Chapter 52: Roland Verite
byChapter 52: Roland Verite
The air, water, and even the land-sea distribution of Blue Fei Star reminded Yun Huai of that distant planet.
Unfortunately, the life on that planet was too fragile, unable to withstand even one anomaly.
And he would never return there, the only blue star species in the Heiyao system that can't find its kind.
Many facilities in the Blue Sea City were neglected during the slumber, making the real city less pristine and prosperous than in the dream. The revival of a huge city is not as simple as imagined, but more people from the Second Galaxy will know about the empire's newly born royal family. This news will drive them forward, an empire with faith fearing no difficulties.
……
Yun Huai leaned back in the co-pilot seat to rest, with Lu Rin'an driving beside him.
Linking everyone and healing them all still left him feeling tired. Gaxiu stayed on Blue Fei Star to restore order, and Yun Huai, amidst his many reluctant farewells, prepared to return to the main star.
It feels like it's been a long time since he saw Xie Yena and Lunen.
"Did you fall asleep?" Lu Rin'an asked.
Iliad protested, "The king is resting, no visitors allowed!"
Lu Rin'an retorted, "I wasn’t asking you."
Yun Huai, with his eyes closed, turned slightly, "Don't be loud."
The air quieted for a while before Lu Rin'an spoke again, "Are you feeling down? Didn’t we just resolve the issues of the Second Galaxy?"
Yun Huai, with his back to him, slightly opened his eyes.
He heard the 'spaceship driver' say softly, "You've seemed a bit listless since a while ago."
After a few moments, Yun Huai responded, "Maybe it’s because I spread my mental energy too widely."
Lu Rin'an waited for him to continue.
The youth's voice grew softer, "…I think Blue Fei Star resembles Blue Star, but it's stronger, and its species are more formidable. They fear no disaster."
Lu Rin'an suddenly remembered Yun Huai once mentioned in the Abyss that he was from Blue Star.
After pondering, Lu Rin'an asked, "Do you miss it a lot?"
Yun Huai's fluffy head shook slightly, "It's just a bit of nostalgia, that's all."
Lu Rin'an fell silent, and after a while, Yun Huai seemed to fall asleep.
Iliad spoke up once he noticed the king was asleep, "Hmph! Don’t think just because you’ve won the king’s favor that you’re worry-free! Gyaxu has already sensed your monstrous nature! Xiyena thinks you're a mermaid, but if he meets Gyaxu, your cover will be blown!"
Cover?
His cover was more than just one layer.
Lu Rin'an, unconcerned, retorted, "At worst, we’ll just have a fight. But now we’re all on the same side, so I won’t go too hard."
Iliad: "……"
While speaking, Lu Rin'an suddenly asked it, "Have you noticed anything different about your king?"
Iliad pouted, "He’s uniquely beautiful in every way!"
Lu Rin'an: "……"
"I mean, in terms of abilities."
Iliad suddenly became wary, "What are you up to? Why would an outsider want to probe our empire’s top secret?"
The silver-blue butterfly fluttered onto the young man’s shoulder. Lu Rin'an glanced at it and spoke more softly, "Not every Ithai king possesses healing abilities. Gyaxu and Xiyena probably still consider healing as a natural soothing aspect of the king’s power. But you should know his uniqueness, being from four hundred years ago."
Iliad let out a startled quack.
"You-you-you-you—"
"How do I know this?" Lu Rin'an smiled slightly, "I won't tell you."
Iliad: "Despicable alien monster!!!"
Lu Rin'an hushed, "Keep it down."
Seeing Iliad's reaction, he knew his guess was correct.
Lu Rin'an wasn't sure when Iliad realized it, but it must understand what a species with absolute healing power represents in the galaxy.
The mist-dispersed Blue Fida Star was left behind by the swiftly moving spacecraft, its faint glow beautifying the surrounding smaller celestial bodies.
"Mental power always carries the risk of losing control from its inception. People rely on it and use it, but can also be overwhelmed by it. This is a universal truth for all species, but he has never lost control; he's a unique treasure in the universe."
Lu Rin'an murmured, "Perhaps his stability during upheavals is due to his healing ability."
Iliad gritted its teeth, "Don't reveal the king's secret!"
Lu Rin'an laughed, "Don't worry, I won't share anything about him with others. But you must understand, sooner or later, the Empire will realize Yun Huai is the only king with healing power."
Iliad's expression fell, remaining silent for a long while.
The blue butterfly fluttered in space, seemingly providing the king with another peaceful dream.
"The king is still young. Iliad doesn’t want him to be overly burdened with the responsibilities of a king," murmured the cat-ball softly, "Iliad knows the king is powerful, but wishes it were the only one aware of it."
Lu Rin'an glanced at it, "Some are born on mountain summits, where the strong winds only serve to highlight their presence."
Iliad, thinking of the protective barrier still guarding the main star, managed by King Yr: "... Then let the winds blow more gently."
"The wind needs to be gentler because he is such a tender person."
Lu Rin'an's eyes were stern as he observed the beautiful blue planet following their spacecraft.
"How similar is it? Enough to immerse him in such silent contemplation. I vaguely feel that Yun Huai might come from a very special place, possibly a place without his kind anywhere in the galaxy."
"Just like me, our loneliness is strikingly similar."
