    Chapter 14 Violating School Rules

Ten minutes later, the freshmen arrived at the cafeteria one after another to eat.

Lu Yan and Qi Yanshen were among the faster ones. When they reached the cafeteria, it wasn't too crowded yet.

As soon as Lu Yan entered, he began looking around, scanning for Ji Anzhi, but after checking the entire area, he couldn't find him.

Lu Yan looked back at Qi Yanshen, his eyes filled with extreme distrust. "You weren't lying to me, were you?"

Qi Yanshen met Lu Yan's gaze, raising an eyebrow as if to ask, 'Why would I?'

However, Qi Yanshen hadn't seen Ji Anzhi either, so he sent a message asking where he was.

"Roommate Ji Anzhi: On the second floor."

    Second floor?

Although Qi Yanshen hadn't received the student handbook yet, he had heard that the department's top student enjoyed many privileges. He figured this was likely one of them.

He patted Lu Yan's shoulder. "He's on the second floor."

Lu Yan said, surprised, "Second floor?"

He remembered the instructor saying that meals on the second floor and above required dining credits. As broke freshmen, they could only eat on the first floor. Why would Ji Anzhi go to the second floor?

Lu Yan followed, confused, for a few steps before suddenly remembering—Ji Anzhi was the top student of the department!

He said resentfully, "Is this another one of those top student privileges?"

Qi Yanshen ignored Lu Yan's murderous glare. "Probably."

Lu Yan: Damn, I'm so jealous I could kill someone. What should I do?

As Qi Yanshen and Lu Yan headed toward the stairs, many students in the cafeteria noticed them. Most simply watched them with curious, probing looks.

Of course, there were also those who thought Qi Yanshen and Lu Yan were putting on airs and mocked them.

A blond alpha male deliberately passed by the two and taunted, "Do Young Master Qi and Young Master Lu think their faces are their meal tickets at First Military Academy? Careful you don't become a joke."

Qi Yanshen ignored him. He disliked wasting time and breath on dogs that only know how to bark.

Lu Yan couldn't hold back and retorted, "Audur, how old are you? What are you trying to prove this time?"

    Audur's face darkened, clearly angered.

The two alphas beside Audur, aware of the history between the two sides, stepped forward slightly, making it clear they had backup.

Seeing their movement, Lu Yan sneered and raised an eyebrow. "What, trying to intimidate me? Or do you want a beating?"

His tone was incredibly provocative. Qi Yanshen also stopped and stood behind Lu Yan.

The message was clear: if you want to fight, we're ready.

The direction Qi Yanshen and Lu Yan were heading was already conspicuous. Now, with someone stopping them to mock them, and Lu Yan not bothering to lower his voice, almost everyone in the cafeteria was watching them.

Feeling everyone's eyes on him, Audur's expression turned ugly. He knew his combat skills were barely enough to handle Lu Yan, let alone Qi Yanshen.

However, Audur quickly composed himself, putting on a phony smile. "Young Master Lu, your words are quite arrogant. We were just kindly reminding you, so you two won't be too embarrassed to come back down later. What if you go hungry and run home crying to your daddies?"

Lu Yan was sickened by his look but kept a smile on his face, feigning curiosity. "I remember someone who lost a fight, ran home to their father, and ended up being forced to apologize and even got a thrashing. Who was that again? Hmm?"

Mentioning the past shattered Audur's facade. His face darkened, and he suddenly leaned close to Lu Yan, speaking in a voice only they could hear, not bothering to hide the malice.

"Isn't it just because your dad is the younger brother of the richest man? Without his older brother, a vase like your dad would never have had the guts to threaten my father into forcing him..."

Before he could finish, Lu Yan punched Audur right in the face. Before Audur could react, Lu Yan grabbed his right arm and gave him a perfect shoulder throw.

Seeing Audur being hit, the two alphas beside him stepped forward, but Qi Yanshen was already in front of them.

Qi Yanshen first punched one of them in the stomach, sending him to the floor. Then, he grabbed the other, slammed him to the ground, and dislocated his arm.

The two men's screams of pain completely drew everyone's attention in the cafeteria. Even those who hadn't been paying attention before now looked over.

