Chapter 31
byChapter 31
Ruan Yunchu usually came across as cold, sitting in his wheelchair looking beautiful and fragile and seemingly harmless, but piss him off and he turned into a real beast.
Worried about his condition, Yan Zhuo didn’t dare use force against him. He could only hold him without fighting back, feeling his neck get bitten open as blood poured out.
He figured the kid would cool off after a while, but Ruan Yunchu didn’t seem about to stop. Instead, he kept biting deeper and deeper. Afraid that the other might chip his teeth if this continued, Yan Zhuo finally couldn’t help but reach up and grab his cheeks, forcing him to stop.
When he pried the omega’s face apart by the cheeks, his expression was still fierce, like a little beast with a serious grudge. A trace of blood lingered on his pearly white teeth. Meeting Yan Zhuo’s dark gaze, he even curled his lips into a provocative smirk and licked his teeth with the tip of his tongue.
The veins on Yan Zhuo’s temples throbbed, and for a moment it gave him a splitting headache.
“I never knew you were so childish before.”
Ruan Yunchu ignored him. After that little fit, he seemed exhausted. Without even looking at the wound, he leaned his head onto the other’s uninjured shoulder and ordered matter-of-factly, “Carry me to bed. I’m sleepy.”
Yan Zhuo’s neck hurt like hell, but he truly couldn’t bring himself to abandon him now—especially since he hadn’t gotten his revenge yet.
Though aggrieved, he obediently carried the young man back to the bedroom, gently placed him on the bed, and then turned to enter the bathroom.
Seeing the terrifying, gnarly bite mark on his own neck in the mirror, he let out an amused sigh. He kept thinking about that fierce, provocative glare the kid gave him, but he just thought it was adorable.
Really, of all things, why did he have to bite him?
He hastily wiped away the blood, tidied himself up, washed up, and walked out casually with only a towel around his waist.
But when he reached the bedside, he saw that the person on the bed had his eyes closed, as if asleep. But he didn’t rush; he slowly leaned down to study his sleeping face.
The young man’s breathing was steady and even, with no sign of anything unusual. Still, Yan Zhuo let out a soft chuckle.
“Stop pretending, little master. I can tell at a glance whether you’re asleep or not.”
“…”
Two seconds later, Ruan Yunchu opened his eyes, and sure enough, there was no trace of drowsiness in them.
“I need to get to bed early.”
Yan Zhuo snorted with a laugh. “It’s still early.”
“The doctor advised me to be asleep by eleven. You’ve already wasted twenty minutes of my time.” Ruan Yunchu’s tone was calm.
Yan Zhuo, who usually cared so much about his health, frowned instinctively at this and checked the time.
A little past ten.
He immediately flashed a grin, threw back the covers and slid in, pulling the young man into a full embrace.
“No problem. There’s time. Let me help you sleep, young master.”
Ruan Yunchu hadn’t expected him to be so shameless. He immediately tried to push him away. “Piss off. If you start, it’ll drag on till dawn.”
“No, no, no.” Yan Zhuo reached up to stroke his back, pulling him tightly into his arms. He lowered his head to pepper his cheek and ear with kisses. “I’ll make it quick.”
Ruan Yunchu’s face flushed red. No matter how he pushed, he couldn’t budge him. He fumed, “Bullshit!”
“I promise, I’ll have you asleep before eleven.”
Having said that, Yan Zhuo didn’t waste any more time. Just as the young man opened his mouth to curse, he grabbed the back of his neck and kissed him senseless. When he felt the body tremble slightly and respond, he promptly threw off the covers and slipped down between his legs, hurrying on to the next step.
Ruan Yunchu couldn’t help tilting his head back, strangled sounds slipping through his gritted teeth. He was almost driven out of his mind by the man.
Bastard!
“…”
Yan Zhuo let loose thoroughly. By the time it was over, the time had long passed their agreed limit. But he didn’t think he had broken his promise—after all, the young master had already passed out from exhaustion; he just hadn’t finished yet.
