Chapter 47: Baby, Don’t Let Me See Traces of Others on You Again
by 糖甜宝贝Chapter 47: Baby, Don't Let Me See Someone Else's Marks on You Again
Fu Chenzhan sat on the high stool, his long legs stretched out casually, a painting laid out in front of him.
His gaze moved from the painting to Chi Xingcun.
"Come here," he said coolly.
Chi Xingcun ignored him, standing there without moving.
"Fu Chenzhan, I'll go talk to them myself. Stop coming to find me. From now on, let's just act like strangers."
Even though telling them himself would be tough, he didn't want to give Fu Chenzhan another reason to meet up with him.
He turned to leave after saying that.
"Did you hook up with Qin Liyi?"
Fu Chenzhan's words hit like a bombshell, making Chi Xingcun freeze in his tracks.
"What the hell are you talking about?" he shot back in a panic.
"Who left that bite mark on your neck?" He casually dropped another bombshell.
Chi Xingcun's eyes went wide in shock, and he instinctively covered his neck.
In his panic, Fu Chenzhan was already in front of him. Chi Xingcun tried to run, but Fu Chenzhan pinned him firmly from behind.
Fu Chenzhan pressed one hand against the wall, the other hand gripping the slender waist in front of him. He lowered his head, not realizing how dazed his own eyes looked, instinctively breathing in the scent of Chi Xingcun's hair.
He slowly opened his eyes, only to see that glaring bite mark again.
"Did you not know you have a bite mark there?" His voice gave nothing away.
Was he running around with that mark because he didn't know, or did he just not care if anyone saw? Or did he want people to know he had a new lover on purpose?
Chi Xingcun glared at him in disgust, refusing to answer.
But Fu Chenzhan could tell from his reaction that he knew about the mark.
He tried to ignore the disgust he saw in Chi Xingcun's eyes.
So...
"Did you let him bite you? Or—when you two were getting rough, did he get carried away and bite you?"
"Get lost! Why the hell would I tell you?!" Chi Xingcun was furious, his face bright red.
"You're always like this! You only care about yourself, you only do what you want, you never see me! You always ignore how I feel! You're such a jerk!"
In his past life, Chi Xingcun had loved him like crazy. Fu Chenzhan had been hot and cold with him, and he'd thought it was his own fault for being too annoying. But now that he didn't want to get close to Fu Chenzhan anymore, Fu Chenzhan still kept coming around, only doing what he wanted.
Fu Chenzhan was about to say something else, but Chi Xingcun's sudden outburst stopped him.
He went quiet, starting to reflect on his own behavior.
Before, he hadn't cared who was by his side. When Chi Xingcun came along, he treated him like his fiancé. He even thought he'd done enough—he'd agree to most of his fiancé's practical requests, except for stuff like asking him to love him.
Love? He didn't know what it meant, had never valued it, and didn't even need it.
He just didn't know how to fulfill that kind of request from his fiancé.
So he'd find other ways to make it up to him, or just ignore it.
Two months ago, on his birthday, he'd deliberately ignored it, thinking he'd make it up to him some other way. He never expected Chi Xingcun to stop coming to him altogether.
He'd thought his fiancé leaving was just a minor blip in his life—he'd marry someone else eventually. He wasn't the only one out there. But unexpectedly, after Chi Xingcun left his side, his life felt like it had been hollowed out—his very soul ripped away, leaving nothing but an empty shell.
He used to be full of ambition, charging through each day with endless energy. But after Chi Xingcun left, all that drive was gone. Even the same tasks couldn't get him interested.
He couldn't get Chi Xingcun's face out of his head.
It was like Chi Xingcun had tied a rope around his wrist and was pulling him from the other end, making it impossible to resist the urge to go find him.
Later, when Chi Xingcun showed up in front of him again, his face gave nothing away, but inside—inside he was desperately hoping Chi Xingcun would come to him.
Now, watching Chi Xingcun fall apart, he wanted so badly to say something to comfort him, even to keep him, but not a single word escaped his lips.
It wasn't his lips' fault—even his mind was blank.
He let go.
The moment he released him, Chi Xingcun lunged at him, hitting him!
Hitting his neck, his shoulders, his chest!
Fu Chenzhan didn't block.
This was the first time Chi Xingcun had ever hit him.
When Chi Xingcun finished venting and tried to leave, Fu Chenzhan suddenly grabbed his wrist again, pulling him back.
He leaned in like a demon, whispering by his ear:
"Baby, next time don't let me see someone else's marks on your neck."
"Stop being crazy!"
Chi Xingcun shoved him hard, looking at him like he was a monster, and fled in terror.
......
It was an awkward encounter. Chi Xingcun rushed out of the club and hurried back to the dormitory. The moment he entered, he kicked off his shoes, climbed onto his bed, and buried himself under the covers.
Xue Tianye sat at the desk, not even having the chance to say a word to him before he saw Chi Xingcun's bed curtain drawn shut.
What now?
Xue Tianye thought—Chi Xingcun used to be disobedient, but now he was well-behaved, yet seemed to have even more troubles.
Li Qing coldly watched Chi Xingcun, but Chi Xingcun didn't even glance at him.
"The sports meet is next week—how's everyone's preparation going?"
He deliberately brought it up.
Everyone knew Chi Xingcun had a weak constitution yet had signed up for the relay race. Wasn't that just asking to be laughed at?
Before he could continue, Xue Tianye turned and warned him: "Lights out soon. No one wants to chat with you. Keep it down."
Li Qing was speechless. Was Chi Xingcun some kind of national treasure? Why did everyone have to protect him?
But he didn't say anything, just rolled over and got into bed.
Chi Xingcun heard him too. He pulled out his phone and glanced at the calendar—his eyes went wide.
Today was the first day of Qin Liyi's sports meet!
Oh no, he'd actually forgotten!
And what's more, Qin Liyi hadn't even told him.
He wasn't off brooding by himself again, was he?!
He got out of bed and headed to the hallway to call Qin Liyi.
Qin Liyi picked up.
"Mm, sweetheart, what's up?"
Sweetheart? Chi Xingcun's chest tightened. Why was he suddenly using that name?
And why did Qin Liyi sound so fake?
"Don't call me that..." Chi Xingcun felt mortified. "Uh, today's your sports meet—I had class and forgot. Don't be mad..."
"Then come out and see me? I want to hear you say it to my face." Qin Liyi's tone was quite cheerful. "I'm at your school gate right now."
......
Meanwhile, at the pitch-dark school gate, two figures showed up—Qin Liyi and Fu Chenzhan.
Fu Chenzhan's tall frame leaned lazily against the wall, his voice cold as ice: "If he finds out you had someone following him, you think he'd still be friends with you?"
Qin Liyi, on the other hand, sat on a stone pillar with his hands in his pockets. Today he was in a baggy red-and-black leather hoodie, looking wild and cocky, but still handsome—after all, he had that face.
He laughed, totally lazy: "You think our Xingbao is that hard to please? All I gotta do is say I was worried about him, and he'll forgive me in no time."
He raised his sharp eyes, staring straight at Fu Chenzhan, and taunted: "If he were hard to win over, would he have stayed with you this long?"
