"No way, we gotta tell him something this important!" Gu Nian said enthusiastically, then turned to run upstairs, muttering, "I'll write him a letter and share the good news!"

But after just a couple of steps, she suddenly stopped, as if thinking of something, and stepped back, a sly smile on her face, "Hehe, maybe I'll keep it a secret and surprise him when he comes back for New Year's—scare him good!"

After saying that, she couldn't help but laugh.

Su Zhaozhao smiled, "I'm afraid your plan won't work. Your dad's heading to Beijing next month for a meeting and plans to stop by your brother's school. He's sure to tell him."

Gu Nian was a little disappointed, "Dad is going to Beijing, what about you, Mom, being alone at home?"

"Your mom's pregnant, not handling explosives; I don't need a babysitter."

Gu Nian laughed, "I'll come back to hang out with you during my break."

"Is your coursework not heavy?"