Lu Yan stepped on Audur's hand, his expression cold and his voice like ice. "Audur, do you have the guts to say that again?"

Audur's mouth was bruised purple from the punch, and he frowned in pain.

The scent of rum from Lu Yan's pheromones surged toward Audur. Although he wasn't actively releasing aggressive pheromones, the natural scent carried the oppressive aura of an S-rank alpha, relentlessly bearing down on Audur.

Audur was an A-rank alpha. Under the pressure of an S-rank alpha, he felt some fear and apprehension, but more than that, he felt the anger of having his territory challenged. Audur's pheromones also surged forth defiantly.

Audur looked at Lu Yan, grinning as he laughed, enunciating each word clearly. "I said, your dad... is just a vase!"

This time, Lu Yan didn't strike again. He looked at Qi Yanshen.

Qi Yanshen understood. He rummaged through his Space Bracelet, took out a syringe, and tossed it to Lu Yan. "Pain inducer. Lasts three hours. No antidote."

Lu Yan caught it, grunted in reply. He pressed Audur's head down, forcing him to expose the blood vessels on the side of his neck.

    A salty smell. Really unpleasant.

Lu Yan thought to himself about the scent as he silently increased the pressure.

Realizing what Lu Yan intended to do, Audur panicked and struggled, but Lu Yan held him down with unyielding force.

Audur threatened frantically, "Lu Yan, how dare you! The academy has rules—fighting is only allowed in the arena. Aren't you afraid of being expelled?"

Hearing this, Lu Yan actually laughed, a scornful laugh. "Then do you know the first rule of the military academy?"

Lu Yan inserted the needle into the blood vessel. As he pushed the plunger, he admired Audur's fearful state, narrowing his long eyes as he spoke slowly. "The first rule of the military academy—strictly prohibit any form of ABO discrimination..."

After injecting the drug, Lu Yan released his hold on Audur. Watching him writhe and scream in agony from the pain coursing through his nerves, Lu Yan was immensely pleased. He even took a photo before finishing his sentence.

"Tell me, which one of us will be expelled first?"

Although Lu Yan smiled like the boy next door, it sent chills down the spines of everyone in the cafeteria. They silently distanced themselves from the scene, especially those who knew Lu Yan and his background.

This was the first time they had seen the third young master of the Lu family act so unhinged.

They had only known about the Jian family's Little Madman before, but now they realized this Lu kid was quite mad too. And the one from the Qi family was no different, casually handing over the syringe as if it were nothing. Should they say birds of a feather flock together?

When Ji Anzhi came downstairs, this was what he saw. Seeing the aftermath around the two of them, he froze for a moment, not expecting that they'd gotten into a fight.

Ji Anzhi hurried over. As soon as he got close, he was overwhelmed by the strong, salty smell and choked on it, coughing.

    "Cough! Cough, cough!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Lu Yan and Qi Yanshen looked in the direction of the sound and saw Ji Anzhi covering his mouth and nose, coughing.

Lu Yan walked over and patted Ji Anzhi on the shoulder, asking with concern, "What's wrong? Are you sick? If you're sick, you shouldn't be out and about."

Ji Anzhi didn't reply immediately. After about ten seconds, once he had gotten used to the smell and recovered, he explained, "I'm not sick. The smell was just too overpowering, and I wasn't careful."

It dawned on Lu Yan that after administering the pain agent, the alpha had lost all control of his pheromones. They had subconsciously burst forth, and he had confined the alpha's pheromones to a small area around him to avoid disturbing others.

He and Qi Yanshen had undergone resistance training for this, so other than being a bit uncomfortable and annoyed, they had no other major issues.

Ji Anzhi had just stepped into the zone and would definitely have smelled the high concentration of pheromones. Without any training, it was no wonder he was taken by surprise and choked.

Understanding the reason, Lu Yan immediately took out a pheromone isolation patch and applied it to Odour's gland. To prevent Odour from tearing it off, Lu Yan casually yanked both his hands out of their sockets.

This move left the onlookers stunned into silence.

Lu Yan took out two bottles of pheromone eliminator from his Space Bracelet and started spraying like crazy to get rid of the smell.

