Chapter 21
byChapter 21
The album contained all kinds of photos of muscular men, some clothed and some shirtless.
Then again, it wasn't like there was much difference between wearing clothes and not.
Besides that, these photos shared another common trait: no faces, but incredible physiques—not just chiseled abs and strong arms, but also full, impressive chest muscles.
The photos were so embarrassing and showed so much skin that anyone would blush after one look.
If a cyber police officer saw them, they'd probably arrest him on the spot for having indecent photos.
After all, these photos were so embarrassing that they were only suitable for private appreciation, not public sharing—otherwise, you'd be mortified if someone found out.
That's why Song Nian had gathered all these embarrassing photos into a separate album and set it as a private album, requiring a password to open, so no one would accidentally find it.
After laying down his harsh words, he remembered the album, but couldn't back out, so he told himself that Li Yanchuan probably wouldn't look through it.
When the other was about to open the album, his heart suddenly skipped a beat.
But that flash of nervousness looked different to Li Yanchuan—he thought Song Nian was keeping something from him.
Though, from a certain angle, it really was a secret.
When he heard the demand to open the album, Song Nian was stuck.
If he opened it, he'd lose all dignity; if he didn't, he'd definitely be misunderstood.
As he hesitated, Li Yanchuan's harsh voice echoed in his ears again. Driven by that yell, he threw dignity out the window.
Then, as if facing the executioner, he typed in the password and shoved the phone right in his face.
Sure enough, when he saw the album's contents, Li Yanchuan visibly froze for two seconds, completely stunned.
Then, a faint blush slowly spread over his cheeks.
Even though he tried to keep a straight face, the redness at the base of his ears gave him away.
"How—how can you have these on your phone? You're shameless!"
He looked away, flustered, and threw the phone back in a mix of anger and embarrassment.
Seeing Li Yanchuan get shy, Song Nian's embarrassment completely disappeared.
After all, if you're not embarrassed, then the other person is the one who's embarrassed.
Is he really that innocent?
As if finally finding a handle on him, a sly gleam flashed in Song Nian's eyes, and he smugly lifted his imaginary tail.
"Why can't I keep them? I like this kind of thing!"
He raised an eyebrow and deliberately pushed the phone closer to the other's face, so he could get a better look.
"Move it!"
"No!"
Suddenly their roles were reversed—now Li Yanchuan was the shy one.
The screen, covered in bare flesh, was practically pressed against his face, filling his entire view. Li Yanchuan, who had always been so pure and restrained, had never seen anything like it, and his ears turned bright red.
Song Nian, of course, noticed this change and mischievously inched closer, teasing the man to no end.
"Alright, I'll stop teasing you."
Figuring that if he kept it up, the guy might really blow up, Song Nian knew when to stop and pulled the phone away.
"Shameless."
Once the wall of muscle was finally moved away, Li Yanchuan lowered his head, trying hard to keep his cool. But his rebuke carried no weight.
"Still want to check me, hubby?"
Hearing this, Song Nian blinked rapidly and leaned in again, like an inquisitive bird asking its companion "Are you really crying?"
Whether it was because of the photos just now or something else, Li Yanchuan's face flushed with heat again. He pushed him away with a stern face.
"If there's no problem, I'll find a chance to hand the USB drive to Li Wenguang?"
"Yeah, suit yourself."
Probably afraid that the person next to him would do something else shameless, the moment he finished speaking, he pushed his wheelchair and left the study.
—Not kicking Song Nian out, but choosing to leave himself.
A bit of a hasty retreat.
"Hubby, can I still come into the study from now on?"
Song Nian called out toward his back.
That figure paused but didn't turn around.
Then, a voice as light as a feather drifted over:
"Yeah."
————
According to plan, Song Nian waited two days before handing over the USB drive.
"Song Nian: I'll find a chance today to have someone deliver the USB drive to you. Be ready to receive it."
"Li Wenguang: Nian Nian, you've worked hard."
"Song Nian: This person is someone I managed to contact, but to be safe, give him more hush money. Don't let word leak out."
"Li Wenguang: Got it, I understand."
With the affirmative response, Song Nian prepared the USB drive satisfactorily.
Then he turned and handed it to the courier who had come to pick it up, and gave instructions:
"Brother, when you deliver it, remember to wear a hat, pull the brim low, don't speak, just keep staring at the recipient."
"Do as I say, and he'll give you a tip."
The courier, who had never heard such a request from a client, stood there speechless.
And this is his reaction after delivering it and actually getting a 10,000 yuan tip: ??
Li Wenguang, thinking he was so clever, had no idea he had been completely deceived. After getting the USB drive, he started dreaming of taking down Li Yanchuan, walking right into the carefully laid trap.
"Delivered?"
When the man came back, Li Yanchuan glanced over at him.
"Yeah, and I hooked the delivery guy up with a little extra."
