    Chapter 15

Fu Han looked at the mess on the floor, losing all appetite to continue eating. Once Lanxiu's figure disappeared, he slapped his chopsticks down on the table.

Throwing a fit? Who's he throwing it at?

Gray kept his head down, not daring to say a word from start to finish. He had felt the overwhelming pressure of world-ending destruction when Lanxiu got angry earlier, but watching Fu Han lose his temper now made that seem like child's play.

Because he didn't even dare to breathe, okay?

Seeing Fu Han holding his chin silently for a long time, Dr. Gray gingerly set down his chopsticks and said softly, "Hey, Little Fu, don't take it personally. It wasn't aimed at you. Whenever his pre-military days come up, he acts like this with everyone. It'll blow over soon. I'll remind him to apologize to you later."

Fu Han managed a polite smile. "I'm not upset. I just think he's crazy. It's fine, Dr. Gray, take your time eating."

With that, he gave a faint smile and headed up to the second floor.

Given the situation, Gray had no appetite left. He put down his bowl, sighed, and texted his assistant to rearrange his schedule. That old bastard Lanxiu had relapsed into his old habits, and Gray couldn't just leave two grumpy people to sort themselves out.

Fu Han went upstairs. Passing by Lanxiu's room, he noticed the door was wide open, but no one was inside. His heart suddenly raced. Could he be in Fu Han's room?

Fu Han crept to his own door and slowly turned the handle. He saw Lanxiu sitting with his back to him in front of a mirror on the wall, taking out a black animal mask from a drawer and gently caressing it. His movements were careful, as if handling a precious, fragile item.

The curtains in the room were half-drawn, and the thin sunlight made it feel like dusk was approaching. Lanxiu leaned back in his chair, his silhouette glowing white against the light and shadows.

After a long moment, Lanxiu slowly lifted the mask. Fu Han thought he was going to put it on, but instead, the man suddenly lowered his head and pressed a long, tender kiss onto the mouth of the mask.

Seeing the line where Lanxiu's lips met the mask, Fu Han covered his mouth in shock.

    He just kissed a mask...

Countless possibilities flashed through Fu Han's mind, but none of them were easy to accept. Dazed, he walked to the end of the hallway and leaned against the wall, gasping for breath, the bizarre scene still replaying in his mind.

Why? Why would he kiss a mask?

As he imagined the answer, Fu Han unconsciously bit his lower lip. Then a thought struck him. Maybe Lanxiu wasn't trying to kiss the mask, but the person who had once worn it...

After Lanxiu had calmed down, he saw Fu Han sitting on the staircase reading a book. Leaning against the railing, Fu Han didn't even lift his head as Lanxiu approached. He's definitely sulking.

    "You mad, kid?"

Lanxiu, as usual, reached out to pinch Fu Han's cheek, but Fu Han closed his book and brushed right past him without a word, his face expressionless.

Lanxiu shook his head to himself. Though it was mostly his fault—he lost control of his emotions—but this kid sure has a short fuse.

Still, this was the cub he chose, so he had to make it up to him even if it meant begging.

After getting the cold shoulder, Lanxiu grinned and followed, draping his arm over Fu Han's shoulder. A perfectly natural gesture, but Fu Han found it unbearably awkward and grabbed his wrist and shoved it off.

    "Don't touch me."

Lanxiu was stunned. "You never said anything when I put my arm around you before, so what's the deal now?"

"I was wrong to stay silent then. But now I'm telling you: I'm disgusted. It annoys me. Don't touch me."

The last few words were emphasized heavily, and with the icy look in his eyes, even knowing Fu Han was sulking, Lanxiu couldn't hold back.

He grabbed Fu Han's wrist, pinned him against the wall, and pressed his elbow against his thin shoulder blade, rendering him completely immobile.

"You can throw a tantrum, but there's a limit. I spoil you like a kid, but you're not acting like an adult at all. Do you blow up like a powder keg in front of your family too?"

Fu Han struggled beneath him, but after a few futile attempts, found it impossible to move. His body gave in, but his heart rebelled even more fiercely.

He let out a cold laugh. "Of course not. But you're not my family. You're just my Breeder Master."

Lanxiu was absolutely fuming at Fu Han's words, yet he was utterly helpless. He had fought in wars for decades, seen all kinds of tough nuts, and had countless ways to break them.

But the person pinned beneath him wasn't a prisoner he could interrogate; it was the cub he cherished. He couldn't beat him, couldn't even curse him—his heart would ache just thinking about it.

Lanxiu suddenly laughed softly against Fu Han's ear. "Fine then. Since you say I'm not family but just your Breeder Master, I should do what a Breeder Master does."

At these words, Lanxiu felt Fu Han's body stiffen.

Before Fu Han could react, he felt himself being lifted off the ground as Lanxiu scooped him up. Watching the bedroom door getting closer, he thrashed around in panic.

