    Chapter 15 Demon King’s Castle: Part 15

The Golden Demon King kicked the door open and stared in shock at the scene.

    What was he seeing?!

He saw Mo Jiuye and Lin Xi lying on the bed, clothes askew, tangled together!

Last night, the Golden Demon King had been so overwhelmed by Lin Xi’s touch that he was left dazed and weak, unable to return home and forced to spend the night in a higher plane. Early this morning, he heard that Mo Jiuye wasn’t in his own room and immediately sensed trouble, rushing to Lin Xi’s room to catch them red-handed.

    And sure enough, he did.

Anyone with half a brain could see what had happened at a glance!

Lin Xi: Wait, it’s not what it looks like!

After the banquet ended, the Golden Demon King had also removed his mask, allowing Lin Xi to see his true face.

He possessed a mesmerizing beauty—golden hair, eyes gleaming like polished jade, and skin like flawless jade. His gaze always carried a flirtatious charm, as if brimming with spring sunlight.

The Golden Demon King was more captivating than the fairest maiden, and he was utterly infatuated with his own looks. Sure Lin Xi would fall for him, he never expected that Mo Jiuye, that jerk, would swoop in first!

That guy must have forced Lin Xi into submission—you fat bastard, give him back his innocence!

To make matters worse, Mo Jiuye was thoroughly enjoying this whole "walked in on us" drama. Smugly pulling Lin Xi into his arms, he introduced, "Lin Xi, this is Ju Bao, surnamed Jin. He has no real flaws, except for being kinda dumb... Typical orange cat IQ."

He lowered his voice for the last part.

Lin Xi dumbly nodded. Truthfully, he hadn’t caught what Jiuye said, nor did he dwell on whether the Golden Demon King’s name was Ju Bao, Jubao, or Jubao.

His mind was currently overloaded—dazzled by the Demon King’s looks, gasping from Jiuye’s aggressive make-out session, and internally cursing Jiuye as a scheming devil...

But what truly left him reeling was this soap-opera-level mess.

Him, Lin Xi—a guy who’d never even held hands with anyone in his life—he never imagined that one day, he’d get walked in on like some cheater! And worse, there wasn’t even any actual affair between him and Jiuye! Lin Xi wanted to scream!

They had just kissed, cuddled, and innocently slept together for one night.

    Sure, like *that’s* believable.

Ju Bao, the Golden Demon King, certainly didn’t.

Ju Bao was seething so hard he saw stars, his fair cheeks flushing red, his emerald eyes brimming with tears—he looked utterly pitiful.

Pointing accusingly at Mo Jiuye, he stammered, "You—how *dare* you?!"

Ju Bao couldn’t even swear right. He had only picked up a few lines from dramas, like "stealing men," and even those took him ages to memorize—after all, orange cats only had so much brainpower.

Mo Jiuye, still lounging on the bed with Lin Xi, smirked. "You’ve already seen it—of course, we did everything."

To "prove" they had indeed done everything, Jiuye deliberately rubbed his leg against Lin Xi under the covers, pressing close enough to outline their entangled limbs, showing off for Ju Bao. From his spot by the door, far from the bed, Ju Bao could only see the shifting blankets, the two bodies writhing beneath.

Combined with Jiuye’s open collar, Ju Bao’s imagination ran wild—picturing Jiuye and Lin Xi bare beneath the sheets, the image way too graphic.

Lin Xi lay limply in Jiuye’s arms, resigned. *Cut the crap, can’t you see the poor kid’s about to cry?*

"Bare beneath the sheets"? Please, you’re still wearing thermal pants down there, you bastard.

Indeed, the Demon King wears thermal underwear to bed.

Mo Jiuye is very particular about his wellness routine—not only does he wear a nightcap, but he also insists on thermal underwear, ensuring his whole body stays warm. The cat was sensitive to cold, but Lin Xi, who slept beside him, was drenched in sweat by midnight, so hot he wanted to strip naked.

Jin Jubao was speechless with rage.

Lin Xi saw tears welling up in his eyes, ready to spill over, looking so aggrieved that he might burst into tears any second. Going along with Jiuye’s act felt wrong—like they were bullying a child—and Lin Xi wanted to explain things to Jin Jubao.

But just as Lin Xi was about to speak, Jin Jubao suddenly screamed, "Damn you, Jiuye—!"

A fireball materialized in Jin Jubao’s hand, and he launched it at the bed like a cannonball, as if throwing a shot put in gym class.

    Lin Xi: Holy shit!

The fireball, engulfed in flames, shot across the room and crashed straight into Lin Xi’s bed.

With a cold snort, Mo Jiuye shoved Lin Xi aside—a seemingly casual push that unleashed an astonishing force. Lin Xi went flying across the room, tumbling into a corner before slamming headfirst into a wardrobe.

Seeing stars from the impact, Lin Xi heard a deafening explosion from the bed.

    BOOM!

His bed had been blown to smithereens.

Jin Jubao’s fireball had obliterated his bed!

Instantly, the room was filled with a storm of fluff and splinters, showering Lin Xi in debris. Meanwhile, Jin Jubao and Jiuye were already locked in battle, brawling in the smoky ruins, their shouts and the sound of furniture being smashed ringing nonstop.

The entire room was completely trashed.

Lin Xi struggled to his feet and noticed Minions peeking in from the doorway, discreetly signaling to him. They gestured that this was just the Demon Kings’ daily squabbles—he shouldn’t interfere and should just slip away quietly.

