Chapter 32: Rolanviette
byChapter 32: Rolanviette
Lu Lin'an's blood possesses the power to incite an immediate psychic riot—
The shadow of a light sword came from behind. Yun Huai quickly ducked to avoid it, while Eliad was nearly scared out of its wits.
Being a pure machine, Eliad was not affected by the blood. Rather than losing control, the clarity of watching the king being attacked was more terrifying and enraging for Eliad.
Yun Huai grabbed Eliad, tucking the orb under his arm, and with one hand he vaulted over a row of damaged seats, quickly running to a higher position.
Meanwhile, Lunen Holman, holding his light sword, slowly turned around in place.
Yun Huai could see fear filling his eyes. The guard chief's consciousness had not completely vanished; he still retained his sanity, but his actions and behavior were no longer under his control.
Guarding the royal family is the mission of the Ita, and drawing a sword against the king is more terrifying than death.
Eliad screamed in panic, "You! Have you all gone mad! Lunen, do you realize who you are attacking? You will be sent to a military tribunal by Xienna and executed!"
Yun Huai took a deep breath: "He has lost control too."
Eliad: "What?!"
Yun Huai's eyes moved to the area behind where Lunen was standing, where the culprit of this chaos had fallen.
"Lu Lin'an's blood causes psychic madness. Lunen was too close to the dispersed essence. They are under the influence of my 'lunch'," Yun Huai said, his fingertips emitting a faint white thread, "We need to retrieve the blood tube and completely seal it."
Eliad: "————"
Ah, damn alien monster! Such absurd things have never happened on the main star!
Just as Eliad was about to fly past Lunen to retrieve the tube containing Lu Lin'an's blood, he saw the guard chief's armor had completely transformed into battle mode.
The once slightly relaxed armor plates had now fully closed. Behind Lunen, four pairs of mechanical wings were slowly emerging.
The towering figure of the royal warrior rose into the air, the aftermath of his light sword sending some young military academy students flying.
He wasn't attacking Yun Huai; he was indiscriminately attacking, as if a stable force suddenly added a wildly aggressive, non-discriminatory attack gene.
Yun Huai's pupils contracted for a moment, his sharp gaze fixed on Lunen Holman.
The guard chief held a sword in one hand and a trembling, lethal primal energy gun in the other.
Eliad screamed and rushed forward, knocking Lunen's primal energy gun off course. The gun's sudden energy burst toppled one mech in the arena, and another mech seized the opportunity to launch a counterattack.
Yun Huai's lips pressed tightly together.
From a distance, Lunen Holman watched that quiet figure, his eyes filled with immense struggle. In a brief moment of self-control, he violently thrust his light sword towards himself.
Eliad exclaimed, "Holman!!"
Before Eliad's cry could fade, the motion of the royal guard chief suddenly froze in place, the sharp tip of the sword already embedded in his breastplate, with crimson blood slowly seeping out.
In the air, a faint, sharp scent spread, accompanied by fluttering ice crystals. The crystals, extremely cold, landed on Eliad's mechanical ears, causing it to shiver violently.
The energy orb slowly turned its head, vaguely seeing a thread of snow-white psychic energy continuously emitting cold white light. One end of the light was attached to the king's raised finger, and the other end firmly tied to the guard chief's wrist.
Yun Huai, standing at a higher vantage point overlooking the entire combat arena, slightly curled his fingers. Lunen's hand holding the sword followed, pulling the weapon out. The guard chief's pupils were violently trembling, a boiling hot rage constantly washing over his will, trying to seize primary control in his body.
He looked at the thread tied to his wrist and squeezed out a hoarse voice.
"...King."
After the sword was pulled out, Yun Huai abruptly raised his fingers, remotely flinging away Lunen's self-harming weapon.
The chaos in the arena was far from over. Yun Huai suddenly asked Eliad loudly, "How do I use the royal link to control the citizens?"
Eliad instinctively shouted, "You just need to open all your psychic power permissions!"
Lunen struggled to look at Eliad, uttering two 'no’s, but unfortunately, neither Yun Huai nor Eliad heard him.
