Chapter 110: Yan Huaixuan Was Behind It

Shen Lian's lips curled slightly, thinking this spot was pretty great—he could even see everything around him.

A mischievous idea suddenly struck him, just as Yan Huaixuan was about to find an inn.

    "I want to go shopping."

Yan Huaixuan knew exactly what he was up to.

Other people's eyes were already on Yan Huaixuan.

For some reason, even though he looked plain and dressed simply, he somehow drew people's eyes.

He had this cold, refined, noble air about him.

Until they saw him set a scrawny little cat on his head.

    Everyone choked on their words.

This guy was human, and he actually let a cat with zero spiritual power stand on his head?

And the man didn't seem annoyed at all—if anything, he looked fond, letting the cat sprawl out on top of his head.

A perfectly normal guy, just with a screw loose.

The others looked at Yan Huaixuan with pity in their eyes.

Yan Huaixuan didn't hesitate at Shen Lian's request. "Alright," he said.

Then he carried Shen Lian down the street.

At first, Shen Lian just wanted to mess with Yan Huaixuan, but slowly he noticed the other cultivators' looks turning contemptuous.

Shen Lian suddenly realized the Taichu Realm wasn't like his world.

Back in his world, most people loved cats and dogs.

But here, cultivators valued strength above everything, and no one was allowed to sit on a cultivator's head.

    Let alone a little cat.

He'd thought people would just look at Yan Huaixuan with curiosity or confusion.

He didn't expect to see that kind of look.

He parted his lips. "Put me down."

Yan Huaixuan said, "Don't worry about them. I don't care."

But Shen Lian started jumping down right away. "Mind your own business. It's not like I care what they think. And even if you did, I wouldn't care. I'm just tired of lying here."

With that, he hopped onto Yan Huaixuan's shoulder.

Yan Huaixuan's heart softened at Shen Lian's words.

Shen Lian had always been like that—cold on the surface, warm underneath.

And it wasn't until he'd hurt someone as good as Shen Lian that he realized it.

A flicker of bitterness passed through Yan Huaixuan's eyes, but he quickly hid it.

He gently rubbed Shen Lian's head. "Still want to look around?"

"No," Shen Lian said. He'd wanted to see Yan Huaixuan squirm, but this wasn't what he'd expected.

"Then let's head back and rest," Yan Huaixuan said, carrying Shen Lian back.

After getting a room at an inn, he set Shen Lian on the bed and sat on a chair to meditate.

Shen Lian, a cat barely two palms big, sprawled out across the whole bed.

He rested his head on his paws, frowned a little, and glanced at Yan Huaixuan.

He pursed his lips. "You can meditate on the bed. I'm not taking up that much space."

Yan Huaixuan froze. He stared hard at Shen Lian, only to see that after speaking, Shen Lian had squeezed his eyes shut, pretending to be asleep.

After a long pause, he got up.

Then Shen Lian felt himself being scooped up.

He said quickly, "I only said you could meditate on the bed. I didn't say you could hold me."

"I know," Yan Huaixuan chuckled. "Aren't you hungry?"

Hearing that, Shen Lian realized he was actually a little hungry.

He'd been a cultivator for so long that he'd almost forgotten what hunger felt like, so being a cat now, he hadn't really adjusted yet.

Only then did it hit him that he'd been hungry for a while now.

Yan Huaixuan had come prepared—he'd bought a bunch of food from the street.

In the blink of an eye, the table was full of food.

Shen Lian frowned. Was he supposed to eat like an animal now?

Yan Huaixuan then held him in his arms and brought a spoon right to his lips.

    Shen Lian felt embarrassed.

He was a grown man—how could he let someone feed him bite by bite?

    "I can do it myself."

But Yan Huaixuan held his paw. "But back then, you fed me the same way."

Shen Lian was taken aback, then quickly said, "That was back then, and you know it."

Yan Huaixuan didn't say anything else, but he didn't let go either—he just kept the spoon at Shen Lian's lips.

    Shen Lian: chew, chew, chew.

Watching Shen Lian obediently chew, Yan Huaixuan offered another spoonful.

He looked at the oblivious little cat in his arms.

    Just for a moment.

He thought that this way was fine too.

No need to worry about the Primordial Realm, or any of that past.

He and Shen Lian were still together, with nobody else around.

But it only lasted a moment.

Yan Huaixuan's gaze drifted over Shen Lian's features.

How could he stand to let this person be sad a second time?

Whatever Shen Lian wanted, he'd give him.

    No matter what.

Shen Lian suddenly noticed Yan Huaixuan spacing out, just as he'd worked up a good appetite.

So he called Yan Huaixuan twice, but the guy was still zoned out.

Shen Lian shot up and bonked Yan Huaixuan's head.

"What are you spacing out about?"

Yan Huaixuan snapped out of it. "Nothing."

"What do you want to eat?" Yan Huaixuan reached out his hand.

"That one," Shen Lian said without a beat of hesitation.

After all, Yan Huaixuan had offered to feed him—it wasn't like he'd asked.

Shen Lian felt totally at ease.

After he finished eating, Shen Lian started getting sleepy.

It had been way too long since he'd been a regular cat.

Shen Lian had forgotten his own nature—he got sleepy easily after eating, especially since this body was at its sleepiest.

Seeing the kitten's head start to droop mid-bite, Yan Huaixuan couldn't help but smile. He wiped the corner of Shen Lian's mouth and scooped up the kitten.

Shen Lian, still dozing off, warned, "Put me down over there. Don't come near me."

"Alright," Yan Huaixuan said in a low voice.

Shen Lian then tipped his head to the side and passed out.

Yan Huaixuan, though, didn't pay his words any mind. He lay on the bed with the kitten in his arms.

Shen Lian also didn't know that once he was asleep,

the kitten's form slowly grew bigger, until it revealed the young man's delicate, handsome face, along with that head of jet-black hair, spilling down and draping over both him and Yan Huaixuan.

Yan Huaixuan stroked Shen Lian's long hair, unable to get enough of it.

Ling Yun's eyes went wide, then he broke into a cold sweat—this couldn't be... his master's doing, could it?

But for now, the best move was to keep his distance.

Yan Huaixuan's hand slowly moved to Shen Lian's cheek, then gently tilted his chin up. Shen Lian stayed fast asleep.

His face was all peace and quiet.

Yan Huaixuan's gaze darkened, and he leaned in to kiss him.

He'd been wanting to do this for days.

When Shen Lian smiled, when Shen Lian's prank worked.

Even when Shen Lian was annoyed and chewed him out.

The more he thought about it, the less he could control himself.

He could feel the inner demon growing stronger with his desires.

In his sea of consciousness, the inner demon couldn't believe it when it realized its power had grown.

"Yan Huaixuan, you're a real hypocrite."

All that propriety and doctrine—thrown out the window without a second thought, huh?

Yan Huaixuan savored the lips of the person in his arms wantonly.

"If I were truly a gentleman, you wouldn't have appeared at all."
