    Chapter 84

Qi Mo looked at her husband soaked like a drowned rat and laughed. "Qiu Qiu, stop bullying your dad."

As soon as she finished speaking, Qi Mo reached out, and the tiny storm cloud immediately shrank, hovering at her fingertips.

The old man, seeing the water, smiled warmly. "Can we drink this water?"

"Of course, it's very clean," Qi Mo said, handing the small cloud to the old man. "It’ll last roughly three to four days."

The old man called his secretary over and instructed him to take the tiny storm cloud to the cafeteria so everyone could get water and drink as much as they wanted.

Even they had to ration water.

The old man turned to Huo Liangzhou and Qi Mo and asked, "I heard from Bai Bin and Chou Yun that you can conduct an awakening ceremony. Does it come with any drawbacks?"

Qi Mo replied, "There shouldn’t be. Qiu Qiu doesn’t force her followers to do anything. She might establish her own guard unit, but it’s all on a volunteer basis."

"Qiu Qiu doesn’t control thoughts, and abilities aren’t directly given. She just provides an awakening seed. After that, everyone has to train to grow stronger themselves," Qi Mo explained.

The old man nodded. "Can we arrange for a group of people to undergo the awakening ceremony first?"

Qi Mo had no issue—that’s what they were here for.

Soon, Qi Mo and Huo Liangzhou were led to the main hall.

Bai Bin hurried over. "Qi Mo, Qi Mo, how about building a temple for Qiu Qiu first? We can’t fall behind, right? We’ve got to keep up appearances."

"A temple?" Qi Mo looked at Huo Liangzhou. "Should we build a temple?"

"We should definitely keep up appearances. Qiu Qiu, Qiu Qiu, what kind of temple do you want?" Qi Mo asked.

Qiu Qiu, who had been messing with her pudgy brother, appeared, glanced at the line of people, and gave two little meows.

Bai Bin looked at Qi Mo expectantly. "So, how do we do this, Qi Mo?"

Qi Mo coughed lightly. "No need to go all out. Just a cleared area will do."

Bai Bin nodded. "I’ll scout a location for you later. You go ahead with the awakening ceremony first."

Qi Mo was familiar with the process—a seat for Qiu Qiu, while she found a spot nearby to rest.

Otherwise, standing for hours in front of a thousand people would exhaust her.

Though Qiu Qiu was a lazy furball, she worked efficiently—six awakenings a minute, four hundred in an hour.

In two and a half hours, the ceremony wrapped up.

By then, Qi Mo, Huo Liangzhou, and Bai Bin were already selecting a location.

Only Qiu Qiu remained, facing a group of soldiers.

The soldiers, dying to pet the cute ball of fluff, stayed professional, ensuring Qiu Qiu wouldn’t feel disrespected.

The awakening rate here was also around fifty percent.

When it wrapped up, Qi Mo whistled for Qiu Qiu.

Snowball emerged, and Qi Mo brought out the chubby baby as well. The whole family gathered around the map Bai Bin provided to pick a spot.

"Actually, I think an amusement park would be great—a kitty-themed one, hahaha," Qi Mo suggested.

Kitty Snowball egged them on, loving the idea.

Soon, Qiu Qiu was pestered nonstop by her little brother.

Coincidentally, there was an old, abandoned amusement park near the camp.

Bai Bin took Qi Mo and the others there.

The place was quite large, by a lake with a winding river—though, unfortunately, there was no water...

The old amusement park was blanketed in darkness.

When the darkness receded, the entrance had transformed into "Kittyland," featuring a giant kitty statue and adorable cat paw prints.

Inside, every facility bore little cat paw designs.

Even the long-dried lake and river were now filled with water...

"Water! It's water! This is amazing!" Bai Bin was thrilled and immediately jumped in.

He hadn’t had a proper bath in so long.

Chou Yun also leaped in, and the two splashed around...

Qi Mo glanced at his kitty, who had jumped onto a roller coaster, then turned to Huo Liangzhou curiously. "Is this what a shrine looks like? Isn’t this just an amusement park?"

Huo Liangzhou smirked. "As long as he’s happy."

While Huo Liangzhou accompanied his darling kitty to explore the rides, the senior commander’s side had already gathered scientists to test Psychic Powers and the limits of mind control.

Cursing the kitty or complaining was fine—even criticizing Huo Liangzhou was allowed. But not a single negative word could be spoken about Young Master Momo.

Anyone who did would get shocked—each time worse than the last.

"It seems Momo is off-limits—no disrespect allowed," the old man remarked.

After all, on Qi Huai’s side, even mentioning the "God of Dusk" or Qi Huai’s name was forbidden.

Followers wouldn't dare mention it—doing so was fatal, even under coercion.

After riding with Chubby baby on the merry-go-round, the toddler was squealing with glee.

By 11 p.m., Huo Liangzhou said goodbye to the elder with Qi Mo, informing him that the kitty would return the next evening and any issues could be told directly to the little one.

When Qi Mo returned home, a crowd had gathered at the door—the village chief, the Elder Clan Leader, and some others, including Qin Lan and Huo Jingxuan.