Seeing this, Ji Anzhi was both touched and amused.

Half a minute later, thanks to three bottles of the stuff, the smell had mostly dissipated. Ji Anzhi then asked what had happened.

"It's nothing much, just that this guy's mouth isn't clean," Lu Yan said, shrugging it off.

Ji Anzhi looked at the alpha lying at Lu Yan's feet, writhing in silent agony, a twisted, pathetic mess. He seriously wondered what the alpha could have said to make Lu Yan, who was usually smiling and easygoing, so angry...

...Well, he couldn't figure it out.

Ji Anzhi asked the two, "Should we head upstairs to eat? If we don't, the food will get cold soon."

The bystanders couldn't believe it: Who is this beta? And can't you see the miserable state of those three people on the ground? How can you just calmly ask about eating...?

Lu Yan nodded, dead serious. "Of course we have to eat! If I don't, my dad will lecture me for two hours."

Qi Yanshen also nodded. As for these three, let them lie here for now. The Odour family would likely go to the military academy to get this swept under the rug. A quarter of the Aike family's business was managed by Lu Yan's father. Really, what was Odour thinking...

But before the three could leave, the drill instructors arrived at the cafeteria and saw the scene.

"What's going on here?" a middle-aged instructor with a stern face asked. Behind him followed a group of instructors, and the students on both sides quietly stepped aside.

Ji Anzhi guessed this must be the head instructor.

Lu Yan stood at attention and barked a report, "Reporting, Head Instructor! I was on my way to the second floor to eat when this person started mocking me. I said a few words back, and then he insulted my father, so I dealt with them and injected him with something. Report complete."

The head instructor looked at the alpha at Lu Yan's feet, twisted in agony and barely recognizable as human. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, "What did you inject him with?"

Whatever could reduce an alpha to such a pitiful state...

Before Lu Yan could answer, Qi Yanshen had already spoken up, "Sir, it's a neural pain agent, developed in-house. The effect lasts three hours, and there is no antidote. It has been tested; an A-level Alpha can endure it for six hours. He'll be fine. Report complete."

    Silence. More silence.

Especially among those who knew Qi Yanshen's father's identity.

The head instructor knew Qi Yanshen and Lu Yan, and of course, he knew their parents. He couldn't help but sigh at the alpha on the ground for starting something he couldn't finish.

Qi Yanshen's father, Yun Huaifeng, was the go-to guy in the Interrogation Department. Every time a drug he developed was used in interrogations, no matter how vicious the criminal, they couldn't last more than ten minutes.

The head instructor helplessly rubbed his forehead. At that moment, a young instructor approached and said, "I reviewed the surveillance footage. It was indeed the students on the ground who started the trouble. Later, the most severely injured student said Lu Yan's father was just window dressing, and that's when they started fighting."

Once he understood, the head instructor thought for a moment. This needed to be wrapped up quickly. If there were any further issues, he could let General Lu deal with the fallout.

He said to Lu Yan, "Although the other party was at fault, this is no way to treat your classmates. You should have gone to the leitai or let the Discipline Department handle it. Considering both sides were at fault, all six of you are getting one demerit, with no further punishment."

    Ji Anzhi looked bewildered.

Huh? Why am I being included?

Lu Yan also realized that the head instructor had accidentally included Ji Anzhi.

He quickly tugged Ji Anzhi forward and reported, "Reporting, Instructor! This is my roommate. He sat out training to get food. He wasn't involved in the fight just now."

The head instructor looked at the young instructor who had just reported. The young instructor nodded.

The head instructor coughed into his fist, a bit embarrassed, and said, "Sorry, student. I accidentally included you."

Ji Anzhi gave a slight shake of his head. "It's fine."

Then, following Qi Yanshen's lead, he said, "Reporting, Head Instructor."

Seeing he had something to say, the head instructor said, "Speak."

Ji Anzhi continued, "Sir, can the top student in the department use their privileges starting now?"

The head instructor nodded, "Yes, starting the first day of official training."

Ji Anzhi inquired, "I recall one of the privileges allows the top student to wipe three demerits per semester. The rule doesn't say it has to be your own demerits, meaning it can also offset others'."

