Chapter 34 Gnawing Pork Knuckles
by 以万物为死狗Chapter 34: Pig Trotter Bite
Cui Ji sighed helplessly and patted Cheng Ge on the shoulder. "Go sleep in the bed."
Cheng Ge irritably swatted Cui Ji's hand away, grinding his teeth. "Don't bother me, man."
Cui Ji stared at his face for about ten seconds, got so mad he stood up, reached out, and yanked Cheng Ge out of the bath.
He'd been recovering from his injuries for three months now, and even though he wasn't fully healed yet, he could already walk on his own.
Good thing Cheng Ge was dead asleep; otherwise, if he'd seen this, he'd have jumped up and cursed Cui Ji out, calling him a dog.
Cheng Ge was tall and lean, but in Cui Ji's arms, he looked kind of delicate.
Water droplets slid down his body, soaking Cui Ji's clothes.
Cui Ji quickly turned his face away, not daring to look too much, and quickly threw the white undergarment from the screen over him in a few quick moves.
Cui Ji carried Cheng Ge, wrapped in the undergarment, horizontally to the bed. His moves were a bit rough, but he still carefully laid him down flat.
Just as he was about to cover him with a blanket, Cheng Ge, still asleep, unconsciously grabbed Cui Ji's wrist, mumbling, "Pig trotter..."
Cui Ji froze for a second, staring at Cheng Ge's closed eyes and reddened lips, and felt his wrist get kind of hot.
He tried to pull his hand back, but Cheng Ge held on tight and just opened his mouth and bit down.
Cui Ji: "..."
At his wit's end, he reached out and pinched Cheng Ge's cheek hard. Cheng Ge finally let go, barely, but he still held onto his wrist.
"Are you a dog?" Looking at his index finger, covered in a layer of spit, with two neat rows of teeth marks on it, Cui Ji's face was black as coal.
He slapped his cheek a few times with his palm. Cheng Ge, feeling the pain, muttered vaguely, "Damn, you bastard."
But even as he cursed, Cheng Ge still didn't let go, like a dog guarding its food.
Cui Ji watched the red mark on his cheek and, for some reason, pulled his hand back.
Just then, Cheng Ge suddenly opened his eyes, looking at Cui Ji with a dazed expression.
The next second, he broke into a grin. "Hehe." He laughed twice and pulled Cui Ji's hand closer to his chest.
Cui Ji was totally speechless and directly pried Cheng Ge's hand off, but as soon as he freed that claw,
Cheng Ge wrapped around him like an octopus, pressing his whole body onto Cui Ji.
Cui Ji: "..."
The nearby shadow guard quickly covered his eyes, a lewd grin spreading across his face.
Cui Ji could clearly feel the heat radiating from Cheng Ge's body and his rapid breathing, and his face reddened all the way to his ears.
Just as Cui Ji was panicking, Cheng Ge suddenly leaned close to his ear, bit his earlobe, and murmured softly, "Tasty... soft..." then smacked his lips.
Cui Ji's mind went blank, his breath nearly stopped, and he frantically shoved the person on top of him away.
Cheng Ge's body suddenly lost its support, rolling twice quickly into the bed, and his head hit the bedpost with a thud.
"Ow... bastard..." Cheng Ge whimpered in pain, grabbing a nearby soft pillow and hugging it.
Soon, Cui Ji heard a low snoring sound from beside him.
Cui Ji lay on the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the canopy above, looking like a maiden who had just lost her chastity.
After a long while, Cui Ji glanced sideways at the sleeping scoundrel, then got up and left.
The next day, Cheng Ge was practically shaken awake, still feeling dizzy.
"Master Cheng, you're finally awake," the attending servant said anxiously. "The prince ordered you to get up quickly for breakfast, as you need to head to the palace early for duty."
The servant hadn't expected this young master to be such a heavy sleeper, having called him over a dozen times without any response.
"Uh... okay, I got it," Cheng Ge said, getting out of bed with his eyes still closed and heading out.
"Master, first wash up and change clothes."
Cheng Ge finally opened his eyes groggily, looking at the unfamiliar surroundings. "Where is this?"
The servant quickly explained, "Master, this is the Prince Cui's residence. You got drunk on wine last night, so the prince arranged for you to stay here."
Cheng Ge tried to recall last night's events, only remembering drinking some green plum wine, with no memory after that.
He scratched his head, a bit embarrassed, wondering if he had made a fool of himself.
After washing up and changing, Cheng Ge followed the servant to breakfast.
As soon as he entered the dining hall, he saw Cui Ji sitting at the table, his expression cold.
Cheng Ge's heart tightened, and he braced himself, stepping forward with a cupped-hand salute. "Greetings, Your Highness."
Cui Ji glanced up at him but said nothing.
Cheng Ge gave a dry laugh. "Um... thank you for your care last night, Your Highness."
Cui Ji turned his face away and said coldly, "Eat first. Afterward, someone will escort you to the palace."
"Oh, alright." As soon as Cheng Ge sat down, a bowl of pigeon congee was placed before him.
Cheng Ge watched the hand that withdrew from his view, noticing two glaring teeth marks on the index finger.
He paused, then sneaked a glance at Cui Ji, inwardly marveling.
Indeed, you can't judge a book by its cover. This Cui Ji, looking so imposing, actually had a habit of gnawing on his fingers.
The image of Cui Ji sleeping with his finger in his mouth flashed through his mind, and he couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Still not sober?" Cui Ji suddenly spoke.
Cheng Ge took a sip of the congee, confused by the question, and turned to look at him. "Huh? What's wrong?"
Cui Ji's grip on the porcelain spoon tightened, feeling an itch at the spot bitten last night.
His gaze involuntarily fell on Cheng Ge's lips, his skin still faintly recalling the warmth from there.
Cheng Ge, feeling uneasy under his stare, subconsciously touched his mouth. "Your Highness, is there something on my lips?"
Cui Ji snapped back to reality, as if testing him. "Did you rest well last night?"
Cheng Ge was focused on picking up a spring roll and answered without thinking, "It was alright."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Cheng Ge suddenly realized his response had been a bit too casual, and he rubbed the back of his head, a little embarrassed.
However, the moment his hand touched the back of his head, a jolt of pain shot through him, making him gasp involuntarily.
"Hiss..." Cheng Ge frowned and muttered to himself, "No wonder my head felt a bit sore this morning... how'd I get a bump..."
Cui Ji was speechless.
The second Cheng Ge finished speaking, there was a clang as a pair of chopsticks fell to the ground.
Cheng Ge looked at Cui Ji in confusion, only to see Cui Ji looked a little panicked. Before Cheng Ge could say anything, Cui Ji immediately called for a guard and said, "Take me to the training ground."
"Your Highness, you sure you don't want more?" Cheng Ge asked instinctively, glancing at Cui Ji's bowl of porridge, which had barely been touched.
"No need." Cui Ji's answer was unusually cold and curt.
Cheng Ge looked at his own hand, ready to scoop a third bowl of porridge, and thought to himself, Do all these ancient people have bird-sized stomachs or what?
Then how did that guy manage to grow so big?
