Chapter 83: I Want To Make Love
by 石头星Chapter 83: I Want To Make Love
Climbing a short stretch of the mountain, they reached a more spacious summit where clouds seemed to float by their sides, creating an illusion of being in a dreamlike realm.
"Such a magnificent sea of clouds," Yun He stretched out his arms, allowing the strong wind to tousle his hair.
Gu Jiabei stood beside him, feeling the wind and gazing at the landscape below, his pent-up frustration dissipating significantly.
"Gu Jiabei, sing me a song," Yun He turned to look at the person beside him.
"Why sing randomly?" Gu Jiabei frowned.
"There's no such thing as random. It's been ages since I last heard you sing. The acoustics here must make it incredibly exhilarating," Yun He chuckled.
"Your mouth might just fill with wind, that's quite thrilling," Gu Jiabei glanced at Yun He sidelong.
"Sing, sing, just sing a song for me," Yun He pleaded, shaking Gu Jiabei's arm and drawing closer to him, whispering seductively into his ear, "Big Brother Jiabei, please sing one for me."
"I might push you down," Gu Jiabei threatened playfully.
Unfazed, Yun He took advantage of the situation, wrapping his arms around Gu Jiabei's and pressing his lips to his ear, whispering, "Sing me a song, will you? It's been so long since I've heard your voice. Sometimes, I even dream about that first encounter, when you were playing the guitar and singing."
"I miss you so much, Gu Jiabei," Yun He said, leaning his head on Gu Jiabei's shoulder and blinking away moistened eyes.
After a moment, Gu Jiabei finally began to sing, his deep and magnetic voice echoing through the wind and the sea of clouds, piercing Yun He's heart with a timeless melody.
"Hard to forget the first time we met, those captivating eyes that linger in my mind. Your figure haunts my thoughts, never fading away. Holding your hands, I feel your tenderness, leaving me breathless."
"Your innocence, I want to cherish, seeing you upset would break my heart."
"Yet, I'm afraid I might fall for you, hesitant to draw too near. Worried I have nothing to give, loving you requires great courage."
Lost in Gu Jiabei's singing and memories of the past, both men were overcome with emotion, momentarily speechless.
"Big brother..." A tentative girl's voice echoed from behind.
Yun He jumped, turning hastily to find a girl, perhaps around fifteen or sixteen, observing them from a short distance away.
Instinctively, Yun He distanced himself from Gu Jiabei, who subtly furrowed his brow.
"You... Hello there, little sister, where did you come from?" Yun He asked guiltily, unsure how much of his intimate display on Gu Jiabei's shoulder the young girl had witnessed.
"I've been drawing over there all along," the girl pointed behind her.
Yun He looked and saw an easel set up not far away. His heart sank, realizing that the girl must have seen the entire scene, but he was also relieved that he hadn't done anything more inappropriate.
"Oh... Did we disturb you?" Yun He inquired.
The girl shook her head. "Big brother, you two look so nice together. Can I draw a portrait of you two?"
Somewhat surprised and a bit embarrassed, Yun He replied, "You have good taste, little miss."
Looking at Gu Jiabei for approval, Yun He saw no objection and playfully said to the girl, "Then let's do a sketch, I still want to go eat some barbecue later."
"Sure thing," the girl giggled as she ran back to her canvas, shouting at them, "Brothers, could you hug for a moment?"
Yun He was slightly taken aback, wondering why this girl was so... peculiar...
While Yun He was in a daze, Gu Jiabei casually put his arm around Yun He's shoulders and gave the girl a cool expression. "Hurry up with the drawing."
The outcome was delightful, with adorable cartoon versions of the characters.
Yun He chuckled as he gazed at Gu Jiabei's disproportionately enlarged head on the drawing. "Hey, do you think this sister intentionally made your head so big? Hahahaha... Payback for your poker face earlier."
Gu Jiabei glanced at the artwork and commented, "There's room for improvement in her skills."