Lunen clenched his teeth and closed his eyes, knowing that opening all links was unnecessary for this small venue; a small portion would suffice. Opening everything would allow the entire main star sector to feel the king's power!
But he no longer had the strength to speak. His psychic power suppressing Lu Lin'an's domineering essence was only a matter of seconds. Soon, the uncontrolled color returned to his eyes.
Meanwhile, Yun Huai, after fending off two more attacking military academy students, finally had time to mobilize the energy of his psychic sea.
Something in his mind seemed to be roaring and trembling. A psychic wave several meters high enveloped him, cold white droplets condensing on Yun Huai's fingertips and forehead. For a moment, he saw threads continuously stretching before his eyes.
——No.
The threads weren't real but rather a metaphor.
They represented his psychic power extending infinitely in the sea of his mind, above the waves and sea, restraining countless white light points.
It was like a complex and mysterious cosmic star chart, momentarily suppressed by an absolutely stable aura amidst the chaotic and restless moment.
A silent yet powerful force permeated every crazed Ita in the arena. Yun Huai lowered his finger, and a massive wave of energy, with the Military Academy as its epicenter, irresistibly swept outward.
In the hastily convened royal council, Xienna, who was discussing matters with others, suddenly stopped talking.
A second later, the beautiful young man with long white hair abruptly stood up. The others quickly reacted, holding their breath and feeling the urgent, faint breath in their minds.
At the Military Academy, Yun Huai sensed the sudden increase of countless light points in his hallucination, like a multitude of stars suddenly appearing on the sea of psychic power.
Without a word, in the eerie silence of the arena, he rapidly extended his psychic threads and wrapped up the blood vial behind Lunen.
The vial moved through the air with a faint sonic boom, and with a soft 'pop', it returned to Yun Huai's palm.
The young king finally exhaled, unaware that his sigh was simultaneously sensed in the minds of countless Ita on the main star.
The usually orderly orbital paths were now in chaos, the starport's takeoff and landing systems completely malfunctioned, with some spacecraft wildly spinning in the air, narrowly avoiding explosion.
At this moment, all Ita citizens involuntarily stopped in their tracks. The personnel maintaining the royal statue at the sanctuary slowly looked up, their vision blurring as they felt watched by the towering gemstone statue.
Linking with the royal family was a very comfortable and wonderful sensation, like a blank, cold heart being instantly filled with something soft. At its softest, it raised an infinite fighting and protective will. The Ita had never experienced the power of royal linkage, making most of them believe they were losing control.
They couldn't control their trembling fingers and their wildly pounding hearts.
Especially after hearing that faint sigh, all Ita's psychic powers instantly tensed.
Yun Huai leaped down from the high place, approaching where Lunen was. This was the central platform of the combat arena. Airborne military academy students started colliding and falling, while Gabrielle's mech hung precariously above Phaedo's head.
Yun Huai finished the last bit of the troublesome red liquid without wasting any, swallowing the source of the turmoil.
But he didn't realize that his swallowing sound also echoed into the minds of the Ita.
Eating.
The king is eating.
This thought suddenly burst into their minds.
After realizing it, the Ita were incredulous, wondering who they were referring to. Who was eating?
Yun Huai approached Lunen and said, "Do not harm yourself."
Lunen's chest heaved deeply, even his breathing appeared strained. He wanted to warn the young man in front of him but found himself unable to resist under the king's power.
The hot restlessness had vanished, leaving only a cool, tranquil breeze.
Yun Huai reached out to touch the guard chief's chest where a shallow hole had formed. Suddenly, a flurry of ice crystals fell from his fingertips. Eliad saw the wound covered in ice, rapidly healing back to normal.
He was being loved.
Eliad's eyes widened. The injured citizen was being protected and cherished by the king, and the wound crazily regenerated new flesh.
But King Yir didn't have the power to instantly heal wounds! The rapid regeneration of flesh seemed like a great miracle. Eliad, struck by a thought, trembled violently.
In disbelief, Eliad looked at Yun Huai, who was walking through the chaotic arena. He moved slowly, removing the mechanical mask from his face as he walked.
