Chapter 85 Catching Adultery
by 以万物为死狗Chapter 85: Catching a Cheater
For no other reason, Cheng Ge was simply not destined for good fortune—he could not bear even the slightest loss.
Thinking about his dad getting bullied like that, if he had to just take it, he might as well throw himself into a pond and be a thousand-year-old turtle.
He crouched low and lurked quietly. Before long, he saw Zhang Qinghang walk out of the Hanlin Academy.
Cheng Ge adjusted the veiled hat on his head and quickly followed.
Now, he had almost no leads, but he knew this matter must involve the Zhang family.
Zhang Qinghang boarded his carriage, and Cheng Ge followed behind. If he remembered correctly, this wasn't the way to the Zhang house.
Still, walking was slower than a carriage, and it was easy to be discovered.
After following them for a short while, he nearly got caught.
Just then, he spotted a young guy about to board a carriage. Cheng Ge quickly stepped forward.
"Bro, could I borrow your carriage?"
Zhou Yinyun frowned, looking Cheng Ge up and down. "Who are you, and why should I lend you my carriage?"
Cheng Ge's eyes darted as he thought fast. He lowered his voice, acting embarrassed.
"To be honest, I just saw my wife sneaking into a stranger's carriage."
"I've loved her since we were kids, but she treats me like dirt. Now it seems she has found a new lover outside."
He even pretended to wipe away fake tears, his voice sounding stuffy, like he was holding back tears.
"I just want to see what the guy looks like, and how he managed to steal her heart."
"Catch them in the act!" Zhou Yinyun's eyes lit up instantly, his face reddening with excitement. No one could resist such temptation.
"What are we waiting for? Chase after them!" Zhou Yinyun grabbed Cheng Ge and scrambled into his carriage.
"Hurry! Don't let him get away!" The coachman, without waiting for the two to settle, cracked the whip and charged forward.
Cheng Ge was thrown backward, nearly tumbling out, his veiled hat tilting askew.
Zhou Yinyun instinctively steadied him, then caught a glimpse of Cheng Ge's face. He froze for a moment.
"Bro, is your wife a goddess?"
Cheng Ge straightened his hat, puzzled by the sudden question.
"Of course. Have you heard of Cao Zijian's *Ode to the Goddess of the Luo River*?"
Zhou Yinyun nodded wildly. "Of course—'Her splendor rivals autumn chrysanthemums, her luxuriance rivals spring pines. Fleeting as the moon veiled by light clouds, fluttering as the snow carried by a returning breeze...'"
"Tsk, pretty much like that." Cheng Ge raised an eyebrow, lying without blushing or missing a beat.
Zhou Yinyun was ecstatic, slapping his thigh. "So such a beauty truly exists in this world!"
The carriage sped all the way until it stopped before a secluded courtyard.
Zhang Qinghang's carriage was already parked at the entrance; he had clearly gone inside.
Several other luxurious carriages were also parked there, suggesting a gathering inside.
"Bro, thanks a lot. I'll treat you to a meal next time!" Cheng Ge clasped his hands in salute and turned to get off the carriage.
Zhou Yinyun was instantly anxious. No way! Without thinking, he grabbed Cheng Ge's sleeve.
"It's too dangerous for you to go alone. Let me protect you! Another brother means more backup."
Cheng Ge hesitated, thinking this guy actually had a damn good point.
Cheng Ge and Zhou Yinyun got off the carriage, crouching low as they crept along the courtyard wall.
Zhou Yinyun checked ahead, confirmed it was safe, and waved back at Cheng Ge behind him.
They moved carefully. They couldn't use the main gate; they had to find another way.
Zhou Yinyun pulled Cheng Ge closer, and they crouched down carefully.
"Look." Zhou Yinyun pointed stealthily at the dog hole at the base of the wall, whispering.
Cheng Ge glanced at the dog hole and gave him a thumbs-up—five-star rating.
"Bro, you go in first. I'll cover the rear."
Zhou Yinyun didn't think much of it; he was too excited.
He pushed aside the weeds around the dog hole and squeezed in on his belly.
At first, it went smoothly, but, of course, something had to go wrong.
"Dammit! Bro, my ass is stuck! Help me!" Zhou Yinyun called out in a low, panicked voice.
Cheng Ge stared at his stuck ass and almost burst out laughing, but time was critical, so he didn't tease.
Without hesitation, he lifted his foot and pressed it against Zhou Yinyun's ass, pushing hard inward.
"Ugh!" Zhou Yinyun grunted in pain, but he remained completely stuck.
Cheng Ge was sweating bullets, totally speechless. "Stop sticking your ass out. Pull it in a little."
"I'm not sticking it out. It's just all fat." Zhou Yinyun's voice sounded really miserable.
Cheng Ge: "..."
Zhou Yinyun felt completely embarrassed, lying on the ground hopeless.
Just then, a soft rustling sound came from above. He looked up and saw Cheng Ge jumping down from the courtyard wall.
Zhou Yinyun: "..." This makes me look like a complete clown.
Cheng Ge leaned down, looking concerned. "You good? Can you get out?"
"Why didn't you make me climb over the wall?" Zhou Yinyun asked with a hint of resentment.
"Could you even climb up there?" Cheng Ge asked bluntly.
Zhou Yinyun: "..." He couldn't argue back and felt like killing Cheng Ge to shut him up.
Cheng Ge planted his feet against the wall, grabbed Zhou Yinyun under his armpits, and started pulling him out like a carrot.
"Dude, is the food at your place really that good?" Cheng Ge asked through gritted teeth, his face flushed.
"How do you know?" Zhou Yinyun stared at Cheng Ge in shock.
Cheng Ge looked at the fat on Zhou's cheeks. "I guessed."
Cheng Ge took a deep breath and held it, then yanked him inward with all his strength.
He turned his head and glanced at Dahuang, who was standing nearby with his tongue out, waiting for them.
He said soothingly, "Hold on a bit longer, it'll be over soon."
Finally, under Cheng Ge's relentless efforts, Zhou Yinyun was successfully dragged into the yard.
The two leaned against the wall, their chests heaving violently.
Dahuang glanced sideways at Zhou Yinyun, then turned back and started frantically digging dirt by the dog door.
The two entered the yard, dodged the servants, and stealthily crept to the back courtyard.
As soon as they got close, they heard the sound of men and women flirting, raucous.
A cool breeze carried the evening, and the moon rose above the willow tops.
Two heads peeked out sneakily from the round floral window, peering into the small yard.
When they saw the scene inside, their worldviews were nearly shattered.
Zhou Yinyun covered his mouth, breathing heavily against the wall, couldn't snap out of it after recalling that chaotic scene.
Shameless, depraved—no better than animals.
He turned to look at Cheng Ge, his eyes full of sympathy. "Man, take it easy."