The girl challenged him, "Are you that great at drawing?"
"I'm better than you," Gu Jiabei replied arrogantly. "At least I don't exaggerate proportions to the point of making heads look comically large."
"I hate you!" Frustrated, the young girl packed up her easel, grabbed her sketchpad, and turned to leave without looking back. Before departing, she snatched the sketch from Yun He's hand. "Hmph!"
Feeling unjustly implicated, Yun He looked speechlessly at Gu Jiabei. "Can't you be gentler with girls?"
"All the tenderness I have in me," Gu Jiabei said coolly as he walked ahead, "hasn't it all been given to you?"
Yun He's heart raced amidst the howling wind. He stared at the back of Gu Jiabei's head, a tingling sensation coursing through his body.
Was Gu Jiabei just being romantic?...
Yun He rushed to Gu Jiabei's side, astounded by the affection, "Then will you continue to be gentle only with me from now on?"
Gu Jiabei's face remained cold as he huffed, "Didn't you just tell me to be gentler to others?"
"No, no, no, I was wrong, I was wrong! Don't be nice to others, don't smile at them, just be gentle with me, please!"
"Your demands are quite numerous," Gu Jiabei grumbled impatiently.
They retraced their steps and passed by the group of people who had been playing cards earlier. They had now set up a barbecue grill and were starting to cook in a serious manner. To Yun He's surprise, the young girl from before was among them.
"Hey there, feel free to find a place to sit," a muscular man in his thirties greeted Yun He and Gu Jiabei with a grin. He then waved at the girl beside him, "Nu Nu, come here and say hello to Uncle."
"I've already seen them both at the top of the mountain," the little girl pouted and helplessly told her father, "Dad, we don't call handsome guys 'uncle' anymore these days."
"What do we call them then?" asked Nu Nu's dad.
"Brother, of course."
"Well, why didn't your classmates call me 'brother' when they saw me?"
"Well, because you're not handsome, of course."
"Hey! You rascals!"
Listening to their playful bickering, Yun He couldn't help but smile. He turned his head and flashed a toothy grin at Gu Jiabei.
Gu Jiabei looked at Yun He expressionlessly, to which Yun He responded with a silly face.
As they sat down for barbecue and beer, someone asked about Yun He's and Gu Jiabei's occupations. Both gave vague answers; Yun He mentioned working in education, while Gu Jiabei said he was self-employed.
Then, the others introduced themselves as well. Yun He learned that Niu Niu's father worked in new media, managing an account with millions of followers. Others were involved in architecture, service industries, and so on.
Amidst this group of young people, conversations flowed freely regardless of familiarity, without the constraints of the outside world. Deep in the mountains, everyone felt genuinely relaxed.
The meal dragged on until it was dark, and they lit a bonfire.
Yun He, slightly tipsy, played with the flickering flames using a branch.
"We've been married for over a decade, together since school. We got our marriage certificate right after graduation," a couple in their thirties continued their previous conversation. "I thought after all these years, there'd be times when we'd grow tired of each other—"
"Don't give me that high-minded talk. Be honest, haven't you ever been annoyed by me?" The wife interrupted her husband's grandiose speech.
"Hehe... Well, if I must be truthful, there have been times," the husband admitted, causing everyone to burst into laughter.
"But so what? Even teeth and tongue sometimes clash, let alone a married couple living together," he explained. "Although I might get on your nerves at times, I still dare to say that I am the one who loves you the most in this world."
"Please," the wife rolled her eyes at her husband, but the affection and sweetness in her eyes were undeniable.
Yun He fiddled with the bonfire, looking enviously at the couple before him. He leaned closer to Gu Jiabei and whispered, "Gu Jiabei, let's go back."
Gu Jiabei looked at Yun He with a hint of confusion.
"I've had a bit to drink... I'm a little tipsy," Yun He's eyes shimmered like stars, and his cheeks were flushed from the firelight. In a soft voice, he said, "I want to... you know."
