Chapter 4:

The Hyena brothers escorted Queqiu onto the ship bound for Dark Star, unceremoniously pushing him into the passenger cabin, causing him to stumble. In stark contrast to Jin Li's careful handling, they were utterly indifferent.

If Queqiu were a real Omega of this world experiencing all this, he probably would have already broken down crying.

However, Queqiu took it well. After regaining his balance from the push, he quietly found a corner to sit down.

The Hyena brothers glanced at Queqiu, shared a brief, ambiguous look, and then entered the cockpit, arm in arm, not forgetting to warn him not to try any tricks.

Queqiu paid no attention to them, instead turning his head to look out the window, remaining his usual quiet self.

He was pondering two issues.

The first question Queqiu pondered was why people in this world revered Omegas so highly, especially those with plant genes belonging to the healing category.

Even considering the principle of rarity determining value, it seemed excessively prized.

The second question was about the nature of this world.

While not critically important, Queqiu, as a newcomer and soon to be sent to the dreaded Dark Star, felt a degree of unease and an urgent need to gather more information to navigate this world effectively.

However, he chose not to inquire directly from the two Hyena Alphas, unlike how he might have asked Jin Li.

Plants inherently lack self-defense mechanisms and cannot move from their location, making them vulnerable even to the weakest animals in nature. Those plants that develop consciousness in such harsh environments are often favorites of natural order, possessing innate perceptive abilities.

Queqiu, a “favorite of the natural order,” instinctively sensed danger from the Alphas.

He wasn’t just daydreaming but also calculating whether he could preemptively neutralize the threat with his current strength, catching them off guard.

Queqiu habitually acted only when he was completely sure of his situation, aiming for a fatal blow.

However, his outward demeanor was that of a slightly dazed and innocently naive individual, seemingly vulnerable and endearing, which was in stark contrast to his actual thoughts. This apparently non-threatening, frail, and pitiful appearance was fully observed by the Hyena brothers.

The elder brother, Les, eyed the monitor screen with undisguised lust, "Though he's a defective Omega, his face is really attractive."

The younger brother, Huss, while piloting the ship, also had half his attention on Queqiu, "Such a fragile little Omega, soon to be sent to Dark Star, really makes me worried."

"There are no Imperial laws on Dark Star, how many days do you think he’ll survive there?"

"If he's lucky, he might be picked up by some power faction and kept as a plaything; but if he's unlucky..." Huss chuckled lewdly, "he might just be tortured to death by a bunch of desperados the very next day."

"As the old saying goes, why let the good stuff fall into others' hands..."

The brothers exchanged a look, their squinted eyes filled with the rapacious glint of hyenas.

Subsequently, Queqiu noticed that the Alphas, who had initially been neglectful, suddenly became overly attentive, often hovering around him, eyeing him with what they thought were well-concealed lecherous gazes.

Queqiu: “...”

Do these foolish dogs not realize that a rose comes with thorns?!

Or did they genuinely perceive him as a weak and defenseless Omega?

Despite their increasingly obvious intentions, neither of the Hyena brothers made a move before entering the orbit of Dark Star.

A little contemplation led Queqiu to understand why.

According to these people, Dark Star seemed to be a lawless zone, where one could act without fear of the Empire’s laws once on the planet.

In the laws of the Empire, coercing or harming an Omega was a crime second only to treason.

Bold as they were, the two Alphas dared not lay a hand on Queqiu outside of Dark Star's orbit.

But once they entered Dark Star, regarding the imminent events…

As the horizon of Dark Star drew closer, the two exchanged a glance and chuckled, “Heh heh,” then turned their conniving eyes towards Queqiu in unison.

The naive beauty, with round eyes, seemed oblivious to the impending danger, simply lifting his head slightly in a dazed manner, looking at them.

"Sss—such a top-notch beauty."

As the elder brother, Les was even more impatient than his younger sibling. He couldn't wait for the ship to land and hurriedly approached to touch Queqiu's hand.

"Anyway, those desperados will have their turn; why not let us brothers have a taste first~"

Up to this point, Queqiu seemed to have not fully grasped the situation. Instead of recoiling, he gently curled his lips into a smile.

The brothers were momentarily stunned by the once distant and calm Omega's sudden blossoming—a truly unparalleled beauty.

Unable to restrain themselves any longer, the hyena Alphas pounced with a growl, oblivious to the cold glint flashing in the beautiful Omega's eyes.

The next second, countless thick, dark green vines burst forth, swiftly enveloping the cabin until it was airtight.

Their speed was sufficient to strangle living creatures in an instant, yet the anticipated bloodshed did not occur.

The Alphas stood frozen, completely forgetting how to resist—

Or rather, not knowing how to resist at all.

They widened their eyes in disbelief at the Omega who rose composedly before them, unable to fathom that such vines could be summoned by an Omega deemed "defective."

In their limited understanding of plant-based Omegas, these overly delicate beings struggled even to release pheromones for healing and comfort; how could they, like now, summon vines as weapons for unblinkingly taking lives?

Queqiu did not entangle with the two hyena brothers for long. He slowly lifted his hand, his fingertips twinkling with a shimmering green light, as if thousands of fireflies were dancing.

The steel-like robust vines kept growing, binding the two hyena Alphas in an inescapable grip, leaving them utterly unable to break free.

The hatch was slowly opened, and a powerful current of air whooshed in.

He stepped back, his golden hair whipped into disarray by the fierce wind, his voice soft and sweet, tinged with a rebellious and eerie beauty.

"Some flowers are naturally thorny, be careful not to cut your hand when picking them."

The next moment, with a touch of annoyance, they said, "Ah... I forgot, canaries don't have thorns."

Moist pink lips parted and closed, and in the golden eyes flowed a misty haze.

No matter how you looked at it, they seemed like a pampered young master who couldn’t bear the slightest hardship.

"However, this doesn’t mean that you can bully me at will."

Yet, in reality, it was such an Omega, seemingly incapable of any aggression, who overpowered a fierce Alpha in an instant with absolute dominance.

The hyena Alphas’ pupils shrank, paralyzed by an unknown fear.

At the end of the gaze, the beautiful Omega spread their arms, leapt backward, and fell into the swirling clouds.

Amid the howling wind, Qiuqiu smiled, watching the ship completely entwined inside and out by vines, and stretched out a hand to gently clasp and squeeze—

With a "bang", the flames of the explosion, as arrogant as the sun, engulfed the silvery ship in an instant, turning it into a huge, blazing fireball.

Yet more dazzling than the sun was a golden streak of light, swiftly piercing through one cloud after another, exceptionally striking in the pitch-black night sky.

"Is that... a shooting star?"

An Alpha in a white uniform looked up, their black eyes reflecting a bright trajectory.

A companion beside them chided in a low voice, "What's so great about shooting stars? Hurry up and find the crash site of Duan Chensen. We must get there before the military."
