Chapter 103
by 苏九影Chapter 103
A few days later, the school's parent-teacher meeting began as planned.
That morning, Bao Yiming was still choosing outfits for his little dad.
Wen Cishu had already reminded him that this wasn’t a fashion week event, so there was no need to go all out.
But clearly, Bao Yiming turned a deaf ear, still insisting on selecting outfits for his little dad.
He insisted passionately, "It’s little dad’s first time attending! Of course, he should make an impression!"
Wen Cishu hugged a square pillow, his expression clearly saying "NO."
Not only that, but he also pushed back against the kid's ideas, raising his arm and declaring, "I want to wear a suit and shirt! The same formal style as big dad."
"Huh?"
Bao Yiming looked down at the airy, elegant outfits draped over his arm. "Formal wear isn’t as nice."
Wen Cishu stuck his chin out defiantly. "I’m wearing it, end of story!"
Bao Yiming: Why does this tone sound so familiar?
—Ah, little dad must have picked it up from big dad.
Just then, Auntie Zhong came in with a plate of fruit.
"Grandma Zhong!"
Bao Yiming bounded over, explained the situation, and asked for her opinion. "Tell me, which is better—the clothes I picked or the suit?"
Wen Cishu tossed a blueberry in his mouth, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
This question seemed to offer a choice, but in reality, the options were the same.
Auntie Zhong gave her thoughts: "This is quite an important matter. I’ll call Old Xu right away and ask for you. Yes, I’ll do it now. Wait here while I get my phone."
As she spoke, she hurried out of the room with quick little steps.
Bao Yiming: -_-
"Haha." Wen Cishu laughed so hard he doubled over on the sofa.
Auntie Zhong was just too adorable.
Bao Yiming pouted, ready to act spoiled.
Wen Cishu fed him a blueberry, pinched his cheek, and soothed, "I’ll go to every meeting from now on, not just this once, okay? Let’s keep it low-key, no need to make it so grand."
Bao Yiming bit into the blueberry, the words warming his heart.
"When I grow up and throw my graduation cap at university, will little dad come too?"
"Of course."
Wen Cishu sat up straight, pulling him close. "How could I miss such an important moment in my baby’s life?"
After pausing, he added, "Whether you study at home or overseas, your big dad and I will be there. We’ll get plenty of photos."
Bao Yiming envisioned the future with a blissful scene. "Heehee~"
Catching a glimpse of a figure from the corner of his eye, he turned his head in surprise, "Dad? Why are you home all of a sudden?"
He then turned to observe Papa.
Wen Cishu was equally puzzled, looking at him and asking, "We agreed you wouldn’t come back for us, didn’t we? The school isn't far."
He had specifically reminded Bao Tingyuan both last night and this morning, considering his busy work schedule.
Bao Tingyuan walked behind the sofa, placing his hand on Wen Cishu's shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"It's your first time going. I'll accompany you. I won't go in—I'll wait in the car."
Wen Cishu tilted his head up and blinked, his dark eyes seeming to say:
President Bao, get a clue—it’s not my first day of school!
Bao Yiming hugged Papa's arm, "I'm going too! I'm responsible for taking Papa to the meeting place."
Wen Cishu thought to himself: What, do parent-teacher meetings turn into brawls now?
"Woohoo!" Bao Yiming cheered excitedly, jumping up. "Then I gotta pick out an outfit!"
Wen Cishu facepalmed, murmuring softly as he looked up, "President Bao, is your son a peacock? Always strutting around."
Bao Tingyuan raised an eyebrow but didn't comment.
He plucked a just-right blueberry from the fruit plate and brought it to Wen Cishu's lips.
His lips, slightly damp, looked extra soft.
Wen Cishu naturally parted his lips, but Bao Tingyuan raised his hand slightly, making him instinctively tilt his neck to bite it.
Catching on, he leaned back, "It’s noon. Shouldn’t you be working instead of coming home to mess with me?"
Bao Tingyuan popped the blueberry, which had brushed against Wen Cishu's lips, into his own mouth. He then leaned over the sofa, staring down at him.
Wen Cishu leaned against the armrest, warning him with his eyes: The kid could pop up any second.
Bao Tingyuan didn't push further—he just hadn't seen him all day and wanted to take in a few more glances.
When Bao Yiming came bounding over, the two strikingly handsome yet distinctly different fathers simultaneously looked up at him.
He thought wistfully, why can’t two parents go to these meetings?
One seat’s just not enough!
-
International School.
The moment the car parked, Bao Yiming spotted a classmate's car and immediately darted out to say hi.
Meanwhile, Wen Cishu adjusted his white shirt and hair slightly, asking cautiously, "You think the teacher’ll think I’m underdressed? Would it reflect badly on Yi Ming?"
Bao Tingyuan took in the rare sight of him in a dress shirt—even with the collar undone for a laid-back vibe—oozing charm.
Wen Cishu's trim waist, broad shoulders, and that long neck made the plain white shirt look amazing.
When no answer came, Wen Cishu glanced up, puzzled, only to find Bao Tingyuan just… staring.
This man's gaze had always been piercing enough to make him squirm.
He hurriedly pushed the car door open. "Okay, stay put!"
After getting out of the car, Bao Yiming ran back again.
He bent down to look at his Big Dad in the back seat and asked curiously, "Little Dad, why does Big Dad seem so worried about you?"
