Chapter 147
by 雪廊Chapter 147
No matter how good the VIP hospital room was, its facilities ultimately couldn't compare to the comfort of home. After Tian Ruan finished showering, he noticed one of his slippers was bigger than the other. He thought he might have swapped with Yu Jingmo’s, but then realized Yu Jingmo’s slippers were even larger—like small boats.
Yu Jingmo noticed it too and immediately grabbed Tian Ruan under the arms, lifting him out of the slippers. “Don’t wear these—they’ve been used by someone else.”
Wrapped in a bathrobe and barefoot, Tian Ruan sat on the bed, unable to go anywhere while waiting for new slippers.
He eyed the milk carton on the coffee table longingly. “Mr. Yu, I want some milk.”
Yu Jingmo: “Didn’t you get enough earlier?”
“…I meant cow’s milk. Are you a cow or something?”
Yu Jingmo chuckled and brought him the milk. “It’s a bit cold. Let me warm it for you.”
Warming milk with body heat worked fine—just took time. Pressing the milk carton against his abs, Yu Jingmo caught Tian Ruan staring intently from the corner of his eye and couldn’t help but smirk. “Do you want to be this milk carton?”
Tian Ruan boldly reached out to touch Yu Jingmo’s well-defined abs, the firm yet supple texture making it impossible for him to pull away. “I’m touching them. Got something to say about that?”
Yu Jingmo laughed softly. “No. Just… you could press harder. Feels like kitten paws—too ticklish.”
Tian Ruan scratched him.
The solid muscles twitched, and Yu Jingmo exhaled. “I’m not your scratching post.”
Tian Ruan countered defensively, “You scratch me like this all the time.”
“Scratch you?” Yu Jingmo glanced at Tian Ruan’s flat stomach. “What abs?”
“…They’ll come back.” Tian Ruan switched from scratching to grabbing. “This is how you play with my butt.”
Yu Jingmo’s lips curled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “Is that so?”
“It is.”
“Hmm.”
A knock sounded at the door. Tian Ruan immediately withdrew his hand and sat up straight, turning his back to the door.
Yu Jingmo called, “Come in.”
Mao Qi entered, silently placed the new slippers down, and left without a word, trying to be completely invisible.
Yu Jingmo picked up the slippers and bent down to help Tian Ruan put them on. “Still too big, but this is the only size the hospital store had for men’s slippers.”
Tian Ruan wiggled his toes. “Better than nothing.”
Yu Jingmo’s expression darkened. “This is our hospital, and they’re this careless. Seems like their management of daily supplies isn’t strict. If the regulators came to inspect, they’d have a field day.”
This was Tian Ruan’s first hospital stay. He said, “I heard most people bring their own supplies when staying in the hospital.”
“That’s for standard rooms. High-end rooms should provide basic necessities.” Yu Jingmo walked to the window and called Yu Shang, explaining the situation. “When you have time, make some surprise inspections. Replace what needs replacing, penalize what needs penalizing. A hospital isn’t like other places—there’s no room for leniency.”
Yu Shang: “I’ll handle it.”
Tian Ruan thought to himself, *Only these two could turn a hospital stay into work.* After all, both father and son were notorious workaholics in the original novel.
Aside from work, the only other thing that could drive them wild was love.
Whenever the main couple from the original book were together, it was like dry wood meeting a blazing fire—sparks flew between them.
At work, Yu Shang maintained strict professionalism, handling all matters methodically. His cold and distant demeanor once led people to suspect he was frigid—that he was impotent.
That was until he and Lu Qiuyan officially went public, causing the company to erupt in shock.
Does this sound familiar?
Exactly. Yu Jingmo had already walked this path.
Now, it was Yu Jingmo’s personal time after finishing work. During these moments with Tian Ruan, he couldn’t keep his hands off him.
Tian Ruan watched shyly as he approached. His tall, imposing figure standing by the bed was like a jade monolith about to collapse.
From his smoldering gaze to his slender neck, prominent collarbones, the faint outline of his chest and abs hidden beneath the black silk robe, his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs—everything about him was downright sinful.
Yu Jingmo’s well-defined fingers lifted Tian Ruan’s delicate chin as he gazed down at him. The young man’s features were exquisite, his lips red and teeth white, his skin as smooth as a peeled hard-boiled egg—so tender that a single pinch would leave a mark.
This slender frame easily bore traces of passion, though they would fade just as quickly.
It made Yu Jingmo want to claim him over and over again.
Leaning down, Yu Jingmo kissed those moist lips, tasting hints of mint and orange. Gradually, he explored deeper, savoring the honeyed sweetness within.
That sweetness spread from his mouth, coursing through his entire body.
With one hand, Yu Jingmo effortlessly supported Tian Ruan’s narrow waist, crushing him against his chest as he kissed him fiercely.
Tian Ruan yielded, sinking into the cotton sheets, arms wrapped around Yu Jingmo’s neck, locked in each other's embrace.
Another night of fiery passion.
But because they didn’t take the final step, Yu Jingmo was left with frustrated desire, rubbing against him repeatedly.
Tian Ruan was supposed to sleep in the companion bed, but he ended up in Yu Jingmo’s arms until dawn.
When he opened his eyes, he found Yu Jingmo murmuring softly, “Awake?”
