mo looked at him incredulously, released him, and turned to open the door, "Forget it. Let's go our separate ways."

In the next moment, Xi Siyan slammed the door shut, which Chen Mo had just cracked open.

Standing behind him, Xi Siyan enveloped him in his arms, his tone turning serious, "I'm not joking. You fought with Ren Xiansen today; he won't let it go easily. He definitely has something planned."

Chen Mo didn't turn around, "He wouldn't dare sue me or expose anything. With the evidence I have, Chuanxing Technology would become a laughingstock in the tech industry. He doesn't have the guts."

Xi Siyan's chin brushed against his ear, "So you hit him without hesitation?"

"Couldn't help it." Chen Mo dodged slightly, not quite used to the situation. As he spoke, he turned around in the cramped space to face Xi Siyan, frowning as he asked, "When you were abroad, didn't the Xi family assign people to protect you?"

"Yes." Xi Siyan released him and stood up. "Since Uncle's incident, every important member of the Xi family had at least three bodyguards. The problem that time happened because we all thought the target was still my uncle. The enemy gave us that impression. Han Qian led the team rushing over, which gave the assailants their chance."

Chen Mo: "How many people did you face then?"

Xi Siyan: "Eight, plus two getaway drivers."

    Chen Mo cursed softly, "Damn."

He felt an urge to touch the scar on the back of Xi Siyan's head to confirm its presence but restrained himself.

Even with a simple recount, one could imagine how dire the situation must have been. It was only due to Xi Siyan's luck and his own skills that he managed to survive. Otherwise, Chen Mo would have doubted whether he could have escaped that perilous situation.

    He wasn't invincible.

He had only one life, and there were no do-overs in life.

Chen Mo frowned, "With the evidence I have, can we deal with him? Imprisonment, detention, investigation—anything will do."

"Now isn't the right time," Xi Siyan told him. "I just received news that Lunaer will be coming to the country within the next couple of days."

Chen Mo was unfamiliar with the operations abroad.

Since Xi Siyan said the timing wasn't right, Chen Mo dropped the subject.

"Really not coming home with me?" Xi Siyan asked again.

Chen Mo was skeptical, "So, are you worried about Ren Xiansen retaliating against me, or is there another reason?"

Xi Siyan glanced at his clothes, "What if I say both?"

"That won't be necessary." Chen Mo opened the door. "About what just happened... you can pretend it never happened; don't worry about it."

    Chen Mo opened the door.

His steps seemed steady, though a bit hurried.

Han Qian appeared out of nowhere and nudged Xi Siyan's shoulder, "Couldn't hold back? Who promised me before returning that they would only watch from afar until UA was completely eliminated? Now, how many days have you been back, and here you are, bringing him here for such nonsense during such an important moment?"

Xi Siyan gave him a cold look, "What do you mean by 'nonsense'?"

"Come on." Han Qian laughed exaggeratedly, "Don't forget you're still wearing the ex-boyfriend label. Any behavior that isn't above board is considered nonsense."

    Xi Siyan didn't bother responding.

His gaze followed Chen Mo's direction, deep and unfathomable, as if even the invisible silhouette couldn't escape.

Chen Mo actually hadn't intended to run away.

He wasn't someone who avoided problems, but the atmosphere and circumstances were inappropriate. He needed time and space to sort things out, to understand his true feelings and how to face the situation moving forward.

When he returned to the scene, the ceremony was nearing its end.

Su Qianran and Old K asked why he had been gone so long. Chen Mo made up a random excuse to deflect.

Ten minutes later, Xi Siyan reappeared.

He went up on stage, shook hands, and completed the handover without any signs of abnormality. He celebrated the successful completion of the ceremony with a champagne tower, and amidst thunderous applause, he walked through the crowd, meeting Chen Mo's eyes.

At that moment, no one knew that they had met and loved each other in their best years, and briefly clashed in business years later.

Intense emotions surfaced in a nearly uncontrollable kiss.

But when they retreated into the crowd, everything calmed down.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, after the ceremony ended, everyone dispersed.

Chen Mo followed behind Su Qianran and Old K, slowing his pace as they walked out.

The reception staff also handled the farewell, creating a bustling scene of business exchanges at the entrance.

The car from Xinrui was parked further back.

The three headed straight for it. Midway, someone called out, "Wait."

A staff member with a badge rushed up, "Excuse me, which one of you is Mr. Chen Mo from Xinrui?"

"I am." Chen Mo, puzzled, asked, "Is there something?"

The staff member handed him a box with elegant packaging, "This is from President Xi for you."

Chen Mo took it, confused, but before he could ask, the person hurried away.

At the car door, he got in.

As soon as Chen Mo sat in the passenger seat, Old K exclaimed, "What happened to your neck? It looks red."

Chen Mo instinctively covered it, speaking calmly, "Probably a bug bite at the scene."

Old K was about to ask more, but Su Qianran, seemingly surprised yet understanding, smiled and kicked Old K's seat, saying, "Stop talking nonsense, drive already." She then changed the subject for Chen Mo, "Why don't you see what President Xi gave you?"

Chen Mo took the opportunity to open the box and unwrapped it.

In the next second, he quickly closed it.

Su Qianran and Old K looked over simultaneously, "What is it?"

"Nothing," Chen Mo said calmly. "It's a document I left at the scene. He found it and returned it to me."

In fact, Chen Mo was gripping the edge of the box with his nails.

The item inside the box still had its packaging on, clearly labeled: Men's Disposable Nipple Covers.

Chen Mo's head bumped against the car window.

His mind flashed back to that moment in the resting room when, in a daze, Xi Siyan's hand seemed to accidentally brush against him, and he vaguely said something about pain.

A wave of heat rose from his neck upward.

Chen Mo closed his eyes and cursed inwardly, "Bastard."

He didn't dress like this every day!

What was the meaning of giving him this thing?!
