    Chapter 21

    1

The door slammed shut with a resounding "bang."

Pei Chang's back pressed against it, his hips lifted as he was hoisted high.

    "Qin Yihe…"

A low, guttural gasp escaped him, his mouth completely sealed, leaving no room to breathe. Unswallowed saliva traced a path from the corner of his lips down to his Adam's apple, the rest swallowed back. A faint, metallic taste of blood, slick and wet, was delivered into his throat by that tongue. Pei Chang gripped the other’s hair tightly, his body burning with an irrational, twisted jealousy!

Whose blood was that sweet, metallic, and salty taste from?

Even if it was for sustenance, how could Qin Yihe drink someone else’s blood!

How could his mouth carry another's taste!

Qin Yihe should only consume his flesh and drink his blood!

He should only bear his scent; even his very being should merge with his flesh and blood!

A flush spread across Pei Chang’s cheeks, an all-consuming desire to be devoured by Qin Yihe surging through him, consuming him entirely.

The intense physical reaction felt as if it would melt Pei Chang away!

He trembled and writhed with an unbearable craving, his moans growing progressively louder and more desperate with each of Qin Yihe’s kisses, now devoid of sharp teeth.

And just like that, consumed by his own jealousy and desire, he soiled his trousers.

His body quivered slightly, eyes narrowed, swollen, damp lips slightly parted. His freed tongue was connected by a silver thread of drool, shamelessly entwining with the other’s.

"Pei… Chang…" A gravelly, hoarse voice sounded by his ear.

The coarse voice was far from pleasant.

It even carried the chilling grip of a demon.

But the moment Pei Chang heard it, he felt an overwhelming happiness so profound it brought tears to his eyes.

He clung tightly to the neck before him, breathing rapidly, trembling all over, his desire instantly spiking to a fever pitch!

"Qin Yihe." He opened his mouth, the voice thick with overwhelming emotion.

The love he couldn’t voice transformed into the name he painfully uttered, again and again.

Pei Chang was held tightly, as if being melded into this lean, bare body.

He felt no pain, only pure ecstasy!

Pei Chang’s wet pants pressed against Qin Yihe’s chest and abdomen, smudging something even more damp and viscous.

Qin Yihe looked down at him. Pei Chang’s cheeks were flushed crimson, his hand covering himself as he whispered, "Don’t look."

His blushing face was endearingly cute.

The swaying look in his eyes was deeply enticing.

Innocence and lust mingled, striking fiercely at the deepest, most vulnerable part of Qin Yihe’s heart.

Two long arms lifted Pei Chang’s thighs forcefully. Pei Chang’s body lifted upward, his knees draping over the other’s shoulders.

He looked down at Qin Yihe from above, the blush spreading to his neck. Embarrassed yet eager, he slowly moved his hand away, feigning resistance while inviting…

Qin Yihe gazed at him with a dark, penetrating gaze, lowering his head to tease open his zipper with his teeth.

Pei Chang was flustered beyond words, yet his body trembled uncontrollably with excitement. His bright, feverish eyes fixed intently on Qin Yihe.

    "Ah!"

He arched his back, pushing Qin Yihe’s head downward, his feet tensing, eyes wet and red.

The pleasure coursing through his body invaded every part of him. Pei Chang wanted to scream recklessly!

But he was still innocent, still ashamed, so he could only bite his lip, panting softly.

The hands gripping Pei Chang’s buttocks slid upward, caressing his waist and back.

The sharp nails were carefully retracted, moving from Pei Chang’s smooth skin to the protruding bones, the gentle touch filled with tender devotion.

    Pei Chang was too thin.

That illness had not only taken away Pei Chang’s long-standing "stubborn ailments" but also sapped most of his life force, as if a large piece of flesh had been torn from him.

Feather-light kisses traveled inch by inch to the base of Pei Chang’s thighs.

Pei Chang’s face flushed even deeper red at such tender treatment.

He watched as that mouth kissed him again and again, as if unfazed by any mess, filled with profound tenderness and care.

Pei Chang pressed his lips together, the corners of his eyes tinged with a dreamy, youthful flush, so wet it seemed tears might fall.

"Qin Yihe," he said, opening his mouth. "Keep kissing me."

Qin Yihe glanced at him and dug his face in deeper.

Pei Chang tilted his head back, leaning against the door, his suit in disarray.

He was no longer the refined Pei Chang, the noble Pei Chang.

He was just a Pei Chang who wanted to be held tightly, to be loved.

