Chapter 32: Who’s the Little Fox Spirit About to Ripen

Either way, reuniting with his brother should make Xie Huanxiang happy.

So he shifted back into a little fox, jumping into his brother’s arms to act cute and beg for pets.

“Huanxiang, are you still going to the Liuyun Immortal Sect?” The Archdemon, who’d been quiet the whole time, stepped closer.

“Xiangbao, is this your friend?” Xie Jiuyan asked, skillfully stroking the little fox’s head.

Xie Huanxiang purred contentedly, squinting his crescent-shaped eyes, and said lazily, “This is a servant I picked up in a dream. He’s great at combing tail fur.”

“So, a servant,” Xie Jiuyan said with a smile. “But Xiangbao has his brother now, so no need for extra servants. It’s time to say goodbye to him.”

Xie Huanxiang rose from his brother’s arms and turned to look at the Archdemon.

The Archdemon silently stepped back, then turned and walked into a rift, vanishing from sight.

“Your servant seems kinda unhappy,” Xie Jiuyan raised an eyebrow.

Xie Huanxiang blinked, confused. “Is he? Brother, you don’t know him—he’s just naturally quiet.”

    “Xiangbao knows him that well?”

Xie Huanxiang hummed smugly. “I’m really smart.”

Xie Jiuyan smiled without a word, carrying the little fox as he headed east.

Xie Huanxiang poked his head out, looking past Xie Jiuyan’s shoulder at the faint silhouette of a floating pagoda hidden in the clouds behind them.

Once he’d comforted his brother, he’d have to keep up his undercover work. Xie Huanxiang licked his paw solemnly.

His brother might be the worst person in the world, but he was also the best brother ever.

Everyone—humans and demons alike—could hate his brother, but not him.

He was dumb, but only he could save his brother.

Xie Huanxiang curled up in Xie Jiuyan’s arms, belly-up, showing off his round, fluffy stomach covered in light fur, his eyes half-closed as he soaked in his brother’s gentle touch.

Among close fox kin, grooming and licking each other’s fur was a normal thing.

They arrived at a cave to rest for a bit. After all, the little fox spirit had low cultivation and was delicate, couldn’t handle much strain. Everything else could wait until he was well-rested.

This cave was one Xie Jiuyan had gotten when he left Cangshan years ago, and all the decorations were to the little fox’s taste.

A fierce-looking beast carried a small wooden basin of hot water into the room, set it down respectfully, and backed out.

“Did these beasts save you from the tower, brother?” Xie Huanxiang obediently hopped into the basin.

As soon as his fluffy fur hit the water, it clung to his body, showing off the little fox’s naturally slender frame.

On his bare head, his fox ears looked huge.

Xie Huanxiang glanced at his reflection in the water and immediately ducked back under.

A furless fox was totally ugly!

“These beasts were trapped in the Tonghua Secret Realm for ages, only running into humans once every hundred years. Those humans hunted them down without mercy, so they’ve held a grudge for a long time. I just gave them a hand,” Xie Jiuyan said, eyes down as he skillfully bathed the little fox.

“But brother, you were locked in the tower. How’d you help them?”

“All it took was a bit of fox fur,” Xie Jiuyan replied.

“Then if I give someone my fox fur, will they listen to me too?”

“When my good little one becomes a little fox immortal, you won’t need fox fur to make everyone listen.”

Xie Huanxiang tilted his head, confused. “Little fox immortal? Brother, aren’t I a demon?”

“Does Xiangbao want to be a god?” Xie Jiuyan smiled. “A little god, above everyone else.”

Xie Huanxiang stared at him blankly. “But brother, no one in the three realms has ever really become a god. Gods are just made up in stories.”

“Maybe,” Xie Jiuyan said softly as he scrubbed the little fox’s paws, “just think of it as something I said off the cuff.”

Xie Huanxiang was a bit ticklish, splashing his paws in the basin and getting water all over Xie Jiuyan.

“Brother, I’m a big fox now. I wash myself.”

“In your brother’s eyes, Xiangbao will always be a baby fox.” Xie Jiuyan pinched the back of his neck, lifting the fox’s head out of the water. Before he could grab a cloth to dry him, Xie Huanxiang shook his head, flinging water everywhere.

Xie Huanxiang grinned, blinking innocently. After being dried by the scorching demon power, he was a fluffy, beautiful little fox again.

He happily jumped onto the couch, grabbing a corner of the blanket with his mouth to build a nest. “Brother, we can sleep in the same den!”

Before bed, Xie Jiuyan gave him a candy.

“Brother, what’s this?” Xie Huanxiang stared at the colorful little pill offered to his mouth, sniffing it and tentatively licking it with his tongue.

It was a bit sweet, vaguely like the colorful sugar pills his brother had fed him when he cried as a kid.

“This is a candy, a welcome gift from your brother to Xiangbao,” Xie Jiuyan said, gently stroking his head. “From now on, I’ll give you a treat every day, okay?”

Xie Huanxiang loved sweet things and gulped it down.

It was really sweet. He liked it.

Seeing him swallow it, Xie Jiuyan’s smile deepened.

The little red fox curled up in the white nine-tailed fox’s arms and fell into a deep sleep.

But the sleep was restless after midnight. Xie Huanxiang felt unbearably hot, like he was soaked in boiling water.

He couldn’t take the heat, sweat beading on his nose as he groggily opened his eyes. “Brother, I feel terrible.”

But the fox nest was empty. His brother was nowhere to be seen, only a red circle of demon power around him on the couch.

In the dead of night, Xie Jiuyan was gone.

Xie Huanxiang shifted into human form, pulled a Demon Heart Fragment from his brocade pouch, and placed it under the fox nest. As his consciousness faded, he finally fell into a slightly cool embrace.

“Huanxiang, now that you have your brother, why do you still think of me?” The man’s cold voice pierced his ears, but Xie Huanxiang’s head was splitting, and he couldn’t make out what the man was saying. He didn’t notice that the man let him sit on his lap without holding him steady as he was about to slip off, just rubbing himself against the man’s tail.

He hugged the Archdemon’s tail, pressing his burning cheek against the cold, hard scales. His snow-white thighs, already bare of underpants from the heat, unconsciously clamped around the thick base of the tail, ignoring the red marks left by the friction.

The little fox’s condition was too obvious.

“My Lord,” a subordinate below coughed lightly, “I’ve heard that when fox cubs reach adulthood, they experience a fierce heat period. The Young Mistress is probably…”

The man was silent for a moment, then said in a calm voice, "All of you, leave."

In the blink of an eye, the demons in the hall vanished, not daring to stay and watch their My Lord’s ‘putting on a show’.

The Archdemon carried the little fox spirit to the couch.

As soon as he set the fox spirit down, he sank into the soft bedding.

The sharp, ridged scales of his tail slowly parted Xie Huanxiang’s robe.

The little fox spirit’s legs were straight and long, his skin snow-white, constantly giving off a ripe, seductive scent that drew in any male.

The Archdemon lowered his head and silently eased his tension.