"Why aren’t you all resting or working? What’s this about?" Huo Liangzhou asked.

The Elder Clan Leader spoke up, "Liangzhou, Momo, you see... all our village boys want powers. It wouldn't be right if others have them while our own village doesn’t."

Huo Liangzhou nodded. "Tomorrow, then. Our Young Master needs his rest tonight."

The Elder Clan Leader and village chief, after getting a clear answer, soon dispersed.

Early the next morning, while Qi Huai was still asleep, Huang Ming arrived with even more people. They’d already seen the perks the night before.

A water-aligned Psychic released a large amount of water, letting the townsfolk drink their fill at last.

Next, a wood-aligned Psychic summoned potatoes and radishes. Though mass production wasn’t yet possible, handing out a radish per household was easy.

When Huang Ming saw the massive building behind the village and learned that Huo Liangzhou and the others had moved it there, he was blown away—was this divine power?

To move a whole building from Jiangcheng intact…

Huang Ming immediately sent people to the city. Now that they had their own god, why look elsewhere?

Upon receiving the news, the Yuncheng government took it seriously and sent people over that same afternoon to investigate.

Once they checked things out, they found that while the effects weren’t as immediate as Qi Huai’s side, the conditions were a lot looser.

Who’d willingly bow to control if they had a choice—especially by a god? Once you’re in, there’s no way out.

With a better alternative available, Qi Huai’s Twilight God was dropped fast.

Who wouldn’t want to get stronger, especially on their own terms?

Qi Mo had even mentioned that if one trained to the extreme and comprehended the rules, they could forge their own godhood—meaning they, too, had a chance to become gods.

Clearly, Qi Huai’s side lacked this possibility, as all their power came only from faith.

Qi Huai received the news on the third day—his move on Yuncheng fell through, as the city refused to cooperate.

Moreover, a new, unknown deity had emerged in Yuncheng.

Upon learning this, Qi Huai—who had been kicking back with his men—immediately kicked everyone out.

    He hurried to the temple.

Kneeling before the idol, he spilled the details to the Twilight God.

The Twilight God responded, stating that He had not yet fully awakened and thus pushed Qi Huai to speed up the construction of temples and the expansion of His followers. His injuries required a ton of faith to heal.

At the same time, the Twilight God commanded Qi Huai to wipe out this new god.

After receiving the order, Qi Huai rounded up his crew to investigate this new deity…

The Twilight God’s followers began assembling and mobilizing.

Soon, messages were sent to Shangjing City, as well as to Huo Liangzhou’s side.

Upon hearing the news, Qi Mo grew worried. He immediately grabbed Qiu Qiu, who had been playing with his chubby brother, and said, "Little one, little one, that so-called god is coming to kill us."

A tiny cat paw pressed against his father’s palm. "Daddy, don’t worry. No one wants to be controlled."

Bai Jiu and the others arrived at Huo Village.

After finally settling in, everyone went through awakening once.

But before they could grow stronger, they learned that Qi Huai’s forces were preparing to attack, which infuriated them.

Many who had awakened offensive Psychic Powers formed teams to investigate the matter.

Qi Huai sent tens of thousands of zealots marching toward Yuncheng—this was their god's domain, where no other gods would be permitted.

Reports kept flooding in: these fanatics had freakish physical abilities, each capable of taking on dozens of ordinary people.

Some even possessed lethal cleansing powers that could kill on contact.

They were called God's Apostles—one tier below Divine Messengers, but still serving as group leaders.

Huang Ming, Bai Jiu, Chen Lei, and Qin Lan gathered together.

Huang Ming fretted, "The emperor isn't worried, but the servants are freaking out. What do we do? Boss Huo doesn't care, the young master can't fight, and our little god-kitty isn't even bothered."

"Any weapons left? How many combat-ready Psychics do we have? We could ambush them on the road," Chen Lei asked.

Bai Jiu flicked away his cigarette. "Screw this, I'm taking my crew to wipe them out."

Qin Lan watched their agitation and said, "Maybe our little god-kitty has its own plan."

"We should ask first before deciding," she suggested.

A massive mutated tiger advanced step by step.

Qi Huai sat atop it, cradled by an unnaturally handsome man.

As the tiger roared, Qi Huai commanded, "This crusade will purge the heretics. Bring two—the Tiger General's hungry. Get him a snack."

At once, two young devotees stepped forward.

With fanatical devotion, they offered themselves to the three-meter-tall, six-meter-long beast.

The sickening crunch of bones—blood sprayed. Only as they died did they finally scream, realizing too late...

Hundreds more just like them waited in line.

A cat-cult scout watching through binoculars shuddered. "Holy shit, I'm gonna piss my pants. We need to report back and destroy this 'Twilight God'—this is some nightmare fuel."

"Brainwashing people to be eaten alive? That's hypnosis, mind control. How can our kitty god even fight this psycho deity?" Xu Sai muttered.

Zhang Liu scoffed, "Why panic? Our god-kitty's calm for a reason. Real power means staying cool. That Twilight freak only attacked because it's scared shitless."
