Chapter 8 Unacceptable
byChapter 8: Unbearable
Chubby really did take him to a place like a castle.
It was a large resort in the central city district called Rose Bible.
"My dear little prince, isn't it perfect for you?" Chubby said proudly. "You are a beautiful Chinese rose, and this is the largest rose garden in the central city district."
It was very beautiful and luxurious, but Jing Miao felt a bit scared.
He suddenly wanted to go home very much.
"No, can't go back." He hugged his legs and sat trembling in the seat. "Brother doesn't want me anymore."
The chubby pigeon was infected by his sorrowful mood, and its cute AI voice automatically switched to a comfort mode: "Don't cry, my lovely little darling, you're breaking Chubby's heart."
"I'm scared. Brother doesn't want me anymore. He's going to bring another Omega home." Jing Miao sobbed and sniffled, hesitating to get off the personal transporter for a long time.
Upon hearing this, the chubby pigeon became indignant: "How could there be such an outrageous Alpha? Abandoning such a beautiful and lovely Omega? Don't be afraid, my little princess. We can file a complaint against him for partner abandonment at the government hall. Would you like to change your destination?"
Complaint? What does 'complaint' mean? Does it mean Brother will be punished?
Jing Miao shook his head: "I'll stay here."
"Alright, little angel. Please take your belongings with you."
Jing Miao stroked the smooth pigeon head of the personal transporter, feeling very reluctant: "Can you stay with me?"
Chubby regretfully turned its neck: "I'm sorry, my dear little princess. Chubby needs to return to the self-service station and await the next passenger's summons. If you need me again next time, remember to input Chubby's number to summon me."
The little pigeon headed for the nearest station and disappeared from Jing Miao's sight.
"But... but I don't know how to input the number." The boy squatted sadly at the entrance of Rose Bible, tears hitting the ground.
He sniffled, stood up, and mustered the courage to walk into Rose Bible.
Xi Siyan easily traced Jing Miao's route.
He had rented a personal transporter. Through the transporter's location, he discovered that Jing Miao had arrived at Rose Bible.
That was a place of extravagant revelry in the wealthy district of the central city.
Xi Siyan drew a sharp breath.
Jing Miao carefully took out his ID card and another card, pointed to the last item on the price list, and said, "Hello, I want that small room for 4,999 gold."
Xi Siyan's wallet contained just over five thousand gold in total. Renting the personal transporter and this one room took all his money.
Jing Miao felt very panicked but didn't know where else to go. His money was only enough for him to sleep for this one night; he didn't even have money for food.
The board clearly listed: Low-level buffet, 888 gold/person.
Jing Miao placed the five thousand gold on the front desk table and whispered, "Thank you."
_This was clearly a high-level Omega, yet he wanted a low-level room?_
Jing Miao thought the price tiers were based on quality, just like the vegetables Grandma bought. The freshest produce of the day would be 100 gold more expensive than yesterday's leftovers.
"Grandma, then what kind of produce do we eat?"
Aunt Jiang peeled fruit for him, smiling kindly: "Our Miao Miao eats only the best."
Now that he had left Brother, he could only have the worst.
"Are you sure you want the low-level room for 4,999?" the attendant inquired. "You seem to be an Omega with a relatively high pheromone level. Staying in the same area with lower-level Alphas and Omegas might be quite uncomfortable." _The other Alphas and Omegas staying there will be uncomfortable, and you will be too_, the attendant thought to herself.
Jing Miao blinked, his face showing confusion.
He didn't understand.
What was high-level? What was low-level?
Jing Miao shook his head: "I want the 4,999 room, thank you, sister."
Being sweetly called 'sister' by such a cute and beautiful Omega made the attendant overjoyed: "Alright, I'll check you in right away. Would you like to purchase a dinner voucher for the high-level area as well?"
Jing Miao looked at the price of 1,688 and shook his head fearfully: "No, no, I don't want to eat."
"Okay, here is your room key. Please follow me this way."
A bellhop carried his small suitcase, leading him through a central courtyard several hundred square meters in size. The beautiful and exquisite garden divided the entire castle into two areas, with an invisible partition wall in the middle.
A group of elite nobles was just walking over from the high-level area. Jing Miao didn't understand social classes, but he could tell they seemed very wealthy.
That kind of uniform—he had seen his father wear more exquisite versions.
Ji Yue spotted the Omega heading towards the low-level area.
He was simply too beautiful, beautiful enough to be sitting in the garden sunbathing, not going to the low-level area.
Noticing his younger brother had stopped, Ji Yun also looked over.
The boy's figure gradually disappeared behind the partition wall; Ji Yun only had time to see his back.
"Is that really a low-level one?" Ji Yun murmured. "Seems unlikely..."
Ji Yue frowned slightly: "Let's go, Brother."
Jing Miao lay on the bed, his whole body burning up.
The unfamiliar pheromones all around him were pervasive, making him feel terrible all over.
The bed wasn't soft enough; the quilt was warm but particularly heavy, unlike the soft, cloud-like silk quilt at home.
All of this he could endure.
The smell was the most terrifying of all.
