Chapter 021 Wedding Ceremony 13
byChapter 021 The Wedding March: Part 13
Wei Qing carried Zhou Younan all the way upstairs.
Reaching the second floor, Wei Qing gave Zhou Younan a slight bounce. "You’re so light—under fifty kilograms?"
Zhou Younan was preoccupied, strategizing how to escape the impending situation. Too distracted to engage, he offered a perfunctory "Hn" in response.
They arrived at the bedroom door—a yellow wooden door, freshly painted.
In the empire, common households now used automatic metal or glass doors.
This bedroom door, however, was distinctly Wei Qing’s style, exuding a primal, rustic feel.
Wei Qing narrowed his eyes and said to Zhou Younan, "I prefer a little more flesh on the bones."
Zhou Younan remained silent, head bowed.
*What nonsense. His ex-wife looked lean too.*
Unaware of Zhou Younan’s inner thoughts, Wei Qing kicked the door open.
The room lay bare before them.
A tattered burlap sofa, a wooden table covered in scratches, a bed curtain riddled with small holes…
Zhou Younan’s expression turned peculiar. Had they entered the wrong room? This place was so dilapidated, like a junkyard planet.
Yet, it felt strangely familiar…
Wei Qing walked in casually, chuckling as he said to Zhou Younan, "Let’s set a small goal—gain ten pounds first."
"Oh."
From Wei Qing's nonchalant demeanor, they hadn’t come to the wrong place.
Masking his astonishment, Zhou Younan scanned the room again.
His own tiny room back on the garbage planet had been marginally more habitable than this.
How could everything possibly look so broken?
Noticing the claw marks on the wall, he understood. The culprit behind the room’s disarray was likely Wei San.
But wasn’t this Wei Qing’s room? Wei San had trashed it like this, yet Wei Qing wasn’t angry at all? Wasn’t he known for his terrible temper? Or was it just that he had no patience for people but bottomless patience for pets?
Lost in thought, Zhou Younan was suddenly tossed onto the bed. The bed curtain was ragged, but the bedding was neatly arranged and surprisingly soft.
The moment he settled, Wei Qing pressed down on him, claiming his mouth.
Unable to push him away, Zhou Younan had no choice but to endure. At least he could breathe now, keeping his mind clear.
"Nn… stop…" He patted Wei Qing’s shoulder.
Wei Qing paused, his pale green eyes smoldering with an intensity that could consume a person.
"Why?" he asked.
*Why?*
The dilapidated room had Zhou Younan too off-balance to come up with a proper excuse.
Swallowing hard, Zhou Younan stammered out a pitiful plea, "I-I’m not ready yet."
Wei Qing chuckled. "You don’t need to be ready. I am."
His slender fingers slipped under Zhou Younan’s clothes, mapping the contours of his waist.
"Don’t… mmm…" His protests were swallowed once more.
Zhou Younan tensed his legs, arching upward in an attempt to escape.
Noticing his movement, Wei Qing broke the kiss, smirking as he manacled Zhou Younan’s waist and effortlessly pulled him back.
To prevent further escape attempts, Wei Qing climbed onto the bed, caging Zhou Younan beneath him.
Wei Qing pushed Zhou Younan’s shirt up, only for Zhou Younan to tug it back down.
Wei Qing pushed it up again; Zhou Younan pulled it down again.
When Wei Qing tried once more, Zhou Younan’s face flushed red. Biting his lip, he white-knuckled the hem of his shirt, refusing to let go.
Wei Qing watched him with amusement. *Shy, huh?*
Zhou Younan glared at him angrily, cheeks flaming. *Animal.*
"You’re biting your lip," Wei Qing teased, leaning in for another kiss.
Zhou Younan covered Wei Qing’s mouth with his hand, his face set in stubborn refusal. "Not happening tonight. Seriously."
"And why's that?"
"My heat cycle's due soon. If we do it now, what if it jumpstarts it?"
At the critical moment, Zhou Younan finally landed on an excuse.
In reality, an Omega’s heat cycle ran like clockwork and wouldn’t be triggered early just from sex.
But many Alphas were clueless about Omega physiology. Did Wei Qing count among those? Zhou Younan decided to gamble.
He helpfully pointed out to Wei Qing, "Aren’t you meeting the emperor tomorrow?"
Wei Qing went rigid.
As a transmigrator, he only knew that Alphas and Omegas in this world had heat cycles, not unlike a beastman's mating season.
Alphas, Omegas, and Betas could all bear children, with Omegas having the highest conception rate.
Beyond that, Wei Qing couldn't be bothered with the details. If Zhou Younan said it was possible, then it must be.
