Chapter 13: The Angry Young Cousin

Ye Wuchen's voice was icy cold, like a sharp blade, with a hint of innocence still lingering in his youthful eyes. Now, however, his gaze held both malevolence and suppressed anger, seemingly directed at both Ye Xiyao and the Shen family. Ye Xiyao appeared startled, her face frozen in a daze for a moment. But then, through her tear-stained cheeks, she suddenly broke into a silly giggle.

"Hehe... Sister Shen has a mole on her bottom, a mole, hehe..."

Though Ye Xiyao was foolish, her words were clear. Ye Wuchen, whose face had been dark with fury, indeed froze upon hearing this. Suddenly, his entire face flushed red!

"What are you saying? Don't forget your status!"

Ever since the incident half a year ago, Ye Wuchen had secluded himself indoors. It was only tonight that he learned about his idiotic cousin being brutally beaten by the Shens. As she spoke, the giggling Ye Xiyao suddenly burst into tears. Then, she abruptly sat up and leaned close to Ye Wuchen's ear, whispering mysteriously:

These so-called strong individuals were known as Spirit Users, who cultivated spiritual energy. Every child on the Lingyun Continent, starting from the age of ten, underwent a test at the Talent Stone to determine their innate abilities. There were five elemental talents—gold, wood, water, fire, and earth, each with nine ranks. Upon completing the test, their spirit roots would be activated, allowing them to begin cultivation.