"Let me go! You crazy old man!"

When Fu Han was thrown onto the bed, the world seemed to float around him, spinning endlessly. Shaking off his dizziness, he barely managed to sit up, only to be pushed back onto the bed by the shoulders.

Fu Han watched Lanxiu lean in, his breath hot. Even though he looked like a Norvara god, right now he was absolutely terrifying.

With his body completely unable to resist, his fear was magnified a thousand times over. Fu Han felt a sharp pain and throb in his chest—not just fear, but an inexplicable sadness.

Why would he feel sad when he was about to be violated? Sad about his own cowardice and weakness?

Lanxiu saw Fu Han, who had been so cold a moment ago, suddenly stop struggling. His chest heaved violently like a fish out of water, his lips pursed as tears streamed down his cheeks onto the bedsheet. He cried without a sound.

    "Hey, I didn't mean to—"

He had only wanted to scare him, but now the little cub was crying. Lanxiu was completely caught off guard.

He sat on the bed and carefully lifted Fu Han, patting his back gently, letting him rest his head on his shoulder. "Don't cry. I was just so pissed off I tried to scare you. See, I didn't even take off my pants. If I had any filthy intentions, would I have waited until now? You've been staying at my place for days."

Instead of calming him, the coaxing made the cub cry out loud, as if Lanxiu had actually done something to him.

Fu Han didn't know why so many tears were flowing. He could only feel his eyes growing wetter as he lay weak in Lanxiu's arms, like a wronged kid who couldn't tell anyone.

Downstairs, Dr. Gray had just finished cleaning up and wanted to talk to Lanxiu. But as he passed the door, he heard Fu Han crying. It startled him—based on his impression, Fu Han wasn't the type to cry.

But upstairs, it was only Fu Han and Lanxiu. Surely the old man wasn't the one crying?

Gray hesitated outside, wondering whether to go in, when he heard a sharp slap.

Hell, they're even fighting now? What's going on?

He couldn't stand by any longer. Dr. Gray burst in, ready to break them apart, only to find Lanxiu kneeling on the floor, his own face red from a slap, while Fu Han sat on the bed crying and hiccupping.

    Gray: "..."

    Was his entrance unnecessary?

After a few words of comfort, Gray pulled Lanxiu out and let Fu Han rest in the room. Once outside, Gray kicked Lanxiu in the leg—neither too hard nor too soft, but leaving a clear shoe print on his pants. The man who got kicked turned and glared at him with a look that said, 'Do you have a death wish?'

Gray blustered back. "What are you looking at? That kick was for Little Fu. You're old enough to know better—shameless and despicable!"

"Who's shameless and despicable?" Lanxiu narrowed his eyes and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. To apologize, he had hit himself hard, splitting his lip. The taste of blood filled his mouth.

Gray backed off. "I saw the finger marks on Little Fu's neck. You must have tried to force him! You said before you saw him as your own child. Now you've finally shown your true beastly nature!"

"Damn it." Lanxiu's fists clenched audibly. "Looks like you didn't get enough of that fertility booster drink the other day. Want another bottle?"

Dr. Gray watched him stride forward menacingly, quickly shuffled his feet and wisely backed away, only to find a wall behind him. He hastily crossed his arms in front of his chest, putting up his hands in a defensive stance, and said, "I'm telling you, don't take your anger out on me. You're the one who made Little Fu cry!"

Hearing this, Lanxiu stopped in his tracks and ran a hand through his hair in frustration.

He had never imagined that raising a child would be harder than piloting a mecha into space. Thank goodness he didn't listen to the government’s advice to get married early; otherwise, the house would be a madhouse if he had kids.

Leaning against the stair railing, Lanxiu looked like a heartbroken old man, his helpless expression even making Gray chuckle.

"Just explain that matter to him properly, and Little Fu will definitely understand you. I can tell the kid actually likes you quite a bit."

"Huh?" Lanxiu was still worrying when Gray's words almost made him choke with laughter. "Stop kidding around. Liking me? Right now he can't stand me. All he says is 'get lost' all day long."

    "That's tsundere."

Lanxiu blinked. "What does that mean?"

Gray rolled his eyes at this old guy who's totally out of touch. "It means saying the opposite of what you really feel!"

Lanxiu pondered Gray's words for a moment. "You're saying he actually likes me in his heart, but says he hates me out loud?"

Gray nodded. Lanxiu immediately broke into a grin. "I knew it. With me being such a mighty and loaded grandfather, the irresistible combo of my good looks and money, no one could resist. I knew he really wanted to be my grandson! Haha! Such a little rascal. Hey, Gray, what's with that look?"

Dr. Gray gave a dry chuckle. "Now I finally understand why Little Fu always tells you to get lost."

    "Why?"

    "Get lost!"