With the royal link open, there was no longer any need to conceal his face and keep a low profile.
The young king's snow-white side profile was calm and faint. His eyelashes were long and curled, black hair softly resting on his round ears. The king's noble grey-purple eyes observed the chaos before him, then he sighed.
Lu Lin'an.
A terrifying monster from another universe, still causing chaos across two galactic powers.
Yun Huai brushed aside a floating, damaged mechanical wing with his hand. His energy caused the Ita to freeze, also solidifying all the scattered debris. Phaedo's mech head was completely damaged, Gabrielle, with reddened eyes, faced Phaedo.
Yun Huai walked to the center of the combat arena, slowly crouching in front of Phaedo.
Instinctively, he raised his delicate hand to cover Phaedo's twisted arm.
Where Yun Huai's palm touched, snow-white ice crystals rapidly formed, similar to those on Lunen's wound. As the hot flesh melted the ice, bones reset, muscles reconnected, and blood began to flow again.
Eliad was so shocked it lost all ability to speak, eerily silent as if it had become a mechanical energy orb incapable of speech.
Phaedo stared directly into Yun Huai's grey-purple eyes, seeing the young man give him a comforting smile, followed by a familiarly gentle voice asking, "Does it still hurt?"
No reply was given, as Yun Huai realized the noble young man in front of him had completely ceased thinking.
He was trembling violently.
Yun Huai silently turned back, then looked at Gabrielle, trapped in his mech. The white threads slowly unfurled the tilted giant mech, catching Gabrielle as he fell from the cockpit with a gentle force.
The arrogant young noble stared with terrified eyes, seeing only the swaying platinum tassels where the king had walked in his peripheral vision.
Yun Huai circled the silent arena, with Eliad silently following. Suddenly, a slightly cold and hoarse voice echoed in Yun Huai's mind.
It was Xienna.
Xienna called out "King."
Yun Huai stopped in his tracks, hearing the high-ranking noble executive's voice rise and fall slightly: "You have initiated a full-domain psychic link."
Yun Huai: "?"
Xienna: "I am currently rushing to the link's coordinates. Pure-bloods on the main star aware of your existence are urgently controlling disturbances everywhere. In at most ten minutes, all Ita on the main star will realize they are linked to you, and because the full-domain is so vast, Ita citizens in the first star system's colonies will also sense it."
Yun Huai: "..."
He abruptly turned to look at Eliad, who had urged him to open all his psychic powers, only to find the mechanical cat out of commission.
Its electronic screen had turned completely grey and white.
Xienna took a deep breath and said, "Your power is still nurturing. Excessive linking could make you fall into an exhausted slumber. Your recent negative emotions could cause extreme anxiety among the citizens. Please, do not leave the Military Academy before I arrive."
Yun Huai blinked, feeling a momentary blur in his vision, but fortunately, the meal he had just had helped him, and he only yawned slightly.
Yun Huai paused and noticed that groups of military academy students were trembling as they stood up. They held their weapons, unsure of where the enemy that upset the king was located.
The students' minds were in chaos. They were too young, not yet fully graduated, and lacking real experience. Losing control in front of Lu Lin'an, who had fought countless cosmic battles, was inevitable.
Especially since the arena was semi-enclosed, Lu Lin'an's psychic aura was almost aggressively invading.
If they were true imperial warriors, such a small amount of blood would not have had such a disastrous effect.
As for Lunen, he was just a victim of being too close and caught off guard.
After suppressing his powers, Yun Huai suddenly understood what Lu Lin'an once praised him for: "You ate my blood and are still fine, truly a rare talent!"
The young man pursed his lips, his breath light and prolonged. The disheveled academy students were still awaiting the supreme royal command, their eyes filled with cold determination and a sense of guardianship, oblivious to pain.
……
Xienna's urgent request was not without reason.
Yun Huai's royal link suppressed the disaster at the scene.
But just a moment ago, under Eliad's misguided direction, his overextended psychic power shattered his vest all the way to the main star's subsidiary planets. Accompanying the shattered vest was the king's sigh, driving the citizens into a frenzy of sorrow.