"...If only the Magma Dragon Tomb could be revived like the Blue Fida Dream, I could take him there, sharing my own kin with him."
Suddenly, Yun Huai turned in his sleep. Lu Rin'an glanced over, reaching out to adjust the blanket for the young Ita king, as the mechanical butterfly cautiously landed on the dragon's finger.
……
"After sorting out the mess in Blue Fida, Ga Xi will come to the main star to report. The great noble executors have their own ways of communication, but currently, only Ga Xi and Xi Ye Na are in touch."
"The news of the dissolution of the Blue Fida Dream spread to the main star even faster than the king’s spacecraft. At that time, Xi Ye Na was discussing with Lun En in the royal council chamber. The lion of the empire said to the main star executor, 'The king can do everything.'"
Xi Ye Na: "I'm not surprised. For the king, unraveling the dream was just a matter of time."
He paused, then said, "Ga Xi must have badmouthed me in front of the king, probably about intentionally concealing the news."
Lun En: "You understand him well."
Xi Ye Na: "It’s not that I understand him; it’s that I understand the uncontrollable desire to follow that every executor shows in front of the king. Ga Xi is annoyed at learning about the new king's arrival so late. He’s a young executor, more like a tattletale child."
Lun En quietly remarked: "But his ability is unique. If he wished, at this very moment, Laieral could know about the king. Ga Xi has the power to cast the king’s image into dreams."
"He could, but he wouldn’t," Xi Ye Na said. "Just as I didn’t tell him about the king's existence. Ga Xi can't swallow his pride and certainly won't inform Laieral. That's how capricious he is."
"Laieral has been disconnected from the main star. If Ga Xi remains silent, he might never know of the king's arrival."
Lun En slowly said, "The wild dogs will go mad when they find out."
Xi Ye Na's tone was icy, "We'll deal with that madness when it comes."
-
Yun Huai didn’t inform Xi Ye Na of his return to the royal court, but with guards and attendants around, the news quickly spread.
To the court's workers, Yun Huai had only been away for a day or two and had returned unexpectedly.
The blue butterfly, a gift from Ga Xi, merged with the Rolan Vite garden, stirring the old butterflies into flight. This creation, with its ability to lead other small constructs, served not only as diligent gardeners but also as the king’s eyes and ears spread across various locations.
Yun Huai woke briefly upon entering the main star's orbit. Lu Rin'an transformed back into a merman and entered the garden's pool, watching over him before Yun Huai retreated to his bedroom, exhausted.
He always felt fatigued after extensive use of his psychic power, but such weariness for Yun Huai was easily remedied with rest. He promptly fell onto his soft bed.
The king’s deep slumber added tranquility to the garden. Iliad chased Ga Xi's beautiful butterfly around, nearly crashing into the merman's head.
Lu Rin'an grumbled, "Can't you be more careful?"
Iliad retorted, "No!"
Passing by, AG-0781, upon seeing Lu Rin'an, stuttered habitually, "Don’t, don’t, don’t argue. The king, the king is resting."
Iliad: "╭(╯^╰)╮"
Lu Rin'an asked 0781, "Aren't you fixed yet?"
AG-0781's eyes flickered, "0781 belongs to the Third Star System's Night Legion. The legion commander possesses the ability to repair war robots."
Lu Rin'an inwardly mocked, "Poor robot. The legion commander from four hundred years ago is long gone."
……
The mist of Blue Fei Star dispersed, reconnecting the second solar system with the first. On the second day of Yun Huai's sleep, the military academy announced that the pure-blooded Ita of the main star would soon conduct graduation exchange training with the pure-blooded Ita of Blue Fei Star.
This news excited many young people from the main star, as Blue Fei Star was known for its beautiful, aloof pure-blooded female warriors.
The return of the King inadvertently promoted more interactions among the young people of the empire, leading everything towards a better direction.
However, Yun Huai himself was unaware of these developments; he was currently troubled by the additional blue stars that had appeared in his psychic sea.
The world became more crowded and lively, with blue stars and white stars clustering together, some even intertwining, and two large, glowing stones on the sea surface constantly undulating.
Yun Huai suspected these were Xi Ye and Ga Xiu.
Unlike Lu Rin'an, it seemed the enforcers didn't have the ability to enter his psychic sea, not like that monster who could appear behind him at any time.
Thinking this, Yun Huai suddenly realized that his current sleep was unusually quiet. Lu Rin'an hadn't joined him, and he was slightly unaccustomed to this silent world, his brow furrowing lightly.
In the king's bedroom, light filtered in through the window, with several mechanical butterflies perched on the windowsill, and Iliad fluttering around in agitation.
Before the king woke, only the mechanical creations from the garden were allowed near the bedroom.
Yun Huai slept for an entire day and night before opening his bleary eyes in the light, which was too bright and somewhat painful.
But before he could shield his eyes, a massive black object slowly moved to cover them.
Yun Huai paused for a moment, then swiftly turned his head.
The familiar monster hadn't appeared in his dream but was now half-leaning by the bedside, watching him. It was unclear how long he had been there, his huge black wings tightly covering the light, like natural curtains.
The densely scaled wings dropped fine sparks at the edges. In Yun Huai's astonished gaze, Lu Rin'an took his hand and then placed a burning kiss on the back of the Ita King's hand.
"Good morning, beautiful little blue star."
