Chapter 155: Trouble Brews Again for Yun Mujing (Part 2)
by 落雪悠莲Chapter 155: Trouble Brews Again for Yun Mujing (Part 2)
"Little Sister's words..."
Su Er was about to lose his temper, but after Su RAO's words, all his anger dissipated, and he even agreed with her.
"If the Seventh Prince truly admires this General, this General is not entirely unwilling to accept. As long as the Seventh Prince is willing to dress in women's clothing for this General, I might just consider him a beautiful lady..."
For a moment, the atmosphere became even more tense, and no one expected Su Er to say such things in public.
Is this still the indifferent and taciturn Second Master Su?
Is this still the iron-handed and accomplished young general Su Er?
These two questions flashed through everyone's minds at once.
Su RAO was also taken aback and turned to look at Su Er, only to see that he still had an indifferent expression. However, there was a hint of a smile in his gaze when looking at Yun Mujing, though it seemed somewhat terrifying.
"Su... Yu... Mo..."
Enraged, Yun Mujing was about to make a move.
Then Yun Ji's voice intervened:
"Jing, have you caused enough trouble? Are you trying to get His Majesty to confine you?"
He stepped down from the carriage and walked over slowly.
The murmurs around the Qiong Yu Restaurant instantly ceased.
Yun Ji approached Yun Mujing, and despite not having any visible reaction, Yun Mujing's anger disappeared immediately. He looked at Yun Ji.
"Brother, you said Su Yu Mo is your friend, and I am your cousin. You wouldn't interfere in our feud."
After saying this, he turned to Su Er and sneered, "Su Yu Mo, our matter isn't over. Today, I'll let it go because of my brother, but next time, you won't be so lucky."
With a flick of his sleeve, Yun Mujing restrained his anger and strode away.
Su RAO clenched her fists tightly.
Watching Yun Mujing leave, her almond eyes filled with a faint peach color.
She glanced at Su Er briefly, worry evident in her eyes.
Then...
"Yun... Mu... Jing..."
Biting her teeth, Su RAO took a step forward to confront Yun Mujing, but both arms were grabbed from either side, with voices speaking simultaneously in her ears.
One was Yun Ji: "Su RAO, do not act rashly."
The other was Su Er, calling her little sister.
In the crowd,
Lianxin's handkerchief was already crumpled, her gaze fixed on the hand Yun Ji held on Su RAO. If looks could cut, Su RAO's hand would have been severed and bleeding profusely.
"Miss Zhao, it seems His Highness Jiyue does not reject Lady Ronghua. My father also intends to arrange a marriage between them.
It appears His Highness Jiyue's good fortune is near. Miss Zhao should give up now to avoid greater heartache."
Yun Murui walked up to Lianxin, whispered these words in her ear, and then walked into the Qiong Yu Restaurant with a smirk.
Behind him, Yao Yeting glanced at Lianxin and offered some comfort:
"Miss Zhao, don't be disheartened. It's His Highness Jiyue's loss for not liking you. You deserve someone better."
He then walked past her.
As they moved away, they exchanged a brief glance.
It seemed they had some secret plan regarding Miss Zhao, or more accurately, regarding Lord Zhao and the Zhao family.
The letter Yao Chancellor gave to Lord Zhao, what did the Yao family intend...
Arriving at the Qiong Yu Restaurant, they found no sign of the Seventh Prince. Yun Murui spoke in a low tone:
"Where is the Seventh Prince? Why is he causing trouble again, provoking Second Master Su..."
"Yun Murui, you're late, but your Seventh Brother just left. If you hurry, you might catch up with him.
As an elder brother and Crown Prince, you should teach your brother how to behave properly. Or shall I, as a county princess, take care of it?"
Su RAO looked at Yun Murui, knowing he had timed his arrival deliberately to avoid offending her family while not provoking Yun Mujing.
"Rao'er, show respect to the Crown Prince."
Su Da stepped forward, ostensibly scolding Su RAO, but actually preventing Yun Murui from finding fault with her. He bowed.
"My little sister is spoiled. Please forgive her, Your Highness."
"Second Master, you are too serious. Lady Ronghua is straightforward. How could I hold it against her?"
Yun Murui's expression remained unchanged, maintaining the Crown Prince's gentle demeanor. He smiled at Su RAO's provocations.
"Since the Crown Prince is here, as an elder brother and heir apparent, it is fitting for you to handle the Seventh Prince's mischief."
Yun Jì also released Su Ráo's wrist at an appropriate moment.
She turned to face Su Er for a moment.
Then she stepped away.
Su Er understood and spoke up, "Big Brother, Little Sister, Fifth Brother, it's time for us to go home. Grandfather is still waiting for us to have lunch."
He bowed to take his leave and directly pulled Su Ráo onto Yun Jì's carriage.
Restoring his indifferent demeanor and cold aura, this was the usual Su Er.
Su Da immediately bowed to Yun Muruì again, not wanting to keep their parents and elders waiting any longer. "Your Highness, please bear with us as we take our leave."
Su Wu quickly followed, not daring to linger any longer. He had also asked Yun Muyue to hold onto his 'Báwáng' cricket for him.
The commotion in front of the Qiong Yu Restaurant ended just because of a few words from Prince Jìyuè. The anticipated battle did not occur, and everyone heaved a silent sigh of relief.
Especially the manager of the Qiong Yu Restaurant, who thanked heaven and earth, bowing to Prince Jìyuè. If a fight had broken out, his restaurant would surely have been destroyed.
As Yue Hua's carriage drove away, Yun Muruì retracted his gaze, maintaining the composed demeanor befitting a Crown Prince, with the dignity of a future ruler.
His eyes showed no displeasure at being treated so indifferently by Prince Jìyuè, nor any annoyance at Yun Jì handing over this troublesome matter to him.
He instructed Yao Yeting to disperse the surrounding crowd, stating that today's incident was merely a jest between the Seventh Prince and Young Master Su Er.
He also asked Yao Yeting to convey a message to the Prefect of Jingzhao: the Emperor was busy with state affairs, so there was no need to report today's events to disturb him.
Inside Yue Hua's carriage, two cups of tea were offered to Su Er and Su Ráo. Yun Jì did not ask Su Er anything about why Yun Mujing had come to provoke him, instead quietly savoring his tea.
His presence was as serene as jade.
The carriage was silent.
Su Ráo pressed her lips together, feeling a heavy and oppressive atmosphere. She glanced at Yun Jì and then at Su Er.
Wanting to say something but unsure of what to say, she remained silent until the carriage reached Nan'ning Street.
"Yun Ling, stop the carriage," Su Er finally said, looking at Su Ráo. "Little Sister, let me ask you, do you still consider Yun Mujing a friend?"
Su Er did not avoid Yun Jì when asking this question.
Su Ráo knew that everything she and Su Er had discussed about her past with Yun Mujing had been shared with Yun Jì.
Looking at Yun Jì, she replied:
"Second Brother, I don't like Yun Mujing. I never have. If he causes trouble for my Second Brother, he is not my friend."
The Su family always stood together, and as a member of the Su family, she should stand even more firmly by them.
