Chapter 230: Oh No, My Master’s Being Abandoned
by 招桃花儿Chapter 230: Oh No, My Master's Being Abandoned
The next morning.
As Feng Xiyao woke up, she saw the man lying beside her.
Feeling a discomfort in her body, she angrily kicked the man away.
"Bastard, you took advantage of me when I was vulnerable!"
Mo Cangyan was almost kicked off the bed. Gazing into the furious eyes of the woman staring at him, he expressed his grievance.
"It was you who forcefully took what you wanted, wasn't it? Look at what you've done to me."
Saying this, he showed her the marks left by the claws on his body.
"It was you who persistently demanded to go to bed, and now that I don't fulfill your wish, you hit me!"
Observing the gruesome scratches across Mo Cangyan's chest and back, Feng Xiyao's face flushed slightly with a mixture of concern and distress.
"Are you alright?"
Mo Cangyan harrumphed softly, turning his head away, resembling a wronged young bride.
Feng Xiyao tugged at his hand, "Why are you angry? You didn't lose anything!"
Mo Cangyan shrugged her off, "What do you mean? Do women have purity while men don't?"
Feng Xiyao replied, "So what do you want?"
Mo Cangyan had been waiting for this response. He turned his head back with a hint of arrogance.
"Stay by my side and never leave me!"
Feng Xiyao retorted, "In your dreams!"
She got up, threw the blanket onto him, and quickly rolled out of bed to get dressed.
"Today never happened, don't even think about trying to hold me accountable!"
Observing her dash away after getting dressed, Mo Cangyan raised an eyebrow.
This woman was stubborn, immune to both soft and hard tactics. He needed to find a weakness if he wanted her to willingly stay by his side.
...
Worried that Zhang Luoyi might learn something from Feng Xiyao, Mo Lingyun clung to her whenever he had the chance, preventing her from interacting with Feng Xiyao.
Feng Xiyao, feeling awkward about constantly seeking out the couple and wanting nothing to do with Mo Cangyan, decided to leave the estate for some entertainment.
Passing by Ting Yu Pavilion, she spotted a delicate-looking man being beaten by several servants with sticks.
She recognized him as the man who had accompanied her in drinking during their previous encounter.
Initially, she didn't want to get involved, but seeing the severity of the beating, she hesitated before stepping in.
"Stop!"
Yuguan lifted his gaze and saw the woman approaching. A glimmer of delight flickered in his previously dull eyes.
The matron, upon seeing her, immediately ordered them to stop.
Feng Xiyao approached. "Why are you hitting him?"
The matron waved her handkerchief, her face flushed with anger.
"This wretch, I don't know what's gotten into her these past two days. Not only did she chase away the customers seeking her company, but she even declared that she didn't want to entertain any guests."
"I provide her with food and shelter. It's his good fortune if a customer takes a liking to him, yet he dares to drive them away. Doesn't he realize he's tarnishing the reputation of our Ting Yu Pavilion?"
"..."
Looking at the man on the ground, battered and bruised, yet with his gaze fixed on her, Feng Xiyao couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy.
"You want to go home, don't you?"
Yuguan remained silent, his eyes never leaving hers.
Feng Xiyao pursed her lips. Deciding to see this act of kindness through to the end, she threw a pouch of silver to the matron.
"Take this money; it's to buy him out of his servitude!"
The madam examined the pouch of silver. Logically, as the top performer in the establishment, this sum wouldn't be enough to free Yuguan from his contract.
But given the trouble he had caused and the displeasure of so many patrons, she had no choice but to nod in agreement. "Very well, I'll let you off on account of this young miss's intervention."
With that, the madam and her entourage left.
Observing the man sway as he struggled to stand, Feng Xiyao furrowed her brow. "Are you alright? Do you need me to send someone to escort you home?"
Yuguan shook his head, his expression one of hurt. "Thank you for your great kindness, Miss, but I have long lost my home."
Seeing how pitiful he was, fragile yet with an unyielding gaze, Feng Xiyao took out the remainder of her coins. "I don't have much on me either, but take this. You can use it to find your family."
Placing the money in the man's palm, she turned and left.
Yuguan, still in a daze, accepted the money and, unable to resist, followed in the direction she had gone...
After a few steps, Feng Xiyao sensed someone trailing her. She turned around.
Spotting the man from before, she frowned in displeasure.
"What is it? Was the money insufficient?"
Seeing that she had finally looked back at him, Yuguan happily jogged over.
"Miss, can I accompany you home? I can help with laundry, cooking, and any hard labor tasks."
Feng Xiyao replied, "My household isn't lacking in laborers, nor do we need one. Please stop following me."
With that, she quickened her pace, not wanting her act of kindness to lead to unwanted harassment.
"..."
Yuguan watched her departure with a sorrowful gaze, tightly holding the jade pendant in his hand.
Feng Xiyao rushed to the prince's residence, colliding head-on with Mo Cangyan who was exiting.
Mo Cangyan seized her hand, "Where have you been?"
Feng Xiyao pulled away, "Why should I tell you where I've been? Am I your prisoner?"
"Yao, you know I didn't mean it that way. I was just worried about you."
"I don't need it. You'd better return to the palace and tend to your concubines!"
Seeing her intention to leave, Mo Cangyan, not wanting her to go, stepped in front of her path.
He was about to say more but caught sight of a man in the distance through the corner of his eye.
Spotting the jade pendant from Feng Xiyao still firmly clasped in his hand, his expression darkened instantly.
He instructed Xiao Feng, who stood nearby, "Go bring him here!"
Xiao Feng nodded and strode over to tug Yuguan along.
Yuguan was pushed to the ground but still cautiously protected the jade pendant in his hands.
"So you went to meet this pretty boy?"
Seeing the man roughly thrown to the floor by Xiao Feng, Feng Xiyao shot a fierce glare at him.
"Mo Cangyan, do you think everyone is like you? I just happened to pass by and saved him."
"Just passing by?"
Mo Cangyan pointed at the item in Yuguan's hand, "You just happened to pass by and gave him money and a jade pendant? Have you forgotten that I'm your husband!"
Yuguan, not wanting Mo Cangyan to misunderstand Feng Xiyao, stood up to intervene.
"Excuse me, sir, you've misunderstood this lady..."
Mo Cangyan coldly interrupted him, "You have no right to speak. Get lost!"
Feng Xiyao gritted her teeth, speaking with unwavering determination.
"Don't listen to him. Since I've redeemed you, you'll follow me from now on!"
She shot Mo Cangyan a glare before entering the prince's residence.
A delighted smile tugged at the corners of Yuguan's lips as he bowed respectfully towards Mo Cangyan before hastily following Feng Xiyao into the residence.
Xiao Feng: "..."
Terminus, the master is about to be abandoned!
Mo Cangyan clenched his fists. Feng Xiyao truly dared; while he was still alive, she sought another man.
...
After escorting Yuguan into the estate, Feng Xiyao placed him in the neighboring quarters.
"Stay here for now. I'll think of a way to help you find your family."
The corners of Yuguan's lips fell; he had thought he could remain by her side forever.
"Very well, thank you, Miss!"
He bowed his head, his tone gentle.