Lin Xi nodded weakly. He had already realized he was useless in this fight—at least for now. The Demon Kings didn’t care whether their offering was pure or obedient; they were simply getting off on the thrill of fighting over him.

Fighting over possession of the offering was the whole point. All Lin Xi had to do was sit back and watch. Not that it wasn’t entertaining—but the battlefield was far too dangerous.

Jin Jubao’s fireball could have turned Lin Xi into charcoal. Who would’ve thought this teary-eyed, pitiful-looking kid was actually a firebug? For his own safety, Lin Xi decided to let them duke it out while he took a stroll elsewhere.

Digging his phone out of the wreckage, Lin Xi slipped out of the room and headed into the forest. Before leaving, he checked the CatTracker App to confirm that his Pang Zai wasn’t in the room.

The screen displayed only fog—no cats were detected in or near the room.

The two cats currently locked in battle had masked their locations beforehand, ensuring Lin Xi wouldn’t know who was fighting in front of him.

Assured that Pang Zai wasn’t involved, Lin Xi left with relief.

He had no idea that the two Demon Kings tearing each other apart were actually his two cats. Their current lifestyle wasn’t much different from a cat café—constantly brawling for Lin Xi’s affection.

They both wanted to be the one and only cat in Lin Xi’s heart!

Completely oblivious, Lin Xi pocketed his phone and went for a walk.

    ……

The Demon King's domain was massive, encompassing not just the main structure but also the surrounding forests and mountains—all territory of the Tyrant Demon King. The outskirts were too expansive to traverse on foot, needing dragons just to patrol.

Ever since Lin Xi subdued the Demondevouring Flower in the hot spring forest, his reputation as the "Hand of Divine Will" had spread. Within a hundred-mile radius, demonic beasts and plants alike knew him as a divine messenger—and the Demon King’s property—so they treated him with reverence.

Moreover, the Minions’ cleanup squads had started clearing out dangerous creatures again, ensuring no more incidents like the Demondevouring Flower would occur. The forest was now safe, and Lin Xi could wander safely alone.

The Minions gave Lin Xi a magical token with built-in pathfinding and communication features.

As long as Lin Xi carried the token, he wouldn’t get lost in the forest. When he wanted to return, he could simply notify the Minions with the token, and they would take him back to the castle.

Lin Xi estimated that the two Demon Kings would keep fighting until noon, so he packed some herb cakes and herbal green juice to snack on during his walk. The morning forest air was fresh, and the sunlight was pleasant. As he strolled and ate, he wandered all the way to the back mountain of the Demon King’s castle.

The back mountain area served as training grounds for the Demon King’s forces, featuring an incredibly vast plain that stretched almost endlessly. But what intrigued Lin Xi wasn’t the combat training—it was the rumor that this area was the Demon King’s dragon sanctuary.

Lin Xi had once witnessed the Black Dragon Knights welcoming the Demon Kings outside the castle. Those dragons so massive their wings blotted out the sun were raised here. He had only read about such mythical creatures in books and wanted to see just how massive real dragons were.

When a Black Dragon spread its wings in flight, it could block out the sky. So, the sight of them resting on the ground must be even more spectacular. Lin Xi followed the path toward the back mountain, curious and excited.

    How tall’d a dragon be—fifty meters? A hundred?

Was a Black Dragon bigger than a space shuttle?

The closer he got, the more he heard sporadic booms from the direction of the dragon sanctuary.

Daytime was supposed to be when the Black Dragons rested, yet now there were deafening crashes. It sounded like something massive crashing to the ground. Lin Xi suspected it was the sound of Black Dragons landing, but there shouldn’t be so many taking off and landing at this hour.

    Were they exercising?

Lin Xi climbed the hill along the path when suddenly, a fierce gust of wind swept toward him—!

He quickly shielded his eyes. In the distance, the dragon sanctuary was engulfed in swirling dust and debris, making it impossible to see clearly. Through the haze, Lin Xi faintly spotted the silhouettes of several dragons rising and falling, as if attacking something.

The massive bodies of the Black Dragons soared up before crashing down, churning up dust—this was the source of the booming sounds he had heard. He saw the dragons encircling an empty space in the middle, where a much smaller figure weaved between them with astonishing agility.

Squinting through the dust, Lin Xi could barely make out the small creature dodging left and right with surprising speed. Despite the dragons’ relentless attacks, not a single one managed to even graze it.

Watching this scene, Lin Xi felt a weirdly familiar vibe.

A group of powerful enemies surrounding a tiny creature, only to be played like fools at every turn. Where had he seen this before? Many times, in fact…

Just then, his phone pinged with a notification—the cat-tracking app had detected activity.

Cat Tracker Alert: *Your cat is nearby.*

Identity: *Silver Shaded, ‘Xiao Yin’ (Silver).*

    Distance: *300 meters.*

    Status: *In combat!*

Lin Xi nearly dropped his phone. It really was Xiao Yin!

At that moment, the distant booms ceased. The battle between the Black Dragons and their opponent seemed to have reached its conclusion. Standing atop the hill, Lin Xi watched as the dust slowly settled, revealing a mind-boggling scene.

Several Black Dragons were clustered together, roaring in frustration. They weren’t gathering willingly—they couldn’t move. Their tails had been neatly knotted together, tangled up beyond escape.

And standing triumphantly beside the knotted dragon tails was a silver-furred cat.

The cat’s fur was pure silver, its eyes ocean-blue—a stunningly beautiful Silver Shaded feline. Lin Xi instantly recognized him as the second of his four cats: Xiao Yin.

    Oh *come on*.

His cat was beating dragons on the Demon King’s turf!