There was no trace of Brother's scent, nor were the pheromones gentle like Mom and Dad's. The air was filled with stinging sensations like needle pricks.
Jing Miao regretted it; he wanted to go home.
He curled up on the bed, wrapping himself in the quilt. Even in the enclosed space, his own floral scent still tangled and fought with other pheromones. He cried and murmured: "Brother, Brother."
"Damn it! What's wrong with your villa! Letting someone of such a high level check in, do you want us to suffer to death?" All the guests in the entire low-level area started causing a commotion.
"I'm a mid-level Alpha, and I can't stand it now. What about those lower than me?"
"Refund! Compensate us!"
"The room dividers in the low-level zone can only block mid- and low-level pheromones. You have to do something! I'm suffocating!"
The manager, along with an ashen-faced attendant, kept knocking on Jing Miao's door. "Sir! Sir, please open the door!"
Jing Miao hid under the blanket, drenched in sweat, even his hearing was dulled.
"Wow, trouble's brewing. Today a high-level Omega checked into the low-level zone of Rose Scripture, and now the whole area's in chaos," an Alpha walked in, gossiping. "They've surrounded the service desk over there—it looks like a full-blown riot."
Ji Yue froze. "A high-level Omega?"
"Yeah," he nodded. "Strange, isn't it? And I heard his pheromones aren't even leaking—just genetic suppression alone has thrown the entire zone into disarray."
Ji Yun also frowned. "That powerful?"
The Alpha crossed his legs lazily. "Tsk, such a high-level Omega… I really want to see what they look like. Probably just my type."
The Ji brothers exchanged a glance, both almost immediately thinking of the boy they'd glimpsed in the hallway earlier.
Ji Yun narrowed his eyes. "Interesting. Too bad we can't go over now—it'd just make the low-level zone even more chaotic. Otherwise..."
"Xi Siyan?" Ji Yue suddenly stood up, catching sight of Xi Siyan's hurried figure through the lounge glass.
"Who?!" Several nobles also rose to their feet, crowding toward the glass.
"It really is the Lord's son. What's he doing at Rose Scripture? This scientist never shows up in places like this."
"What's he doing? He's heading into the low-level zone?"
"Is he crazy? His pheromone level will blow that place up!"
Ji Yue stared blankly as the man's figure swiftly disappeared down the corridor. Without hesitation, he chased after him, the others following in confusion.
Security stopped them at the partition line. "Honored guests, that is the low-level zone. You cannot proceed."
"The one who just passed through is also a high-level Alpha!" Ji Yue said urgently.
The security guard replied expressionlessly, "That gentleman is here to resolve the current situation."
Ji Yun speculated, "Did he bring that blocker?"
Not long after, they saw Xi Siyan again.
The man had bundled a boy into his own coat, holding him tightly against his chest as he quickly emerged from the low-level zone.
A service attendant followed behind, carrying a suitcase.
Ji Yue recognized it at once—it was the same Omega's luggage from two hours ago.
Back in the high-level zone, Jing Miao clearly felt the surrounding discomfort dissipate completely.
He opened his eyes groggily, seeing Xi Siyan's anxious face.
His brother was always calm and gentle—this was the first time Jing Miao had seen him so frantic.
"Brother," the boy instinctively reached out to wrap his arms around his neck, burying himself in his embrace to absorb more of that safe, familiar scent. "Brother… are you my brother?"
Xi Siyan lowered his head to kiss his ear, murmuring against his cheek to soothe him. "Yes, brother's here to take you home. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, baby."
Gan Zisen also rushed into the lobby, encountering the unconscious Omega and the ashen-faced Alpha.
He quickly approached Jing Miao, feeling his forehead, then commanded seriously, "Something's off. Find a room first—he needs a calming shot."
"Okay, okay."
A higher-up from the hotel hurried over, wiping sweat as he personally led the way. "Gentlemen, this way, please. We've prepared the best room for you, and the Isolation Barrier is already activated."
Ji Yue and the others stared blankly as Xi Siyan and the Health Department director's son fussed anxiously over the Omega whose face they couldn't see. Once the group had disappeared, the hotel manager even began directing adjustments to guest accommodations.
"God, what kind of scene is this?"
"No idea."
The manager noticed them and approached apologetically. "Mr. Ji, hello. An Omega here has had a sudden health episode requiring zone isolation. Your room happens to be on the sixth floor and may be affected. Would it be acceptable to arrange a suite for you on the fifth floor instead? It's the same tier, and we'll compensate you with an extra bottle of 100,000-gold wine."
Ji Yun narrowed his eyes, then smiled. "Of course. For my own sake, I have no reason to refuse."
The hotel manager sighed in relief. "We'll arrange for a beta to assist with your move right away."
"Wait a moment," Ji Yue stopped the manager. "May I ask what exactly happened? We should have the right to know about sudden incidents as well."
The hotel manager weighed his words carefully before replying, "It was an error by our front desk staff—a high-level Omega was allowed to check into the low-level zone. He…" The manager paused, "…he experienced some physical discomfort and has already been taken away by his partner."
Ji Yue froze, his usually cool face showing disbelief. "Partner?!"
"Yes, sir."
He was stunned.