Wen Cishu glanced at the surrounding cars and parents getting out, muttering, "He's not worried, he's—"
His words abruptly stopped.
Bao Yiming was left with a head full of question marks, feeling frustrated; recently, the wordless glances between his two dads always seemed like they were hiding secret signals from him.
School auditorium.
-
Some students had watched the reality show *Zai Zai the Superman* during summer vacation and got excited when they saw the father-son pair.
A few younger children stared openly at Wen Cishu beside their parents, their eyes wide with curiosity.
Wen Cishu glanced at the acting all inexplicably proud little monkey beside him and suddenly felt a pang of heartache.
After all these years, this was his first time coming here.
Little Yi Ming must have been so lonely as a child.
He reached for the boy's hand, about to say something, but the child gently pulled away.
Bao Yiming quickly mumbled, "Little Dad, don’t hold my hand—my classmates will laugh at me."
Wen Cishu gritted his teeth. "You little brat!"
Seeing this, Bao Yiming reluctantly extended his hand. "If Little Dad really wants to hold it, then just for a second."
Wen Cishu turned his head away. "No way!"
Mimicking the little one’s tone, he added, "If other parents see, they’ll laugh at me too."
Bao Yiming: "..."
Bao Yiming’s class had only twenty students.
-
Parents were seated around the U-shaped conference table.
In the entire meeting room, everyone already recognized Wen Cishu from the show.
Only he himself wore the clear expression of someone attending a parents' meeting for the first time.
Fortunately, the parents were all very friendly, and Wen Cishu chatted briefly with those beside him.
"In the class, your Yi Ming is the best at tennis. My daughter was saying just yesterday how excited she is to team up with him when school starts."
"And he’s excellent at horseback riding too. Your family really knows how to raise a child."
Wen Cishu smiled calmly, feeling both proud of our little rascal and utterly embarrassed by the praise. He politely replied, "Oh, not at all, it’s mostly his Big Dad who does most of the parenting."
Suddenly, a voice piped up unexpectedly: "Yi Ming’s dad, you’re even more handsome than on the TV show. No wonder Yi Ming was always so cute growing up."
Everyone turned to look, nodding along.
Wen Cishu stayed silent.
Before the official meeting began, the parents had already swapped tutor details.
Wen Cishu also volunteered to recommend tennis and swimming coaches for their children.
"Bao Yiming’s dad, is your child planning to go to France next year? Have you chosen a school yet?"
A parent suddenly appeared behind him, and Wen Cishu gave a polite nod. "Not yet."
The parent asked kindly, "When the time comes, could we discuss it in detail? We’d also like to send our child to France."
Wen Cishu thought to himself:
Where did this "also" come from?
Is everyone just assuming Yi Ming is going to study in France?
Afterward, there was an hour-long open meeting followed by private one-on-ones.
By the time the meeting ended, Wen Cishu felt like he had returned to his university days, sitting through a long lecture—so tired he could drop right there.
Back in the car.
Wen Cishu grabbed his back with a groan. "Ugh, my back is killing me~~"
Bao Yiming eagerly reached out. "Daddy, I’ll massage it for you~~"
"I'll do it." Bao Tingyuan pulled Wen Cishu into his arms, his hand resting on his waist with just the right pressure as he massaged.
Meanwhile, Bao Yiming clenched his fists and started patting his daddy’s legs. "My classmates all say you’re really nice~ Everyone wants to meet you~ Some even asked if they could come over to our house."
Wen Cishu swatted his hands playfully. "Who was it earlier that wouldn’t even hold Daddy’s hand?"
Bao Yiming pouted. "Sorry, Daddy~~"
He quickly grabbed his daddy’s hand, rubbing it against his cheek, whining, "Today was such a happy day for me~"
Wen Cishu pinched his little face—this kid could be adorably sweet sometimes.
"I hope you’ll still say that after school starts."
Bao Yiming: Wait, he still has school?!
Bao Tingyuan gave a soft cough. "Yi Ming, to celebrate school starting—"
Bao Yiming’s eyes widened. "Huh?"
"Pfft..."
Wen Cishu snorted laughing, leaning against Bao Tingyuan’s shoulder—how did he say that without cracking up?
Bao Tingyuan continued, "Let’s go out to eat tonight. Yi Ming, what’re you craving?"
Bao Yiming’s gaze flicked between his two dads' faces.
You must be really looking forward to starting school!
—Hmph! Dads are the worst!
"Any dishes that make school disappear?"
Bao Tingyuan calmly gave the order: "Alright, then take a different car and head home first. I'll go alone with your little daddy."
"Noooooo!"
Bao Yiming angrily clung to his little daddy's arm. "You can't leave me behind! I'm your precious baby boy!"
Wen Cishu hugged him. "Alright, your big daddy was just teasing you. Did you really take it seriously?"
Bao Yiming mumbled, "Little Daddy, you don’t understand Big Daddy at all."
Bao Tingyuan told Master Liu to drive to the restaurant and, unusually, asked his little son, "You understand me?"
Bao Yiming grinned mischievously. "Big Daddy just wants to spend every day with just the two of you and Little Daddy! Don't think I haven't noticed."
Wen Cishu: ?
Bao Yiming: "When school starts, Big Daddy will definitely skip work every day."
Wen Cishu: ??
Bao Yiming: "I bet he's already planning to send me to a boarding school in France!"
Wen Cishu: ???
