    Chapter 87

When the child was one month old, Lin Ze and Li Xiujin finally dared to entrust them to others, hiring three nannies.

This made things much easier for Lin Ze, Li Xiujin, and even Li Chongyi.

They had originally planned to take the children out, but the child was still too young and their behavior too unpredictable. Lin Ze and Li Xiujin couldn't just go off by themselves and leave the child, so they gave up on the idea.

By the time the child was two months old, Lin Ze had resumed his normal work.

    "Good morning, Lieutenant General Lin."

    "Good morning, Lieutenant General."

Arriving at the command center early in the morning, Lin Ze changed into his lab coat and headed to his office, greeting his subordinates one by one along the way.

Having been away from work for two months, it took Lin Ze a couple of days to readjust.

In the morning, he set goals for the next quarter and went with Lu Mo to inspect the mining site.

"Lieutenant General, aren't you joining us for lunch?" Lu Mo asked as Lin Ze changed out of his lab coat.

    "No, I'm going out."

    "Having lunch with General Li?"

Lin Ze shook his head somewhat uncomfortably. "I'm going alone."

After he left, Lu Mo stroked his chin, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Lin Ze didn't have many friends. Aside from Li Xiujin coming to pick him up for lunch, he usually ate in the cafeteria. This time, he was going out alone—something was definitely off.

Meanwhile, Lin Ze left the command center and headed to the nearest hotel. He locked himself in the bathroom, took off his jacket, and saw that his white shirt was already soaked through in two spots on his chest. He continued unbuttoning his shirt, revealing the cloth wrapped underneath, which was also damp.

Lin Ze covered his eyes. Whether he was talking to subordinates or inspecting the site, every slight movement made him feel the continuous flow...

After a moment of shame, he wiped away the milk stains around him...

Even though he couldn't squeeze out any more, his chest still felt painfully full. Lin Ze rewrapped the cloth, buttoned up his shirt, put his jacket back on, and returned to the command center.

Back at the command center, he became the gentle yet meticulous lieutenant general again. No one could guess that he was dealing with engorgement beneath his clothes...

For several days in a row, Lin Ze went out alone at noon.

Li Xiujin, who had reinstated surveillance on Lin Ze at the command center, noticed this.

One noon, he watched from his car as Lin Ze left the command center building and headed straight for a hotel.

"A hotel? What is Lieutenant General Lin doing at a hotel in the middle of the day?" Yang Yu exclaimed in disbelief.

Then, as if realizing something, he quickly defended Lin Ze. "Lin Ze is definitely not the type to be unfaithful or have an affair..."

"Shut up," Li Xiujin said coldly. He pushed open the car door, told Yang Yu not to follow, obtained a room key, and went straight to Lin Ze's room.

The room was empty, but faint sounds came from the bathroom. He pushed the door open and saw Lin Ze leaning against the wall, his cheeks slightly flushed as he massaged himself. His shirt hung loosely from his shoulders, damp and glistening slightly...

The small space was filled with the rich scent of milk...

Lin Ze's slightly unfocused eyes cleared, replaced by shock and shame.

"Xiu Jin, how... how did you find me here?"

"I just felt a bit uncomfortable, so I took advantage of my lunch break to... express it..." Lin Ze explained.

Li Xiujin walked over, picked him up, and carried him to the bed outside. "Why didn't you tell me?"

If he had, Li Xiujin would have made the trip to see him at noon.

"I didn't want you to have to come back and forth. I can handle it myself..."

    Li Xiujin frowned.

At night, Lin Ze's chest was so painfully engorged that he clung tightly to Li Xiujin's head, letting him use his mouth to help...

    "Mom, Mom..."

"Little master, your dad and mom aren't in the study. Come with Auntie to the living room."

"But I just saw Mom and Dad go upstairs together. They're not in the bedroom, so they must be in the study..."

"You didn't see, but your mom got a call and went out with your dad."

    "Really?" Li Chongyi asked, half-convinced.

    "Of course it's true."

Li Chongyi's voice echoed outside, and Lin Ze, who was sitting on Li Xiujin's lap, didn't dare make a sound...

Only when the footsteps faded away did Lin Ze lower his hands, his face flushed as he leaned against Li Xiujin's shoulder...

Before he could catch his breath, he was lifted, his entire body rising with Li Xiujin's movement. Afraid of falling, Lin Ze wrapped his arms tightly around Li Xiujin's neck...

    "Xiu Jin, wait..."

They were still connected, and Lin Ze spoke in embarrassment.

Li Xiujin ignored him, lowering his head to kiss him while continuing to move. With each jolt, Lin Ze felt as if his soul was about to leave his body, until his back pressed against the cold glass...

The force was so strong that the glass vibrated, and Lin Ze began to plead. "Xiu Jin..."

The response was even more intense...

When it was over, Lin Ze looked utterly ruined. His shirt hung loosely from his shoulders, his skin covered in bite marks, kiss marks, and scratches, still trembling with spasms...

Li Xiujin said, "From now on, I'll drive to your place at noon to have lunch with you."