The head instructor understood his meaning and asked, "So, you want to use your privilege to offset the demerits for your two roommates?"

Ji Anzhi shook his head, smiling as he looked at Qi Yanshen. Qi Yanshen caught on immediately and stepped forward to report, "Sir, Cadet Qi Yanshen, top of the Command Department exams, requests to use my privilege to offset the demerits for myself and my companion, Lu Yan."

The head instructor gave Ji Anzhi an appraising look, then declared the matter settled and told everyone to get back to their meals.

With that, the students sprang back into action, some getting food, others eating quietly.

The instructors popped the dislocated arms and shoulders of the three alphas back into place. The two who weren't seriously injured could just get a healing shot from the medics when they arrived.

The real problem was the alpha on the pain agent. He could only wait for the medical team to take him away and see if they could knock him out or dull the pain somehow.

As for a complete solution? That was impossible. Even Yun Huaifeng hadn't developed an antidote; what were the chances the medics could whip one up in three hours?

Not a minute later, the medical team arrived at the cafeteria and hauled him off. The instructors also headed upstairs to get their own food.

As soon as the instructors went upstairs, they saw the trio eating on the second floor. Knowing they had used the top student's privilege, they weren't surprised.

Ji Anzhi and the other two gave the instructors a polite nod, then dug in. If they didn't hurry, the food would really get cold.

Between bites, Lu Yan muttered under his breath, "Why does the top student have so many privileges? I should've tried harder for first place..."

Ji Anzhi thought it was odd. *Your father is the Federation's Commander, and you didn't know the military academy's top student had privileges?*

However, Ji Anzhi didn't ask. Instead, he reminded him gently, "You should eat quickly. It's getting cold. Cold food's bad for your stomach."

Lu Yan, obedient, turned his attention back to his food. He'd burned a lot of calories earlier and still had afternoon training, so he needed a good meal.

When Ji Anzhi was halfway through his meal, he noticed the two alphas sitting across from him were almost done. He got up and went to window number one, and had the uncle cut up the chilled watermelon and put it on a plate.

He brought the watermelon back to the table, pushed it to the center, and said, "Just cut, and it's chilled. Help yourselves."

Thinking the watermelon was provided by the cafeteria, the two thanked him and each took a piece.

Lu Yan took a bite and felt instantly refreshed, his expression turning blissful. "Summer really calls for chilled watermelon! So satisfying."

Qi Yanshen didn't say anything, but the look in his eyes as he ate showed he was enjoying it just as much.

Ji Anzhi smiled helplessly. It seemed the two had a rough morning!

Ji Anzhi only ate one slice and didn't take more. For one thing, he wasn't very hot today and hadn't exerted himself, so he wanted to leave the rest for them. Also, he still had his own meal to finish...

The instructors at the next table saw Ji Anzhi bring a plate of watermelon and thought there was free fruit. One ran over to ask if there was any more.

Of course, the chef shooed him away. "What are you talking about? That's the young man's own. Bring your own next time if you want some."

Shamefacedly returning to his seat, the instructor who had gone to ask looked envious. "Why would someone bring fruit, chill it, and serve it to their roommates? Back in my day, I hid three peaches and they still got snatched. Damn!"

A young instructor nearby empathized deeply. "Hah, that's nothing. My buddy skipped military training back then to spend time with his girlfriend in the dorm. Forget bringing me fruit, he almost forgot about me entirely."

    "…………"

Although there was some distance between the two groups, the second-floor dining hall had only a few people, so Qi Yanshen and Lu Yan heard the instructors' conversation clearly.

Lu Yan looked at the watermelon in his hand, then at Ji Anzhi quietly eating his meal. He leaned over and whispered, "Did you buy this watermelon yourself?"

Ji Anzhi, with chopsticks in his mouth, nodded.

Lu Yan was so touched he almost teared up. Looking at Ji Anzhi very seriously, he said, "Consider yourself my third brother now. If anyone bullies you, tell us, and we'll beat them up for you!"

Ji Anzhi tilted his head slightly. Had Lu Yan just been won over by a watermelon?

Putting down his chopsticks, Ji Anzhi smiled with curved eyes and said, "Mm, okay."