If Zhou Younan went into heat, Wei Qing would have to stay with him, making it impossible to attend the imperial audience tomorrow.
Wei Qing’s scowl deepened, visibly displeased.
Seeing his hesitation, Zhou Younan was surprised.
*This bullshit excuse actually worked? Wei Qing had two wives before—how was he this ignorant about Omegas?!*
Zhou Younan concluded that Wei Qing couldn't have given less of a damn about his past spouses. Well, his cluelessness came in handy—like now, when he actually swallowed this lie whole.
Zhou Younan took the initiative to kiss Wei Qing, playing hard to get.
"After your honeymoon leave is approved, we can do it then, okay?"
Wei Qing closed his eyes and buried his face in Zhou Younan's neck.
His voice was hoarse: "This is torture."
With the matter resolved, Zhou Younan patted his back in satisfaction: "It'll pass."
Wei Qing chuckled: "I'm not a three-year-old child."
Zhou Younan's hand was caught by Wei Qing and pressed against his erection.
He lightly nibbled the soft flesh of Zhou Younan's earlobe and said in a husky voice: "Zhou Younan, release your pheromones and drown me in you."
...
His hands were washed clean, but Zhou Younan was still grossed out.
He decided that, for a short while, he wouldn't put his hands near his nose, wouldn't touch his face, and wouldn't use them to eat.
Wei Qing lay behind Zhou Younan, pulling him into a possessive embrace.
Just now, Zhou Younan had once again realized Wei Qing's strength and terrifying restraint.
Wei Qing was an Alpha, and he was extremely responsive to Zhou Younan's pheromones.
Yet, even when aroused, he hadn't let slip even a whiff of his own pheromones.
How terrifying! What kind of self-control was needed to achieve that? Was he even human?
To control his pheromones to such an extent, Wei Qing had still played pitiful and said, "I'm really uncomfortable"—he must have been deliberately teasing him!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Zhou Younan really wanted to turn around and give Wei Qing a hard kick *there*. That would solve the problem in just one second, without taking *that* long.
His wrist was especially sore now.
Wei Qing's breath drew closer to his scent gland, and unease flickered through Zhou Younan's heart.
He had said his heat cycle might come early—was Wei Qing thinking of giving him a temporary mark?
Zhou Younan stiffened. If Wei Qing proposed a temporary mark, he truly couldn't think of any other excuse to refuse.
An Omega's scent gland was located at the back of the neck.
Wei Qing leaned in and sniffed. The scent of catnip really did come from here.
So rich.
He couldn't resist licking it.
"Wei Qing." Zhou Younan shivered all over and raised a hand to cover his neck. "Don't... don't do that?"
"Do what?"
Zhou Younan murmured, his tone pleading: "Don't... don't mark me."
Wei Qing chuckled and hugged him tighter. "I won't do anything you don't want. You just smell so good—I only wanted a taste."
"Mhm."
Even though Wei Qing said that, Zhou Younan didn't let his guard down. He remained wary, afraid Wei Qing might suddenly bite him.
On guard, on guard... until the soreness in his wrist spread through his whole body, and he drifted into sleep.
Zhou Younan had a dream. He dreamed he was running through a forest, chased by a huge leopard.
"Why are you chasing me?" Zhou Younan asked.
Somehow, the leopard chasing him turned into Wei Qing.
Zhou Younan was tackled, his blond hair flying wildly.
His eyes blazed as he laughed wildly: "I'm going to eat you!"
So terrifying!
Zhou Younan bolted upright.
He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, then froze completely.
Memories of last night came rushing back...
Prying his hand off his forehead with difficulty, Zhou Younan's lips quivered.
His hand had dirtied his face—now his face was dirty too.
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself.
Scrubbing his hands furiously against the blanket, he then buried his face in it and ground his face into it.
Zhou Younan let out a smothered "Ughhh—".
His device beeped, and Zhou Younan opened it.
A flood of notifications from "Darling Husband."
H-hubby darling? Who was this? Zhou Younan had never added this person.
Right now, the bed held only him—Wei Qing was gone, probably at his imperial audience.
Zhou Younan shot upright.
It was obvious—this "Darling Husband" nickname had to be Wei Qing's doing.
While Zhou Younan was asleep, Wei Qing had added himself and sneakily set that nickname.
Zhou Younan gritted his teeth and stabbed at the screen. The earliest message was from 6 AM: "Breakfast porridge is ready, kept warm in the warmer."
Followed by one at 6:30 AM: "Younan, I'm off to court. Back before you miss me."