When Li Chongyi was six years old, Li Yu and Li Shu were already three.

In the yard, wanting his younger siblings to enjoy the swing sooner while their parents were away, Li Chongyi sneaked past the servants and tried to assemble it himself.

His sleeves were rolled up halfway as he studied the instructions with a serious expression.

"Brother, what's this?" Li Yu pointed to a screw and asked.

"A screw," Li Chongyi answered earnestly.

    "What does a screw do?"

"It connects this long wooden board to the rope."

"Oh, I see." Li Yu gave a vigorous little nod.

Li Shu, beside him, chimed in, "What's this for?"

"This is for drilling holes in the tree."

    "Oh."

Accompanied by a sweet "oh," a sudden buzzing sound rang in Li Chongyi's ears.

Li Shu had picked up the power drill, turned it on, and was vigorously jabbing it into the tree.

Li Chongyi sprang up. "Li Shu! What are you doing? Put that down!"

"I'm helping you, big brother?" Li Shu said in a childish voice.

Li Chongyi felt a headache coming on. "I don't need that right now. Put it down."

"But big brother, I think this is so much fun." Li Shu giggled as she drilled. "I went right through the tree!"

Li Yu, sensing the danger, said slowly, "Little sister, you might get hurt."

Li Chongyi began backing away slowly, retreating to the power outlet, and yanked the plug out.

The power drill in Li Shu's hand, which had been buzzing and spinning wildly, stopped. Li Chongyi angrily snatched it away. "Li Shu, if you don't listen, I'll spank you for sure."

"Why can't you be quiet and behave like your second brother?"

Li Shu's little braids swayed, and in less than a second, her eyes welled up with tears.

"Don't cry. How about second brother takes you to catch butterflies?" Li Yu scooped Li Shu up into his arms, soothing her gently.

She nodded, then stuck her tongue out at Li Chongyi.

Li Chongyi said, "Just go. You're so annoying, you little pest."

    "You're the pest."

Li Chongyi didn't have time to argue with a three-year-old brat. He continued assembling the cradle that Li Yu and Li Shu wanted to play on. When Lin Ze returned, he saw Li Chongyi perched on a branch of the flowering tree in the yard, tapping away with a little hammer, while his younger siblings squatted under the tree, gazing up at him in awe.

Lin Ze's heart nearly leaped out of his chest. He didn't dare raise his voice. "Chong Yi, come down quickly."

Just finishing up, Li Chongyi, with the hammer still clenched in his teeth, nimbly climbed down from the tree. When he was close to the ground, he jumped and landed on the grass.

Having already forgotten their squabble, Li Shu and Li Yu cheered, rushing to hug Li Chongyi.

"Big brother, you're amazing! You're the best big brother in the whole world!"

    "Big brother, thank you."

Li Chongyi flashed a dismissive smile.

"Li Chongyi." Lin Ze said sternly.

"Didn't I tell you on the phone to wait for Dad to come back before assembling it?"

"Dad won't be back until tonight, but brother and sister can't wait!"

Li Shu and Li Yu let go of Li Chongyi and each clung to one of Lin Ze's legs. They looked up at him with their adorable faces and four big, round eyes.

    "Mom, don't blame big brother."

Lin Ze's heart immediately softened, but he still said, "What if you fell from the tree?"

"How could that happen! I come first in every sport at school, and Uncle Yang Yu taught me a lot of tree-climbing and wall-scaling tricks."

"Chong Yi, do you still think what you did was right?"

    Li Chongyi frowned.

Seeing he had the same temper as Xiu Jin, even the expression of anger was identical, Lin Ze could only sigh in helplessness.

Lin Ze ruffled his hair and said gently, "I know you did this because you wanted your brother and sister to play sooner. But it's very dangerous. If you fell from the tree and got hurt, your brother and sister would probably never stop crying."

"Dad and I would be heartbroken too."

    Li Chongyi grunted. "I understand."

When Li Xiujin returned and saw the cradle already assembled, he said, "Didn't we agree I would assemble it when I got back?"

If he found out that Li Chongyi had assembled it with Li Yu and Li Shu, Li Chongyi was in for a scolding. Lin Ze couldn't bear it, so he lied. "We did it together."

Li Xiujin frowned. "Let me see your hands."

    "Xiu Jin, I'm not hurt..."

    "Show me."

Lin Ze obediently held out his hands.

Seeing no injuries, Li Xiujin's expression softened.

However, they couldn't keep it from Li Xiujin for long. Li Shu and Li Yu soon let it slip.

Li Xiujin pressed Lin Ze against the floor-to-ceiling window in the bedroom, sucking on his earlobe. "You just spoil him."

Lin Ze didn't know how the truth had come out. Breathing unsteadily, he said, "Xiu Jin, I... I already lectured him."

"Was that a lecture? Just a few words?"

Lin Ze felt slightly ashamed. "Chong Yi... he knows he was wrong... and he promised me he wouldn't do it again."

    "Xiu Jin, don't be angry..."

Li Xiujin scoffed coldly. "Spread your legs wider."
