Chapter 32 Fairy Tale
by 以万物为死狗Chapter 32: Fairy Tale
At this moment, he rose, holding a wine glass in one hand, and stood before Cui Ji, already treating him like a good buddy. "Brother, all the words are in this glass! Bottoms up!"
With that, he clinked glasses with Cui Ji quite forcefully and chugged it.
He wiped his mouth with his hand, feeling it wasn’t enough, so he grabbed the jug and took a swig straight from the bottle.
Bending down, he shoved another jug into Cui Ji’s hand, propping one foot on the chair’s rung. "Come on, play a drinking game with your dad!"
Cui Ji: "..."
Steward: "???"
"Tch! Hurry up..." Cheng Ge slapped Cui Ji on the thigh and yelled.
A moment later...
"Five in a row!"
"Three stars bright!"
"Brothers unite!"
"Four seasons rich!"
"Drink!"
Unsurprisingly, Cheng Ge was no match for Cui Ji. After just a few rounds, he had already downed a bellyful of booze.
Cheng Ge, of course, refused to accept defeat. Back in the day, he was the king of drinking games in City A, and now losing to Cui Ji pissed him off.
His face flushed red, and he yelled to keep playing.
Cui Ji looked at the drunk and babbling Cheng Ge and shook his head helplessly.
Just then, Cheng Ge burped, swayed, and almost fell off the chair.
Cui Ji reacted quickly and grabbed him.
Cheng Ge staggered a couple of steps, then without thinking, plopped down on Cui Ji’s lap.
He thought to himself that the prince’s mansion was awesome—even the chairs were soft, and he wiggled his butt contentedly.
He muttered, "No way, let’s do it again... Let’s play rock-paper-scissors."
The steward stood by, stunned, unsure what to do.
Cui Ji tensed up at first, but after enduring several rounds of Cheng Ge’s mental barrage, he had apparently built up immunity.
He casually reached out to support Cheng Ge’s lower back so he wouldn’t fall.
Cheng Ge, still unaware that he was sitting on the disabled big shot’s thigh, happily started playing rock-paper-scissors with Cui Ji.
Finally, when Cheng Ge realized that he had only extended his middle finger while showing paper, he realized he might be a bit tipsy.
At this point, it was definitely not the time for competitive games.
"Brother, I think I’m out. Let’s drink again next time. Tomorrow... *burp*... I have to study with the Crown Prince."
With that, he pushed off Cui Ji’s head, stood up, swaying, and staggered toward the door.
Cui Ji let out a soft sigh and said, "Curfew’s on."
Hearing this, Cheng Ge slowly turned around, a confused look in his eyes. "Cur...few? No more food... *burp*... I’m a bit full."
Everyone: "..." A silence so deep, even King Arthur couldn’t break it.
Cheng Ge seemed to remember something and turned back to the table, grabbing two plates of large pork knuckles.
"To-go, can’t waste it..."
Silence, round two.
Cheng Ge clutched the two plates of pork knuckles and staggered out.
"So... love hasn’t left me~
Your love gets me drunk, I don’t mind~
How can I feel the buzz if I’m too sober...
Your love is like a cup of coffee that’s too strong~
Keeps me up all night long, I love this feeling~"
Cui Ji watched the retreating figure and let out a heavy sigh, feeling a little sorry for himself.
After a long while, the steward spoke up: "Your Highness, this Master Cheng..."
Cui Ji rubbed his temples and said, "Get a guest room ready."
The steward immediately understood and left to carry out the order.
Cui Ji slowly lowered his hand and gazed out the window.
A faint ray of light filtered in, casting a shadow across his face.
He was silent for a moment, then suddenly waved his hand into the air.
From the empty darkness, a shadowy figure appeared like a ghost.
When Cui Ji found Cheng Ge, he was sitting on the threshold of the mansion’s main gate.
And beside him sat a bunch of little kids, each holding a piece of pork knuckle, chewing, their mouths all greasy.
"One day, Snow White kissed a frog, and the frog turned into a prince..."
Cui Ji: "..." His temples throbbed with pain.
"Wow~ And then? Did they end up together?" A little kid tugged at his sleeve and asked eagerly.
Cheng Ge shook his index finger. "The prince knelt on one knee and said to the princess, ‘I have a great wish. Can you grant it?’
The princess blushed and said, ‘Of course.’
So the prince pulled a frog from his sleeve, and the frog croaked at the princess.
The princess instantly turned into an old man..."
"Ah..." The kids let out a disappointed "Ah..."
"There were two big mountains right in front of the old man's house, and he had to walk all the way around them every day, so he decided to start digging them up.
He dug and dug, dug and dug...
Someone asked him, 'Can you finish digging all by yourself?'
The old man said, 'When I die, my kids and grandkids will keep going forever and ever, and we can keep digging and digging...'
Then that person asked him, 'But do you have a wife?'"
"Hahaha, I'm dead..." The kids were cracking up, doubled over laughing.
"The old man got pissed off and embarrassed, found a little girl selling gunpowder, bought a pack from her, and blew up the mountain.
Guess what happened next?"
"What happened?" The little ones' eyes were wide open, full of anticipation.
Cheng Ge said mysteriously, "The mountain went 'whoosh' and out popped a stone monkey! The monkey had a piece of jade in its mouth, and I heard he's the reincarnation of the Golden Cicada..."
The little kids usually trained all day, so even with this kind of brainless story, they were totally into it, forgetting to even chew their meat.
"Later..."
"Later, you need to hit the sack." A flat voice suddenly came from behind them.
At those words, the kids instantly froze, feeling a creepy chill in the air that made them shiver.
Cheng Ge turned around, his mouth still greasy, his eyes lit up looking at Cui Ji.
He just scooted his butt over and patted the empty spot beside him.
"You're here, come on, sit."
Cui Ji stared at Cheng Ge in front of him, his mouth twitched a few times, but in the end, he didn't say anything to that face.
Seeing Cui Ji standing still and staring at him, a lightbulb suddenly went off in his head—he almost forgot this guy had trouble walking.
Cheng Ge quickly stood up, grabbed both sides of Cui Ji's wheelchair, and carried him straight to the empty spot on the doorstep.
After sitting down, he didn't forget to hand Cui Ji a piece of pork elbow, "Here, go on, eat while you listen."
Cui Ji felt like he'd never been this speechless in his life, and said in a cold voice, "Go back to bed."
But Cheng Ge just let out a cold laugh, in a super cocky tone, "Sleep? Who needs sleep? Only people who don't contribute to society sleep."
As soon as he finished speaking, Cheng Ge was grabbed under the armpits by two shadow guards and hauled off, looking like a pig about to get scalded for slaughter.
Cheng Ge was held in the air by the guards, his legs flailing, cursing and yelling the whole time.
"What are you doing! I've done my time for the sect, I've bled for the sect! I'm going to complain to the top! I'm going to complain to the top..."