Song Nian held his head high, like a hero who had rid the world of a menace.
"Don't you want to ask me what's messed up in the docs?"
Just as he was about to go upstairs, Li Yanchuan's voice came from behind him.
In that fake batch of documents, the key data was swapped out. If Li Wenguang tried to use it as a basis to strike, he'd be the one taking the hit.
Li Yanchuan thought that although Song Nian had sent out the false intel, he could have found out the issue first and secretly tipped off Li Wenguang.
That way he'd win Li Yanchuan's trust and keep Li Wenguang from getting burned.
But he didn't do that.
Not only did he not try to dig into it, but after finishing, he acted like he was heading upstairs.
"It doesn't matter to me. After all, it's fake. Long as it makes Li Wenguang bite the dust, that's all that matters."
Hearing this, Song Nian stopped and looked back with wide eyes.
Those bright eyes sparkled with sincerity, clear as a polished mirror.
He knew whatever those docs were, they were part of Li Yanchuan's scheme and would definitely make Li Wenguang pay.
So what exactly was wrong with them didn't matter to him.
What mattered was that he'd successfully helped Li Yanchuan screw over Li Wenguang.
Li Yanchuan was quiet for a long while after hearing that.
Then he looked away, dropped it, and switched topics:
"Come here."
Confused by the order, Song Nian still did as he was told.
"Sit down."
The guy in the wheelchair pointed at the sofa, his voice as flat as tap water, revealing no emotion.
Song Nian sat up straight again, back rigid, hands on his knees, looking composed but freaking out inside, like a kid who just got caught and was kept after class by the teacher.
*Why's he so serious? Did I mess up? Is he gonna grill me?*
He pursed his lips, blinked fast, and his brain went into overdrive.
But weirdly, after that, Li Yanchuan didn't do anything else. He just sat there quietly, reading a report, taking sips of tea now and then.
He didn't even glance at Song Nian once.
Leaving Song Nian completely baffled.
Summoned for no reason and then ignored, he figured it was a joke and tried to sneak off.
But the moment he moved, the man's voice drifted over:
"Don't move. Stay there."
A sharp eagle-like glance, loaded with pressure, startling the caught Song Nian, making him freeze, and he silently went back to his previous position.
He kept his face blank, acting like nothing happened.
But inside, he was losing his mind:
*He wasn't even looking at me—how did he spot me moving?!*
After sitting stiffly for a while, with Li Yanchuan still not acknowledging him and focusing on work, he cautiously asked:
"Babe, you need something from me?"
"Yeah."
Li Yanchuan said in a low voice without looking up.
"What is it?"
But the other guy stayed quiet, not answering.
This only confused Song Nian more. He scratched his head, unable to figure out what he meant.
*He tells me not to leave, but won't say why. Would it kill him to talk?*
Just as he was grumbling to himself, the doorbell rang.
Right then, Li Yanchuan finally did something.
He put down the report and jerked his chin toward the door, signaling Song Nian to get it.
Bewildered, Song Nian walked to the front door. When he saw the person on the video intercom, he was slightly surprised.
On the screen was a woman—elegant, composed, perfectly made up.
And the first thing she said was:
"Hello, is Mr. Li in?"
*She's here for Li Yanchuan? But the original story never said he was close to any woman, did it?*
He froze for a second, then snapped out of it and opened the door and invited her in.
The woman gave him a warm, polished smile, nodded slightly, and then entered the house in her high heels.
"Mr. Li, as per your instructions, we've brought everything. Do you want us to bring it in now?"
When she got to the living room, she asked respectfully.
Mm-hmm.
Li Yanchuan nodded.
What?
Hearing this, Song Nian, completely out of the loop, stood there dazed, but soon Li Yanchuan gestured toward the sofa.
—Sit down. Got it.
Without needing to be told, he tactfully sat down beside him.
The woman clapped her hands, and soon dozens of people swarmed in from outside.
Along with them came several racks loaded with clothes.
Exactly like the TV scenes where rich people have clothes brought to their homes.
They all wore matching uniforms and white gloves, moving in perfect unison—highly trained and professional.
They bowed in the direction of the two men and politely greeted them.
So the "preparations" she mentioned were just clothes.
Makes sense, given Li Yanchuan's current situation, he really wasn't in any condition to go out shopping.
Given the habits and status of the rich, the only way was to have staff bring items to the door for personal selection.
But why did he keep me here while he's buying clothes?
Song Nian thought curiously.
But the next second, he understood why.
"Go pick whatever clothes you like."
Li Yanchuan said.
"Huh? Why do I need to pick?"
Why should I be the one choosing? He almost thought he was hearing things and pointed at himself, unsure.
Unexpectedly, Li Yanchuan looked at him like he was an idiot:
"I'm buying clothes for you—you expect me to pick them out?"