Suddenly remembering where he was, Tian Ruan let out a yelp and scrambled up. “Pants—where are my pants?”
Yu Jingmo chuckled, reaching for the pants by the bedside, only for his arm to stiffen suddenly. “Pins and needles.”
Tian Ruan knew it was from him lying on it all night. Guiltily, he massaged Yu Jingmo’s hand. “If we slept side by side, we’d have enough room even lying sideways. Why did you let me sleep on top of you?”
Yu Jingmo sighed. “With my shoulder width, sleeping sideways would just give me a crick in my neck.”
“…Fair point.”
Once Yu Jingmo felt better, Tian Ruan pulled on his pants himself, only to let out a gasp as he tugged them up.
“What’s wrong?” Yu Jingmo asked.
Tian Ruan looked down at his thighs—the inner sides were flushed red. His eyes brimmed with tears. “This is all your fault.”
Yu Jingmo glanced at it, then already had the foresight to grab ointment from the bedside drawer. Holding Tian Ruan’s knee, he applied the medicine. “I won’t do this next time.”
“Liar. You always say that.” Tian Ruan had come to know Yu Jingmo well by now—in such moments, promises meant nothing. Once he got worked up, all bets were off.
Yu Jingmo quirked his lips. “Sorry,” he said.
Tian Ruan was relieved it was Sunday; one day to recover was enough, and he could still go to school tomorrow.
Right on schedule, the doctors came by right after they finished breakfast. The hospital director arrived as well and gave Yu Jingmo a brief examination before saying, "Mr. Yu, you're in good health now. You can be discharged today."
Yu Jingmo said calmly, "Thank you."
"You're too kind, Mr. Yu. It's our duty," the director replied with a smile before asking, "Did you sleep well last night, Mr. Yu?"
"Well enough," Yu Jingmo answered curtly, all business. Aside from family, he showed no favoritism toward anyone.
Checking out was simple—they didn’t have much to pack, and the two of them could handle it easily.
Yu Jingmo asked, "I’m heading straight to the company. What about you?"
Tian Ruan insisted, "Of course, I’m going with you."
"Mm." Yu Jingmo looked pleased. "You can rest in the lounge."
Just as they reached the elevator, the butler showed up, apologizing, "My apologies, Mr. Yu. Hit some traffic."
"Not late at all," Yu Jingmo replied, handing him a bag. "Perfect timing—you can take Yu Shang home."
"Aren’t you and Madam coming home?"
"We’re going to the company."
The butler said no more and led the way to Yu Shang’s room, knocking lightly. "Young Master Yu, Young Master Lu, are you up and ready?"
A moment later, Yu Shang opened the door himself. "All packed."
The butler smiled politely. "Then let’s head back."
Still burning with curiosity, Tian Ruan couldn’t help but ask again, "You really don’t remember anything after the mushroom poisoning?"
Lu Qiuyan strode over casually. "Goodbye, Uncle, Auntie."
Tian Ruan: "...” Confirmed—this sharp-tongued protagonist must be being prickly.
That attitude meant he remembered!
Tian Ruan smiled sweetly. "What a memorable life experience this has been."
Lu Qiuyan: "Life is long, and this is the first time I’ve had an uncle and aunt."
Tian Ruan: "..."
Yu Shang said stiffly, "Dad, Papa, Lu Qiuyan and I will head back first."
Tian Ruan huffed, "Don’t let the door hit you, you ungrateful brat! And you, problem in-law!"
Suddenly, thunder rumbled outside.
Tian Ruan’s mood instantly flipped. "Son, Lu Qiuyan, make sure to rest well when you get home! Stay hydrated—that’s the only way I’ll feel at ease. Let me walk you out~"
Yu Shang and Lu Qiuyan exchanged a look. Life sure was full of surprises—this was the first time they’d seen someone switch moods so quickly.
The butler juggled their luggage and led the way ahead.
Suddenly, a wheelchair came speeding out from a hospital room.
The butler managed to stop in time, but the bags crashed into him. “…Ah, sorry, so sorry! Are you alright, sir?” He hurriedly picked up the scattered items. “That was so clumsy of me—I’m really sorry.”
The man delicately furrowed his brow and, glancing up, paused slightly. “Yu Jingmo?”
Yu Jingmo’s expression remained unchanged. “Hello.”
Tian Ruan: “?”
Lu Qiuyan immediately perked up with gossipy interest.
When the protagonist wanted tea, there was no way he wouldn’t get it. Sure enough, the young man in the wheelchair took the cue, smiling softly. “It’s been nearly five—no, six years, hasn’t it?”
Yu Jingmo: “Mm. How have you been?”
The man looked down at his legs. “What do you think?”
“You’re disabled now?”
“…Yes.”
“How did it happen?”
“A car accident.”
“This hospital has excellent orthopedic care. You can trust the treatment.”
The young man gazed at him, his gaze inscrutable. “I know. This is the Yu family’s hospital. I came here hoping to take a chance and see you.”
Yu Jingmo said nothing.
A lightbulb went off in Tian Ruan’s head. He took Yu Jingmo’s hand and asked pointedly, “Husband, who is he?”
Yu Jingmo glanced at the jealous young man beside him, amusement lighting his eyes as he laced their fingers together in reply.
Será que agora temos um chá verde de respeito?! 😁