After it was done, he held the person in his arms and finally fell asleep in contentment. Even in his dreams, he was wrapped in that rich sweet fragrance, lingering all around him, letting him sink endlessly into bliss.
After a while, morning came. Sunlight seeped in through the gaps in the curtains.
Yan Zhuo felt the person in his arms stirring, but he was too sleepy to open his eyes. He held the figure tightly, vaguely sensing that he had been kicked.
Must be an illusion.
The sudden motion made him blink his eyes open, confusion flickering in them.
As soon as he did, he met Ruan Yunchu’s icy stare.
“Oh, you’re awake, baby?” Yan Zhuo smiled at him, his eyes brimming with adoration.
“…”
Ruan Yunchu’s face was expressionless. Out of nowhere, he reached out and pinched Yan Zhuo’s side. The man’s body tensed instinctively, and he couldn’t help sucking in a sharp breath.
“First thing in the morning, kicking and pinching—was I really that bad in bed?”
Ruan Yunchu had no idea how the man could twist everything back to bed matters. He closed his eyes tightly and said coldly, “If I were able to kick you, you’d forget about ever sleeping in my bed again.”
Yan Zhuo chuckled and didn’t push further. He reached out to grab his waist, took a deep sniff of the scent on his neck, and noticed a few ambiguous hickeys on the fair skin. A sense of satisfaction rose in his heart.
“Rest assured, young master. I’ll make sure only you can kick me out of bed one day.”
“…”
Ruan Yunchu didn’t want to deal with him. He simply tried to push him away.
“Get up.”
“Come on, there’s nothing to do today, right? How about the young master chat with me a bit?” Yan Zhuo clung to him reluctantly, like a stubborn, clingy big dog that simply couldn’t be pushed away.
“I have nothing to talk about with you.”
At such bluntness, Yan Zhuo narrowed his eyes and couldn’t help dredging up old grievances. “I know. You and those Ming brothers have plenty to talk about. You can’t wait to hand out all kinds of things to them. What am I? Just a bed warmer.”
He deliberately said this, but Ruan Yunchu showed no reaction. He glanced at him, his gaze seeming to say, “You already know,” which only made Yan Zhuo feel even more wronged.
“Your heart is so cold.”
Ruan Yunchu sighed softly. He didn’t deny it. But feeling the rare warmth of the body beside him, he couldn’t help wanting to smile.
“Right back at you.”
“What do you mean, right back at me? Haven’t I been good enough to the young master? Even if you wanted the stars in the sky, I’d pluck them down for you.”
Ruan Yunchu lowered his eyes. “Let’s talk about something practical. I’m planning to cooperate with the Ming family. What do you think?”
“Cooperate on what? The floating medical vehicle? I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Yan Zhuo’s tone was sarcastic, instinctively opposing without thinking.
He thought of the young master of the Ming family cheerfully holding the young master's instructions to come asking for flower seeds, and his heart ached. He also thought of the young master taking that Ming Yuan around the house, staying alone with him for so long, and his chest felt like it would explode with emotion, making him unbearably uncomfortable.
Ruan Yunchu didn't go into detail about the cooperation, only saying, "I've investigated it; the Ming family is very suitable. They have cooperation with the military department and at least they're well respected in District A."
Seeing that he was serious, Yan Zhuo hemmed and hawed for a while before muttering under his breath, "You've already decided, what else can I say?"
"If I cooperate with the Ming family later, I'll need some more specific information. You go dig that up for me."
"..." Yan Zhuo put on airs again, hugging him with a soft snort, "I don't want to go investigate my love rivals."
"Who is your love rival?" Ruan Yunchu said helplessly.
"Both brothers are." Yan Zhuo bit his ear hard, clearly very angry.
Ruan Yunchu didn't force him. After a moment of silence, he said, "Alright, I'll send someone else. If they're indeed suitable, Ming Yuan is indeed a suitable cooperation partner and a good bedmate too."