Zhou Younan replied dismissively: "Mhm mhm mhm."
Then he edited Wei Qing's contact name to "The Beast."
Looking at "The Beast" in his contacts list, he smirked in approval.
Zhou Younan had hardly any numbers saved in his device. Until yesterday, just General Henry Gray, Zhou Mo, and Captain Fei Li.
Now there are only "The Beast," Zhou Mo, and Fei Li in the contacts list on the terminal.
Henry Gray's name has disappeared.
It must have been deleted by Wei Qing.
Zhou Younan rolled his eyes and angrily added the word "Big" in front of "Beast."
"Big freaking Beast!"
Still fuming, he climbed out of bed, and Zhou Younan remembered another important matter.
Usually, he struggled with insomnia, falling asleep very late and waking long before dawn every day.
Yesterday, though, Zhou Younan went to bed early and slept soundly until morning.
Why?
Zhou Younan thought about it.
Must've been all the craziness from yesterday; he was exhausted.
And boy, had it been a day—early in the morning, he went to the Golden Triangle Hotel to wait for his wedding.
Then he rushed to Marshal Wang Han’s house and, in front of everyone, fed Wei Qing a capsule.
Then he’d chased Wei Qing halfway across the city to Empire People’s Square.
After the wedding wrapped up, he was taken to this small island in the lake.
In the evening, he met Wu Huarou, the genius mecha engineer Wang Wu, and Wei Qing’s pet leopard Wei San.
After taking a bath, he also spent a long time with Wei Qing in bed… killing time.
It had been a long day—no wonder he was exhausted.
Zhou Younan went downstairs.
"You’re up, Madam." Wu Huarou was mopping the floor and greeted Zhou Younan obediently.
"Mm," Zhou Younan grunted.
He was surprised to see that the door and glass destroyed by Wang Wu yesterday had been restored to their original state.
"You fixed all that overnight?"
Wu Huarou struck a bodybuilder pose. "Yes, Wu Huarou is very strong. Haha."
After laughing twice, he added, "Practice makes perfect!"
"Many repairs?" Zhou Younan raised an eyebrow.
Wu Huarou tilted his head. "The Emperor, Vance Nabel, Wang Wu—every time they come, the house ends up in a mess. General Henry Gray and General Su Xi occasionally break a few things too."
Zhou Younan fought back a smirk. "You’ve got your work cut out for you."
Wu Huarou threw down the rag and flopped at Zhou Younan’s feet. "But Madaaam~ Wu Huarou *loves* dramas! As long as I can watch a little, I don’t feel tired at all."
"Uh..." Zhou Younan hesitated. "Wei Qing doesn’t allow you to watch dramas."
"Boo hoo hoo, boo hoo hoo hoo..." Wu Huarou burst into tears.
"Ugh, fine. Just a *little*," Zhou Younan couldn’t stand its creepy robot sobs. "A little won’t hurt."
"Yesss! Madam’s the *best*!" Wu Huarou cheered, dancing around Zhou Younan like a puppy.
What kind of word was "best"? Was it from a drama?
Zhou Younan chuckled to himself—Wu Huarou seemed silly, but he knew how to act pitiful.
Why did this tactic feel familiar...
A flash of long golden hair popped into his head.
Nope. Not going there.
Zhou Younan shook his head, ruthlessly tossing the thought of golden hair away.
Once he’d downed his porridge, Zhou Younan explored the villa.
The basement held just one tiny room—Wu Huarou’s workshop.
The first floor had a kitchen, living room, bar, display wall, and bathroom, with the remaining space taken up by a massive walk-in fridge.
The cold storage was filled with fresh vegetables and fruits, with a freezer at the very back. The temperature inside was extremely low, and various cuts of meat hung from the ceiling. The whole thing was kinda nightmare fuel, startling Zhou Younan.
Upstairs were two bedrooms, an empty activity room, and a bathroom.
The third floor was an open-air balcony and an artificial moonlight room. He had heard of sunrooms, but what was Wei Qing’s moonlight room supposed to be?
Zhou Younan squinted up, baffled, at the crescent moon projected onto the ceiling.
Just then, his terminal buzzed—Zhou Mo calling.
Zhou Younan was excited. "Hey, bro."
"Nan Nan, are you okay?"
"Could be worse."
Zhou Mo chuckled. "Mind if I swing by? Need to talk face-to-face. Your candy box is still with me."
"Did you hear something about Luo Luo? Get over here!" Zhou Younan agreed happily.
"Is Wei Qing there?"
"No, he went to see the Emperor."
"Then you’ll have to tell him my flight ID."
