Chapter 9: Only Villains Can Tame Other Villains

Just as Qin Xiaoyao was about to kick the door, a voice finally echoed from within.

"It's me!" It was none other than Wang Dashan.

Only then did Qin Xiaoyao withdraw her foot.

She thought to herself, Let's see if you turtles can hide for the rest of your lives!

In no time, Wang Dashan came to open the door. Upon seeing Qin Xiaoyao, he wore an irritable expression.

"Who are you looking for?" He stood right in the doorway, not making way, and asked bluntly.

    Qin Xiaoyao's brow furrowed.

"I'm here for your mother!" she declared directly.

Upon seeing Qin Xiaoyao's demeanor, Wang Dashan's disdain intensified.

"My mother is occupied. Don't come looking for her again in the future." With that, he attempted to close the door.

Unexpectedly, Qin Xiaoyao's foot blocked the entrance.

Wang Dashan frowned, ready to scold this ungrateful woman.

But Qin Xiaoyao exerted force, pushing the door open.

Unaware, he was pushed back several steps by the door.

Furious, Wang Dashan was about to lash out when Qin Xiaoyao spoke first.

"When you borrowed money and rice from me, you had time! Now that it's time to return them, suddenly you're too busy?" Qin Xiaoyao yelled into the courtyard.

Spotting Wang Dashan, poised to confront her, she stepped forward directly.

"Did the rice and flour your mother borrowed end up in your stomach?"

"Your mother pleaded with me back then, begging for a loan to treat and nurse you through your illness. She said she had asked everyone in the village, but not a single one was willing to lend her money."

"She even declared that the entire Lower Water Village was filled with ungrateful wretches, and that I was the only kind-hearted one who would lend her funds!"

"Now that you're well, recovered, and even working in the town, you've forgotten your benefactor, have you?"

Qin Xiaoyao approached Wang Dashan with unwavering confidence, forcing a change in the man's furious expression.

The reason was that Wang Dashan had no knowledge of these events at all. Before he went to work in the town, he did indeed suffer from a severe cold, which required a lot of medicine to treat.

Back then, he was puzzled as to how his family could afford so many medications. Could it be that...

Upon considering the possibility that Qin Xiaoyao's account might be true, Wang Dashan felt so guilty that he couldn't even lift his head.

"How blind my copper coins and grains were! To nourish such an ungrateful wolf like you!" Qin Xiaoyao pressed on, showing no mercy despite being in the right.

"Qin San Ya, how dare you speak such nonsense!"

Just then, Aunt Wang rushed over like a hen protecting her chicks.

In her hand was a stick typically used to chase away chickens and ducks, which she brandished at Qin Xiaoyao while shielding Wang Dashan behind her.

"Foolish girl, when have I ever borrowed from you? Copper coins and grain were all given willingly!" Defying Qin Xiaoyao's gaze, Aunt Wang seemed impervious to criticism, much like a pig that isn't afraid of boiling water.

Qin Xiaoyao couldn't help but frown at her repulsive attitude.

Quickly extending her hand, she seized the stick with lightning speed.

"I've got more money than I know what to do with! Why would I give charity to a ungrateful wretch like you? My rice and flour are overflowing; do you expect me to feed your wolf cub?!" She shouted loudly, continuing her tirade.

With a sudden exertion of force, she snatched the stick away and tossed it aside.

Aunt Wang, trying to hold onto the stick, was yanked by Qin Xiaoyao and ended up sitting on the ground.

"Ouch! Murder! Qin San Ya is going to kill someone! Help, somebody, quick!" Aunt Wang immediately began wailing.

A hog-slaughtering wail, piercingly unpleasant to the ears.

Unfortunately, Qin Xiaoyao was utterly unafraid.

Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she retrieved the stick she had discarded earlier.

"Hmph, murder? If I don't teach you a lesson today, wouldn't that be letting your false accusations slide?" she hissed with a sinister tone.

With the stick in hand, she approached Aunt Wang step by step.

At this moment, Qin Xiaoyao exuded a bloodthirsty aura, fiercely aggressive as if she were truly capable of taking a life.

Wang Dashan's legs turned to jelly at the sight.

Even Aunt Wang involuntarily ceased her cries.

"One last time, will you return it or not?!" Qin Xiaoyao's eyes gleamed with deadly intent, aiming the stick at Aunt Wang on the ground.

If this were her past life, she wouldn't have bothered with this argument and would have simply dealt with the situation by force.

Simply because she despised such shrewish women the most.

Aunt Wang flinched, a flicker of hesitation crossing her eyes.

Wang Dashan, on the other hand, was utterly terrified and promptly rushed to his mother's side.

"I'll pay it back! How much do you still owe? I'll pay it!" he hastily declared.

He had intended to speak with righteousness and grandeur, but facing Qin Xiaoyao's gaze, Wang Dashan could only manage to finish his sentence with determination.

Any air of authority he might have had was completely absent.

Upon hearing this, Qin Xiaoyao's expression softened slightly.

"It would've been settled if you'd just said so earlier," she said, casting a disdainful glance at Wang Dashan.

With a firm grip, she effortlessly snapped the thick wooden stick, as thick as a thumb, into two halves.

This sight sent another wave of shock through the mother and son.

"Seventy-five coins in total, plus ten bowls of rough rice and five bowls of coarse flour."

As she spoke, Qin Xiaoyao passed the bowl in her hand over.

"Use this bowl. Also, when I measured them, each bowl was heaped up," Qin Xiaoyao added.

Aunt Wang was about to refute, but her son's warning glance made her shut her mouth.

"Alright! Wait here," Wang Dashan instructed before turning back into the house.

Watching her son's retreating figure, Aunt Wang suddenly felt a sense of injustice in her heart.

"Heh, looks like I was mistaken. Dashan still has some conscience after all," Qin Xiaoyao glanced at Aunt Wang and commented coldly.

Aunt Wang swiftly turned back, glaring at Qin Xiaoyao before getting up from the ground.

Since causing a scene was useless, why would she continue sitting there?

"Hmph, Qin San Ya! You'd better pray that your Song family never finds itself in need of our Wang family's help!" Aunt Wang couldn't bear the bitterness in her heart without issuing a stern warning.

Wanting to avoid provoking Qin San Ya into a frenzy, she chose her words more carefully.

Qin Xiaoyao raised an eyebrow and then, surprisingly, offered Aunt Wang a smile.

"Rest assured, such a day will never come."

"On the contrary, if your family ever loses someone and needs assistance, don't bother seeking help from our Song family." She replied, undeterred by Aunt Wang's furious gaze.

"Anyway, one bite from a white-eyed wolf is more than enough," Qin Xiaoyao continued.

"A-you-" Aunt Wang was fuming, pointing at Qin Xiaoyao.

But Qin Xiaoyao simply reached out and gently moved aside the finger pointing at her.

"As for me, I'm doing just fine! I'm happier than you, and I'll live longer too."

"I see that the words I spoke to you at the foot of the mountain earlier went in one ear and out the other," Qin Xiaoyao said, turning her gaze towards the direction where Wang Dashan had just left.

"Should you provoke me again, I'll go find my father and have him have a little chat with Manager Chen about your family's debt and ungrateful ways."

"People always say that children inherit their parents' traits. We'll see then if Manager Chen still wants your son, Big Mountain, around."

Aunt Wang's face paled. "Y-You dare—"

But Qin Xiaoyao's response only made her laugh.

"Haha, why wouldn't I dare? If you provoke me, I'd even dare to eliminate you." With that, Qin Xiaoyao turned to Aunt Wang with a menacing look in her eyes.