    —

Fastening the finely crafted, luxury watch onto Qin Yihe’s wrist, Pei Chang looked at it with satisfaction and couldn’t resist placing a kiss on it.

His hair was still glistening with sweat, his skin tinged a light pink. His loosened tie hung around his neck, and his shirt was slightly rumpled, pulled out from his pants.

Yet he didn’t appear disheveled; instead, in his state of utter relaxation, he seemed effortlessly alluring.

"Qin Yihe, my number is in there."

He leaned against Qin Yihe’s chest, holding Qin Yihe’s hand, showing him how to call.

"As long as you call me, I will always answer."

He held Qin Yihe’s hand, lowering his head to kiss it several times.

These gaunt, scarred hands, with their frighteningly sharp nails, grotesque and threatening, belonged to a horrific, eerie creature.

Yet Pei Chang was utterly captivated by these hands.

He loved holding them, either cradling them or lacing their fingers together, always kissing and caressing them, holding onto them even while asleep.

If not for the harsh scars left by handcuffs, Pei Chang would have gladly cuffed them together with his own at all times.

    "Mm."

    Qin Yihe responded.

That single hoarse syllable made Pei Chang's heart swell with satisfaction.

He closed his eyes, as if immersed in a lovely dream he never wanted to wake from, content and ready to drift into slumber.

But the moment his eyes shut, his body was suddenly scooped up into the air.

Pei Chang opened his eyes, gazing at Qin Yihe bewilderedly.

    "What’s wrong?"

Qin Yihe set him on the dining table and reached out to caress his cheek.

Pei Chang looked up at Qin Yihe, only to see him slowly walking toward the kitchen.

His heart jumped, swelling until it felt ready to burst.

Then, he touched his own face, the sharp angles of his gaunt face making his cheekbones starkly prominent.

Sitting on the table, he lowered his head and smiled, gently swinging his legs like a child.

Outside the window, the moonlight shone gentle and bright.

Suddenly, the sound of shattering came from the other room. Pei Chang lifted his head and quickly went to investigate.

Qin Yihe stood still, gazing vacantly at his own hands.

The floor was scattered with fragments, and the table was a mess.

    He had forgotten.

He was human, yet not quite human anymore.

After ten years of confinement, his limbs no longer moved with their former grace.

    Everything here felt unfamiliar.

Even the world no longer looked the same to him.

Pei Chang threw his arms tightly around Qin Yihe’s waist and said, "It’s all right, really. I’m not hungry."

Qin Yihe looked down at him, silent, and gently stroked his cheek.

Yet Pei Chang felt his insides ache anew.

He could no longer bear even a hint of sorrow in Qin Yihe’s eyes.

Whenever Qin Yihe looked at him that way, it felt as though a thousand sharp arrows were piercing Pei Chang’s heart and lungs.

"Tomorrow, I’ll call them back—to clean, tidy up, and prepare three meals a day. Okay?"

Pei Chang looked up at Qin Yihe, without blinking.

He didn’t want anyone else to enter this space again.

He could even remain inside, not opening the door or the windows.

If possible, he was willing to decay here together with Qin Yihe.

But Qin Yihe didn’t want that.

A place without sunlight was too dark.

Qin Yihe hoisted Pei Chang onto the counter and kissed his lips.

The intimate kiss settled Pei Chang’s heart, and he immediately wrapped his arms around Qin Yihe’s neck.

Their slippery tongues tangled, the messy kiss lingering and unwilling to end.

The night was thick and intoxicating.

7008 crouched on the floor, listening to the heavy breathing nearby while staring vacantly up at the sky.

    —

Special Assistant Sun had been noticing new marks on Pei Chang’s body every day lately.

Sometimes they were teeth marks, other times love bites.

He didn’t want to snoop into his boss’s private life, but those obvious marks demanded attention so boldly that it was hard to ignore.

Though this version of Pei Chang seemed more alive and less frosty—no longer a distant, untouchable statue—it didn’t make him any easier to get close to.

Instead, rumors of "keeping a cherished lover hidden" circulating privately made Pei Chang seem even more puzzling and mysterious.

More importantly, Pei Chang had started declining many pointless social engagements, keeping a low profile and refusing visitors.

Those bright red love marks didn’t make Pei Chang seem more tolerant or gentle; instead, they accentuated his ruthless and distant demeanor.

After all, the old Pei Chang treated everyone with the same indifference—no one could win his favor. But now that someone had melted the prickly ice surrounding him, Pei Chang’s usual aloofness seemed even more cruel and unfeeling.

Even those with little connection to the Pei Group had grown curious about Pei Chang.