As soon as those words came out, Yan Zhuo's face immediately darkened.
Even though he knew Ruan Yunchu said it on purpose to piss him off, he still couldn't help being furious.
"Are you trying to drive me crazy?"
Ruan Yunchu kept a straight face and even looked up at him with a sincere expression, "You said you didn't want to go."
"I—"
Yan Zhuo stared at him, his eyes dark, his heart full of bitterness. He just wanted the young master to comfort him a little; why was that so hard?
Their eyes locked, and in the standoff, he finally let out a heavy sigh, pulling the man in his arms tighter in frustration.
"If I don't make it to 100, it'll be because you pissed me off!"
Ruan Yunchu gave him a flat look and was about to speak when Yan Zhuo silenced him with a kiss.
Yan Zhuo nibbled at his soft lip, muttering through the kiss, "Don't want to hear you talk anymore; every word is worse than the one before."
"..."
Ruan Yunchu frowned slightly, didn't try to speak again, struggled twice but couldn't break free, and just let him do what he wanted.
Yan Zhuo was indeed very efficient. Within a week, he compiled all the undisclosed info on the Ming family and brought it to Ruan Yunchu.
When he barged into the study, Ruan Yunchu had a guest.
Spotting an old man he'd never seen before, Yan Zhuo raised an eyebrow slightly, first looking at Ruan Yunchu, "Young master, I have an important document."
Ruan Yunchu glanced at him lightly and nodded, "This is Mr. Peng."
Yan Zhuo stared for a few seconds then broke into a warm smile and walked over, "Hello, Mr. Peng."
Peng Yun nodded slightly, with a lukewarm attitude, and turned to Ruan Yunchu, "Is this the bodyguard who was protecting you closely a while ago?"
"Yes."
"He seems like a promising young man. How old is he?"
The more Yan Zhuo listened, the more something felt off. He frowned, answered truthfully, and stood there like a statue, only hearing the two discuss the new alliance policies and the front-line situation.
An hour later, Mr. Peng finally slowly left the Ruan residence.
Only then did Yan Zhuo get a chance. On the way back to the backyard, he pushed the wheelchair to the edge of the flower garden, crouched in front of Ruan Yunchu's legs, buried his head in his lap, and hugged him, not moving.
"Young master, who is he?"
His tone was thick with jealousy and discontent, making even Ruan Yunchu, who had long been aware of his overly strong possessiveness, find it incredible.
"That's the father of Lieutenant General Peng Zhongying."
Yan Zhuo squinted and lifted his head, "Oh, what did he come for?"
"Casual talk." Ruan Yunchu gradually lost patience, his face turning cold, "What kind of attitude is that? Since when do you have the right to interrogate me?"
As soon as Ruan Yunchu hardened, Yan Zhuo retreated wisely, "It's just that I'm afraid some old man popping up out of nowhere might deceive our young master."
"Are you treating me like an idiot?"
"Of course not..."
"..."
Yan Zhuo's cuddling didn't get a word out of him; he didn't even know how the two had met. Soon after, Ruan Yunchu returned to the room for lessons, leaving Yan Zhuo shut outside, scratching at the door for a long time before leaving.
The temperature in District A gradually rose, and the backyard flower garden became even more dazzling and vibrant. Yan Zhuo walked through the long row of flowers and entered the tool shed behind.
Five minutes later.
A low-profile hover car stopped at an alley entrance two streets away from the back of the Ruan residence. Someone strode over, opened the car door, and got in.
Old Master Peng sat calmly in the back seat. Seeing the person, he immediately lowered his eyes, a trace of respect appearing on his composed and calm face.
"You came out so fast; won't they become suspicious inside?"
At that moment, Yan Zhuo had shed his carefree attitude from the Ruan residence; there was not a trace of emotion in his deep, dark eyes.
"Enough talk. What is it?"
